argh, cramps...
Damn these cramps. I'm in the iNook at a standing computer terminal, so I had to grab a chair.
Cris and I were sending messages to each other a little while ago, talking about our DULAPIL play. Arg, it's such a hassle because of the schedules. Plus there's holy week next week. Arg.
I can't wait for summer to start.

too lazy to even go home
Heheheheh, it's almost 8pm and I'm here in school, surfing the net. I just wanted to check my mail, and what's there to do at home anyway?
I got to borrow Archer's jacket for the weekend. Heheheheh, now two of his pep jackets are with me. ^_^ Anyway, we didn't go home together today because he brought his laptop with him and he'll be riding home with his parents. Oh well.
Reiner, Khalil, Kel, Marco and I went to 2600 earlier for dinner. We each ordered bulalo that's really cheap but filling. Wow, I can actually feel myself getting fat. Rein even brought along with him 2 plastic bags of cotton candy (reminded me of Archer because of the powdered milk) and gave me one of them. Then when we were done eating, Rein wanted to buy some barbecue nearby, so the rest of us went with him and decided to buy some (except me). Then when the guys were finishing their last sticks, Rein and I spotted a dirty ice cream vendor, so we all got some ice cream as well. Heheheheh, food tripping was fun. We all felt like little kids going after all the "street food".
I think it's about time to go home. I wanna sleep.

after a viewing
Just watched Tatarin with my DULAPIL classmates. We needed to see the movie so we could come up with our own script for our finals. Good thing Vane has a portable color TV and VCD player in her dorm.
Jethro came by every once in a while. Though he's not taking the class, he's gonna help out with the choreography and some of the techie stuff.
I ran into Ben near the registrar. He asked me what time I'll be going home, and I told him that I'll be out by 7:30. Heheheh, I was hoping that he would offer me a ride home, so he did. Yay, I get a free ride home. ^_^
Now this is funny. I never knew Reggie in high school, but we kinda know each other online. We've been seeing each other in school for almost a year now and we never even said hi to each other. Today was the first day we did. *waves to Wedgie*
Which of the Disney Princesses are you?
You are a true bookworm and dream of a life better than the simple, quiet one you lead now. Your good looks can attract the town jerks, but you manage to ignore them most of the time. Sometimes you feel like you're surrounded by idiots. So what are you waiting for? You don't need your father to be kidnapped to get out and see the world. Although you can be stubborn, you're also very compassionate and see beyond people's façades.
Time for Seven Shots on Wednesday:
First shot: What do you indulge in?
Friends, food, and dreaming. Oh yeah, and my fave, sleeping.
Second shot: March is about to come to a close in two weeks' time. What's one word to describe your first quarter of 2002?
Adventure. I met Lea Salonga, I branched off to other friends, I stopped limiting myself to just YFC. I can't wait for the rest of 2002.
Third shot: What's an outfit you know you'll always look good in?
I have no idea. Probably my black capris worn with a sleeveless black shirt. ^_^
Fourth shot: Do you have any question that is STILL unanswered? What is it?
When will my parents ever let me go?
Fifth shot: What is your mantra?
None.
Sixth shot: What is the best compliment you've ever received?
"You're fun to be with and fun to talk to. But your mentality is often hard to predict."
Seventh shot: What particular kiss in your life, when it comes to mind, makes you smile?
Any kiss that comes from him. ^.~

aggravated
I can't seem to think of a decent title.
Damn, I hate it when I'm in computer lab 1 here in school. There's always something wrong with the internet connection in this lab.
I brought my video camera to school today. Ems and I will be interviewing Icko for our COSK2 research paper. Now my only problem is that I still have to distribute he survey questions. Ems shouldn't have limited the respondents to designers. Now I'm the one having trouble finding them. The only people I can find to answer the survey are the production design stdents from the different batches. And they're not even 50 yet. Arg.
Anyway.
Yesterday in DULAPIL class, we were discussing what to do for our finals. We'll be doing a play, so we organized who will do what work. Heheheheh, Cris is gonna be the director. ^_^ At first, Dang wanted to act, but sometimes she gets on my nerves no matter how nice I am to her. Jeez. St. Scho girls can be such bitches sometimes. Good thing she decided to be on the tech crew instead. Xol and I were the first ones who volunteered to act, heeheehee. And to think that we worked before in Stupid Kids for our INTROER finals. Oh yeah, we'll be doing Portrait of the Artist as Filipino, by Nick Joaquin, or maybe its musical version, Larawan. I don't know. A lot suggested the latter, coz it's a musical, but Cris and Ems (who'll be in charge of PR) were looking at the script of the former. Oh well, I guess it'll probably be better off being Portrait, coz it's in English. Sometimes I keep stubmbling over the words if it's in Filipino. Oh well, whatever.

