11:53 p.m. i skipped 103 tutorial again. i didnt mean to, and i felt really terrible for skipping it, but i just didnt have the courage to enter the classroom half an hour late. all eyes on me, and my presence (or the lack of it) wouldnt make any difference. but i felt bad about it. went for 816 lecture, and realised the whole slot was for students' presentations. in the end i didnt attend the one that i should, and attended the one that i shouldnt. met up with yimyiu, yiling, michelle, kiaying and huiyi to celebrate kiaying's birthday in advance. we went to the cafe cartel at plaza singapura. the service there was surprisingly good. and we sort of disturbed the staff a while. a lot of funny things happened, like being embarrassed when we squinted our eyes to read the discount conditions at the cashier, and then the waiter subsequently brought it nearer for us to read. hahahaha. also when kiaying wanted her slice of cake, the name of the cake was "aunt amy chewy fudge" or something like that, yimyiu placed the order and said "can we have a slice of auntie amy?" followed by a series of uncontrollable laughter and imagination of a woman-- auntie amy-- emerging out of the kitchen and responds: "who called me??" ahhaha it was really hilarious. and service was great. on the train home, i saw karen and kennise! hahaha talked to them, and again we talked about a lot of stuffs. i want to go hk with them in december. hopefully i can meet someone in hk.... hahahah. getting excited over something that is nine months later. saw the trailer for le femme desperado. even though its only 20 seconds long, its enough to make me want to rent it immediately after the exams. too bad i have to wait until end of may for the whole 22 episodes to be available for rental. should i s/u CS816? or should i s/u chinese cinema? i have only two more pathetic days to think about the s/u options, as well as to complete the 105 project that never seem to end.
10:21 p.m. today submitted my name for CS227: web design and management for special sem. i didnt know which sem it belongs to, until a few minutes ago when i checked, and it belongs to special sem 2. which is from 19 jun to 21 jul. aaaaaahhh. i dont want it to be during my birthday!! and i want to go hongkong during this period of time! shall check with yimyiu on the hk trip first before accepting it in april. but a good thing is that there is no exam for the module. the florachan.com forum is flooded with dissidents, initially towards flora's alleged boyfriend cum manager, mike chung. but now the focus is shifted to the webmistress, grace. haiz. what in the world has happened to the once crowded and booming forum? ever since ph created a new forum, the cinple forum for flora has drastically died down. the good old days are gone. cant get used to not having to switch on the television around this time. haaha. congratulations to jessica for winning two awards in the 2006 next awards!! but poor jessica had a fall while filming her new show. lalalalalalala. im already at the post-exams planning stage. work, save money, go hongkong, eat sleep, play, watch tv, but special sem was never in my plan. so now i have to change some plans. wednesday, 29 march 2006 watched a series of singapore short films. i cried during the film titled "mother". even though it was less than 5 minutes, the film effectively conveyed the typical feelings of a child towards his mother. and i started crying uncontrollably when it just started. luckily nobody was sitting beside me. riches and stitches last episode!!! i didnt expect it to be nice because there werent anymore scenes of heung ling. spoliers! two other main cast died in the last episode. so a total of 4 main cast left the show: chun cheung, heung ling, tong tong and chung seng. and the very last part showed the remaining cast, chui lung, ho dong and chun hang, walking into the then-imperial kitchen separately. when chui lung heard approaching footsteps (coz she reached first), she turned around to face the door. and that was the end. and i went "wah lau what kind of ending is this?!?" yeah so RAS has an ambiguous ending. its up to the audience to decide whose footsteps those were of. and i think its good that no one ended up together. with so many people around them dying, i dont think they will have the mood to go into a relationship that quickly. haiz. luckily i didnt decide to buy the vcds. sorry meiqi. didnt have the mood to start on the press release. i was walking in and out of my room, thinking of what to write, and thinking of escaping it but knew i couldnt, and eventually completed it at 3am. hahahaa.
11:37 p.m. stayed in the CATI lab for 2 hours after lectures to deal with the dumb SPSS. i was working on it with alicia and marilvyn, while alvina was slacking. ahhahaha. never mind la. marilvyn got into a laughing fit when i pronounced statistics as "statitic", the way it would sound as if i have a stutter. hahahaha. and i have to do a press release for it which i havent started yet, and its due tomorrow. today was episode 29 of riches and stitches. the episode in which heung ling died from an "accident" planned by chung seng. grrr. so the last episode tomorrow wouldnt be that nice anymore. 2 more weeks to exams. study study study. 105 105 105. 105 deters me from going into communication research in year three. yawns. as promised, the photos of the month.

