I want to be the wind... A wind like a breath... At times, I want to be the wind that
fights against you, the wind that dries your tears, or the wind that eases your tiredness.

I want to be a wind like that. I want to fly. I want to sweep up sadness and spread
happiness. When you’re sad, just cry. I’ll be there. When you’re happy, just call. I’ll be there.

But because we are girls, there are times that you get tired. There are times that you hold back
your tears. In times like that, darling, I’m going to come flying down, so hold me in your arms gently.

Layout

Tsubasa: Ver. 1.0

Finished: July 15, 2001

Obviously, best viewed at screen resolutions of 800x600 (or higher). Not that it won't work at lower resolutions. But the layout will suck dead donkeys.

Starring: Kusakabe Maron, of Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne

Why?: Because Maron's the damned coolest shoujo manga heroine of the damned coolest manga ever. *cough* Personal opinion, what's that? Aside from that, since the name of the weblog is "tsubasa," or "wings," for those who are even more Japanese- illiterate than I, a wind-themed layout seemed appropriate. And KKJ is just overflowing with fun heaven/God/angels/wind-related stuff.

Inspiraton: "Although wind may travel kindly or violently, it never disappears."

Now Playing: Hearts - Nishihata Saori [Star Ocean EX Ending]

Nick and I were talking about monstrously long fanfictions earlier today (or rather, yesterday ^_^;;). So I downloaded text files of two stories that stood out in my mind the most, wondering just how long they were. (I do believe they stand out because 1) They're both very, very good, and 2) It's been years since both stories began, and they're BOTH NOT FINISHED~! ;_;) Pokemon Master by Ace Sanchez is 1.1 megs. Hearts of Ice [Ranma 1/2] by Krisa Perry is 1.5 megs. That's in plain text. My mind BLEEDS~. And it rather scares me that it's only a small portion of the total amount of fanfiction I've read.

*ponders* It's been almost 10 years since I started watching anime. Mid-September will be the 10th anniversary~! X3 (Ironically enough, the first anime I watched was a parody of many genres of anime. I can definately say I appreciate Project A-ko to a much greater extent now. :3) My first manga, Ranma 1/2, was eight years ago. The first fanfiction probably wasn't long after that. (I didn't actually know it was fanfiction at first...I was reading Ranma TV episode summaries at the time, and it seemed all the same to me. ^_^;;) It's been 5-6 years since my first taste of shoujo, and thanks to the newly-acquired internet, I was able to fully appreciate *cough*obsess over*cough* it. (It's also been 5 years since Hearts of Ice began @_@) ...I don't understand how my parents can possible think I'll eventually get over this "phase," when it's been a part of my life for the past decade, and if anything, the obsession just gets stronger. ^_^; I find it pretty funny that my dad thinks the anime infatuation will die off in college (as with Nont), where I'll have the most access to anime. ^^;; Besides~, there's a lot of middle-aged people who <3 anime and manga too. :3

Now Playing: The Dream Within - Lara Fabian [Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within]

Hmmm...this is a rather nice song; not as good as some other Square vocals I've heard, but it's pretty. XD XD XD Square Pictures! Is making! A L'arc~en~Ciel music video!!! XD XD XD *bounces around happily* I want to hear the Laruku song now. X3

I was reading some of the FF movie reviews. And had quite a bit of fun laughing at the critics. Many complained that the plot was convoluted and hard to understand. Oh, I pity the poor souls with such tiny brains. Okay, I guess that was rather mean of me. X3 But really...the plot seemed rather straightforward and easy to understand to me. If they think the movie was convoluted, I'd like to watch them play Xenogears. Though I'd stand a considerable distance away; I wouldn't want their brains exploding on me. X3 Myself, I though the movie had a great plot. I admit it was cliched at times, but they had some rather unique ideas I thought. It's too bad the characters came from cliche-land. >_>

Got my KKJ manga today. *drooool* Preeeeeetty aaaaart. And right on the front of the last volume is a pretty feather picture I've been searching for! It's too bad I don't have a scanner...I really wanted to put feathers around my title image. ;_; *sigh* I'll have to read KKJ over again after I'm done with my finals~. It's too bad Redrival's being an evil webhost...I don't know when I'll get to see the translations again~! ;_; But four year-old Access/Shinji's marriage proposal to Fin/Natsuki in the last chapter is so cuuuuuute! X3

Shinji: Fi...n? *uryu~* Yatta~! Suki da ze, Natsuki! Kekkon shite kure!
Maron-kaasan: Kya <3
Miyako-kaasan: Gya~! Nani ikinari puropozu shiteru no~?!

