11:28 p.m. today was quite busy these days, so didnt have time for updates. the 201 quiz was really today. luckily i reached on time. and i only got one question wrong, because i didnt finish reading the textbook. the answer for that question was actually on the next page from where i stopped. installed photoshop from yimyiu for 202 assignment. apparently i forgot almost everything shawn taught during 108 class about photoshop. after several attempts of figuring, it didnt work, i gave up and took a long nap from 2 to 7pm. jessica's leaving tomorrow. i dont really feel excited. haiz. i feel like sleeping more. wednesday, 30 august 2006 watched good against evil (aka the thief show) before school. it looked alright. watched bend it like beckham during 222 lecture. the forensic science lecture made almost everyone grossed out. finished my script and rewatched LFD. tuesday, 29 august 2006 it was rumoured that the 201 quiz was today. frantically trying to finish reading the textbook, and luckily it wasnt. did some other readings during break. came home to do my shooting script for 221.
03:06 p.m. the day in school started relatively well, with me finally not coming in late for lessons. it was. until i saw something that was published in the latest issue of nanyang chronicle. that particular article showed some students having celebrity faces, and one of which was a comparison of student A and julian hee. when i first saw the picture, it looked terribly familiar. i whipped out my handphone to check, and soon realised that the julian hee picture was from yours truly. mine. mine. MINE! i took that photo myself. so it meant that the journalists stole my photo from my blog. and they had the audacity to crop my photo without even giving any credits to me. i mean, go get another julian hee photo yourself! its not like he doesnt have any official photo of himself ALONE. why do you even need to steal from some helpless person who happens to be your junior? the whole point is, im upset that some jerk stole my photo. to my horror, one of the journalists for the article is my senior. i initially posted pictures up with the intention to share what ive got with friends, text or pictures alike, without any intention of getting anything to be COMMERCIALISED. from now onwards, im not posting any pictures here. too bad for all of you. especially thieves. now i truly understand how horrifying journalists are. and horrifying is still an understatement to that.
10:43 p.m. HAPPY BIRTHDAY QIANYU! had a great sleep that lasted for nearing 11 hours. then watched ACOM on tv and started cleaning up my room and did housechores. i finally dug out the vcds that yvonne lent me... when we were still in charge of gongyan. err that means i owed her the vcds for more than a year. and i got down to watching this favourite japanese drama of mine, and realised how i got that bit of interest to work in the newsroom, because that show is called anchorwoman. but too bad, i was scared away by 221 and 107, and probably 203 when i take it next semester. watched RAS on tv. seriously, the original version is so much nicer. i didnt regret taping the only-meiheng version of it coz it felt more shiok to watch. also got the miss chinese sydney 2000 clips from mnfc coz meiheng was the emcee. flora's new movie was released on thursday, but i still dont know when it will arrive here. her compilation album was also released on wednesday. hahah soon i will revert back to my flora-crazy times. especially since every weekend im rewatching her shows, and almost everyday im listening to her albums. hopefully her brand new 4th album comes out soon. =D
09:40 a.m. today i came online early in the morning to do some manufacturing, and to update my blog. met up with karen, kennise and pppt for kbox. havent been to kbox since may. jasmine joined us at about 6pm. all of us had great fun. =) friday, 25 august 2006 fridays are boring. the 222 textbooks finally arrived, and that is an indication that i must start reading my textbooks. thursday, 24 august 2006 after the 2 hours in school, i came home to slack and sleep. i wanted to write about the hk papparazzi, but there are just too many things to write about them. so i scraped the idea. i wanted to write about singapore idol, and i had actually written three paragraphs of it. then i re-read it, and felt that it doesnt feel correct to be published on a public space, even though there's nothing wrong in my points. so i scraped that too. so im left with nothing to write about. wednesday, 23 august 2006 meiqi surprised us by crashing our forensic science lecture. after that, the hk gang and meilan went for dinner, but meilan didnt stay for the movie. we watched the break-up, which was literally about the break-up between the leads. i guess the standard expectations of the audience came into me when the ending was not what we expected-- a happy ending. it shows how movies and dramas have already made people believe that there is such a thing called happy ever after. the main culprits of all are the fairytale storybooks. so the break-up is more of a reality movie than something people just watch and forget.
