since the only way Oyaji sees me as a success is through results, it's no surprise I
appear useless if I score below Bs for anything. Am very aware I don't merit much of a
daughter, perhaps, but I wish, I *wish* he'd let off threatening to make me quit NP and
Jap if I don't get a single-digit L1R5 next year. Look, I work for *myself*, okay? And I'm
NOT going to be a doctor next time, I'm NOT going to be an accountant or a professor or a
lawyer and confine myself to only what YOU hold to be a 'profession', if you have to
disown me to see that. If I've worked hard this year and always tried my best, it wasn't
only because I didn't want you to march to the principal and demand I get a class
transfer. I seriously think that as a human being you had a hand in producing, I have *some* other talents even if I seem hopelessly inept at maths and physics. Point is, I THINK FOR MYSELF, PA. I HAVE ALWAYS TRIED TO ACT MY AGE AND STUDY FOR MY *OWN*
FUTURE. I just. Wish. You could see that.

my leisurely perusal
