...I have just made an astonishing discovery.

You see, lately I haven't been doing as well in school. It's stuff like not turning in/not doing my homework and sleeping in class and such. But for the life of me I just cannot figure out why this is only happening in certain classes.

For example, I'm still doing just as good in History and Math, but my grades are slipping in Religion and English.

And I have just figured out why that is.

I don't have anyone to compete with in those classes.

My entire life I've been running against people, it seems. I mean, I'm the middle child, so I never really got the full attention of my parents. I'd never go to the extremes of serious competition, but it's just sort of a friendly thing.

For example, I always tried to be the top of my class. It wasn't really so taht I could brag about it or anything, but just that I was pushing against everyone else. They were, in a sense, my competition, and I had to try harder in order to overcome that obstacle.

In seventh grade, there was a guy who was already taking higher level math courses than me. He was my competition. I would always do my math homework ahead of time so that I just might be able to get into a higher course, and that's stuck.

There was one girl in my english class who would always do better than me, so I tried my hardest to do better than her, and I got better grades as a result.

It's always been that way. Even in my writing and my drawing. I keep on trying to draw better so that I can reach the level of someone like D-chan. And when I'm writing, I've got Kouri as a standard against myself.

I've always got something to use for comparision, and it's never myself. There's always been a rival for me.

And now, in my english class and in my religion class, I don't have a rival. There's no one that challenges me, no one who I feel really can do better than me, and so by consequence I'm doing worse.

...And that's just so strange, I think. But yeah. Anyways, there's my little rant on myself. I just hadta share it with someone, ya know? ^_^

I woke up this morning with a sore throat, stuffy nose, and the realization that I have to be at work at five.

Yup, this day's turning out spiffy.

Probably the only good thing to be said for it is that I now have an audition with Shakespeare in the Park on the 19th at 10:30 for their production of Twelfth Night. That should be fun.

Provided I don't die from this stupid cold first.

I didn't include Ruroken in this one because I don't like any of the pairings in that one really...I watch for the fights. ^_^

Conclusions:

Hmm...my favorite chara always seems to be the bad guy, either that or the somber quite one. I think Toboe and Sirius are the only two to break that exception...but Darcia hasn't had enogh screen time in Wolf's Rain for me to truly love him, plus I really don't like JK Rowling's dealings with Tommy. He could be eviller, and a lot better. Lots lots better. She can write a good book but not the best villian (not to insult her or anything, though ^_^ they are good books)

And my pairings...follow no distinct pattern. TsuHi is angst/sap, same with RanKen, but SubSei is just sheer angst, Hatori/Ayame is bouncy and broody, same with 1x2, and Yuki/Shuuichi and TsumeToboe for that matter. But Luc and Sasa have the rivalry thing going, and S/R just ties back up to the whole TsuHi vibe.

So essentially...fav pairs are in three categories: Angst, Enemies, Opposities. I guess. *shrugs*

I'm surprised that there's not more of the Muraki/Hisoka-esque pairings up there though...*pokes at it* Plus it kinda shocks me that Tohru makes no appearence in any of the Furuba pairings. But damnit, Haru/Yuki is cute

And not a girl in the mix. Wow. ^_^;; Umm...can't explain that one. Though Dorothy woudl definately be my number four on GW, definately. The rest don't seem to have all that many Female charas to the degree I like. Though Lorelai is nice in Suikoden. But yeah, guess I just don't like the gals.

...I have read the end of the fourth Harry Potter book. My comment, is thus:

Thus ends my commentary upon this work of fine fine literature.

...and the comment you make about wars reminds me of this fic. For which I should be shamed...yet...I am not.

Today I realized...that I have a good amount of my Hisoka curse fic written out, however it is in not sequential order, and the scenes I have all need beginnings. Curse my sporadic writing style.

Oh, and just thought I should tell you that I wasn't really feeling all that well tonight (still am not) so that is why I was not at SBAM. So sorry.

I get to be first alternate at speech state, which is yay if the damned girl who beat me to third place gets sick and can't go.

And to you two I wish happy journies and safe returns.