XD XD XD And even at a young age, he's speaking macho-talk! X3

Fecking fecking FUCK. Bush is a goddamned IDIOT. Think this is all sparkly and wonderful? Feh. And this isn't a load of bull. People I know have personally seen that this shit happens, and the fools want to let it continue. Hopefully the Senate has enough sense to shoot it down before it becomes law.

Now Playing: Friend ~Itsu Mademo Wasurenai~ (Friend ~Never Forgotten~) - Maeda Ai/ AiM [Digimon Adventure 02 - 4th Movie Theme]

This song is so happy and pre~tty. *kiraaan* It's not even genki genki happy either. It's just...happy happy life-is-good happy. *_* And it helps that Maeda Ai has such a cute pre~tty voice. *cough* More than I can say for the so-called music of the American dub. ¬_¬ But I digress.

XD XD XD It'd be so much fun to have a giggling fangirlish mother like that. :3

Nick: *rolls around in sleep* *opens eyes* Sheep go MOO. Zzzzz.
Vinita: ...

I went to watch Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within Saturday night after violin lessons. *kira* Preeeeetty graaaaaaphics. Though I'm still a bit miffed that the closest thing I get to eyecandy is Gray, the Irritating Alpha Male. >_< Though I admit he got better as the movie went on... I wasn't expecting any angsty bishies, but they could've done better than that. *sigh* Anyway. Plot-wise, if you've played a fair share of the games, you get a general idea of what to expect. The characters were woefully underdeveloped. Right when a character starts to get a bit interesting, they go and die. All the character development goes so much better in the games where they have 40+ hours to work with. :p Aki has some rather sucky recurring dreams. ^_- I liked Dr. Cid though. It's always the Funny Old Men with the best humour. It's definately a movie to watch with friends who've played the game before. Nothing like pointing out all the little things that only an avid game fan would notice. *g* There's the mini-game from hell! Midgar Zolom! Midgar Canon! This obviously isn't the same world as FF7, because their lifestream is blu~e! Time to lock up the two lovebirds in a small enclosed space and see what ha~ppens! *niko niko* It's too bad I tend to...zone...out during important parts of the movie. Like the diary part and what exactly General Seifer-look-alike was planning on doing with whatever let the spirits in. ;;>_> I wanted to hear the music as the credits rolled, but no one else wanted to stay~. ;_; I wanted to hear the two vocals! Especially the one by L'arc~en~Ciel! Laruku~! ;_; Well, I'm sure Meli will be willing to stay behind whenever I go watch it with her.

I was poking around at Ruri-chan's place, and found her entire CCS/D.N. Angel ficcy posted. XD It's beta, but I can still read it~! X3

*sparkle* I want to see this. It's too bad I haven't seen any Miyazaki films besides Mononoke Hime. ;_;

Now Playing: I'll Remember - Madonna

Damn, she's cool. :3 I <3 her Card Captor Sakura/D.N. Angel crossover ficcy, her current layout is chooouuu kawaii~, and she loves Ender's Game/Shadow. XD And she even had a Dragon Army layout titled grey-orange-grey. XD XD XD Admitedly, I've never liked the color orange, but hey, it's the DRAGON ARMY. X3

Now Playing: Endless Loop [Arranged] [Basara Opening]

I still can't believe Basara was canceled after 13 episodes. T_T And after such an evil cliffhanger. And the manga was really popular too~! Dooouuushite?! ;_;

A few days ago, I told Jonathan about That Dream. Actually, all I said was that he was acting gay, Ryan WAS gay, and Hillary Clinton was elected president. *shudders again* I decided not to divulge the...details of Ryan's gayness. ;>_> And he said, and I quote, "Ryan was gay? Hmmmm...that's not a bad dream. *lol* Just kidding." o_O Riiiight. I wonder if I should be worried for him. *eg*

I couldn't find a place to download the Catch You Catch Me Remix last night~. And since Napster's crap now...;_;

Now Playing: Oni to Sakura (Demons and Cherry Blossoms) - Pierrot

*ROFLMAO* Not for prudes or the faint of heart. XD On the other hand, those who are extremely ecchi can appreciate this. Take a look, Sarah. XD~ Homophobes should especially avoid the last two. *niko* And before anyone asks, I did not participate in these discussions; got the links from another weblog. According to Tin:

fangirls1.htm -- On linguistic barriers to true love and Card Captor Sakura emoticons XD

fangirls2.htm -- On BAD romance novel euphemisms and examples thereof.

fangirls3.htm -- On the origins of the Uke Sack and Seme Sack and other vibrating things.

fangirls4.htm -- Krad and Dark from DNAngel discussing the practical uses of said sacks plus related merchandise offers.