11:21 p.m. another block blogging. never mind la hor. today SPSS is driving me nuts. it couldnt computate a bar chart with two variables comparing the counts. and when i asked kenny who was there, he said, "can i help my students first coz they are in big trouble?" ok fine, but his students were nowhere near trouble, all they were doing was making a hell lot of noise. when he came over to me, and i explained my problem, he thought for a while, and replied, "i think i need to think about it first, its very complicated leh." he is so incompetent la, i felt as if i know more SPSS than him even though ive only been figuring with it for 2 hours in the lab, compared to his 4 years with the SPSS. of course i wasnt satisfied with his answer, but didnt bother asking him anymore coz i figured he wouldnt be of much help anyway. yunxin was playing a game during 107. it looked fun, but when i tried it, i was stumped. and i couldnt get past level 11. tired. photos will come at the end of the month. or maybe tomorrow. anytime when im free. including photos of the wedding and hoying. =) sunday, 26 march 2006 annie zehzeh's wedding day two at home in the morning. slacked a bit coz the due date for 105 is changed to 4 april, and i cant do any data analysis without SPSS at home. dressed up and went to ritz carlton again for the dinner. when we reached, everyone was dressed to the nines. it was like a ball. for the younger ones, they dressed like they were going to prom night. i wore my prom dress anyway. took photos, waited for quite long before we entered the ballroom. zhijun was sharp to spot cynthia koh amongst the high profile guests and friends from my cousin-in-law's side. and we lingered outside the toilet to reconfirm whether it was her when she went to the toilet. but we didnt do anything la. during the first half of the dinner, i was very quiet. because our family was sitting at a different table from my other cousins. so yongjie and i were the youngest at our table, and the rest of the people werent my relatives at all either. videos were shown, the newlyweds appeared and were "played" by the hosts, gina and yong. (gina tan is actually a singer or actress, i cant remember, and she is the cousin of my cousin-in-law, gerald.) the standard yum-seng and the standard photo taking sessions per table. food was absolutely delicious! much much better than the measly prom food 2 years ago. even though the portion was quite small, the quality was oooh! thumbs up. decor was elegant too. i think it cost more than two bombs for the dinner. didnt have much entertainment so we seeked our own. yongjie and i were playing with the digicam, trying to shoot artistic shots of the red wine and roses. then the cousins and our nieces and nephews went outside to play the piano. we walked around trying to spot where cynthia koh was seated. the female cousins and aunties had a gathering in the toilet. before we left, we took two stalks of roses from the display. yongjie commented that i was stupid to take those with short stems. then sherlynn zehzeh turned around and answered: "eh! i took for her one leh! cannot arh?" and yongjie went oops. when we were walking out of the ballroom, zhijun, andrea and i were near cynthia koh's table. and i told zhijun that i dared to approach her. and i did. she was surrounded by a group of guy friends. i went over, said hi, and asked if i could take a photo with her. and her friend joked: "wanna take photo with me too?" hahaha i just smiled la. hahaha. saturday, 25 march 2006 annie zehzeh's wedding day one went to irene yeema's house at good old pasir ris in the morning. i didnt see annie zehzeh leaving the house, so i could only see her come home with her hubby for tea ceremony. it was pretty rushed coz initially it was scheduled to start at 11am but it was pushed back by an hour. papa was the one chopping the roast pork this time but i didnt get to eat any. tea ceremony, phototaking, and off we went to ritz carlton for solemnisation ceremony. you must be thinking: wah so grand! go to ritz carlton for solemnisation. haha yeah. my cousin-in-law is from a pretty rich developer family. anyway, we reached early, so we had some tea, coffee and snacks, free of charge. =) and took photos again. auntie karen was the enthusiastic one, taking all the photos. i posed with her for 5 times. ahhahaha. it took quite some time before the other guests arrived and the ceremony to start. a lot of businessmen and rich people went, so we seemed like the poor folks in one corner. hahaha. probably because yongjie, jiawei, zhilun and zhijun didnt attend, thats why i felt a little out there with my other cousins and nieces. after the solemnisation, it was high tea!! ate and chatted among ourselves (the aunties and cousins). and then i went home. hahaha like no climax. but really nothing much la. watched jacky show (zhou ri ba dian dang, i shall use the english name from now onwards) which was totally hilarious. and then eVonne appeared on the show again. eVonne's probably the artiste that appeared in it for the most number of times. and she never fails to be paired with jacky wu. hahaha. yongjie rewatched his whatever show, and realised that he told me to tape the wrong show! darn.
