Boggles

This discussion on Fandom Wank has got to be one of the most insanely out there things I've ever read on the internet. Apparently this writer sold her fanfiction (supposedly of Mary Sues het slash with N Sync) burned to a CD rom for $US 265 on Ebay. *topples over* What ever happened to writing fanfiction for fun and not for profit? And it seems to be legit too, since this writer is some BIG NAME FAN of the fandom. God, I'm sickened that there are people out there who'd do something like that, as well as someone idiot enough (if it's for real) who would pay that much.

Disgusted

I think I'm going to have to be a little more standoffish in the future. I never used to understand how people could be such fandom hermits. Well I do now. One meets people who feel no qualm about doing unethical things and forcing their likes on others, namely me. *sighs* I'm just going to keep to the circle of people that I know well and trust. While I don't mind a fic recc or picture recc once in a while especially for something I'm interested in, once I tell a person that "NO, I do not wish to look at this, (or read it)", then I expect the person to honour my choice and not sneakily con me into accepting the file by labelling it something else. I don't even think she even had a moment's pause when she did something like that. That just is NOT acceptable behaviour with me.

Hmmm, I'm not sure I'm that obsessed over TB really. I mean I love the story to bits but I had to guess the answers to all those questions on Seiyuu. I only know Koyasu voiced Seishirou, and that was all.

Muddling Along

I guess I'm sad about missing people lately. So many people have moved, gone on vacation/college or for some reason, been left without internet access that I've been left feeling lonely. Thank goodness Jess has been around to be my partner in crime. *huggles* Anyway, guys, if you're back online and on AIM, come poke me, I miss you all!

Watched The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen this weekend with Alison (hooray for vouchers, and I forgot I wanted to say thanks for the movie!) Since I had no expectations of the show, it didn't turn out too bad. Now why is it that American shows are so fond of making the poor Englishman the villain? The more stiff upper lipped the accent, the more likely the poor fellow is going to turn out to be the bad egg. You can easily spot the one betraying the group that way, simply by crossing out accents. Anyway Alison and I liked Dorian Gray, despite it all ^__^

I'm alive

Realized I'd not blogged in ages, so this post is basically to let people know that yes, I am alive. Went out on Friday with Meia, Alison and Aine and had a good time. And good loot too! I bought the Matantei Loki Ragnarok artbook (on sale, WHEE!) and a very pretty MaLoki pencil board while out. But a thought came to me while I was on the train yesterday. While I love Loki like crazy now, I remain firmly a Subaru fangirl. The X storyline is the only one that I end up thinking of while I'm idling and it's X that I get plot bunnies for. Why? I don't know. *Sighs* I'm sighing because the fandom seems so dead and I still can't help liking it so much. I'm so hopeless. By the way Mizu, I'd like to hear your rant on Clamp.

I blew up the stove ~_~

I always used to think that stories of people who exploded their stoves were urban legends, it never happens to you. But guess what, it did to me today. I was trying to cook something to eat and when I switched on the gas and stuck the lighter forward... Ka-Boom! The whole thing went up. There was a huge gush of flame too and the pot, which had hot water, went everywhere. It's a miracle I wasn't burnt at all. Whew! Anyway, I managed to put the fire out by switching off the gas. My dad though was trying to be helpful and struggling with the fire extinguisher and somehow set it off after I got the fire out. So the mess was incredible. And yeah, I'm a bit shakey now. I'm going to stick to the microwave and oven for a while I think. I also feel so bad, like an incompetent SIM with no cooking skills. *sobs*

I have to say that Matantei Loki Ragnarok is kicking serious ass as far as me finding something new to obsess over. Ep 15 just gets me all aglow over the Father-son bonding between Loki and Fenrir. And HotOlder!Loki angsts!! Wheee! Why am I so happy about that you might ask? Well she and I have been fangirling over Loki and Narugami and in one RP we did, I had Loki start angsting and she bapped me! My defence was "He's gorgeous! He's got green eyes! And a wand! And a magical transformation act! Forgive me if I forgot he wasn't a CLAMP character!" At any rate, Loki angsts in Ep 15! So ha! I'm happy now that I can get away with making Loki angst.

Well, desperation over the drought in X saw me flipping through my X manga 16, following a tip off from Cocoa that Seishirou does a nifty coat trick in it, and whatdaya know, he does! Go look at page 48 of X16 now! You gotta give the man points for style.

Goodness, this Pirates of the Caribbean slash that Sailormac found is just so wrong. *dies giggling*

I have a sudden urge to write Get Backers fanfiction. I think it must be from an overdose of Get Backers last weekend. Someone please kill me now. I was just so bored from the total deadness that is the X fandom, no thanks to Clamp's 3 month hiatus. Now I'd like to know why I can't find a category for Get Backers at Fanfic net. Strange. No Mantantei Loki Ragnarok either, which is the other story that has gripped my mind lately. Hmmm, time to go haunt the Kinokuniya for Loki manga.

Fic Site update

After a couple of months spent not being able to update my fanfic site till I was ready to despair, I finally got in today and voila, made an overhaul. Behold Butterfly Dreams. I'm glad Ger was able to help me with the problem. We discovered that there was a tiny tiny change to the password. *glomps Ger* Thanks. The good thing about the overhaul is that I discovered that I have in the short space of one year, put out 46 chapters of stuff, many of them co-written of course, but still, I have to say I'm rather astonished.
