Although I'm in a ridiculous state of pain, I'm keeping myself amused...I found this little ditty which creates seemingly endless course descriptions with very interesting objectives and requirements (click next, when you get there...)...Then, I was sent this *shocking* yet enjoyable product description via email. (Be sure to read the reviews :)

I had planned on going back to "city" (read: dc) last nite. Unfortunately a workplace injury...on my first day...sent me screaming to the emergency room. I emerged many hours later with only 9 toenails. Some sound advice: When moving cafeteria tables, make sure not to run over your big toe.

Okay. I guess by doing this I've become a real blogger. My SMP, which I have been alluding to here many times is a multifacited critique of consensus process. Here "Wanda" argues incoherently in favor of consensus process and she misspells the word "republic." My favorite line: "Outsiders often find it hard to see such community meetings in other societies as "democratic" at all because they almost never use majority voting to reach decisions either: they tend to rely instead on a principle usually referred to as "consensus", whereby decisions have to be agreed to by everyone immediately concerned. But if one thinks about it, this makes a great deal of sense too." Hmmm...it only makes sense if one doesn't consider that unanimous decisions often reflect manipulation rather than genuine agreement. Well, that's what I argue.

Chapter 3 is a joke. I'm not even going to touch on the stress of putting that chapter together here. But, I plan on posting the other two chapters very very soon. I'd post them now because I'm bored, but I left the disk at my DC locale...silly me.

I'm working up a little scheme where I publish my academic works in progress--namely, my SMP (read: senior thesis) on deliberative democracy and consensus process here. Chapters 1 and 2 are ready for feedback, but I can't work on putting them up here, until I finish Chapter 3.

So...I finished making this site pretty last nite. And I've been thinking about what I'm going to use it for, since I already have Zoe's Diary. But I've been thinking about using this pita thing for more academic type work. We'll see...