NES mania
Arg, my left middle finger is kinda cramped. I've been playing some old classic NES games that I downloaded from Deej's website. He has a lot of those games that I used to play over and over again as a kid. I've been playing Super Mario Bros 3 on and off today, and I'm not halfway World 3 (the world my brother and I used to call WaterWorld) yet. I have a frog suit handy, though. Goody. ^_^
Golly, the kid in me is prying to come out again. ^_^

an update
It's Lea Salonga's birthday today! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LEA!!!
Now on to other things.
Yesterday morning, I got a text message from Tita Luna of Trumpets, offering me to be an assistant teacher to one of the classes in Trumpets. Woohoo! I agreed right away, and she told me that before I could assist a class, I should take the training seminars required for the teachers. It's not so bad. Things are really looking up now. She told me to call her up as soon as I got home. So I did. Jamie was so surprised that I was calling his house and looking for his mom. The last time I called was when I was telling him about the World Drama homework. ^_^ It turns out that I might be Myles' assistant in Musical Theater Teens in Alabang, which was the class I took last year. ^_^
Anyway, we had homework for the training session, and I picked it up this morning in the Trumpets office. It was the very first time I commuted alone from school to Shangri-La. It was pretty scary, but when I got things figured out, I was finally able to breathe easily. I'm known for my lack of sense of direction, so I was so thrilled to find my way around easily. I was so tired from walking everywhere when I finally returned to Taft in time for Archer's dismissal.
I watched DLSZ's production of Peter Pan tonight with Lawyn. Anna was playing Wendy. Well, the play was OK in the beginnning. If you ignore the really visible cords of the flying harnesses, the kids looked really cute when they were flying. The alternate cast including Justin, Lawyn's brother, were sitting behind us and was making so much noise. Arg. I'd like to talk to their director about discipline.
Anna's mom happened to be sitting in the row in front of us. There was this lady who was staring at me, and then she suddenly said, "Hi, Hogi! I'm Anna's mom. She told me that you'll be watching tonight." I was so surprised that she recognized me! I remember that I only met her once. She's pretty nice.
Oh yeah, one thing good about going to Zobel was that I was pretty glad that there's finally a theater program for the students. I was pretty frustrated to see something like that when I'm already an alumna, but it would be a great oppurtunity for the kids. Now I know where my kids will be going to school. ^_^ Anyway, before the play started, they showed this video of the performing arts programs, featuring exceptional kids from each of the programs. So I wasn't really surprised to see Anna or even Hugh in it. One of the people in charge of the theater program even said that they might even have the next Lea Salonga. Might??? Hello?!? They already have her!
On the whole, the production was entertaining, but disappointing on the technical side. They pre-recorded the songs so the entire cast was lip-synching, and there was even a part in Act 2 where I could hear a different tape playing for a couple of seconds. Another big flaw in Act 2 was that they forgot to turn off the lapel mikes of the cast who were offstage, and I could hear the people whispering backstage. I loved some of the costumes, though. The indians, especially Tiger Lily, were so cool. It's a part I've been dying to play as a kid. The pirates were so funny in the beginning, but the guy who played Smee was kinda annoying. It's like he had too much caffeine or something. And Peter Pan's choreography was so monotonous, especially in "Never Never Land" and that "Ugga-Wugg" (sp?) song of the Lost Boys and the Indians. Oh well, they're just kids, anyway. And I'll bet that would be what the older people were saying back when I was still doing school productions.
Arg, I'm such a critic.

It's time for Friday Five.
1. Hey, baby, what's your sign? Do you think it fits you pretty well? Sagittarius, and yup, I think it does fit me well, being the wild butterfly that I am.
2. What's the worst birthday gift you've ever received? In 1999, my 'rents actually told me to break up with my boyfriend.
3. What's the best birthday gift you've ever received? Last year, when I was offered an internship in Proof with Lea Salonga.
4. What's the best way you've celebrated your birthday thus far? I'm a simple girl, and just being surprised by my two best friends on my birthday was one of the best. They went out of their way to make time to go to my house without telling me, and even let my mom in on the secret.
5. What are your plans for this weekend? Work on the homework I have for Trumpets. And start reading Boy Meets Girl by Joshua Harris.