11:09 p.m. the 222 textbooks are still not here. how on earth are we going to study for a quiz that is tomorrow?? during 202 lecture, a russian cartoon about dinosaurs was screened. it didnt make sense but nevertheless we were oooh-ing at the cuteness of the baby dino. rented LG last 8 discs. and, like everyone in mnfc was saying, the last episode wasnt good. *spoilers ahead. skip the next two paragraphs if you dont want them.* the last episode deviated a lot from the original concept of the story. and hello?!?!? who are the main leads? ken and hazel. and who they focused most in the last episode? the father. speaking of which, i have to rant my displeasure. this show is called love guaranteed, NOT family man. so why in the world did the last episode revolve around the father and the ending resemble that of family man so much?? it also didnt make sense that the main leads were treated like small fries in the finale, and hazel only appeared in 6 scenes. the storyline from the official website differs from what was shown. i'd rather see something like both ken and hazel made mistakes in their work than seeing everyone in search of the father. the title should be changed to kinship guaranteed- Ç×ÇéÈ«±£. *people who skipped the spoilers, please come back to this paragraph.* putting the other comparatively minor issues aside, this last episode can be placed on the list of tvb's disappointing endings, alongside with square pegs which reigns as the unbeatable champion of all times. overall, nice show but disappointing ending. quite tired now, after all that ranting. having red spots all over, no thanks to mosquitoes.
02:40 p.m. today am now in lee wee nam library. just did some readings and fiddled with microsoft publisher, while chatting with pppt, eileen and kennise. having a slight headache. going to rent LG later. am dreading to do the 221 treatment coz i have no story idea to start with. im just not cut out to do journalism. hopefully the journalism part will just fly past and skip to the broadcast part. sianz. am listening to the singapore idols' interview on YES933 on my discman. will update later when i get home. monday, 21 august 2006 eileen and i went to the airport, hoping to catch sight of joe, but to no avail. i was actually hoping to see michael miu more than joe. after waiting for 1.5 hours at both terminals, we gave up, and i rushed to school in a cab. freaking expensive the cab fare was. and yet i was still late for 10 minutes. 222 tutorial was fun, because there were new international students joining the class. one of them is karina, who is from denmark, and she's a really nice girl. another student is kelly from hong kong baptist university. i chatted with her in cantonese and she felt so relieved to find someone able to speak her language. had some gastric problems in the afternoon. and 221 lecture was, as usual, boring. saw richmond-kor at the library. 202 tutorial was fun. dr.foo was saying something like "i want you all to soo this", and we all gave the questioning look. he quickly replied, "sorry it should be 'see'. i just lao4 hong1." and the class burst into laughter. i slept before 12am, which was considered early, because papa was nagging at me. in the evening, rosy told me that joe might be leaving tonight or tomorrow morning, which meant that eileen and i went to the airport to sightsee and eat wind.

11:12 p.m. today HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAMMI! had a long sleep. watched LG episode 18. used papa's computer to watch hope for sale episodes 16-20. and now ive finished watching the show. i realised meiheng has quite a lot of scenes at the beginning and end. so she isnt exactly a supporting cast. in fact she is the second main lead, but the show is rather monotonous that it doesnt seem clear. and it has a lousified ending. when i was ironing the clothes, kennise called and said she saw louis koo at plaza singapura. karen must have been very happy to see her gulele. did housework and groceries. its funny how everyone is informing me about joe's arrival. and its even funnier how i respond to all of them. i have zero idea about him coming to singapore, until rosy's message yesterday night. and now that i have some inkling to tomorrow's match, i have no excitement in it at all. partly because im not free tomorrow. and partly bishan's so out of the way and it will be super crowded. okay, mainly because this piece of news was so last minute that i couldnt do anything about it. if i had known it a week ago or at least a few days ago, i might have decided to go. in any case im not going tomorrow. friday, 18 august 2006 HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESSICA! school was okay. BJ was quite boring coz i didnt quite like the writing aspect. went for dinner with gujie. the great adventurer will be showing on channel 8 every sunday night 1030pm from 27th aug onwards. but like i said, the dubbing sucks. haiz i havent bought the discs even though ive been saying that for months. im tickled by the fact that pppt has started calling someone "di". whenever she says that i will want to laugh. received rosy's message about joe coming to singapore to play charity soccer. thursday, 17 august 2006 watched LG episode 17 and TWDUP last episode. LG 17 was nice, i kept repeating the part where ken struggled with the labrador, burger. and burger is so cute. =) came home after 2 hours in school and slept like a pig. jean got me the cap and sweets. thanks! but the cap is too big for me. haha.
