10:59 p.m. hiii. its been a long time since i last blogged. quite a lot of things to write about, but i havent had the time and/or mood to blog. and i cant do it today too, because im flying off to hong kong tomorrow, and back on 1st july. which means im spending my birthday in hk. all of a sudden i dont wish to move my butt off to another country, and instead just lie on my comfy bed all day and do nothing. the last time i went, i almost didnt want to board the plane. a whole load of anxiety building up now. just saw the ad on tvbj, the conqueror's story special edition will be shown on sunday, 9.55pm. luckily i can catch it. okay i'll be back 5 days later. with updates before and after. happy early birthday to myself. =)
10:38 p.m. monday, 26 june 2006 packed my stuffs. and the rest of my thoughts are above. haha. sunday, 25 june 2006 work was fine. changed money at century square, only to have realised that tampines mall offered a wee bit higher rate. jj had an autograph session outside century square. i initially wanted to wait for him to come out, but he was seriously taking a long time, and i was too impatient to go back home to rest, so i didnt wait for him. saturday, 24 june 2006 katherine was working at half price, so i was supposed to have another partner for the day. but the person flied kite and i was alone until marie came in place of the person. watched garfield 2 with gujie after work. it was better than garfield 1. some parts were quite hilarious. and i got a garfield tin which was supposed to be a tissue holder. the swarovski pendants will be selling on 8 july. katherine said michelle said we can buy it if we managed to get passengers to buy for us. yays. friday, 23 june 2006 HAPPY BIRTHDAY POK POK POK TSUI! saw the sammi music special on tvbj. missed the first half of it, but it was great! i was watching it while having a sammi karaoke session with the sounds blasting. thursday, 22 june 2006 bad hair day. dont ask. wednesday, 21 june 2006 i won $12 from the brazil and japan match. yongjie dashed into my room while i was still fast asleep and announced that ive won. coz i betted that first half was draw and second hald was brazil winning. haha beginner's luck.
11:13 p.m. registered for my subjects. yesterday night i saw the 228 past year paper, and 70 marks was dedicated to some translation part, which i think i can handle, but it will be either do or die. so in the end i didnt take 228. maybe i might take it as an unrestricted elective. saw the hc805 paper as well, and it looked freaking easy. but yunxin said it looked terribly tough. almost like the sec 3 chinese literature paper, with mcqs and fill in the blanks. im so going to take it in year 3. hopefully they offer it in semester 2. the subject registration was a terror, exhausted half my energy. got very frustrated about the ants from the rice ccoker. they seemed to be living in the empty rice cooker. so much for cleaning it yesterday night, i spent another hour cleaning it and out sprung more ants. i was so annoyed that i wanted to slam the damn cooker on the floor. on second thought, i stopped myself from that, because i would be giving myself more trouble by having to clear the debris from the smashed cooker. i hate ants to the core. cleared up my blog. watching world cup while sending files to ppt. i am in the midst of falling asleep while typing this.
11:31 p.m. today its been a week since i last blogged. some days i have nothing to blog about, but when i have something to write, the starhub server was down. so now im doing it in one shot, and in one whole chunk.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRACEY! went to collect the hk tickets and stuffs. after that, yimyiu, kiaying, tracey and i went to mind cafe while meiqi went dating. had a fun time playing the games, like rat-a-tat cat, the simpsons version of clue, and sleeping queen. the staff were quite nice too. i have been bumping into a lot of people these days. we saw puay leng while crossing the road. when we went into cathay cineplex to use the toilet, we went face to face with vincent ng, who was walking out of the toilet. so its always celebrities linked with toilets. am having a headache with my stupid timetable again. its always during times like this that we get frustrated over the timeslots and subjects. sunday, 18 june 2006 there werent a lot of people at the airport. first time the half price item couldnt be sold finish even after i ended my shift. the MAC staff was being unreasonable when we explained to them about dispensing too many tokens for the wrong receipts. it was the third time, first being last sunday (26 receipts all wrong plus 19 tokens), second yesterday (9 receipts, 3 wrong plus 14 tokens) and third today (10 receipts plus 22 tokens). anyway, the airport has so many staff with serious attitude problem. after work i went to my grandparents' place to celebrate father's day. bought some foodstuffs for yeye and waist tonic for papa, and yongjie bought some branded chocolates for papa. it was the first time i saw him buy something for papa on his own accord. watched the japan and croatia match. it turned out to be a super boring match. the brazil vs australia match was exciting. australia was surprisingly good. i was disappointed when brazil scored the 2nd goal, coz there were so many opportunities for australia to score. i have an impression that the brazil players are quite arrogant because of their skills. yes, they have superior soccer skills, but it doesnt equate to having an upper hand regarding the rules and stuff. oh yeah, they can push others but when others push them they think its a foul. anyway, i hope any other team will win the finals except brazil. saturay, 17 june 2006 HAPPY LUNAR BIRTHDAY YEYE and me! couldnt sleep, so i slept on the sofa. during that 3 hours of sleep, i dreamt that i slept on the sofa. which is ridiculous coz i AM sleeping on the sofa. work was alright. heard from katherine that the july/august half price items will include swarovski pendants! we went to the t2 store to look, their pendants look nice and the original price is $54. and they will be sold at $25. hmmm i might want to get one. watched RV with kennise, karen, jasmine and ppt. it was hilarious. had dinner at a hong kong cafe. the food was quite nice. we celebrated ppt's and my birthday. they got me the bag that i wanted. thanks! :) friday, 16 june 2006 cleaned half my room, not including the magazine and tape stacks. rewatched HH3. thursday, 15 june 2006 went gym with yimyiu and kiaying. wednesday, 14 june 2006 papa approved of me going hk. went down to make payment. rewatched HH3. weeknights are so boring, so i watch dream of colours on tv occasionally.
