Things That Bug Me

Not surprising, but really makes me hate ~~the south~~ most of America even more
Creationism makes me mad Namely Christian creationism. Why? Because people need to realize that even if a story in the bible, such as creationism, is proven wrong, which it all but has been, it doesn't mean the whole religion itself is proven wrong. Creation stories existed in most cultures to explain the unexplainable. Like Greek Mythology. They had the story of Helios, god of the sun, because they didn't know that it was a giant continuous nuclear reaction. Now we know and we look at Greek Mythology as a simple story, yet at one time, you wouldn't dare cross Helios, or any god, because maybe the sun would disappear and you would die.
Remember when punishments used to fit crimes? I know, it's been a while. In yet another example of what happens when Congress is controlled by the people they care about, being rich lobby groups, not you, sharing a movie or a song prior to its commercial release is now a federal crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Yeah that's right. The punishment for illegally recording a film in a theatre is now more severe than the punishment for manslaughter God Bless America indeed!

This guy shares my feelings on Georgia's lametarded alcohol laws. I've seriously beenall the way to the register on at least four seperate occasions and had my bottle of wine taken away because of these dumb laws.
The problem is, the 21st amendment allows states to regulate the sale of alcohol in any way they see fit. And, ironically, there is no separation of church and state at the state level. As long as the Baptists are running the show, we have to play by their rules on Sunday and we can’t teach evolution in schools. Nice. I’m actually blushing as I write this because I’m embarassed for Georgia.

Military Gay Policy Costing Talent Sounds like great news at first, but then again, Congressional studies also determined that marjuana should be decriminalized back in the late 70's, but that got written off as crap by the executie branch, as did another Congressional study on pornography and its effects on society, also put out in the late 70's.
Most Americans don't know their right from their left ... wing. The right knows this and leads the manipulation race.
Students' lack of knowledge about the government and law frightens me Out of 112,003 high school students surveyed, 75% believe it is illegal to burn the flag as a form of public protest and also this gem: 35% believe to some extent that the First Amendment goes too far in the rights it guarantees. I know surveys of high school students aren't the most reliable, but if those numbers are anywhere near the truth we are in trouble.
Although it happened way back in January, I thought that this was pretty sad, and funny, and sad...
A CIA report predicts that American global dominance could end in 15 years.

Not All Bad

Idiot number one. Congratulations to John Edwards on his one electoral vote. Better luck next year Nader.
Idiot number two. May I add, beautiful timing, and a job well done.
So, apparently the military is going to increase drug testing in Afghanistan. But what if the soldiers just want to help the fragile economy over there?
What happens when we take our eye off of our real threats? They begin a military build-up of course.
This doesn't really surprise me, but it makes me feel ashamed of my country, "the land of the free."
This gets really repetitve, but I just wish everyone knew what kind of problems we're about to get into. The environment is screwed. And why? Because the end times are coming, at least the ultra-religious conservatives will tell you that. Well I have news for them:

Besides, every generation has it's apocolypse theory.
When you see things like this, it's impossibly hard to believe that there's not going to be a draft.
Yet another installment of, "Where are all those red state values?" The numbers shown are the number of teen parents per 1000 in each particular state. While I have to say good job to North Dakota, once again the true applause goes to Mississippi.
The good news? Republicans in Congress are going to start challenging Bush more during the next four years. The bad news? They make Bush seem almost Liberal.