Oh yes. A seme is the top one, and an uke is the bottom one. As in, gay male sex. So, away homophobes, away! XD I find the 2nd one particularly...howl worthy. XD XD XD

Now Playing: Scarlet - Iwao Junko [Ayashi no Ceres Opening]

Such a pretty pretty song...*_* And Iwao Junko's voice is so beautiful~. And her normal voice is sooo much nicer to listen to her Tomoyo voice. Though apparently I'm the only one in the world who gets slightly annoyed by Tomoyo's mega-high-pitched voice, since everyone else adores and gushes over it. >_>

Anyway. I was looking at my list of current favorite manga, and realized that it's ALL shoujo, with the exception of Chobits. Of course, although Chobits is very much a guy's manga (fan service, fan service everywhere~), it's still written by CLAMP. >_> I am such a shoujo fangirl. XD And I never really became obsessed with anime till I watched shoujo. To think that I was turned off by it at first...but I suppose it's understandable, seeing as how the first two shoujo series I ever watched were Marmalade Boy and Fushigi Yuugi. Marmalade Boy is...Marmalade Boy. And Fushigi Yuugi stars Miaka, the epitome of ditziness and klutziness. I don't hate her, but considering that we're first introduced to her by her daydreaming about eating food...>_>;

It's too bad most of my favorites either never become anime or the manga to anime translation completely and utterly sucks. ;_; Like KKJ. ;_; The anime is so disappointing...

I watched the first episode of the anime, and I thought it was the average run-of-the-mill shoujo series. Keiko, miffed by the stupidity of the anime and the fact that NOTHING happens in it, dragged me to her house, showed me the manga, and translated/summarized about a dozen chapters for me. So I walk back home, lugging as many Ribon magazines as I can carry, wake my sister, and tell her that the anime marathon is to continue. (Whereupon she says, "I thought you were only going to be gone for a few minutes, not for a few hours." Eh heh. Oops. ^_^;;) So we continue watching KKJ, and *nothing* happened in those next three episodes. And I don't know how, but they manage to make everything and everyone...stupider. They apparently decided to throw the plot out the window too. XO And what the heck happened to Maron's henshin cross~? They changed it to some pink thing that belongs in Sailor Moon. XO I swear, that's the WORST manga to anime translation I've ever seen, bias or no bias.

Oh well. At least I have my manga now. <3 *niko niko* That is, whenever Keiko gets around to giving it to me. >_> And when I get around to seeing Meli, I shall have to show them to her. Because I just *know* she's going to be staring and on the verge of drooling. Because that's what she did when I showed her the pic of Chiaki unconcious, chained to a wall, and, BLOODY. XD

Now Playing: Scarborough Fair - Sarah Brightman

Sarah Brightman has such a nice voice. *_* I really <3 Scarborough Fair, and her arrangement of it is su-te-ki~. <3<3 <3 I wonder if my dad brought his Sarah Brightman cd with him to Lufkin...I'll have to raid his cd shelves later.

I tried the heart rate chest strap for the treadmill today. It's quite obviously designed by a male. >_> It's made to be strapped horizontally accross your chest, so that the indicator is pressed tightly to the heart area. Which is pretty much impossible with two globs of fat in the way. Definately a male's design. -_-;;

Now Playing: Blasphemous Rumours - Depeche Mode.

Fixed the 2nd entry, which was messed up and had the first entry in it. Oops.

*pouts* Does it really seem like a bitch for the entirety of this weblog? I wasn't really~. Looking over the text, it's only about half a page's worth, and in comparison to the six pages worth of writing total, that's not so bad, right~? ;_;

Heh. Nice graduation photo, Fabian. You look much more dignified than my brother. ^_~ And yes, I just had to provide a link to it. *eg* You forgot Keiko's nickname for you. And if you like anything Asian, you MUST try Pocky, the quintessential Japanese snack. It's the modern-day ambrosia. Accept no substitutions! (As there are many...)

