Thursday, May 10, 2001,03:21 p.m. Lilack's found Hana Kimi! All right!! Great new blog image, though I must say, especially with one of the first volumes of the manga, turning my brain off was the only way I got through it. (lol) I mean, really, did they have to go through all the different romantic cliches in a single scene? (saving girl from creepy guy, falling off cliff, spraining ankle /and/ getting a fever all at once?) I do love the way characters are drawn, though. The artist really has a lot of talent. I'd love to see an artbook or two from her (like I really need anymore, I've still got Evangelion: Eve and the Kaworu one-shot coming in the mail). Cool beans as well, my low grade was actually a high grade in disguise, the teacher accidentally made a mistake... and I got a surprise paycheck. So things are pretty good. My throat really hurts... >.< Gomen if this entry makes no sense, I've been pretty low energy all day.

Sunday, May 6, 2001,05:39 p.m. One word: eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaahhhhhhbooyaka!!!!!!! I need to see this movie. Lilack, don't worry, I've gotten off to a fantastic start on this summer by strewing most of my unpacked contents of my former dorm room all over the floor and losing an important e-mail address. On that note:(If you're from the Netherlands, and I was supposed to write you a list of good FF7 websites, please write me back... I'm a moron.) And BadMagick? If you're reading this, AOL won't let me write to you... I don't know what the heck's going on. So... things are going very, very, very slowly... and I just spent WAY too much on artbooks... and I'm going to ACEN next weekend... and the weekend after that is the Motor City ComicCon. Doomed. Just doomed. Wednesday, May 2, 2001,01:33 p.m. <secret masochist>: please sir, can I have another? <wham!> Oh yeah... that's why. <grin> Well anyway, fun stuff all around... new artbooks, new CD's, leaving for home in little over a day... one final left <la la la, I'm not studying! La la la, I can't hear you!> <opens up "Adam" book, drools over Kaworu some more> ... and because I am a cool, mature person, I did not scramble over to Ann's room in my pajamas and slipper socks at 8:30 am to tell her we actually were mentioned on Ragabash's blogger. Oh no, not me, never... : ) <looks at newspaper> Isn't it nice when gas prices top two bucks a gallon, /and/ Bush begins a plan to piss off the rest of the world, all in one day? Gee...<whistle> I think I need a Slurpee... and some Valium... ... but at least I got a job. : D Lilack, I actually liked Serge, and the plot was all right, but the fact that you had to play the game through /again/ for an ending with almost no new FMV footage or anything else was just obscene. I mean, at least with Final Fantasy, they know why I was playing the game... FMV's... I don't care what happens or how absurd the plot is (coughcough FF8 cough cough) but just set me up with a long FMV at the end and I won't complain... too loudly. Chrono Cross really needed that big ending FMV. LHR? Slow... I guess I really do write angst better than sap. (Not only a hack, but a singularly talented hack. Waiboogie.) Whisper is progressing slightly faster, unless I bollocks up the Eva plot (more than likely, seeing as I watched the entire show in a daylong fell swoop... /that/ will mess you up...) I hope you like the new K&P... if it's no good, I swear, it will get better. : ) Well, that's about it... I just can't write anything extended about the Peanuts-Eva connection me and Ann have been creating... (Shinji as Charlie Brown, Rei as Marcie (Ann: or Rerun... ha ha), Asuka as Peppermint Patty and Gendo as the Kite-Eating Tree) or our continuing complaints with Weiss Kreuz (with backgrounds created by somebody's cousin or stolen from Speed Racer. Ann: and a plot deep enough to measure with a six-inch ruler) Ooh! My online friend is death! Cool! New obsession: Girl Genius (surprisingly not a part of the "We are Image, one out of fifty of our comics actually contains semi-original plot!" growing library) (yes, I read Battle Chasers, yes I'm a hypocrite) New Line: (SiP) "David is the most persistent sheep on earth. David would also die for me, I know that... He thinks patience will bring me to him again. He's wrong. David slept with a woman in flames, but she's gone now . Gone and forgotten. It's my life now. I'm back. And I do not lie down with sheep." (Katchoo, I used to not like her so much, but she's growing on me) New CD fix: still Snatch. I could do some cool retro mage-crime spree story... but really, the paper dolls ought to come first... New Lunacy: I will /not/ muck about with WinAmp skins, I will /not/ muck about with WinAmp skins... it doesn't matter that there are no really good SiP or Maxx skins... I won't I won't I won't.... >.< (Is it really "giving in" to temptation, when I track /it/ down?) Monday, April 30, 2001,03:22 p.m.
Monday, April 30, 2001,03:14 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2001,08:09 p.m. Me: So, Subaru decides to check out the apocalypse from... Tahiti, I mean, what does he give a shit anymore? ... and so everyone's got to go over there to bring him back. Yuziriha (yes, my spelling is atrocious) - "Wow, I get to see Kusinagi in a speedo!" Wierd boy/girl/android thing - "Do I wear a suit or swim trunks? Kanoe (the uber ho) - Don't worry... all those beaches in Tahiti are clothing optional. I'm counting on it. Ann: That is very scary (the Kusinagi in a speedo thing). ...and you know, Yuuto would just put on his sunglasses and /go/..." Me: Ann: You know, one of these days we're going to become /actual friends/ (think big sparkly eyes) with Ragabash, and then they'll find out that we think Yuuto's a big dork, and they won't like us any more... Me: This conversation is so going in my blogger. (Ann, feel free to kick my butt if I forgot anything important!) So... after all our Ragabash-worshiping and dreams of entering the coveted "inner circle" (Ann's much closer than I am)... we bought microwave meals for dinner. Only as we got home did we realize the microwave had already been moved out. Thus, we were forced to wheedle a spare off the very nice receptionist... and dinner was saved. Lilack, yes, the images are from the Utena movie ( How on earth did you enjoy Chrono Cross? The game made me hurt in ways I didn't think I could hurt before, and I just watched Heather slog her way through a second game for what we all though was not /nearly/ a decent enough ending... Waiboogie! The multitalented Lunar has a blog! I /love/ that picture... and she's got just as many loony characters running around her head as I do!!! So cool! On that note... she also sent me a picture of her in her new hat. Flidget and Lunar really are two of the coolest, most talented people... I'm so lucky!!! So... the only other thing I can think of is that Ann translated a part of my FF7 doujinshi "Rebirth"... it's an 8-page "Twin Signal" spoof called "Twin Sephiroth (yes, Seph is chibi through most of it.) I typed in all the english translations, and if you go here and then type in 2, 3, 4 after the ts in the address, you should be able to see all 8 pages. I'm giving it as a gift to Sephiroth's Dream, but I'm too proud not to brag a bit first... Friday, April 27, 2001,09:58 p.m. I might have a job now, so things are looking up... and I've got the final rough draft for chapter one of the third book of Knights and Pawns... Finally scored at least part of the soundtrack to Black Beauty on a Danny Elfman compilation 2-cd set... so nice, it even has liner notes. I'm such a movie soundtrack junkie... and my Curly Sue soundtrack should get here any day now... Brendan so wants to be Korbin Dallas (Fifth Element). I swear I'm just crazy, not dangerous. @.o WOOHOO! STOMP TOMORROW!!! I love going to the theatre, especially when people run around with giant cans on their feet.

