Well, it's been another one of "those days". I've been having medication changes, and I think that I just have to wait a little while to adjust until this stuff stops hurting me, and starts helping me. On top of that, I've caught that nasty summer cold that's been going around.
On to better things, Tom and Dad got home today from Bala, Wales, where Tom was competing in the Junior World Championships on the US Team in C2 (canoe with two people in it). Though their times were less than stellar as the US is rarely competitive with the more highly sponsered European teams, they seem to have had a great trip. The major tradgedy was that Xena (Zena?) died. Xena was their boat. The front part of the nose just completely ripped off ... a chunk larger that a cubic foot was torn entirely off. The boys are debating as to whether it's possible to repair her. On the upside, they were able to finish the race by borrowing a boat from the British team. And Tom has bought two new boats, a nice new downriver C2 to replace Xena, and a C1 for himself. The second boat is especially nice.
All is fine here in boulder after the fires. They came within a mile of my house, but no damage was done to any structures. Jeff was evacuated, but is back in his house now. I wasn't even home, friends invited me to watch a Trigun marathon with them (the whole series) so I was still occupied with that late into the night.
I heard that I would hate Trigun, and I thought after the first ep or so that I would, but it shaped up nicely, the plot was very sound, and there was a real story-line ... the fighting really wasn't the main point of the series. Anyhow, it was a pleasent surprise. ^_^ We plan to get together to watch some more anime again sometime.

*SIGH* God I'm tired, and I've got to get to bed soon and wake up tomorrow morning and be able to actually DO things ... oh what a novelty ... anyhow, work on the site has once again progressed nicely, and, wonder upon wonders, I have discovered how to use mac to host my pictures, yay! I still feel that I've got to be missing something, because this is waytoohard to be the proper way of doing things, but nonetheless, it's working.
With Tom and Dad out of town, my mother and I get to do lots of fun bonding sorts of things ... we made omlettes for dinner tonight, and we're shopping tomorrow. Hopefully we will find a new chair for my desk to replace the sucky one which broke ... the chair I'm using now is causing inexcusable amounts of backpain.
Anyhow, that's about it for now,

A second entry, once again, I have retreated into the calm of working on this site rather than stay around doing anything *useful* like everyone would seem to want me to. Went to the movies today, saw "Reign of Fire" it was decently amusing, I suppose, though a few of the shots looked very green-screened. Also there was an occurance of a character jumping aboard a dragon with a big-ass axe. Something about that was rather hokey, though fortunately he *did* die in the process.
Further work will proceed this evening.

Hopefully this will be working now. This is the first entry into this section. The intention in this section is that I can record my more private thoughts or experiences here. This will serve more like a diary or a journal than the main page will. Because of this, this page is even more likely to be of little interest to people other than me.
Regardless of how pointless this activity may be, I am still happy about the prospect of having this space for myself.