11:01 p.m. HAPPY BIRTHDAY XINHAN! during intercultural and international comm lecture, we played a game for the whole 1.5 hours. it was a silly game, but it was better than getting bored. i sold my 104 textbook in the homecoming sale. but they havent contacted me yet. i approached one of the in-charge to ask about the status of my sale, and when she turned around, i realised it was lin hui, and she realised it was me, and we both laughed it off coz we were both ridiculously silly. i was the sillier one. the forensic science lecture was like a talk. thousands were seated in the auditorium. after that, yanting, yimyiu, kiaying, meilan and i went to raffles city food court for dinner. yah i know it sounds weird that we went all the way to eat food court food. lok said i can only get my august pay at the end of the month, when camillia returns from overseas. jeanette laozhao! i cant add comments on your blog so i shall do it here. lets go back to dhs together when you come back. =) watched TWDUP episode 19. i teared when amanda wrote the letter to jason. i somehow got the wide picture of the story, but not the details coz i usually forward the clips until i spot amanda. i'll be getting the last episode tomorrow and i can then watch it properly. watched the conqueror's story last episode on tvbj. i didnt cry when yue gei died, probably because ive watched it so many times on vcd. but i was again filled with emotions when hong yue killed himself. i could totally feel his anguish. the editing team did a great job of putting the different scenes into his last memory. and when lau bong heard about hong yue's demise, he was sad but he couldnt show it to others. from that scene, lau bong's devastation was fully expressed. who says the old people cannot act? adam cheng is one incredibly excellent actor, who shouldnt be blamed for any falls in the stock market.
11:48 p.m. - the 179 queue this morning was so horrendous, that it went all the way to the alighting berth and formed another u-turn.
11:44 p.m. i almost fell asleep during broadcast journalism lecture. the lecture was quite monotonous. but the worse had yet to come. the basic media writing in chinese was, how should i say, lost. i went in with a bunch of question marks in my head, and went out of it with an equal amount, if not, more of them. apparently there was already a first assignment, which was to make a PR advertisement for uniquely singapore. then the lecturer went on to explain the next assignment, which is a PR research and analysis. like hello?? he didnt even give us any examples or idea how to go about starting it. and i realised half of the remaining topics will be revolving around writing for advertisements. i cant do advertising for nuts. i will faint if the whole module is about writing for ads. therefore... im going to drop it. the best class for today was undeniably the visual comm tutorial. like i said, thankfully we got dr.foo (my fellow hainanese) as our tutor. he brought us to the tv studio. and we probably have never ventured into that obscure basement of SCI before. hahaha ive always liked video camera fiddling so this tutorial was super fun when we dabbled on the white balance and zebra lines and all. and ive got great groupmates. hahaha. riches and stitches will be showing on channel 8 on weekend nights 7pm, after central affairs. kennise was so pek chek coz she just rented the vcds. but seriously, the vcds are a million times nicer to watch than the lousified mandarin dubbing. yay. everyone, watch as meiheng display her excellent acting in that show coz you will see no tinge of meiheng's real character in heung ling at all.
