The new layout, simple as it is, features Kaga Tetsuo from the fairly new anime/manga series "Hikaru no Go". This is the cover of volume 3, scanned, and then edited painstakingly by me to get rid of the writing over his arm. Took forever! I also had to flip it so it would look good, so now his kanji is backwards. ^_^* Oh well! Kaga is a punk, and I like him. He even smokes in the manga, despite being 14 years old. Yes, you heard right. He certainly looks older, doesn't he? In fact the title for this layout, "Self-Denial", stems from the fact that for a long time I was quite embarrassed to find a 14-year-old kid to be sexy. But he is, no denying it!

Heh, I just watched Harry Potter on DVD. Yummy! I love that movie, and I swear, Alan Rickman gets sexier the more I see him. That's really all I have to say. XD I can't wait for Chamber of Secrets to come out so I can see more! Woot!

Anime meeting yesterday didn't go too badly, even though Mike and I were the only eboard members there (Jason went back to Detroit for one reason or another; at least he dropped me an ICQ to tell me.) We watched the first episode of Nuku Nuku (which was okay, but I've seen it already), 1-2 of Maze (which I kind of liked despite its stupidity - it has Jet's voice actor in it and I could tell by his first word o.O), 2 eps. of Comic Party (which made me want to buy doujinshi - it's okay I ended up missing out on the Jecht/Auron ones I wanted on ebay, though, 'cause they ended up going over apiece), and then we ended up missing the last half due to having to go all the way to Wendy's for food. So we missed KareKano (which is sort of a shame), Gatekeepers (which I don't like anyway), and then we came back for most of Please Save My Earth, but left a bit early. I've seen that multiple times anyway.

Anyway, for anyone who cares, I created a stupid quiz about myself:

Take my Quiz on QuizYourFriends.com!

However, be warned that it contains some Final Fantasy X spoilers... if you don't care, and have nothing better to do, go take it!

Which Final Fantasy 8 Character Are You?

You are Zell! Hyperactive much? Caffeine and you should stay
far from each other. You might be a little shy with the opposite
sex, but in big groups you're extremely outspoken. Your
emotions run strong, and though you might try to hide them,
you seldom succeed.

Take the Final Fantasy 8 Test here!

Wai! I love Zell.

On a completely different note, I was reading Sarah's blog and noticed that we seem to have very similar problems a lot of the time; I have a job, but it pays an hour for 12 to 16 hours a week, and I really need one with more hours and hopefully a higher salary. Yet I am too lazy to get out and look for one... ^_^* It doesn't help that it's hard to think of something I would actually sort of enjoy doing, but I suppose I shouldn't be worrying about that.

Terre Haute was fun, by the way. It's a tiny school full of geeks in the middle of nowhere, but it has a kind of charm. Also the guys working in the cafeteria who sing Linkin Park at the top of their lungs is terribly amusing.

I beat Final Fantasy X at one a.m. last night. Oh my god, that game has SUCH a great ending! It's horribly sad, but really beautiful. I think Sarah would like it, if I could get her to play a turn-based RPG. ^_^*

I also had a hard time falling asleep after that. I had no less than four bizarre dreams; the first involved going to fight the Death Star in the van, which had wings. The second involved a picnic ruined by some scary religious fanatics and their dog, which practically mauled me. The third was actually Final Fantasy related; I was fighting some kind of big monster by throwing M&Ms at it. If it hadn't been a turn-based battle, and Auron hadn't been in my pary (with the Masamune), it would have been a lot scarier.

The last one started with me asleep in bed. Then Alexis and her boyfriend (except it wasn't her real-life boyfriend but some other guy) showed up at my house, and I remembered that I was going to take them with me to visit Robin (which I'm going to do today). So I got up, and realized that I couldn't find the directions Robin had given me. I was frantically searching for them as the time grew later and later. I was really relieved when I realized it was only a dream. ^_^*

Well, that's about it. In closing, a few lines from FFX and my reaction to them:

Jecht: "You're going to cry again. You always cry. See? You're crying."
Me, blowing my nose: "Shut up, Jecht! I'll cry if I want! ::sniffle::"

No, you misunderstand. I read Penny Arcade.

Sometimes I just want to kill, or something. I say "I don't think we should add any more bootlegged commercial release anime to the library", and everyone freaks out at me. Gah. It's illegal, people. It's hurting the companies. We have more tapes than we really need already, and nowhere to put them. IS THAT SO HARD TO BELIEVE?!?!?!?

The end, all too soon.

Wow... I had my last final today. Granted, I only had three classes... ^_^* I got an A in my art class, did pretty darn well on my Japanese final, and... well... I don't really know HOW I did in Shakespeare, but I think I got at least a B. It's hard to say, though. I feel good about myself. Now I have lots of free time and nothing to do with it... maybe I can start worrying about organizing anime club things. I have a lot of ideas suddenly... like getting a mailing list for the eboard and helpers so we can all know what's going on a bit more easily. I should ask Mike about it... which means finding Mike... ^_^* I might just make it; if we want to change the moderator to the AA yahoo address we always can later.

Also been thinking about some kind of online newsletter, since it would be a lot easier and more cost-effective than a printed one. I'm not sure how much support we'd get from the club. We need funds... ::dies::

Speaking of dying, the other day I learned all about Auron gettig killed by Yunalesca and crawling down Mt. Gagazet while mortally wounded. And how he managed to bring himself back from death because he had to keep the promise he made to Jecht, to take care of Tidus... T-T Auron needs hugs. Lots of them.

