Your anime subbing/translation department, quite frankly, sucks. But I still thank them
for the howls elicited from me every other Slam Dunk ep. Take today. Sakuragi's growling
"Dare ni mo maken!", or, "I won't lose to anyone!", but your subs read
"I won't get behind!" I beg you, write it not so, because Sakuragi said that
line in reference to one "foxy" (or so your subs call him) Rukawa Kaede and it
gives me. ALL sorts of Bad Ideas. When you translate it like that.
Case #2: Sakuragi: "Ore to shoubu shite yarou!" ("Have a contest with
me!") Your Subs: "Let me do that with you!" I entreat you to define 'it', especially when you sub all of Hana's next words along the
lines of "I said I would do it with you!" and "I want you to do it with
me!" etc, because 'it' doth pertain to a wide range of things, not the least of which
includes a scene involving two sexy jocks boinking on the gym floor with a big orange
ball. Fangirls have had hearts broken through failure of characters to fulfil possible
double entendre implied by subtitles. Such a disaster should be avoided at all costs.
And I have my OWN theory about just what Rukawa did to Sakuragi during their one-on-one
that left Hana-kun so traumatised, but then everyone knows I'm perverted. XP

So just now Rukawa's in Anzai-sensei's wife's car, and she's talking about him and Hana, roughly saying that Anzai-sensei is 'very concerned about both your futures'. Which gave me the snickery feeling that it was like she was discussing an engagement. XD Not to mention! That Maki is unbelieveably H_H in tight black shirts! And Sendoh should be shot for looking so adorable when yawning! And Rukki's colour is *blue*. h_h Yum.
Yabbered w/ Nat just now about various SD stuffs, and what constitutes as IC for Rukki. Thing is, it's quite obvious that canon Rukawa lives specially for the big orange ball, and that, I guess, is THE reason why I scream when ficcers make him declare that he didn't go to America cos of Hana or Sendoh or such crap. IMO it's the greatest disrespect you can do SD's resident kitsune, to say something other than b-ball is the biggest thing in his life. Fandom demands chara development and m/m ensuing due to loneliness or etc, but Rukawa not obssessed with b-ball isn't Rukawa, period. My earlier SD ficrant already said everything else I feel. *shrug* Myself, am prolly going to fic later this week - I can't get the Rukki-asks-Hana-to-move-in idea out of my head. XD
On a Furuba note, I had this cute little Yami parallel where Tsuzuki and Watari are Kyaing over seafood and Tatsumi is looking resigned in the background, something like what happens whenever Shigure, Ayame and Hatori get together. ^_^ Barring the fact that Watari's nowhere as gay or clingy as Aya and Tsuzuki's even cuter than Shigure, it amused me terribly. And I say again, I REALLY don't like Tooru. Her girlfriends are way cooler. XP Will sleep now.

Exhausted. Slept at 2 yesterday, got up at 8.35 today cos body just wouldn't sleep. I ache all over from kayaking marathon prolly worse than Aya after Slut!Ken runs him through the Kama Sutra, but w/out the afterglow. (ruddy partner held her paddle like a CHOPSTICK ><;) This revamp is Screwed, but hell, Kubo can make anything look good (so I'm hoping.) I have in total spent about 10 hours working on this idiot pita since yestyredaye. Even my VOICE sounds different (I got mistaken for niichan on the phone ><) But I got to talk to WhiteCat in morning and sparkle about the Sven universe - there shall be! Fic! For My Darling Boy! If I'm the only one to write it!
Need to do homework and finish comm service next week cos I should be leaving for M'sia in first week of December. *cries* I get to skip the shitty PM farewell