11:59 p.m. today watched 15/16 with meiheng and the cast of LG. it was super hilarious. and meiheng is so knowledgeable! her answers were always correct. saturday, 12 august 2006 met up with pppt karen kennise and her little cousin, bryna. saw J3's jacky with his girlfriend. we had pizza takeaway at the nice spot opposite ritz carlton, which was right in front of the river. jasmine surprised karen and kennise (pppt and i knew about her popping by) by appearing when she said she wasnt free. we had a super belated birthday surprise for the two of them. after the meal, jasmine left, and the four of us started playng daidee while bryna read her book. we played for an hour before the fireworks started. i liked today's fireworks better than yesterday's, partly because we were sitting down and the fireworks seemed so close to us. the designs were nicer as well. after that we walked towards marina square, and past a car with a baby and a dog peering out of the window. i merely said hi to the dog and baby, but the stupid dog went dumb for a second and started barking, which traumatised the baby. bryna reminded me of andrea, my niece, except that im not exactly close to her. after sending bryna home, kennise drove us to heartland mall's 24-hour xinwang cafe for supper. and again, i decided not to turn up for work. i know thats not good, but i guess that'll be the last time im doing that. friday, 11 august 2006 after lecture i went to the temple. and then to my grandparents' house. popo showed me the photos of brandon and i gushed about how plump the nephew became. he looks like an egg. i am going to call him fat brandon. met up with yimyiu, michelle and kiaying for fireworks. the marina square food court was extremely packed. ive never seen a food court so crowded before. after dinner we headed to the esplanade area, which was a wrong move, because we soon found ourselves stuck in the sardine pile. everyone was squeezing together and there wasnt room for any slight movement. apparently this fireworks festival has brought the whole nation together, literally. almost the whole singapore was gathered around the same area to view the fireworks. so it wasnt surprising to see familiar faces, as well as weird people. one girl in the sardine pack refused to let two other girls leave. "im not moving!" she said. the two girls found her unreasonable and argued with her. the weird girl then replied, "if you force me to move, im going to sue you!!" i almost burst out laughing. and then i turned to yimyiu to ask her whip out some camera to video the whole episode and put on youtube. but the commotion was over the moment i turned back to look. the fireworks started, to our relief. the display was splendid! after that we waited for a while before heading out of that area. the four of us were talking when suddenly yimyiu exclaimed, "aaaah!! i dropped my ricola from my mouth!!" all i remembered was that i didnt stop laughing until at least 5 minutes later. and she added, "and that isnt even ricola, it is lakerol!" maybe you'd think it isnt even funny, but somehow i thought it was hilarious. kiaying went off first to meet her jc friends, while yimyiu, michelle and i went to starbucks. they persuaded me not to go to work, since i already resigned.
11:03 p.m. i managed to get LG episodes 13 to 15.
10:11 p.m. HAPPY NATIONAL DAY! woke up at 12, watched power office girls forever special, and went back to nap. the ndp was nice, but this year's ndp song wasnt memorable. today was my first time listening to it. the ndp never fails to bring back fond memories of dhs. now i have all of TWDUP except the last two episodes. quite a lot of feelings towards the show, i might talk about it after i watch the last two episodes. big thank you to jan for sending them to me.
11:07 p.m. the add drop is so screwed. forensic science and astronomy had zero vacancies, and i cant take chinese song lyrics coz i finished my ger-pe for ahss. so guess what? im back to taking CS228. remember that time i struggled with 228? and eventually it comes back to me. and i took biz law. now all my six modules have 4aus each, and i think its going to be very heavy. but i dont know which to drop, coz friends say biz law is easy, but 228 seems easy as well. haiz. anyway the 202 lecture lasted only half an hour, which meant that i rotted in front of the computer waiting for add drop for 6 hours just for a half-an-hour lecture. but the good news is, i dont have govin as my tutor!! hahaha thanks goodness. LG 11 and 12 will only come on thursday. just now i made friends with a meiheng fan from hk, coz she was sending me episode 15. and she's only twelve! i realised meiheng's fans are all quite young. anyway, halfway she went off to watch LG on tv and thus the transfer wasnt successful. and now her mother ordered her to off the computer, so i'll probably get it from her tomorrow. in that case it doesnt make much difference, coz i can watch it at 12pm on thursday. i was watching episode 9, and i love the ocean park scenes! chi-zai is utterly adorable. he jumps around, runs around and his smile is so cute. hahahha.
01:09 p.m. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANGELA! didnt do anything during 201 lecture, and now im in the library rotting my time away while waiting for add/drop and the 202 lecture. very bored now, luckily i have my LG discs with me. hahhah.
11:01 p.m. start of school. honestly i still had the holiday mood. was watching TWDUP, courtesy of jan, before i went to school. 221 lecture was fine, it wasnt exactly one, because the lecturer only went through the course outline. and he let us off one hour earlier. so i went to jurong point to walk while waiting for yanting. popped into ts and went out with LG discs 1-10. haiz the sendspace version takes so long that the vcds are faster than it. hahah so i finally got to watch episodes 9 and 10. the disc casings are super new. hopefully the next 5 episodes will arrive earlier so i can rent. i think im going to give up waiting for silly sendspace. during times like this, i wish i was in secondary school or JC, because these lucky folks can have holidays before and after national day. i have no idea how i will survive every tuesday for the next 13 weeks, with the magnificent 6-hour break.