I fogot about this
The TV show Digital Tour on Studio 23 showed a feature on online diaries and journals last night. I found out about it from our PinoyBloggers Yahoo Group, because one of our bloggers, Ulan25 works for the show and that was her segment's about. She showed screen shots of the PinoyBlogger's blogs, including mine! ^_^ Well, it only showed part of mine, but the writing (and boring layout) was unmistakably mine. Wheee!
Oh well, at least there's something to be happy about this weekend.

I've been working on my site all morning. I didn't even notice it was time for lunch. I guess I was so fascinated with the pics I added. ^^;;;
Well, Envy.nu's pretty screwed up. They deleted all the previous accounts so I had to sign up for a new one. Plus they added banners for the free accounts. Argh. I used to like it in Envy because of the banner-free sites. Oh well, it's better than nothing.
I just finished uploading everything, so check it out! Now all I have to work on is a new layout for my Southern Rain entries.

"the barrel song"
From My Emperor's New Clothes:
A lovely milkmaid, living alone
Up on a mountain top high
Thought of her love who had gone away to war,
With a tear in her eye--
And barrel was her only friend
As the long, long nights went by.
If you listened very closely then,
You'd hear her cry:
"R U MT?
I C U R.
I M MT 2.
N F U R S MT S I,
O, I PT U."
Yeah, I am empty.
How could I have been so stupid. I'm so dumb. And I'm still beating myself up for it.
I'm so sorry. If I could take everything back, I would. I promise I'll be better. I will. You'll see. I'll do it not just for you; I'll do it for myself. I'll see you around, Archer. I Love You.

Just a normal day started out. A lot of people came to school wearing red. Jeez. It gets conrier and cornier to wear that color on this day every year.
Met up with Archer after class. We didn't do much today. We just went to South Mall for dinner, walked around a little, then left. Oh well. We planned to do more tomorrow anyway, so it doesn't really matter.

pre-valentine roses
I met up with Rosa after my Fotogra class so we could hear Ash Wednesday Mass together. We just spent enough time to have lunch then go to the chapel in DLSU's LS building. Then after the Mass I left for CSB in time for the prayer meeting.
Heheheheh, the YFC brothers were so sweet. They serenaded us with a few songs then gave each of the sisters a long-stemmed rose. Aw... ^_^
I was wondering why Archer didn't reply to my text messages all afternoon. As it turned out, he went to a game in Ateneo. But it was really sweet of him to stay in school and wait for me until my last class was dismissed so we could commute home together.
I guess tomorrow will be a pretty interesting day for everyone. Oh well.

what to write?
Hm...the first half of this week is pretty eventless. Arg. Things had better look up on Thursday. ^_^ Hon, hopefully you're reading this post. *grin*
I ran into Ramon today for the first time in a long time. He was going out with his friends from school, so it was pretty rude if I invite myself to hang out with them. Oh well.
Trumpets Playshop batch '99 friends Lyn and Ging are dying to have a reunion. I sure hope I find more people this year. The last time we had a reunion (it was 2 years ago), there were only at least 6 of us. Well, it was better than nothing. Hopefully more will turn up if we have another one this year. But I'm gonna need help from the others. I can't wait to see the rest of the people that I haven't seen for more than a year. It makes the summer more worth looking forward to.
Hmmm...I wonder what I should wear on Thursday? Definitely NOT red. Ugh. Maybe something totally opposite, other than black, of course. I already did that last year. ^_^

