Air Track: GLAY - Answer

I d/l GLAY's new album, Love is Beautiful. It rocks.

The first song, Rock N' Roll Swindle, I first heard when I went to Cali last year and I fell in love with it. It made me remember exactly how great GLAY was, and I came back to Jersey to get their entire discography afterwards. I had always been sold on GLAY, with their awesome fusion of pop and rock genres, and this is no exception. So anyway, R N' R Swindle is a great song to start this album with, it's full of energy and the hook is super catchy. The second song, Thousand Dreams is your typical upbeat GLAYness, but that's not a bad thing at all. It reminds me of their Beat Out album.

100 Man Kai no Kiss is the love song, very light and sappy but it gets you where it needs to go. To be honest I barely remember it.

Natsuoto is a sad song, at least that's the feeling I get from it. I remember hearing this song months earlier and actually getting teary eyed, it's just got that mood to it. GLAY and X-Japan's Forever Love are the only songs to ever get me near tears.

American Innovation is funky. The beginning hooks me into the song everytime I hear it, it's definitely one of those songs you listen to when you drive.

Answer, GLAY's collabo with Kyosuke Himuro is great, and if I had a server I'd upload it so you guys could listen. It's just that good. Teru sounds like Gackt at times, but you can tell it's still Teru. They sometimes hit that same somewhat nasal note, though if you can't tell the difference between the two you're an idiot. And I seriously mean that.

Bokutachi no Shobu is more love song deal, I've never really been fond of GLAY's ballads with the exception of However. That song rocks some serious socks.

Saragi no To sounds a lot like their earlier works, with the high guitar from Hisashi kicking into a piano intro. Teru's voice is exceptionally nice in this one.

World's End is fast paced, like what you'd get at the end of an action movie, or maybe the beginning of an anime. Good stuff~

SCREAM is where it's at >D

The collabo with EXILE, an r&b group with like 50 members, it's an awesome mix of the two styles both groups bring. Youtube the video, it's like 7 minutes long but it's some funky shit, it reminds me of smooth criminal with some punk in it. GLAY looks super badass in it.

Koi is a nice song, it's one of my favorite slower songs on the album. Nothing special really, it's just good to listen to.

I Will is good background music, like if you're drawing or reading or some shit. Not too memorable, unfortunately, and the beginning is kind of annoying with the constant "I Believe"s. We get it Teru, you believe. You believe in the GLAY-ness, as do we all.

Heh, I said GLAY-ness.

Layla is upbeat, definitely an end of a movie type song. something you'd hear after a romance movie.

Mirror is a good outro song to the album, I was actually surprised at how good this song was. I was sort of expecting another slow song, or maybe just something put together so you'd say "it was nice" and then never put it on a playlist. If my PSP-list wasn't so heavy I'd put this song on it, but I'll definitely listen to it when I'm on my comp.

All in all, Love is Beautiful is just that: beautiful. For everyone looking for another The Frustrated, look elsewhere. GLAY stayed to their roots but still managed to make some new music that you won't soon get tired of.

On another note, I'm sick of elitists bastards thinking that bands have to stay the same in order to be loved. Isn't the point of being in a band to not only play what you love, but to evolve into better musicians? Also, as the fans of said band, why should it matter what music they play? Personally, anyone should be grateful their favorite band is even around. So many bands rise and fall, and for the lucky ones like GLAY, who constantly top the charts, they have to learn to evolve their music so that way it can be liked by everyone. I know Dir en Grey get a lot of crap for their music changing, but you know what? That's what they do. If you want them to sound like Gauze-era Diru, then listen to Gauze 'coz they're not going back to it anytime soon. They're discovering new sounds, much like these elitists fans should try doing, so naturally they're going to make different sounding music. You don't like it? You don't have to, but don't expect the band to go back to what you want just because you don't like the direction they're going into. Personally i like their new sound, since I've been hungering for something heavier lately. So they sound more westernized, who cares? That's music.

Oh yeah, and there's way too many VK styles out there, some of them should be destroyed. I liek listening to new shit but if I have to hear a harpischord or some whiney tone deaf voice one more time I'm gonna poke the part of my brain that causes sensations to my ears. It can't be that hard to learn to sing, they made a book for dummies. you don't make a book for dummies for just anything, you know >_>

L'Arc just came out with two new songs, Shine and Seventh Heaven, and they're awesome. Seventh Heaven sounds like mid 90's Laruku, but I can't put my finger on exactly what. It's different then what they've done in the past two albums, and I like it a lot. This next album is going to be great.

Oh, and listen to the band Girugamesh. Their new single, Volcano...fuckin' awesome.

That's it for now, I don't really have much to blog about since life is pretty stable lately.

What a cool week thus far.

Monday was no big surprise that I had work, but some certain shit that happened that day put the rest of my time in perspective. Vague? Yes, but that's the way I like it. Tuesday was just school, but I did buy a new Wii controller/nunchuk combo and some of my Gamefly games came in so I spent about 4 hours playing Cooking Mama.

Awesome game. Once you get past some of the ridiculous shit you have a solid game. Wednesday, I sludged around and helped my parents with some shit before going out for lunch with Toki and then to the mall to fix her mama's phone. She was feeling pretty down about the fact that it seems like we're not really close to all of our friends like it used to be since everyone's getting their lives together, but that quickly changed once her lifetime friend D called her and we ended up going to dinner at her house.