11:38 p.m. i dont really like blogging for a few days at one go, because thoughts are lost during the transition. but i have no choice, because i was either too tired or too busy. haiz. and i wasnt in a pleasant mood anyway. today was in a mad frenzy at home in the morning. will not talk about it. skipped 103 tutorial for the first time coz i was half an hour late, and i felt bad going in late and disturbing everyone else. project crisis for 105 coz we were stuck at the analysis part. 816 presentation. the people that stayed for the presentations were the groups that were presenting today. 4 groups presented today, and by the time the last group presented, there were only 3 audiences left: me, yunxin and sikeng. excluding the professor. and it lasted until 715pm. yongjie asked me to tape show for him but i wasnt home yet. so i called papa who was at home to tape for him. i told him to put the panasonic tape in and just press record. but when i reached home, i realised papa had rewinded the tape all the way to the beginning to tape that whatever show yongjie wanted. his rationale: there wasnt enough space in the tape. he said he used his initiative to rewind for more space. i clearly remembered that the tape was hardly used. and i checked it, and found out that he mistook the right side for the leftover amount. and there goes my wenfang captures in the star idol finals. half and hour worth of wenfang gone because of yongjie's whatever show. i was pissed but got over it eventually. which proves my point of view that i never trust anyone with my tapes. they either delete my content or tape other shows instead of the designated ones, or they simply forgot to tape. things are just not going too smoothly. thursday, 23 march 2006 was a little high during lunch with marilvyn and alvina. but the old saying le ji sheng bei had taken effect on me. was feeling very stressed during 105 tutorial coz every group was struggling with their SPSS and data analysis, and michele didnt have time to help us out because some other groups hung themselves on michele for a long long time, being inconsiderate to other groups. then the 107 tutorial was the most torturous and uncomfortable one in this semester. we were supposed to make a simple website using publisher to practice web writing. three other assigned groupmates were discussing among themselves and getting all fazed by the magnificent website that they were going to land themselves on. they rattled on and i interrupted by saying that we needed to get started with the writing. then they made a wonderful plan on what to put in the website and what to feature in it, what designs to use, what pictures to put, and all sorts of things that were "all talk no action". all of them didnt know how to use publisher, so i was naturally the one doing the stuffs. then they complained that the website was ugly. and they fussed over the graphics and the non-important stuffs and in the end the content was rubbishy. when chopra came over to see our work, they even had the audacity to say it was ugly to her. it wasnt ugly lor. just that they had expected it to look splendid with flash and glam designs. hello?!?!? how long were we given? 45 minutes!! if i can do such a job within 45 minutes then i need not study already; i could be a web designer. but no! compared to other groups' work, ours seemed simple and neat and sufficient (except for the content) and yet they complained and indirectly pushed the blame on me. later when chopra praised the other group for putting the latest information on the home page, they nodded in agreement and enthusiastically. but when i told them earlier that the latest news should be put on the home page, they shrugged as if to disagree with me. what the... i so wanted to curse. i was super pissed with them. i never had a good impression for one of the three. and this incident just proved me right on her attitude. luckily this time was just a practice. i will NEVER want to work with her. i was further pissed with the police post's ineffeciency when i went to change my address. two computers, two policemen at the desk. one person reporting a lost handphone. the free policeman said the free computer couldnt access the address update programme. then a new case came in and the free policeman took the case, leaving me waiting for half an hour. why cant they just make both computers available for the service?? wasted my time. wednesday, 22 march 2006 watched crouching tiger, hidden dragon. it is a pretty nice film, but it has a sad ending. they finally show some nice movies during chinese cinema class. but i felt that the title should be sleeping tiger, hidden dragon, because wo hu cang long means letting the tiger sleep and the dragon hide. but why crouching?? ahahah anyway even though it doesnt have the same meaning, crouching sounds nicer than sleeping. went for radio fusion roadshow for a while. approached one senior, and she told me that radio fusion is actually a radio practicum that only CS people can take. yay. so i might be taking it next semester if they offer it. oh no, it means i wont be having a cca eventually.