11:03 p.m. work was not too good. that intern is the rudest colleague that ive ever worked with. he's 17 and yet he's arrogant as if he knows everything but actually he doesnt at all. luckily i only have to tolerate him until next week. im still in the holiday mood. i dont know how i am going to spend my tuesdays.
11:05 p.m. work today was okay. there were a lot of people in t2, but the good thing was that there were three people in a shift. half the time i was daydreaming. poonam is really nice. =D but i cant say the same for the new intern who thinks he's king. darn, i think i want to get the white U2 jacket. the same one that i bought in hk except that it is white instead of brown. i shall think about it again. superband finals! hmm somehow it wasnt as exciting as i thought it would be. lucify had the best visual appeal; J3 had the best vocals; milubing had the best music arrangement; and soul had the best dance moves. i was totally swept away by J3's version of xiao wei. but apparently this competition is all about fan affinity. hahaha i supported lucify because karen's cousin is the cute kuek. and i supported milubing when i heard their shen bian. like i said, all the talent search competitions are revolved around fan affinity, because if vocally judged, J3 will certainly win hands down. i like the performance by brods. hahaha maybe because i like the soler song that i just heard on tv yesterday evening. anyway, where is my episode 9?!?!? ive been waiting so long that i almost wanted to give up. and i realised i havent seen my brother for 3 days, even though he came back to sleep. when he came back i was in my room or sleeping; when i woke up to work he was still asleep; and when i came home he went out. and now he isnt back yet. now the picture in the previous entry has become my desktop wallpaper, my msn display picture and my handphone wallpaper, with the exception of my msn background coz it will look hideous with too much black. it goes to show how much i want to watch the remaining 12 episodes. grrr.
09:11 p.m. went to kiaying's house for some dry swimming! me, kiaying, yimyiu and cuilin all coincidentally wore black tshirts plus shorts!! ahahahah. the mahjong session was super fun, and we were always rushing kiaying coz she was terribly slow. she claimed that she needed time to ponder over the tactics. hahahaha. we all felt like tai-tais. overall i won 10 cents. hahahaha. thanks cuilin. =D i checked with the book affairs auntie, and she said the 3 magazines will arrive next week. yays. almost every blog owned by ntu students has the same emotion in the entries: we dont want school to start. haiz. oh ive got episodes 17 + 18 of TWDUP. now all the episodes are so jumbled up that i cant watch it decently. hahah.
11:04 p.m. yesterday night i watched LG till 4am, and that time papa just woke up to go to work. hahaha i got nagged by him, and my excuse was that it will be my last week to stay up late. coz school is starting next week. time seemed to zoom past during these... 3.5 months. back to SCI and back to lousy canteen food. while watching LG episode 7, i cried like nothing when the dog, dai-bo, died. the part with hazel sewing ken's button really made them feel like they were a couple. i watched meiheng's interview in e-buzz online yesterday, and just now on tvbj. so now i have 3 magazines to buy, and 2 variety shows (15/16 and beautiful cooking) to wait for, and of course the remaining 12 episodes of LG. i dont feel like working at the airport anymore, since i have to work at t2. but i guess i have to be a responsible person, hopefully time will pass very quickly during working hours. someone in mnfc got this absolutely pretty picture of meiheng and sunny. i wonder where she got it from. credits to janety2k. edited: i checked it out, and realised that it is a screen shot from episode 12. haiz. i havent reach that far yet.
isnt it cool?! hahahah i love this picture. jace's new variety show is starting on monday. haiz cant they just let jace act in more dramas instead of giving her variety shows? anyway i realised i have gradually stopped following the news of some of my idols. i dont know, but it seems like joe is almost out of my idol list. hahaha pretty woman meiheng rocks! =D
11:01 p.m. today rewatched drunken angels last episode. watched LG over and over again. going to go for some dry swimming on friday. hahhaa. tuesday, 1 august 2006 HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARIANE! finished rewatching KOYAT. guess what? hahahaha i found love guaranteed sendspace version!!! yays. am now in the hazel mood. but anyway since today is dr. chan's birthday, i have been rewatching her shows for the past few days. so today i rewatched a bit of happy ever after. hahaha i guess no one will want to know about my dramas and craps. by the way, ive finished posting the hk photos. they are all in the july archives.
