Ok, so maybe I shouldn't really watch ABC chanel when I have exams to study for, but this documentary was just too... politically interesting to pass up: "Fa Lun Gong and China's oppression of it"
It's quite interesting how the generaly view point is that the govt is being extremely cruel and brutal in their treatment of individual rights and freedoms. Sometimes, the public doesn't see it from the govtmental view point. It is justified in their opinion since it is a potential political threat. I'm saying whether or not it actually is politically motivated, but *shrug* most things in China these days are either politically or financially motivated. But when the leader Li Hong Zhi call the govt as evil and call on followers to rebel against the govt, then it does become a political 'threat'.

It is, however, the belief of this 'cult' (+ I will address it as such) that really astounds me. It is also the reliance of the masses on something that is unproven, unfounded and downright plagiarised that really gets to me. Are the common masses so blind as to believe anything that is published? Perhaps like in the 21st century, Helen Fielding described in her novels the modern world individual is ruled by self-help books, they are also prone to fall under the simple solutions/salvation offered by 'religious fanaticism'? (I exaggerate)

I am happy to have a proper discussion on this topic if anyone cares to try it out... ^-^ ja!

In between lectures now, dammit Hate early morning maths... 3 more days and no more 8 o'clock lectures for the year!!! Yipppppeeee!!!
As Leareth-chan knows I didn't do any work (esp. psych last night). Since I found more entertaining stuff to read else where ^_~. This lil' vampiric shounen ai story ^-~ hihi very sweet, political, historical etc. Very interesting.