11:21 p.m. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEIQI! hope you've had a wonderful birthday overseas! =D nothing much happened in school. im thinking of joining radio fusion, coz im a cca-less person in school, and it will probably reflect bad in my testimonial. ahhaha shall go to its open house this wednesday. started watching dif4. ive taped it and rewatched it many times when i was still in pasir ris, but now im rewatching it on vcd version. ahahha ive forgotten who the killers were in the show, so it becomes more exciting to rewatch. i like my eggy clock. its sitting in front of me. i like to pick it up to play on my hands or just push it and see it bounce up like a bu dao weng. if only it doesnt have the ntu logo and the career hub thingy... nothing to blog le. have a nice day everybody.
08:31 p.m. its been way too long since the last time i was here. okay one week is considered quite long, especially when i usually update my blog on a daily basis. have been too busy or too tired. so get ready and be perked up to read on. haaha. the earliest entry will be at the bottom while today's entry will be right after this so-called introductory welcome-back paragraph. today i skipped the first lecture of the term. missed 104 lecture because i went to print the papers to hand in. went for the career fair at nanyang audi. most booths were providing engineering jobs. nothing much, until i saw the CAAS booth. hahah. but they said they are not hiring part time staff at the moment. =( got a few free gifts. i like the egg clock!!! its cute. riches and stitches is getting more exciting. 9 more episodes. 9 more episodes and poor heung ling dies of an unknown reason. haiz. should i post the pictures up? hmm i'll think about it first. hahaha. wednesday, 15 march 2006 watched a crappy movie during chinese cinema lecture. no plot, no dialogue, no starting, no ending, just full of x-rated scenes that do not make sense. a million question marks appeared above my head. hopefully they dont show such senseless movies again. cant they just show a normal movie for us to evaluate?? haiz. came home, and by chance, i watched jack and sarah. didnt want to change channels coz the baby sarah is super super cute! it is a british romance movie about a widower, jack, and his infant child, sarah. the baby is absolutely adorable, and its a miracle that the producers can find two babies that look alike to act the 14-month-old and the 3-year-old versions. i love shows with happy endings. le femme desperado will be aired in hk soon. yay. hopefully one month later, the full version will be available for rental, then i can spend my holidays watching more meiheng. there is news about flora admitting that her new boyfriend is her manager, mike. hmmmm seriously i dont really like mike, but if flora really likes him, then i will give her my blessings. beauty is in the eye of the beholder. finally finished my 107 broadcast script and 105 budget. haiz. i still have 104 optional paper, 816 presentation, and the tedious 105 project 2. tuesday, 14 march 2006 after school ended at 12pm, i went to the airport. met up with jean while the rest took their time to arrive. finally took photos of the burger king wallpaper. coz i like the airplane wallpaper. hahahaha. when karen, jasmine, cindy and kennise arrived, we went to popeye's for lunch. they told us about what happened after we left, and nice jasmine helped me get hoying's autograph! thanks! and they told hoying that im XL. (......) i havent been called XL ever since primary school. ahahaha. lydia reached, and we went down to the departure hall to wait. we stood around and chatted about everything, from kennise not being able to sell her business law textbook to cindy drinking coke light and becoming high. when we were looking at photos, suddenly someone came from behind us and said "tai gan meh arh?" and we got a shock coz someone just appeared out of nowhere behind us. guess what?? that was hoying!! she came directly to us!! and peeked at what we were doing. ahahahha. we didnt realise that they arrived. and unlike other artistes, she came to us and greeted us! =D while frankie was checking in, hoying was talking to us. and later photos were taken, autographs were taken and gifts were presented to her. she remembers my name! ahahah. all thanks to their XL. and she remembers cindy by "pok pok chui". so from then on we are going to call cindy "pok pok chui", probably even until the next time we meet up. and cindy has started calling me suet lam and XL. lydia and hoying are like friends. i