Thursday we went to NY and had fun like a mutha. Lots of walking and eating for me, and I'm certain I lost some good poundage...until we went to D's for dinner again. And she cooked. A lot. Oh, but it was good. Damned good...

Friday was work and nothin' else, and last night I went to a birthday party for a friend at a place called Red Cheetah. I knew the area pretty well since that's where Gibbs Montclair used to be and I spent a pretty good amount of time there. It was a lot of fun; drinks were drunken, much dancing was involved, and it was all around sweetness. I definitely lost 3 lbs. last night.

Anything else? It's good to have real friends, I guess. Keep 'em close to you 'coz you never know what shit might happen.

hate anything Carlos Mencia does. The man is a hack. There was proof of this before, in a now infamous spat with Joe Rogan (of Fear Factor fame), where he actually got other comedians that Carlos stole their bits from to confront him onstage. Now, he does the same thing, this time from an old bit by Bill Cosby!

Fuckin' loser. I can't believe he actually got famous off of other people's comedic skills. I've heard the same thing about Dane Cook, and I have to say that it's true also. I'm disappointed at that 'coz I find Dane Cook funny, but you know what...if he's gonna become famous off of other people's shit then I shouldn't give him my support. I'd be pissed if someone became popular off of my stuff and didn't even credit me for it.

Fuck you, Carlos Mencia.

__________xSpikey Rambles - hahaaa!

Air Track: 12012 - Incur...

So I bought God of War and beat it in 4 days.

Is there nothing mighty enough for me, the one man army of justice!!!

Well, there are a bunch of games on the Wii, and there will be some new PS2 games to get. Rogue Galaxy looks really good, and Dawn of Mana (when it comes out) should bring me back to my Secret of Mana roots. Hopefully. The Mana series kinda sucks with the exception of Secret of Mana.

I'm thinking of subscribing to Gamefly.com, I mean I'd rather pay like $12 a month for $50 games I'll probably play once or twice, and then switch 'em if I want. We'll see how that looks in a month or so.

Anything else? Eh, not really. God of War 2 was really good. Really insanely irritatingly difficult when it shouldn't be, but good nonetheless. When playing these unfair games it reverts me back to when I was 10 and I would curse and cry at the screen whenever the main character wouldn't do as I wanted, or when a boss was just plain ass cheap. you know the ones, the guys/girls/things that perform 50 hit combos and you haven't even scratched your ass yet, and then kill you by the time you actually do react. Fucking guys.

Well whatever, I beat the game and that's that. I haven't worked on my comic all week 'coz my wrist has been somewhat sore. Probably from God of War 2, or from...other things. Shut up. On another note, people need to comment more! You can't be that busy that you can only come to my page when it suits you, can you guys? I didn't think so~

Comment, curs.

__________xSpikey Rambles - So!

Air Track: X Japan - Weekend (live)

Two things today.

I just got my tax refund. I am now a millionaire. In the form of thousands, really. I got money, shut up.

For the first time ever I think it finally pays to be a student. Had I just been working it probably wouldn't have been so nice. Yay, now sitting in those horrible classes now has meaning!!!

And now to bring it down a bit.

I recently found out that they're going to kill off Captain America. How, you say? Well, him being a superhero you'd think it would be either some major hero/villain battle where he either dies by the hand of the villain, or perhaps gets caught in between a battle and dies by either another hero's hand accidently, leading to some real drama for what's now a seriously faltering comic industry.

No no, the people at Marvel had a better idea. They'll shoot him. Well, snipe him really. As he comes out of a building.

Thanks for reducing one of the greatest heroes into a common criminal. I am actually pretty pissed about this, I mean...growing up on comics, the storylines were always good, and if they weren't then they still put up some kind of a show for you. I firmly believe nowadays that the writers(and many of the artists) have no idea what they're doing anymore. In their quest for originality and uniqueness, all they come up with is shit worse than shit. Like octopus shit or something. That is why from now on, I'm sticking to only manga. At least with manga you know the story'll be absurd 'coz that's the route they're going.

Fucking Marvel, you cocksucking homo-plates. Yeah I said plates!

Air Track: Nothing

Hey everyone, I decided to make a new layout.

I started work on chapter 4 of my comic, and man...I've never used so much detail in my life. Granted, there's still a lot of work to be done, but my hands practically fell off from one panel alone. One! I'm in for a lot of pain.

Speaking of which, I'm also sick. I've been pretty messed up since last week, breaking fevers and ultimately feeling like shit on shit. It all started thanks to my glorious job sending me outside in the cold to push carts day after day, not even concerned that I was sick as a dog. I can't wait to quit that place, it's gonna be like sex wrapped up in ice cream when I quit.

Also, we were supposed to have a show this thursday, but due to scheduling conflicts that won't be happening. I'm upset but also relieved 'coz I wanted to play, but in the current condition I'm in I don't think jumping all over stage would have been a good idea. I was also supposed to go the NY Comic Con, but the day I was going to attend doesn't seem to have much going on so we're scratching that idea. It would be good to myself to go on sunday, since I found out Del Rey manga is having a panel on publishing your manga work, but I'm working and I can't continue to call out as I do for fear of getting suspended. Actually, I could care less about not being at work, but being suspended means not getting paid for the days I miss so...yeah, money is important first. It's okay though, if I can't look up anything on self-publishing (which I think it near impossible since the internet has info on everything), I'm sure otakon'll have a panel regarding the same thing. It would suck to wait, but that's life. You can't force the fates.

And someone leave messages. Bunch of jerks all spending time having lives...
