Waiboogie! Kurai has a weblog!!!! Wheee! I must update soon to put it up on my list! Kurai is such an /amazing/ artist (she's responsible for the insanely cool Ebbie picture on my homepage...) and she has so many utterly gorgeous pictures on her site and I am always completely jealous of anything and everything she does and I am soooo definitely going to contract her to do any pictures for anything I ever do because she absolutely positively completely rules the world!!!

... and we have the same first name. Who knew?

Thursday, June 14, 2001,07:52 a.m.

What new Tori Amos album is Neil Gaiman talking about? Did I miss something?

Wednesday, June 13, 2001,04:15 p.m.

Fuck...! Lunar , my chair only "victory spins" halfway! I can't get up enough inertia to get a full 360 (Yes, I was re-reading your short Zack fic because it rules supreme.)

I am so bored I am so bored I am going C-R-A-Z-Y!!!!

Oh hell with it, if that english copy of Clover 1 is still at the comic book store when I get out of work, I'm buying it. They even have the nifty half-translucent slipcover and everything...

Wednesday, June 13, 2001,11:37 a.m.

Circumcision - the history of the most contraversial medical procedure in the world. (on a book I just checked in)

WHAT?!?!?!

Not abortion, not the number of grossly unnecessary hysterectomies , not women having their asses sucked out and implanted into their lips to impress their meathead boyfriends... No. Circumscision... a procedure that, as far as I can tell, seems pretty damn cosmetic.

>.< the penis is king and it pisses me off. I need to stop reading so many feminist koans and sink back into ignorance.

It all started this morning, when I read that my former high-school (never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups) expelled a student with a 3.75 gpa for bringing in a three and a half inch blade as a part of his prom outfit (he plays the bagpipes, and the blade is a traditional part of the getup) He kept the blade in its holder at his ankle the entire time, and had no intention of ever drawing it out... blah blah blah... zero tolerance... blah blah blah... all officials are morons... blah blah blah... "gee, let me ruin your life because I don't have to care about anything"... blah blah blah...

... and Ragabash is /completely/ right... Timeline absolutely /sucked/. Too bad all copies can't be stuck in a toaster a la "Flaming Poptart."

The website only partially updated, I haven't had time to change the look, I'm freaking tired and I /REALLY/ need to smite something.

AAARRGH!!!

Monday, June 11, 2001,04:09 p.m.

Lovely... read all of Megatokyo... wrote just over 2/3 of a page of LHR

No, I do not use my free time wisely

Cheating at Scrabble is up and running... well, skipping and hopping at any rate.

Thanks for the Kuja fic Lunar... I'll rave about it more later but right now I just had to say SWWEEEEEEEET!

Lilack , if you build Neurotic Cowards, they will come. : ) On that note... great new blog look. Have you ever been to Voices Carry Handpuppet Theatre? Those people are pure freaking geniuses.

and tonight... Tambi makes her debut... whee! WinAmp! (unless, of course, I get distracted by Dream a Dream and Dub a Dub (damn those side combos!)

Saturday, June 9, 2001,06:03 p.m.

I am now appropriating all of the card catalog reference book slips for use as note sheets for blogs I need to add to my list, and to rip up and stick into books to mark pages I need to scan for my next layout.

Next time, if I remember... I'll read all of Megatokyo.

God, I love my slacker ass... : D

Saturday, June 9, 2001,09:58 a.m.

I finally figured it out! Wheee! I'm still not too happy about the volume and balance bar turnout... but what the hell : D It's a really cool looking skin anyway.

I reserve the next three-and-a-half minutes to feel like the man.

Ooh, and I saw a caterpillar too!

Friday, June 8, 2001,12:43 p.m.

Ah, thank you very much Ragabash for the author reccommendation. I'm going to do my best to bury him in books : ) (and Cowboy Bebop, now that I have some blank tapes) whee! He won't get any work done for a year!

Lilack , I think that if Neurotic Cowards existed, the members would either be too worried to join, or too busy obsessing over being "labeled". Hee hee hee... good thing we neurotics have so much noisy, shiny crap to distract us.

Speaking of noisy, shiny crap, DDR is short for Dance Dance Revolution, the game with all the arrows and the abysmally fragile dance pads... I don't really know how to explain it, other than it's either a lot of fun or frustrating as all get-out. Or both.

... and Ann , I finally got my mother to play last night. We played "Have You Ever Been Mellow" about 5 times... it was insane fun.

I need to see the end of Trigun... damn this lack of funds!

... and Lunar, , if you're my muse, at least some of that should reflect... I want more squishy Kuja, darn it! Please?!