always envy people who can remove themselves from their "fan" identity to become friends with artistes. because i feel that it is difficult at the beginning to even establish the friendship. and that means to sacrifice photos, autographs, and other fan activities. many interesting things happened at the airport, i wont elaborate further. hoying and frankie went into the customs after bidding us goodbye. they should actually enter by the right entrance because it would be much nearer to the D gates than the left entrance. it so happens that ive worked inside before. they listened to someone who told them to enter by the left entrance, and eventually they had to carry the heavy stuffs until the right entrance where the trolleys were. so that ends the 4-day tour with dai zeh dai lydia, pok pok chui cindy, auntie kennise, everything-also-sign jasmine, flower karen, and the-first-name-hoying-recognised-at-first-sight jean. =) it was a nice experience, and from it, i felt that hoying is a really nice and honest person. =D monday, 13 march 2006 after all that going-outs with one of my favourite group of friends, i couldnt wake up in time for lessons. i flew to school in a cab. school went on as usual. after school i met up with karen, cindy and jasmine at marina square for dinner. kennise came after dinner and we set off from there to fullerton. jean was already there when we were still waiting for the bus. the stupid bus 97 took ages to come, so we boarded the citybuzz that was meant for tourists. there was only one passenger on the upper deck, while we were all at the lower deck. previously i saw that if students were to board the citybuzz with an accompanying adult, the student need not pay. so we approached the bus driver, and he said we need a daypass. and he passed us the brouchure. but it didnt state that we need any daypass. so we disturbed the driver and very soon, we didnt bother about the student pass thingy. instead we focused on making fun of the driver. hahaha i think that was the first time he met such a crazy bunch of adults. but nevertheless, i think we brought him some entertainment coz he seemed bored from driving a vehicle that was empty 99% of the time. when we reached fullerton, we just nice caught up with lydia, jean and hoying! so the 11 of us settled down at the lobby and got some drinks. hoying was very nice, she wanted us to introduce ourselves. and when it was my turn, i had no idea why i uttered such silly words. i was supposed to start with introducing my name, but i said "i am schooling". then i suddenly realised and she also realised how blur i was and then i told her my name. ahha that was silly. then cindy's turn. when she told hoying that she is eighteen, hoying commented "sap bak sui, pok pok chui". then we laughed, but cindy had no clue to what that phrase meant. hahaha. lydia and her friends did most of the conversation with hoying, while we listened attentively. a lot of interesting stuffs and behind-the-scenes stuffs were discussed. ahhaha im not telling the contents... anyway it was content overload that i need time to recall. hoying can really chat! she chatted with us from 10pm all the way till 12am. jean, her friend pamelia, and i had to leave early coz of their parents, and my darn early lesson. took a limousine cab home that cost about 20 bucks. so i took cab from and to home today. took photos with hoying before we left. came online and chatted with jean. we were very curious about the progress of the conversation with hoying, so i messaged cindy, and they were still talking!!! they talked until reaching 2am. haiz. i should have stayed coz i eventually slept at only 2 plus. if not for the fact that i have a dumb 9am lesson the next day, i would have stayed!! haiz. sunday, 12 march 2006 went to whampoa to visit my grandparents and gujie. was sleeping on popo's bed when i received cindy's message to go out. so i met up with her and jasmine and karen at raffles city's starbucks. we had great fun telling stories and laming around. suddenly someone pressed my shoulders. i turned around to see auntie jennie and jiawei! ahahah. they were there shopping while uncle tengliat, zhilun and zhijun were playing pool at some club. yay i will be seeing them soon. after sitting for about an hour, we went to walk around raffles city shopping centre. then while shopping for karen's goggles, we received a call from kennise to go to a open-air hawker centre near allson hotel. lydia and kennise arrived and lydia treated us to a vegetarian meal. 90% of the food had chilli. so i didnt