different
Because I wasn't in the mood to hang out with my YFC friends yesterday, I ended up leaving school early. I just decided to go to ATC instead and hang out with anyone else I could find there. I sent a few text messages to some Playshop friends, telling them that I'll be there in ATC in case they're not doing anything.
Only 3 people replied. There was Kris, who said that she'll just tell me if she's really going to go there; Lawyn, who said that she'll be in ATC; and Anna, inviting me to watch the DLSZ high school chorale concert with her.
Well, since Kris replied later that she was kinda tired and just be at home, I told Lawyn that I'm gonna watch the chorale concert. We agreed to meet up and watch it together. Then Anna asked me to buy her some food before we go to Zobel. Uhm, okie.
I found Lawyn in Macroscope, the internet cafe in Service Town, figuring out which messages to delete in her email. Her youngest (?) sister called her up, asking if she could tag along with her in ATC, so she told her where she was. We waited for her sister for a good 15 minutes, then we went to Food Choices to get some food for Anna. I didn't really know what to get, so I called her up. I finally decided on getting Mojo potatoes from Pizza Hut. Then she told me that the chorale concert will be starting at 5:30. What?!? It was already 5:15, and the poster said that it will start at 6pm. Argh, I hate false advertising. Then Lawyn got a pizza and Mojo potatoes for her and her sister, who we waited for patiently to finish eating the Mojos. Then we all left for Zobel.
Lawyn and I spotted her brother, Justin, just hanging around outside the Performing Arts Theater in Zobel. Justin told us that Anna was inside the theater waiting for us.
Anyway, we were about 20 minutes late for the concert, but we went in anyway. We sat in the back row, where we could talk silently during the concert. Eheheheh, because of Anna, what we mostly did was talk about the chorale members and schtuff. There was this one girl in the chorale named Alex (a new student, according to Anna), who played solo piece on the piano. Wow, she was really good.
Oh well, for the first time, I didn't go backstage after the concert. Rina dear, I'm sorry, but I'll see you again soon, OK? Jammi, sorry, I chnaged my mind again. ^^;;;;
Oh well, so after the concert, Anna, Lawyn and I went directly to Gate 2 to wait for their rides. Anna offered to give me a lift to ATC, so I decided to ride with her, so it won't be a hassle for Lawyn to go out of the village then back in again. Eheheheheh, Anna was so eager to get home that she forgot to get her bag, and she only remembered it when we were at the Acacia gate, so she had to ask her yaya to turn back around. Anns, it's a sure sign that you're getting older. ^_^
Speaking of which, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANNA!!!
I wonder how Archer is doing? I miss him.

frustration
I don't care if anyone finds this new rant. I'm getting so pissed at how my friends are acting lately. A bunch of them have been acting so much like kids.
Especially one in particular. I'm not saying I'm really mad at her. I love her, and she knows that. I'm just pissed off at how she's been handling certain situations. When she gets mad at someone, she tells her close friends about it, and tries to lure them to side with her. And she usually succeeds. Jeez. How immature. Just about an hour ago, she did it again. I feel so sorry to those who don't really want to take sides, but when she starts to speak up, they eventually side with her.
I hate it every time my YFC friends do that. Some youths for Christ we make. All they ever do is gossip and schtuff. Uhm, hello, guys, if you don't want to be pissed off, then don't piss each other off!
They're just giving me more problems than I can handle, because I'm always the one in between. I'm the one who always chooses not to take sides, to make them see that finding each other's faults is a damn pathetic way to get along. Every time they start talking, I always find myself leaving the cubicle to go to the computer lab, because I don't want to be a part of their arguments.
I can't bear to see my friends' realtionships fall apart. But I don't want them to act all "plastic" with each other. OK, so if you're mad at someone, just tell them, and leave it at that. Don't just go spreading a bad word about them to other people, leaving that person wondering what he's done wrong if he or she hasn't realized it.
That's why I chose not to go with them right now to support the pep squad. They all went to watch except me. Me-anne even asked me if I was sure that I wanted to stay, because everyone will be there watching. Yeah, I'd rather be alone than know that "plastic" people are around me. It's much more comforting for me. I'm sorry if I wasn't there for the pep squad. But I'll support them all the way; I'll be there in spirit.
I guess Joana was right. I just didn't want to see that it was true. There are "plastic" people in the org.
I've almost had enough of them. If they don't realize that it's affecting the members because the officers won't even try to get along, I'm gonna be indefinitely inactive next term. I don't care if I have no place to go during breaks. It's better than staying in the cubicle seeing all this happen.
Ugh. As if I don't have enough problems already. What a way to end the week.

pinoybloggers and photography
I joined an EGroup this week for Pinoy bloggers. Golly, because of this group, my inbox has been crammed full of messages. Hmmm...I wonder if I should stick with individual emails for this group or use that daily digest thing. Oh well.
I met Flea, the group owner, online on Yahoo! Mesenger last night.
It's Kris' 17th birthday today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KRIS!!! *hugz*
In Fotogra class yesterday, Sir Joe gave a demo on how to process and develop film. Sir Joe was so funny everytime he counted the seconds that the photo paper was exposed to the light. He was going, "One banana...two banana...three banana..." Eheheheheh. It was actually pretty cool. I remember how we all watched in amazement how the image appeared on the photo paper while it was soaked in the developer. I can't wait to start developing my pictures for the midterms. Eheheheheh, maybe if I save enough money before midterms, I can develop some personal pics of my own. Black and white film is actually cooler than colored pics. They look more nostalgic that way.
I stayed after school until around 9 in the evening to wait for Archer's pep squad practice to end. I got out at 7:30, and then headed for DLSU's Marian quadrangle to watch them practice. There was even this one time when he sent me a text message while I was sitting on one of the benches surrounding the quad, while he was standing around. I saw him hold up a pair of binoculars to his eyes to take a look at me.
Arg, another Thursday, another day for Tecdra2 class. At least there's still the chorale concert to look forward to this weekend. Ey, Jammi, I changed my mind. I'm watching the concert this Saturday. I don't have anyone to go with tomorrow, so I rescheduled. ^_^ See you there, OK? I'm not sure who else is going, though. The only other Zobel alumna I know who's gonna watch is Kyten (Kristine).