Friday, June 8, 2001,12:20 p.m.

AAAARGH!!! >.< The Tambi skin looks /so/ cool, and I've figured out how to fix the equalizer look, the font for the numbers, /everything/ but the /BLOODY CURSORS!!!!/ Where the hell are the files? How can I modify the buttons if the damn things don't exist?!

The only thing I can think is that it's a part of one of the other .bmp's, and I just didn't notice it... not that any of the tutorials could be any /less/ helpful if they were written in SANSKRIT!!!!

Thursday, June 7, 2001,11:09 a.m.

The computers at work don't have any HTML programs so I'm doing all of this HTML code (... but Twig, what HTML code? Hush.) by hand. I feel so very marginally l33+.

Thursday, June 7, 2001,11:04 a.m.

Well, Ann, I finished all of The Jar with no damage to my job and only partial damage to my Catholic morals... okay, the rubble of my catholic morals.

All I have to say is... triple word score. I definitely need to keep up on this one.

... and also, prune walnut square. (and I will send a package of cookies to the first person who knows where I took /that/ reference from).

Thursday, June 7, 2001,10:37 a.m.

Strange books? They find me, I swear. : )

Thursday, June 7, 2001,10:01 a.m.

I really think there ought to be some sort of tag I can wear or something that says "I am a writer" or "I am an artist" so people won't be so freaked out when I ask them weird questions. See, apart from when I'm with friends or on the net, I'm really not a very outspoken or gregarious person (read: I am a neurotic coward). So talking to people at random just really isn't my bag... but there are certian things I just can't quite get in my head when it comes to my characters, not without real world examples to relate to... such as appropriate personality traits in small children (aka. what kids do at what ages), approximate height, weight of people, etc... and how am I supposed to approach a guy on the street and tell him I need to take his picture because from the eyebrows up he's the perfect Brendan?

geek problems...

Speaking of which, Chenoa walked right through the door this morning... I don't remember what age I made her in Strange Day, but now she's one month shy of being two.

Yay! Ann , there's a new Rishi column in the State News! I love Rishi... even when he bashes hippies.

Oh, and thanks for that comic link. I'll try to check it out here and there, but I know I'm not supposed to use the computers on my shift for that sort of thing... eh, I'll be covert : )

Oh yeah, and Russ let me borrow Vibribbon and that party games game! I'll bring over everything on Sunday. There should still be time to play, even after Wizzy's, ne?

Wednesday, June 6, 2001,04:32 p.m.

All right, literary mavens, a challenge for you. One of my old profs is looking for good summer reading material in between working on his dissertation... so I need book ideas. Favorites. Whatever. He's totally into science fiction and anything off-the-wall, and I've got a list of mine, but was just wondering if anyone had any to share.

Just put 'em on your blogs. I read all the ones I have posted on my list. : )

He's also teaching a class next semester on Introduction to Women Authors... so if you have any ideas there either, feel free.

Wednesday, June 6, 2001,01:53 p.m.

"The Self-Canonization Disguised as Self-Destruction Masquerading as Self-Aggrandizement Disguised as Self-Flagellation as Highest Art Form of All Aspect." - from "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius"

hey, it's me!

I haven't even started the /book/ yet and already it's blowing my mind... if I ever read Ulysses I think it will be a lot like this.

Wednesday, June 6, 2001,11:47 a.m.

whee!

Monday, June 4, 2001,04:59 p.m.

It came it came it came it came it came it came it came it came!!!!!

<runs around from floor to ceiling and back again>

It came it came it came it came it came it came it came!!!!

<pant pant pant>

It came it came it came it came it came!!!!!

I just spend 2 hours testing out my new DDR pads and games, and despite being unable to play 3 of them due to my inability to read the instructions in Japanese, it was just completely AWESOME!!!

I will master Paranoia... erm, easy stage... >.< Ann, you have to get over here!!!! (and yes, you'd better not forget about Bitchwidget... we still haven't smacked the crap out of Pinata Joe yet... hee hee hee) What do you think about making Archemedies a half-saytr? I dunno... I'll write you a longer letter later.

Hey Lilack, excellent picture for your blog. Cowboy Bebop rules, and that episode is especially kick ass... (I like that one, Mushroom Samba and Pierrot La Fue <sp>) The link to the internet bumper stickers is sweet... and I do hope you get through your classes all right. Hang in there. : ) oh, and Aftermath is stunningly beautiful... and I don't even like X or TB... (yeah, that was a compliment, but I just suck at using words in real life situations)

Hey Lunar... look at this.