And that reminds me. The other day I was eating pudding Pocky, and I was wondering why the package said "purin" and not "puddingu." I looked up "purin" in an English-Japanese dictionary, and it's the abbreviated version of pudding. XD And in the Japanese version of Pokemon, Jigglypuff's name is Purin. So just imagine a pink ball of squishyness bouncing around singing "Pudding! Pud! Pud! Pudding!" XD~ When I told my sis that, she said that all the other pokemon must think that Purin has constant food cravings like me. *g*

For all those suffering from Pocky addiction. The comic strip's called "The Bad Boys of Computer Science." It's damned hilarious. They're anime fans too. *g* And here's another I can sympathize with: "Biggest Dorks." Any girl who's been around computer geek guys can appreciate that one. ^_~

And Meli! They have white and dark chocolate Mousse Pocky at that Well Farms oriental market on Hwy 6 in First Colony now! It's very yummy. ^__^

Ok. That's enough rhapsodizing about Pocky for now. XD

Now Playing: Eien no Kagayaki (Eternity's Radiance) - Maeda Ai/AiM

As amusing as that last entry was, I probably shouldn't post when I'm on the verge of bounching off the walls. ;;>_>

Nont's friend Joseph has one HELL of a sweet tooth. I just went downstairs to get a glass of water, and I noticed that a passion fruit syrup bottle that was once almost full is now half empty. My mom walks in, sees me boggling at the bottle, and starts laughing. >_> According to her, Joseph dumped half the contents of the bottle (about a cup's worth) in a mug, added some water and ice, drank the entire thing in one fell swoop, and went on and on about how goood it was. o_o That's more or less, 550 grams of sugar right there. Which is about the same amount of sugar as a 12-pack of coke. Apparently, this guy doesn't suffer from the effects of sugar shock.

My parents bought a treadmill, and it arrived today~! Now I can get some decent exercise without dying of heat stroke or becoming a tasty banquet for mosquitos! TV! Music! Wai~! *niko niko*

Called Keiko today. She found the whole incident with me nearly having a friggin' CORONARY when I saw Jonathan Wei (you just don't expect to see a person who's been living on the opposite side of the globe!) last week quite amusing. Though, I don't blame her, seeing as how if it weren't me, I probably would've been laughing my ass off too. His little brother apparently thought I was quite amusing. That is, after I recognized Jonathan and screamed "OH MY GOD!!!" In a restaraunt. Since he was giggling at me the entire time I was clutching my chest and gaping at Jonathan. >_> I was in a state of shock for a looong time, and during the entire exchange, I was only able to sputter a total of six words. Admittedly, not a spectacular example of the intelligence of mankind. >_>

Anyway, Keiko will NOT give me ANY of the stuff she bought with MY money. Grr. "Is it okay if I read your comic books first?" "I can't give you any panda stuff until I decide who gets what!" I can't even LOOK at the Tare Panda stuff. NOT FAIR. >_< Oh yes. "I didn't bring the big comic books (monthly Ribon anthology magazines) that you've been dying to see with me. So you'll probably never get to see them." NOT HAPPY. T_T*

Grr. Ah well, at least she bought the KKJ manga as a used set, so it only cost ~$14 ($2/volume!), which is about $35 less than if I had bought it in the U.S.

Now Playing: Dancin' on the Sky #2 - Inoue Miyako's Theme [Digimon Adventure 02]

Waaaaiiii!!! I! Am! Done! After going through a million (sucky) free image-editors, fiddling around with the html for an entirely too long a time, and staring at the computer screen for many many hours, I'm finally done with the layout! Ureshiii~! And it turned out a lot better than I thought it would! *kira kira* It's still...rather plain. But it's the best I could do with piddly little image-editors and only a wee bit of memory of how to html. So! If you diss the layout! Vinita shall SMITE you! *cackles*

*cough* Ok. Now that I've let that out of my system, I feel a somewhat less hyper. XD XD I think the music playing reflects my mood rather appropriately. XD

Anyway~, some basic stats for this layout are located that-a-way. *points to the table to left (frames suck!). BTW, most of the names are listed in Japanese order; as in, family name first, given name last.

Oh yes. It's not a proven theory, but staring at the title image for a prolonged period of time might do Strange Things to your eyes. I played with the blur/sharpen a bit...too...long. Eh heh. ^_^; Well, I know it was doing some funny stuff to my eyes.