eat much. lydia saw it and she was surprised that i dont eat chilli. so do jasmine and herself! ahahah so we were the "happy meal" people. -_-" ktv session in lydia's car again. =D saturday, 11 march 2006 went to bishan junction 8. jasmine was the earliest there, then the rest arrived one by one. quite a lot of people there when i reached. saw eileen's friends, and shun bian asked them to help fill up my survey. thanks! idled there for a while, before lydia arrived with a whole stack of hoying's photos. happily looking through them when i spotted a picture with sunny and passed to jasmine, while she spotted one with flora and passed to me. ahahaha. mmmm we chatted for a while, and i went to the toilet. right on the dot when i returned, people started standing up. at what time?? 230pm!! gosh are those people stupid or what? in the end we stood for almost an hour, with smelly perspiration and constant pushing from the back. the tvb stars arrived after 322pm, coz i looked at my watch. ahha. anyway, frankie, kenix, elaine and kevin surprisingly looked fresh and cool despite the blazing hot weather. each of them talked about their dramas, sang songs, and played games. the games part was fun, because the bulk of the audience were actively participating in it. at least everyone had fun even if autographs couldnt be taken. after the event, we left for tampines mall. jasmine stayed to queue coz she wasnt sure whether she would be going for the tampines mall event or not.. but in the end she gave up waiting la. ahahha. cindy, kennise and i took lydia's car to tm. and cindy went super high. hahaa. arrived at tm with jean already there. but the weather didnt look good and soon it rained. the lousy tm open plaza doesnt have a fully-sheltered audience area, so the rain was pouring right smack at the front. the tampines mall event was one of the worst that ive ever went. firstly, some arsehole touched my butt. i scolded the hell out of him, and all he could say was sorry. i told the rest about it, and kennise wanted to call the police. then lydia got to know about it and her big-sister character showed when she wanted to punch the guy up. but there wasnt any evidence so we let the matter rest. secondly, an uncle appeared out of nowhere in the middle of our group and in the end we were circling the uncle. and he simply refused to budge from his auspicious spot. we gave up and let him take the front area, and that was the only time he responded to us. -_-" the event started late due to the rain. so there wasnt any games. during the whole waiting and viewing process, there was a mother carrying a baby standing behind lydia and cindy. and guess what? the baby started drooling, he put his finger in his mouth, and stretch forth to wipe it on the people in front!! and the mother didnt care!! poor lydia and cindy were molested by the baby and his saliva. and the people at tm were super rude. they pushed as if they never pushed in their whole lives before. and when i turned around to scold the man who was obviously pushing, he denied that he pushed: "wo mei you!" and he did it again and this time i didnt give him any face. "you obviously pushed and yet you keep denying and put the blame on others!" i said in mandarin. and he kept quiet. frigging hell. go push a broken-down bus since you like pushing so much. we didnt stay for the autograph. hahaha in the end jasmine stayed throughout the tm event so she got the autographs. and she later squealed that she was running late for her cousin's birthday chalet. ahahhaah she sacrificed her cousin for 4 autographs. had dinner with cindy, karen, kennise, lydia and her 3 other friends. we chatted about lots of stuffs. i love riding in lydia's car. it will always be a ktv session at the back seats and we really crapped about everything. as a result i didnt do any work. ahaha. and was too tired.
11:23 p.m. the bus stop outside cs building is really weird. when the sun shines, the shelter will not shade the people under it, instead the sunlight will still shine onto the people. the shadow of the shelter, however, casts about one metre behind the bus stop. it is thus funny to see people standing in the shadow in the open instead of the bus stop shelter. and if it rains with the sun, everyone will be crowded in the tiny covered walkway to the bus stop. so what is the use of the bus stop shelter?? hahah. joanna came to my house after school to gather the tv ratings from my i-weeklys. ahhaha thats when my magazine collection can be put to good use. meeting my jsfc friends tomorrow! yippie.