11:49 p.m. today finally finished watching SOH. a total of 8 characters died. tragic show, interesting plot but somehow the ending was quite slipshod. now i can continue with AMOC, but i dont feel like watching yet another show with a tragic ending. kennise just told me the vcd version of LFD didnt include the 2nd ending. haha luckily i have the 2nd ending, thanks to the efficient hk people. and she just told me to go for it in june, an opportunity too good to be missed. but it isnt up to me now right? im rewatching LFD every day. monday, 12 june 2006 HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACELYN!
met up with yimyiu, kiaying, meiqi and tracey. after a round of explanation, it appeared that i went to the wrong exit to wait for meiqi. -__-" we went to a travel agency at chinatown to book the tickets to hk, but they required us to pay the full sum on the spot. i called papa to reconfirm with him, but it seemed that he forgot that ive already mentioned the hk trip to him twice and he didnt voice any objections then. luckily the nice agency lady allowed me to kiv until wednesday. went for steamboat dinner. had a fun time. but in a dillema.
11:15 p.m. yesterday was alright. there wasnt a lot of people, katherine and i slacked around, until winnie yeung-lookalike came. luckily she didnt scold us for no reason. anyway there wasnt any reason for her to scold us, for that matter. we were happily chatting with rajiv, and there was a counter giving free caps from adam air. what in the world is adam air?? hahhaha the caps were brown and green so i termed it the milo cap. weijing came over to chat during her lunch. and her pay is freaking $10 per hour! same hours as mine! i felt so undercharged, especially since her job was from an agency. and after some chats from rajiv to the milo cap people, he found out that the adam air people are paid $70 a day. haiz. i didnt watch the jessica movie. i was super tired that i forgot about it. but it looked scary from the ads and, you know, scary is not the word for me. papa couldnt resist the temptation and the constant bugging from yongjie, therefore he subscribed the world cup channels on friday just right before the opening match. hmm i think the other three channels are quite redundant but clever starhub made it a set to dig big bucks from the soccer fans. today, katherine the busy woman didnt come. michelle m took her place and we were kept busy with the restocking because the lazy previous shift people didnt stock the stuff. 2 hours later, michelle went to t2 and a newbie came to join me. she's wanxuan and she's quite nice. =) some fellow bought $4786.20 worth of MAC products. apparently he mistook the jackpot conditions and he split the receipts to be just exceeding $125 in cash. he badly wanted to try his luck at the silly jackpot so the MAC cashier came with him and explained the situation. guess what? the cashier issued him 19 tokens! so he happily played the jackpot and returned with 19 pens. but all the receipts were not eligible so all were problematic. he never needs to buy pens anymore. went over to t2 to see if i could see meiqi arriving. but i didnt see her. either she came out too early/late, or i was waiting at the wrong exit. so much for wanting to give her a surprise. welcome back meiqi! ~~ =D my eyes closing soon. shall finish watching SOH tomorrow. grace's flying to vietnam tomorrow. bon voyage~~! =)
10:31 p.m. i never had so much trouble planning my timetable during the past year. CS is not making my life better by not offering 228 next semester. and if i choose 228, i have no ger-pe to choose. if i choose the ger-pe that i want, i cant choose 228 and will never have a chance to choose it next semester. grrr. last episode of women of times. the moment of truth: who will xiyi choose? this 30-episode long drama, with tonnes of people appearing in the beginning, and these people gradually leaving the show either by dying or going to jail, has finally come to a conclusion. im surprised at the rate the producers were cutting the cast, the final count is only less than 10 actors. yongjie and i are good at predicting the next sentence coming from the actors. either that or the scriptwriters are too cliche. when wenfang said "at least the tree has no worries", my immediate response was "此非树，焉知树没烦恼", and chen shucheng voiced out what i said a second ago. and wenfang continued "you are also not a tree, how would you know the tree has