They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. --Benjamin Franklin

Finally sitting down with a link dump. A lot of this is really old, but still relevant. Have fun!

Sad Day
Thursday, March 31, 2005 11:46 a.m.

I'd like to take this post to send a big "Fuck You" out to Bob and Mary Schindler. Not only did you turn your own daughters death into a national spectacle, but look what else you've done. Congratulations.

On the Outside Looking In
Tuesday, March 29, 2005 07:45 p.m.

China wrote up a report on the state of human rights in America. Unfortunately it will only be written off as them dang pesky commies tryin' to influence our politics. Gahook!

Seriously though, who are we to judge other countries human rights records, when our own is so dismal?

That disclaimer came on before the Simpson's tonight. What the hell?

See What Happens?

What happens when, in your gay-hating haste, you pass an amendment to your state constitution, banning homosexuals from getting married? It has unexpected consequences.

I Spiked Santa's Eggnog
Saturday, December 25, 2004 09:44 p.m.

Well, since it is Christmas, and I'm 500 miles away from my future posting folder, I thought that I'd hold with the day, and present to you The History of Christmas. I recently had an opportunity to see a presentation at a local planetarium involving most of the information at this webpage. It was put together really well and fun to watch. Wondering about Christmas in America? Well, here you go. But anyway, hope you all had a good day with your family or a dumpster!

Idiot!
Tuesday, December 21, 2004 02:54 p.m.

So, everything should be archived now. If you missed something, you can go to the archives and find it.
  • Idiot number one. Congratulations to John Edwards on his one electoral vote. Better luck next year Nader.
  • Idiot number two. May I add, beautiful timing, and a job well done.
  • So, apparently the military is going to increase drug testing in Afghanistan. But what if the soldiers just want to help the fragile economy over there?
  • What happens when we take our eye off of our real threats? They begin a military build-up of course.
  • This doesn't really surprise me, but it makes me feel ashamed of my country, "the land of the free."
  • This gets really repetitve, but I just wish everyone knew what kind of problems we're about to get into. The environment is screwed. And why? Because the end times are coming, at least the ultra-religious conservatives will tell you that. Well I have news for them:
Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you. -Revelation 3:3
Besides, every generation has it's apocolypse theory.
  • When you see things like this, it's impossibly hard to believe that there's not going to be a draft.
  • Yet another installment of, "Where are all those red state values?" The numbers shown are the number of teen parents per 1000 in each particular state. While I have to say good job to North Dakota, once again the true applause goes to Mississippi.
  • The good news? Republicans in Congress are going to start challenging Bush more during the next four years. The bad news? They make Bush seem almost Liberal.