11:37 p.m. today its been a long time since the the last entry. work has been piling and im here to spend a wee bit time to record down what has happened during these few days of missing in action. one whole lump of words. beware!! hahahha. finally finished the 104 assignment!! a big load off my mind, but here comes 107 assignment due next thursday, and 816 presentation next next week and finally the 105 project 2. super busy and tired. im addicted to the themesong of le femme desperado, sung by miriam yeung. i cant wait for the show to be released in may. speaking of which, wenfang's new movie will also be released in may. yay. and i got full marks for ph's game! its been soo long since i got full marks. annie zehzeh's getting married again on 26 march. im quite excited about it, but when i think of going to school the next day and the coming exams, i suddenly feel more stressed than excited. wednesday, 8 march 2006 watched days of being wild, aka ah1 fei1 zheng4 zhuan4 during chinese cinema lesson. the show started with leslie cheung and maggie cheung in a drink stall where maggie worked. leslie wooed her and they went together in a flash. but leslie's character didnt like getting married, thus he dumped maggie. he hooked up with carina lau's character, but leslie's friend, jacky cheung, liked carina. leslie went in search for his biological mother in phillipines. jacky decided to give up and gave his blessings to carina and leslie. carina went to phillipines to look for leslie but to no avail. meanwhile, the devastated maggie met a nice policeman, andy lau. they became friends. maggie changed jobs to sell tickets at a stadium. soon after, andy quitted and became a sailor. he went to phillipines and met leslie. on a train back to hong kong, leslie was shot by some local ruffians. in the next scene, a man was combing his hair and was getting dressed to go out. he was tony leung chiu-wai. then the end. like you and i, everyone in the lt went "HUH?!?!" thats the characteristics of wong kar-wai films. ambiguous plots that feature extraordinary cast, long unnecessary scenes and abrupt endings. there are no endings to any of the characters in the show. my lecturer says all his films added together will form a large movie. i probably dont have the ability to understand his films, like the common people. we were confused about why tony leung appeared in the very last scene out of nowhere. the only two things that i understood of the movie were the one-minute quote and the legless bird quote. the one-minute quote is the original quote that healing hands 3 took to put in the drama. the part with sarah and the other doctors at panorama in episode 28. i laughed a bit when they said that quote because i was reminded of HH3. did housework, and was super tired. and i havent finished my 104 assignment.

the legless bird quote: tuesday, 7 march 2006 finished crimson sabre. the ending was.... err, hmm. ahhaha. i could say it was a nice ending for ha suet yee and wan sin. as for the yuen shing chi-ah gau-ching ching triangle, i have no comments because i feel alright for either one to be with the fella. and like the usual jinyong style, it ended with four people drifting away in a boat to somewhere. jinyong's novels usually end with the main leads heading to some out-of-the-world place or on a journey. it is a clever way of ending because this way, he can continue the characters in other titles if he wants to. one thing about the drama is that the central lead is actually ha suet yee instead of yuen shing chi, because it revolves around people wanting to locate ha suet yee and his treasure map. yuen shing chi's appearance was only in substitute for ha suet yee's absense in the middle of the show. however, for the novel, the central lead is yuen shing chi, because the story was first introduced to bring out the little boy in the farm (aka yuen shing chi) and later the readers follow his journeys and adventures to go along with the story. in comparison, ha suet yee made a drifting appearance in the novel as a recollection by wan yee and ho hong yeuk. will not make a review of crimson sabre, because whatever thoughts about it have been expressed in the entries after friday. felt that they over-repeated the scene showing wan yee falling into the well and being buried alive by her uncles. that particular scene was repeated at least 5 times. i can almost memorise the scene. and what's with jinyong and the hacking of arms?? yang guo's arm was hacked, and now ah gau's arm was hacked. haiz. i dislike yuen shing chi's indecisiveness about ah gau and ching ching. just decide who he likes and get over with it. why make three people so troubled? the actors of the show are quite good, but like ive said, they could have found a prettier actress for ching ching's role. monday, 6 march 2006 watched 5 more episodes of crimson sabre. i couldnt wait to watch the parts on wan sin, because the character is not in the novel, and meiheng didnt appear for the past 10 or so episodes. during 107 we had a class quiz, whereby the class was divided into two groups and chopra would shoot questions for the groups to answer. it was quite fun, but the questions asked were all about current affairs. i suck at current affairs, because i dont usually read the straits times, and i dont remember things like the name of the second leader of the al-qaeda. but shilvia was amazing, she knew quite a lot of answers and she saved our group! but we didnt win eventually. nevertheless, i hereby crown shilvia as the current affairs queen. hahha. i must go and read the papers. sunday, 5 march 2006 watched 15 episodes of crimson sabre at one shot. found some research for 104.