... and on other matters, I told ya there was a reason I didn't write with bards or elves.

Adien: points at self and Penge

Well... they came out of nowhere, so that's not my fault. Anyhow... sorry to hear you've been having technical difficulties all across the board, but I applaud you for doing an excellent job of keeping in touch : ) (I would have just sat back and not talked to anyone for about a month)

Speaking of a month... yeah, LHR 28 is a little overdue, but I haven't forgotten about it. : )

Oh, and Lunar, if Ann didn't show you, here's the "posse pic" for Lucky Star.

Hey... if anyone didn't see this... I think it's freakin hilarious.

Off to go play more DDR until my knees explode.

Oh hell, I think Leareth /did/ mean me... >.<

Sunday, June 3, 2001,06:50 p.m.

One day left!!! Wahoo! DDR time! : D

Must get new Radiohead tomorrow... must must must....

You know, macaroni and cheese takes much too long to prepare for what you get out of it. Bleah.

I'm probably going to start working at the gate house at the park again as well as the library. It was a good time killer last year, and it's not like I do that much with the free time I have... so it's all good.

Ann drew up the pre-sketch for the characters in Lucky Star... this is going to be so awesome!

I pulled out an old cover from one of my 20/20 visions comics... the story was absolutely horrible, dark to the point of "who cares if anyone makes it out alive?" but the cover was kind of nifty so I think I'm going to try and skin it... that and one of Tambi from Strangers In Paradise.

I must learn icons.

I put up the wrong Spent Casings link... this one is the one with the homicidal Hello Kitty. Oops.

Why is there no Butterfly on the American version of DDR? What brown acid were they tripping on? >.<

Haagen - Dazs has a Tiramisu flavor!?

Excuse me while I run off to the store : D

Friday, June 1, 2001,10:39 a.m.

I need the Sol Bianca song!!!  Argh!

Friday, June 1, 2001,10:37 a.m.

I so need to read "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius" by Dave Eggers... it looks so cool.

Hey... does anyone know where I can go about learning how to change my WinAmp icons? Just wondering...

* rant alert

... article in the paper yesterday about AIDS rates rising because people are no longer listening to the warnings.

It's not my job or the government's job to make AIDS warnings more "interesting" so that people will listen. If you have promiscious sex, you might get HIV. Everyone knows it. If other people don't want to take care of their own lives, it's not my problem and there's nothing I can do about it.

* end of rant

(yeah, Ann, you really should have heard me rage at the paper over this one... but I did get a kick out of those kids holding off the cops in Idaho.)

If anyone hasn't yet (yeah, right) read Neil Gaiman's May 31 blog entry. Much fun.

Natalie Baan's going to Shojocon... <sigh> The chance to meet such an awesome writer in person... and I can't go! Arrrgh!

I need to rent Gladiator, Fight Club and Blade for some screencaps... I should do that today.

Wednesday, May 30, 2001,11:22 p.m.

I covered up the swear words in the graphic just in case anyone might get upset about it. <shrug>

I didn't move all that recently, but it's never too late to start bitching about losing an ethernet connection. >.<

Oh... do not do not do not read Vinegar Hill and White Oleander back to back (I read Second Hand in between and I still nearly lost it.) It will bum you out to no end... so beautiful but so freakin painful... made me want to hide under the bed and hug the feather pillow for about a month...

T-minus 5 days and counting to total DDR hookup... i hope i hope i hope all goes well...

Lilack! You're back! ... and you've got a great new look! (of course you do, you always do) LHR's on its way sometime soon I hope, and yes, Kaworu and Shinji /will/ eventually meet... I swear... but I'm trying to take care of a few originals as well as update the site again (hopefully) and do some new WinAmp skins, other art, etc etc etc... gotta move with the muse, I s'pose.

On that note, me and Ann are gearing up to start Lucky Star soon. I'm very excited about the possibilities on this one... it's gonna be awesome. (good chance to take credit for Ann's awesome writing <evil grin>)

Got a new artbook by the guy who did Lain. Very cool. I dunno whether I'll skin it or wallpaper it or use it for a new look... gawd, I've got so many things I want to do!

Oh... Spent Casings had the most insane Hello Kitty layout... but I think he changed it already. It's most definitely worth a look-see, though, so go to the archives! : )

Waugh! Lunar! Come back online! We miss you! >.<

I do not need another how to draw artbook I do not need another how to draw artbook I do not need another how to draw artbook...

... but it's so cool!!!!

Oh dear... I really hope Leareth didn't mean me...