Blah, I don't know who to cosplay as.

I really need some money. I am saving up for Otakon, but I only get paid about a week, and only have about 0 in my bank account, and... I want more money!!! How can I get some without getting a really sucky job, though? Too bad I can't sell mediocre fanart on ebay, but I'm not good enough even for the mediocre stuff. ^_^* Sigh... I'll think of something! I might have a dog-sitting job later on, which would be nice.

Seymour kicked my ass! T-T How the heck did he get to the top of the mountain so fast, anyway? And does anyone else think that Auron getting turned into a zombie is just a little weird?

Rant time!

My health, for the past couple of days, has ranged from "mildly ucky" to "hacking my lungs out" to "someone kill me now". In other words, it has not been terribly pleasant. At the moment I have a mild headache throbbing right between my eyes and my throat is sore, but that's NOTHING compared to how I felt Thursday. At least I'm not shivering uncontrollably any more.

But, guess what? The point of this bitchfest is not to complain about my health, but about the Anime Addicts. Surprise! You see, today, I had to work in the morning. This was totally EXHAUSTING, since I was not exactly feeling my best. I made it home feeling slightly weak, and my ankles hurt like hell. We were going to see "Fiddler on the Roof" at Miller later, and I really wanted to go, despite my illness. However, I did not entirely like the idea of going to the anime meeting afterwards, especially since I was so tired driving was more than a little difficult. However, recalling that the eboard elections were scheduled for today's meeting - I was running for both Treasurer and Secretary ^_^* - I went anyway. I actually didn't feel THAT bad once I was at the meeting; I was coughing a lot, though. So anyway, there was some discussion of the mechanics of the election before the meeting, and then the meeting itself. I watched Yami no Matsuei (Oriya showed up! Sigh, swoon, etc.... I really should slash him with Muraki sometime) and then, as usual, decided to go out in the hall for Noir, despite the fact that I was in charge of running the VCR since (as usual) the entire eboard disappeared. (Okay, Sarah has only disappeared from meetings a couple of times, but Mike ALWAYS does and Chris has been frequently also). However, when I went out into the hall, I was greeted by Andrew III's announcement that Mike had spontaneously decided to HAVE THE ELECTIONS NEXT WEEK. I was so pissed off I came very, very close to dropping my key off in the office and never having anything to do with the eboard again; instead I played Apples to Apples with an increasingly large group of people. Then I went home at around 10. I seriously am sick and tired of the immaturity and irresponsibility of the board, ESPECIALLY Mike, and Chris to an only slightly lesser extent. Dale just doesn't do anything, and let me tell you, I can TOTALLY understand why Sarah gets pissed at them. Sigh.

The only highlight of the past few days was the really nice sex dream I had about Kaji. ^_^* I know sex dreams about anime characters are a tad weird, and dreams about characters you haven't technically actually SEEN in their series probably weirder, but whatever, it cheered me up. After the (nice) sex part, I woke up for a while (slightly feverish), went to the bathroom, and went back to sleep. Then I had another dream involving me at Otakon, where I was in a huge moogle suit. It was really hot, which I suppose came from the fact that I physically WAS hot. Sweating and everything. I hate being sick. Anyway, then a moogle-hater slashed my costume with a knife! I had a big hole right in the back of the thigh, and was glad I was wearing boxer shorts so I wasn't overly indecent. I went back to the hotel room, since Caleb said he had a sewing kit there (for some reason). When I walked in (still wearing the ripped moogle suit), who should step out of the bathroom but Kaji, fresh out of the shower and wearing only a towel! Ecstatic to see him again, I glomped him right there, still in my moogle suit. No sex this time, but it was oddly fun. I mean, how many people have kissed Kaji in a torn moogle suit? Not many, I bet!

Kaji, for the record, is near the top of my mental list of anime characters who die and who I would like to save and take to my own private island where they can live in peace and happiness. Er. I have a weird imagination, I know. ^_^* If I ever really did have a place like that, I would hide cameras in all the rooms and try to catch the guys boinking each other. Hee. I hope I don't sound too insane - if so, remember that I'm still more than a little out of it. ^_^* I need more sleep.

I archived again, 'cause the page had been running rather long. I want to make a new layout, but haven't found time; I'll probably get one up relatively soon, though. I have so many obsessions I don't know which one to focus on for my layout! ^_^*

Last night, I finally got a PS2 and Final Fantasy X, much to my bank account's horror. (Thank you again for selling it to me, Aaron!) After playing for two hours I had to take a break because it was SO FREAKING COOL that I was overwhelmed. Now, I love very linear turn-based RPGs, and I suppose if you don't you might not like it, but if you're remotely interested in the genre, I don't think it gets any better than this. Tidus had more character development in the first two hours than some main characters have in their entire games, and it was good. Did I mention that he's hot, too? And Auron is hotter? And Wakka is kind of cute and likes to put his arm around Tidus' shoulders in what we are told is "brotherly affection" but that yaoi fangirls can't help squealing over? The female characters are pretty cool too, though something about the way Lulu looks when she walks bugs me. Her huge skirt makes her look really fat, or something. I just don't like it. ^_^* I'm rotating her, Yuna, and Kimahri around in my party right now, at least until I get Auron back. (I have no idea when that will be, because I know virtually nothing about the plot of this game. I have been sheltering myself for a long time.)

Well, time to eat, and then to play! //00+!