11:25 p.m. where can you find the most babies? maybe the hospital, maybe the nursery, but never would you think that a quarter of the people appearing at ikea today were toddlers and babies. gujie and i went to ikea to look for my tv shelf and her kitchen cabinet. the amount of adorable babies and toddlers there was enough to make me feel like having one. watched crimson sabre episodes 6 to 10. poor wan yee. didnt touch any schoolwork today. i was utterly shocked to hear such news from grace. i started recalling the times when i found him cute when he was in sec one, then as he grew up he was more mischievious. i would scold him sometimes because of his behaviour towards his cca, but eventually he became more mature. after my batch left, and came back in the last two years, he had grown to be a fine lad who still loved basketball as he would play with his seniors and friends. and i would always find him perspiring like nothing, just like when he was in sec 2 and i usually talked to him about coming in for practice in perspiration. he would listen and change for the better. even though i was far from close to him, i cried for a half an hour after receiving the news. i have no idea why he chose that path, and i am in no position to give any comments. hope he finds what he wanted in another place. i will always remember him.
11:53 p.m. today HAPPY BIRTHDAY MELISSA! melissa my senior, haha not melissa ng. =) im spending a lot of money this week, most of which were on taxi fares. i shall start going to school early from next week. was deciding whether i should rent the vcds or not, and eventually i found myself inside the rental store at yishun. the store has good business, with so many people renting the newest tvb dramas. i wonder where these people find time to chase tvb dramas whenever a new show comes out. anyway, i rented the whole set of crimson sabre, not knowing whether it is a correct decision or not, because my cd-rw drive is still spoilt (by the way, it is still under warranty so i can change it for free). came home and watched 2 episodes before stopping to bathe and watch riches and stitches, and continued till episode 5. the beginning of the drama version is different from the novel. the drama started off with hor hong yeuk and her teacher. i was surprised when i saw someone familiar appearing next... joe ma!!! hahhahahaa. he acted as hong yeuk's teacher's fellow disciple cum lover, who stole the golden snake manual and accepted ha suet yee as his disciple. it looks weird that both joe and kong wah have the same lop-sided hairstyle. i use cantonese names for the drama and chinese names for the novel, so be aware of a whole bunch of names mentioned. but anyway, you can skip the parts if you dont like to read about crimson sabre. ahahaha. back to the drama, it follows a time sequence, which makes the show comprehensible, and the current central character is ha suet yee (kong wah). wan yee (melissa ng) appeared in episode 1, looking as innocent and gentle as the actual character depicted in the novel. so far, the characters are alright, and im glad they found a smart-looking boy to act as yuen shing chi, because i have no idea why they used the gong-gong-looking gordon lam for the grown-up version. i like the parts with ha suet yee and wan yee, so i was happy that i didnt have to wait so long to watch their parts. but the poor wan yee will soon die a horrible death, even worse than the novel way. =( ive been watching the kong wah-meiheng dramas lately, that sometimes its difficult to differentiate the characters from other shows. haiz after crimson sabre, its study and revision. hopefully i wont have anymore craves during that time. thursday, 02 march 2006 HAPPY BIRTHDAY GUJIE! started reading crimson sabre. the beginning chapter of every martial arts novel is the hardest to read, because you have no clue to the characters and storyline at all. and the television drama adaptations usually skip or change the characters and story of the front. i was reading it during 104 lecture, and my curiosity got the better of me. i flipped through the back pages, hoping to spot names like wen yi and xia xueyi. wen yi's name first appeared as "qingqing's mother". after reading the part about wen yi, i realised that the new tvb version totally changed the parts of xia xueyi and wen yi. in the novel, their story was brought out by a narration from wen yi to yuan chengzhi. but the drama clearly made xia xueyi alive so that the show wont be totally dominated by yuan chengzhi. i shall talk about the show in due course. wen yi came out for about two chapters and she died. and... wen qian wasnt even in the novel!!! tvb made the character out so that meiheng has more screen time. hhahaha. felt a bit cheated, but never mind, i shall read on to see the difference between the original and the edited. continued with the biblio, and i found myself distracted half the time. so i only completed it at around 2 plus. i like the new starhub ad, with the mother crying. coz darius tay is inside the ad! ahah he's so cute. i think he was cuter when he was in like my own. =) after the slight disappointment from the novel, i have an urge to rent the vcds. wednesday, 01 march 2006 i bought crimson sabre! the book... ahhahaa. intended to use papa's computer to burn discs, but somehow it hanged and it was never able to start again. i panicked and called the service people. but luckily papa said he doesnt have any important stuff inside. haiz. started on the compilation of the biblio and i finished the annotation for the books. tired like nothing so didnt blog.
