Yes I am absolutely d.i.g.g.i.n.g Up the Bracket. Long live The Libertines! It's my soundtrack of walking to school right now - Last week it was Blur's Greatest Hits and the week before that...oh well can't remember. Long live my portable cd player! Makes those few miles a pleasure.

I saw they've linked back to my site from TheStrokesFan.org. So all of you people who are visiting through that fantastic site, HI. This was listed as a Strokes-blog, tho, and actually it isn't one even tho I try to keep the layout strokes-y.

That reminds me, I got Room on Fire on vinyl today! How unbeliavably rad is that??? The back of the vinyl has this really cool drawing by Anselm Kiefer on it. It's like a huge wooden hall or something with these little fires, like torches on the walls, and there's this faint text on top of it which says "Spiritual heroes of Germany" in german and some names I guess spread on the floor of it. It's really cool I love it. I think I'm going to keep the vinyl in the plastic wrappings...I guess it's worth more like that? In the future I mean.

I'm just a shot away from you...

Hi I'm honestly going nuts for Toxic from Miss Spears. I'm the first one to admit that when I hear an excellent pop tune, I'm unable to dodge it. And that song just speaks to me with all the strange psychoesque wailing and western movie guitars. But even better and not so pop is Take me out by Franz Ferdinand. Really now, a song hasn't struck me that hard on the first listen since, well, Reptilia I guess. Fucking amazing.

Here as promised! Top three LJ goodies of the day.

Claim a Cock
Barbiegirls
Spice Girls

The last one was a bit funny. Last weekend I traded my Alicia Keys' Songs in A Minor [pirate copy from Russia] for an authentic debut from Spice Girls, Spice, and a lovely top. The cd is a classic! Nostalgic and fun. I was just returning to my roots for a moment there.

I'm off for some Mc Donalds just about now...brr it's freezing out there. Better wrap up.

Fuckyeah, me has officially turned 18 years old on Friday the 16th. On the same beautiful day St.Valensi of The Strokes celebrated his 23rd birthday on the exact other side of planet Earth from me [New Zealand], Kate Moss woke up to her 30th anniversary of coming out of the womb, and if Aaliyah was still among us, she would've blown the 24 candles of her cake. What magic beholds the sixteenth of January, the mankind is left to wonder.

A lot of partying, drinking, and general fun has been done over the weekend and yes - my gut feeling tells me that the best year of my life so far has now begun. Let's hope I'm right in all this optimism.

I've gotten 4 cd's this week. Youth and Young Manhood by Kings of Leon, Turn on the Bright Lights by Interpol, White Blood Cells by The White Stripes and Up the Bracket by The Libertines. Great week musicwise.

My ankle has been hurting like hell and mom made the most tasty Tiramisu today. Good times.

My addiction of the week: livejournal communities. The livejournal accounts are free right now [You don't need a code or money] so I strongly advice everyone even remotely bored to get one, even if it's just to spy on the wide range of those communities. I've mainly just been browsing through several ones but when I find my favorite I'll link it here rightaway.

I got a nice amount of money off that Tony Hawk -game, 43€. Few hours cleaning up at granny's apartment and me has just bought a nice pair of jeans.

I think my sleeping rhythm is back to "normal" and I think I'm in love. What a scary thing is that.

Hmm my friend tipped me on Ryan Adams' version of Last Nite...sounds like something not to be missed. Also I love the new track from Junior Senior, Shake your coconuts. Now I just have to step back and see - On this page the 1st entry is titled Shake your coconuts, there are now 2 links to JS's site and one to Junior's pic. Now how's that for plugging? Allright I won't talk about them anymore.

I say 'allrite' all the time.

I really had nothing to say but just felt like making an entry. No exkuses. Now I shall emerge from the komputer, fill my stomach and hit the sak. I hope you all notice how koolly I wrote those c-words with a 'k' instead. Von Dutch does it too and let's face it; is there anything more hip and ubiquitous than VD clothing? The caps, man. Now if I only put dots instead of apostrophes "What.s, you.re, I.m, rock.n.roll..." That's done too. Learned it at livejournal.

Fatherfuckers and their lust for life

09:40 p.m.

Back to school today, after a good one hour of sleep. But I went and didn't fall asleep on any lessons. Neither did I vomit when I saw a skanky 9th grader wearing tighter-than-tight pants with a glittering "Queen" right across her buns. Oh well, early night it is for me tonight, then. I'm going ice skating tomorrow morning and I'm excited so I already got the skates out and removed the pile of dust lying on top of them darlings.

So, I've seen/heard the Peaches' and Iggy Pop's duet Kick it only once but what can I say, it's electric! Video for the track provided to you by NME, right here.

For the record, Jesper a.k.a Junior from Junior Senior is So Adorable. But don't let the looks fool you; Jesper is fabulously rawk. Beer-Groupies-Cigs and furiously Rock'n'ro...no, wait, Novelty Bouncy Up'beats.

Today the mailman brought me what I won in the radio contest on New Year's eve - 3 xxl t-shirts, Linkin Park's Meteora, Daredevil OST and Tony Hawk's Underground for PlayStation2. Shizzle worth like 160€ [$$$] and I have use for nizzle of it. I guess I could try and sell. We'll see.

MERRY 2004!

The Strokes were the 3rd worst band of the year 2003 after Limp Bizkit and Creed, according to the the Guitar World readers anyway. Now, I'm not going to bitch about the choice of the masses but let me ask you one thing; who gives a flying fuck about "the break-up of Texas metal veterans Pantera, the continued absence of a new Guns 'N Roses album, and Marcos Curiel's departure from Christian rock band P.O.D."? [listed as the biggest disappointments of 2003]. The only universal agreement seems to be that yes, Elephant was indeed the cultural deed of oh-three. And despite being monsters on the selling markets, Limpizzle Bizkizzle and Creed suk a$$.

A while ago I declared my love for Love Strikes and The Beautiful Occupation right? [Damn you pitas for not making permalinks. And messing up my links. I'm so changing to blogger.] Anyway, they still rock but I wanna honor-roll these bootayshakers, Milkshake from Kelis and Superstar as sung by Jamelia. Killer beats, as provided by Pharrell [for Kelis] and someone who probably is not Pharrell [for Jamelia, duh.]. Sorry, Pharrell and Chad. Chad is a lovely fella, why do people only know'n'love P-boy?

My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard
And they're like, "It's better than yours"
Damn right, it's better than yours
I can teach you, but I have to charge.

How's that for something to get stuck in your head 24/7? Stickier than 12:51 melody, Maps simplicity and the Seven Nation Army backbone guitar all rolled into one. Except that Milkshake is nothing like those songs. Bad, bad comparison.