I never realized ability could be a punishment. Wednesday, April 25, 2001,11:47 a.m. If anyone out there hasn't been to atomfilms to check out the "Angry Kid" shorts (done by the same guy who did Chicken Run, Wallace and Gromit, and Creature Comforts I'm pretty sure) I would definitely reccommend it. Especially "Backwards Writing". Stupid, crude, and hilarious. God... I really do love college radio: theimpact.
Saw the preview of "A Knight's Tale"... it was awesome. Definitely a good popcorn movie. Also had a preview for the Final Fantasy movie...
Oooh... between Terry Moore (Strangers in Paradise) and Joss Whedon (Buffy) I'm walking circles right into the ground... darn it, Terry, how can you do that to Katchoo and Francine? (David... erm, we're ok with... but can't you hit him with a tank or something? Give him a manly death?) <evil grin> Joss... how could you do that to Tara!? Dude!!! All of this on top of the dead mom thing? Why do I keep watching?
OMG--- Sarah McLachlan and Phish doing a duet of Cat Steven's "Sad Lisa"... <sigh> <melt>
It's so nice when things work out. : )
Well... must go watch Nero Wolfe... check out Ann's blogger for a Nero-esque theme. She's so cool!
Can I please, /please/ be allowed to jump ahead in time to fall semester? PLEASE!?

1. Terry Moore (Strangers in Paradise), impressed with my work, draws me a picture of Tarcye and Carlise.
2. I learn how to use cel paints, and do single-cels of all my characters... er, maybe just everyone from Knights and Pawns
3. Learn Japanese. Read Gestalt. Find out what the hell happened to Oliver's arms.
4. Go to Japan. Refuse to return because plane can't take off carrying that much manga.
5. Start a publishing company. Declare war on Bantam publishers for putting out Britney Spears' co-authored book (trees /died/ for this?!)