worries?" which leads back to the first contradictory sentence. hahaha we enjoy predicting phrases. when it was approaching the final showdown between zengtu and hanzhe, yongjie and i were conjuring up possible scenarios: scenario 1: xiyi picks zengtu. (i wanted xiyi to pick zengtu. will get on with this point later.) scenario 2: xiyi picks hanzhe. scenario 3: xiyi picks none of them, and wants the three of them to remain friends. (i dread this ending, because it reminds me of the horrible ending of square pegs. oh no, not another trio holding hands in a big field.) scanario 4: suggested by yongjie, xiyi picks an australian dude and goes "howdy! g'day mate!" in front of zengtu and hanzhe. scenario 5: also suggested by yongjie, zengtu and hanzhe approach xiyi and tell her, "we dont want you anymore! you think you so dua pai meh?" and walk away, leaving xiyi speechless. scenario 6: when the godpa called, we almost thought xiyi would resort to choosing her godpa. apparently this scenario was crushed the moment she hung up the phone. okay so in the end, scenario 3 won. well, not the hold-hands-in-a-circle type, but with xiyi just walking away leaving the guys to stone, in my opinion it didnt look like a good way to end. a bit abrupt, and very much coldhearted to leave the guys to absorb the shattering news. they'd probably think, "drats! we wasted money on the air ticket while xiyi got hers free." anyways, i wanted xiyi to choose zengtu coz i felt she still loves him. if not, why did she choose to go to paris with him? (if not for the accident) yes, zengtu had cheated on her many times, but she forgave him time and again, because she still loved him. only till the last one and she felt that was the last straw. after that, zengtu became a changed man and she was, quite obviously, glad and had second thoughts about the relationship. hanzhe appeared in her life when she was alone. his constant appearance in sydney made her feel important, especially right after her divorce. he was always by her side whenever she needed someone, and was always giving her surprises that she liked. but from what i viewed, she didnt love hanzhe as much as she loved zengtu. her feelings towards hanzhe was more of a reciprocation. so i wanted her to choose zengtu. both guys are good, but ultimately she should choose the one she loves. and yet... she chose to run away from them. hahah. anyway the above are purely my thoughts (and partly yongjie's), so it doesnt matter if you think xiyi should choose hanzhe. coz eventually scenario 1 and 2 went busted. hahah. time to sleep. before that, i end off with an announcement: love guaranteed will be showing on 17 july, 930pm in hk. which i think, is way too early. i didnt want meiheng to have too much exposure within such a short timeframe. but alas, i should have expected it, since the themesong is already out. haha. time to prepare myself for another drama chase.
10:58 p.m. today yesterday night i didnt sleep a wink. from 12 plus till 5am i couldnt fall asleep, because the da vinci code story was still in my mind. i was scared. hahaha you might think da vinci code is far from scary, but i just cant watch this type of movies. comparatively, i didnt think so much when i watched death trap, which supposedly should be "scarier". in any case, i waited till 5am to tell papa i couldnt sleep, and i had breakfast before popping the magical panadol, and waited till 7am to call anan that i wasnt feeling well. luckily, anan didnt scold me, unlike roph last year. i finally slept at 7am after 7 hours of struggling. after hard fate, tvbj is now showing dream of colours. they are showing all the meiheng shows, after one round of showing all the mariane shows. ooh which reminds me, i need to get a place of one's own before its promotion ends. a whole bunch of vcds are released, such as just love, wenfang's cai xin miao shou and others which i havent bought. wednesday, 7 june 2006 watched air bud: golden retriever before going out to meet the girls. met up with yimyiu and michelle to watch the da vinci code. we missed the first 10 minutes, but after watching the whole movie, i still have a thousand question marks in my head. but i dont want to probe further coz it isnt important. had dinner after kiaying and yiling arrived.
11:25 p.m. got my chinese cinema grade, and luckily i didnt s/u it. i should have s/u 816 instead. tvbj is going to show a jessica movie that ive never seen before this saturday. yay.