I don't really know what title to put in this entry. Oh well.
I ran into Pam and her brother Roderik this evening in ATC. It's Rod's birthday today! Happy birthday, Rod!!!
I lent Me-Anne the pictures I developed last Friday. She wanted to scan those group pics of us. I also asked her if she could scan some of the Proof pics for me. Arg, if I only had my own scanner, I'd do it myself. Heck, my brother didn't even bother having our printer fixed, so why would I keep hoping for a scanner? Oh well. Anyway, I'll put up the pics in my site as soon as Me-Anne is done scanning all the pics I asked her.
Speaking of which, is it me, or is Envy.nu down? Arg. I gotta switch to Port5. Oh well, maybe some other time. I'm still busy filing for shifting.
I'm getting sleepy. ZZzzz...

I still keep forgetting how to archive my entries, no matter how simple the instructions were. Argh. I think I'm getting stupid.
Well, I got a free ticket for Lea's Broadway Concert last night. I was so thrilled to get one when it's usually hard to buy them.
I'm getting ahead of myself. Anyway.
I spent yesterday afternoon hanging out with Rosa at Robinson's Place. I missed hanging out with Rosa like that. Walking around the mall together, going in and out of stores, playing with stuffed animals, checking out clothes, testing make-up (well, just me; Rosa just looks on and tries occasionally).
When we returned to Taft, she went with me to claim the developed pictures of Proof along with some wacky YFC group pics. I was so thrilled to see the pics with the cast. Rosa said that Mike and I looked like father and daughter. Heeheehee, crazy Mike for a dad? Nyak. ^_^
Krystal and I agreed to meet in school in the evening so we could go to PICC together for the concert. We took one of those orange jeeps, and when we got to the PICC, the parking lot was already full. Whoa.
Security was pretty tight, and we had to line up at the main entrance to have our bags checked. We then went to the guests registration table to ask for our tickets. Miss Bernice told us that we were to get our tickets from Sally, this girl from Atlantis, but we didn't know what Ssally looked like, so we just sent a text message to Miss Bernice about it. We finally saw Miss Bernice (with her cousin, who got Krissy's ticket because she couldn't attend) at the theater lobby, where she gave us our tickets, saying, "You guys are in Row A. We'll be in Row G. You can go inside na if you want to."
So we did. OUr seats were great. It was right smack in the middle of the theater, so we got a great view of everything. It was pretty nice of Bernice to give us those tickets instead of sitting farther in the back. Rog was sitting with them, by the by.
While Krystal and I were just sitting there, looking around, I thought I saw Dior, my old Playshop classmate. I spend a good 15 minutes trying to catch the girl's eye to see it was her, then gave up. Funny enough, the girl caught my eye 5 minutes after that, and waved to me. It was Dior! It was great to see her. I haven't seen her in a long time.
The concert was really great. It started off with Katrice, acting as the young Lea, re-enacting Lea's first audition with Repertory Philippines. Then Lea comes in in a gorgeous dark blue pants suit. Lea posted the concert's repertoire in her newsgroups, so I didn't have to look at the program (I didn't have time to buy one when we went in the theater). Some of my favorite songs were "Another Hundred People" (Company), "I Enjoy Being a Girl" (Flower Drum Song), "Wouldn't it Be Loverly" (My Fair Lady) with Mike, Calvin Millado, and Carlo Orosa, "Nothing" (A Chorus Line), and "You'll Never Get Away From Me"/"Together Wherever We Go" (Gypsy) with Katrice are the ones I could mention.
I also remember when Lea was talking about those love songs in musicals, and when Krystal and I heard Lea say, "Ay! Que romantic!" we suddenly burst out laughing! That was another variation of the frequently used phrase that the cast (along with Bobby and Bernice) says backstage! Heheheheh, it was so funny! And it was great to see Lea showing her real self out there.
And the entire concert felt so much like a dream. But it can't be, coz I have the ticket and the program to show for it. ^_^