So! Everyone! Should read KKJ! Because! It is! The best! Unless you're one of those wacko ultra-fundamentalist Christians who believe Harry Potter is the brainchild of Satan. If so, KKJ is probably not for you. >_> Seeing as how in this particular work of fiction, the story of Adam and Eve is Quite Different, Kami-sama (God) is not omnipotent, Kami-sama gave 1/3 of his power to the main chickie (Maron), a major character is a Datenshi (Banished Angel), and It's All God's Fault that Maou-sama (the Devil) is a Very Depressed Being who carries all the negative emotions of humanity since The Beginning on his shoulders, and that's why he wants all humans to go kapow. Um. Yeah. If this manga ever made it to the U.S., those fundamentalist Christians would probably all go berserk.

Of course. This doesn't have anyone or anything blowing up. So people who watch anime entirely for the sake of that probably wouldn't like this. *cough*looks at Jonathan*cough*

Oh well. I like it.

*looks at the time* Hm. It's Keiko's b-day. She's (finally) 16! Which means that once she finishes driver's ed, she can get her license. Scaaaary. You won't catch me dead in a car with her behind the wheel. And unless Fabian's gotten his license since the last time I talked to him, she'll be able to legally drive alone before him. Food for thought, ne, Fabie?

There was more I wanted to say. But I forgot it all in a fit of hyperness. 'Tis late. Bed. Now.

Now Playing: Ring to Eternity - Hattan Amika

Oooh...the Miyu & Larva winamp skin is up as this song plays. How ever so fitting. *gushes*

Hm. According to Google, today is Le Jour de la Bastille, or, the Day of the Bastille. Liberté! Égalité! Fraternité! Hey, if I have to be reminded of A Tale of Two Cities, so does everyone else. Though I kind of liked the book. Unlike certain other Dickens books. If Great Expectations was a man, I'd castrate him. Slowly. And it would be the better for it.

Now Playing: Down So Long - Jewel

Mrh. HISS. Photoshop would not download. Which means using Paint, which degrades the quality of any picture muchly. I *will* finish this layout someday. And then there is a blackout, thereby deleting this very long entry, which was one sentence from being finished. >_<

AIM has also been a real bitch lately. AOL keeps kicking me off the damn server. *chainsaws AOL*

Nont already left. And his friend Joseph happened to be a mess himself, so that turned out ok. >_> Maybe it's just me, but I think an Indian guy going by the name of Joseph to be very amusing. >_>

I had a very Odd Dream from which I have recently awoken. Odd enough that even in my dream, I was thinking that Things Were Not Right. That in itself says something, considering that I usually think Everything Is Fine and Dandy as my parents suddenly become Democratic politicians. Among other things, the dream included:

--Jonathan Duong cooing and gushing over "How cuuuuute~!" a picture was, and generally acting very fruity.
--Myself thinking that some guy could not possibly be Ryan Midgett, because he was wearing a loud neon green muscle shirt, had a voice like Mike Tyson, and was screaming across the gym for his darling James Nicholson to come to him. But there was an uncanny resemblance. And knowing me, it probably was him. ;;>_>
--Politicians in my house.
--Hillary Clinton being elected President of the United States. *shudders*

Yes, that was most certainly a Very Odd Dream. And no, I don't usually dream about every guy I know being gay. Though it certainly would be amusing.

Keiko's coming back from Japan tomorrow. Or rather, today. And I will most certainly be seeing her at the very latest, Tuesday, when we're going to violin lessons together. And Vinita will go *kira kira* over either

--$60 worth of Tare Panda and other misc. kawaii things, or
--$20-30 worth of Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne manga and $30-40 worth of Tare Panda and other misc. kawaii things

And there will be much hyperness.

Now Playing: Estpolis (Lufia) III Trailer - Yasunori Shiono

Grr. Nont called at 9:45 a.m. Saying he was leaving at that moment. And oh, and by the way, I'm bringing a friend who will most likely be staying the night, ok? Oh yes, that's perfectly fine. Grr. 5 hours to clean the fecking house. When I had 3 1/2 hours of sleep thanks to waking up for no apparent reason at 7. I had planned on going back to sleep, but oh no. XO Of course, my parents aren't helping clean up at all. I fell asleep at noon and slept till 2. And the house is still a mess. They'll be arriving soon. Mph. I give up. >_<

Now Playing: My Will - Dream [Inuyasha Ending]

Mrh. I promised myself I wouldn't start adding entries till I customized this to my liking. So much for that. >_> Ah well--at least the table to the left is a bit *cough* customized. I suppose making this from scratch was a bit too much of an endeavor for one night, considering that I haven't htmled at all for the past...3 years. @_@ Relearning everything was interesting. Mmm...this looks entirely too boring without any images whatsoever. Will do tomorrow. Trial Photoshop's still downloading. For now, sleep. =_=