11:10 p.m. the world is so unpredictable. i thought i would archive my entries on the 1st, but in the end i only blogged today. today initially going out with yimyiu to the library, but she called in time before i changed to tell me about her starhub interview. so we didnt meet up. watched 3 discs of SOH. i teared when joe committed suicide. personally i felt she was too silly to end her life for ah-man, but she probably chose not to let go of the relationship because she was too tied down by the pressure given by her family to take the helm at work, so she needed someone to be with her to help her with the heavy responsibilities. ahahha anyway there was a picture of joe and kelly which i felt was cute so i captured it. =) watched quite a lot of shows on tv: so you think you can dance, women of times, hard fate, superband results, crosstalk, and 100% entertainment. during the advertisements for SYTYCD, i switched to superband, and saw the performance by milubing. and it was really nice! very crisp and clear, and sounds harmonised. =) lee wai peng was on crosstalk on channel u!! her chinese was quite good, accurate and clear. but i think she processes her thoughts in english before translating them into mandarin. at times she threw in cheem phrases, such as 丰功伟绩 and 剥削. hahhaa and i only used the latter during chinese cinema lessons. but the talkshow had a lousified closing, because the host started on a new topic which seemed interesting and lee wai peng was giving her comments, while the lights dimmed and sounds muted. grrr, i wanted to hear her talk more. results are out, and my results were alright, got pulled down by 816. and the screwed up ntu didnt give me my chinese cinema result! i was so scared they forgot to mark my script, until i called joanna to confirm and she didnt have her grade too. so annoying, now i have to worry about my remaining grade. sunday, 4 june 2006 it was slacker today compared to the overcrowded yesterday. lesser people and the bosses didnt come down. after work i went to my grandparents' place for dinner. just love vcd is out but i wont be buying it so soon. garfield 2: a tale of two kitties will be released this month. yay i want to watch. hopefully it wont be as bad, or worse, than the first one. saturday, 3 june 2006 the opening ceremony of the changi airport 25th anniversary jackpot. because of this event, all the top management people came down to oversee the event. which meant that katherine and i couldnt sit down after 11am, and i had to stand beside the jackpot machine the whole time. i watched the rehearsal for the performance. there were a few guys wearing t-shirt and jeans who started dancing on their own on the stage, and katherine and i were thinking: how come the construction workers danced on stage when they were supposed to arrange the flowers? later when the music started, the guys danced in synchronised movements and it suddenly dawned on us: they ARE the dancers! and we laughed hysterically coz we totally couldnt imagine dancers dressed like construction workers on stage. the "singer" for the event was some girl. i know her name because she always acts as a maid in drama serials. i think she joined singapore idol before, but i shall not name her here. anyway, she had this diva-like attitude which i couldnt stand. what was wrong with her? talking without removing her mike and telling the whole transit she hadnt had her lunch, and blatantly rejecting a little girl for a photo because she "didnt have make-up on" which was rubbish because her whole face was painted red from her blusher. after hearing her sing, i felt she was nowhere near fantastic. anyone can sing like her. one of the bosses, no names mentioned, was quite brainless. i was attending to a passenger at the booth, while kat went for lunch, and some ignorant passenger went to the jackpot himself, looking unsure of what to do. she hollered at me: go and attend to the passenger! and glared at me as if it was my fault. hello?!? i was the only one there and i wasnt free! since you were so free why couldnt you just attend to the precious passenger while i finished attending my current passenger? so inflexible and unreasonable. and when i finished, i walked towards the passenger, and past her, and told her straight in the face: i was attending to a passenger!! and ignored her. i hate people with stuck-up attitude, thinking they are the people high up and not needing to do anything. she's only the second boss, and even the first boss is much more friendlier and polite. she should stop glaring at people because her big eyes make her look like winnie yeung. kat and i were quite pissed, especially with the female bosses. grrr. anyway, i saw weijing. both her and i were surprised to see each other. she's working at dfs selling absolut vodka, and their uniform is ten times nicer than ours. =( after work i met up with cindy and jas, and later with karen, kennise, odelia, zenobia and carmen. havent met them for a few days and for a moment i forgot how to speak cantonese. but after some warm-up it was alright. sent odelia and friends off, with me accompanying them in to ask them buy vodka for kat. the ipod queue at t2 was super long. went for pc fair, then dinner and came home. had a long day so didnt do much at home. thursday-friday, 1-2 june 2006 didnt do much, rested at home, and got myself a favourite site from the past... neopets!! hahhaha. i like to play the neopet games. somewhat silly, but they are more fun to play compared to the only games i have in my computer. i dont like very complicated games so neopets is just for me. apparently my pet doesnt seem to die. hahhaa.
