Kathy - 01:41 a.m. Wah, sounds like fun. Did you bring back my gift for me? I'm expecting Kangta to be at my doorstep soon! We should get together...how about Sunday? :D I lose my car priviledges then, so yea. I better make the most of it. Aida also moved and quit her job at Mann. I think we're gonna go visit her new house on Monday? She's supposed to call. Anyway, I'm off to Universal Studios tomorrow. (Buy 1 get 1 free!) Later.
Jane - 01:00 p.m. Hey, everyone! I came back early. Joan's school starts in a few days and was planning to come back a week earlier than my parents and I came with her. Oooh, haven't been on a computer in three weeks. Lots of downloading to catch up on. I'm way out of wack, it's 5 in the morning for me and I'm trying not to sleep so I won't get too jet lagged. Geez, I never expected Korea to be like that. You think California's got crazy drivers? Compared to the mean Korean streets, driving here is like a walk in the park. Busses and taxis pop out of no where, cars squeeze in between the tiniest spaces, U-turns at red lights, and 6 way intersections. After a certain hour at night, cars don't stop at red lights and there are no street names, no Thousand Oaks Blvd. or anything like that just a signs everywhere. Sooo many cars and sooo many people walking around. Plus S. Korea's so tiny (it only takes 4 hours to drive from the top to the bottom, lot smaller than California) it felt like it was bursting at the seams. Despite the crazy Asians behind the wheel, Korea was a lot of fun. The first week was just visiting touristy places. So. Many. Buddhist. Temples. On my first week, we went to 12. TWELVE. Plus, Buddhists believe that to get to the temple you have work a little bit so they build them waaay inside mountains. My legs were so sore. Hiking everyday was not fun for someone who eats all the time. And lots of bug bites. At one time, I had 14 bug bites. Very itchy. Then after the hiking came the bowing and climbing millions of stairs. But don't think I lost weight, I gained it all back. There are so many eating places there. Restaurants everywhere you turn. It's cheap too. I'm going to miss that. ^_^ I bought lots of stuff. There were lots of shopping centers but I couldn't go to them because we were on tourist trips, so I bought stuff everytime I had a chance.. The very last night we had there, we went to an all night market. It opens at 11 at night and goes until the next morning. Lots of clothes and accessories. It felt weird seeing so many Asians in one place. And they're all short and skinny, I felt like a massive hippo next to them. Never realized how obese Americans are. Joan and I was walking down the street and my family was walking behind us. My mom said that we were the fattest ones there. Yay for me and Joan. All the realtives (aunts of uncles and cousins of parents, etc.) we met there were shocked with how well Joan and I ate. Some were worried that we wouldn't be able to eat some of the stuff (Korean's eat some weird thingies, have yet to try dog. . . Just joking, despite all that I eat, I don't think I can ever eat pooch) but my parents were all "No, no, no. You never have to worry about our children not eating." I feel so proud. -_-;; All righty, need clean and unpack. Call me so we can all meet before our respective schools start. No cell though, can't use that for another week cuz my parents cut that off for month when we left. See ya.
Kathy - 08:12 p.m. The plan:
Dinner - 6PM Sounds good? Call my house # with suggestions on food or movie.
Crystal - 08:32 a.m. I still have to work on Friday so I can't go anywhere til 5:30. Kathy...when are you going to your sisters' place? Do you think its ok if I send my moorpark transcript after school starts. I have to get my transcript fixed >.< I got my housing assignment. I forget which building its in but I got a double shared bath so I don't know my roommate but michelle and nika are my suite mates. So I don't have to live with them (well besides sharing a bathroom) but they're right next door. I think I'm commuting next year. Housing is too expensive.
Kathy - 02:21 p.m. Let's go out on Friday! I was talking to Michelle, and we thought of just having a big outing since we don't see each other that much. Since I can't drive, Michelle was gonna pick me up...so we have to go anytime after 12:30. Where do you guys wanna go? Wanna watch a movie and then have lunch or something? Tell me if you guys can go and what you wanna do. Read the koob, people! Reply or I'll be forced to actually use the telephone! Ok, later.
Jean - 12:14 p.m. The cruise was cool. :) I'm trying to get my schedule straightened out, but I haven't sent the Moorpark transcript yet. Eeks! I need to stop by there today. I added the class, but I'm not sure why it let me add it. I'll probably be kicked out soon unless I send the friggin' transcript over. I just don't know to which address I should send it! Argh. Anyway, I'm confused and I don't want to go to college. >:T
Edited to add that I ordered the transcript. :D Whoo! Jean's capable of doing...something. :T Kathy - 08:14 p.m. Came back from west LA Saturday night...or Sunday morning? I had a *lot* of fun at Magic Mountain. I hung out with my IRC buddies, and they're sooo funny. I went on the scary rides too (feel proud). We should go do something since we're almost all back now. I'm leaving for Westwood again in September and I go to Irvine straight from there, so I won't be able to chill with ya'all after that. Also, I think parents took away my insurance, so don't know what I'm gonna do. I'll walk? HAHAHA. Anyway, yea. Glad everyone had fun. ^_^
Crystal - 02:35 p.m. Hey ^_^ I just got back today^_^ The blackout didn't really affect our vacation but we were trying to go to morimotos, the iron chef restaurant in Philidelphia but they didn't have any power for a few blocks around the restaurant so it was closed >.< I got like 7 mosquito bites on one leg. The rest of my family didn't get any no fair! It was very tiring. We had to travel everyday for the two weeks we were there.
Kathy - 02:00 a.m. Since no one seems to be posting, I'll just talk. Jean, have a safe cruise to Mexico! :D Hey Crystal/Jennifer? How was the black out? :X I hope you weren't on the metro because that'd be really scary. x.x Anyway, I'm gonna be living with Stef and Beckie this week. And Saturday, we'll be going to Magic Mountain. (Very scary) For the past 2 weeks, I've been bumming around. But it's actually been pretty fun because I don't have this weight hangin' over me about reading logs or some annoying crap like that! ^_^ Anyway, I hope everyone is having fun. Later.
Kathy - 01:40 a.m. I don't have anything to say, but OMG! Look at this:
My favorite Detective Conan dressed up as Harry Potter! *_*
Kathy - 08:48 p.m. GEEZUS! I was talking to Concepcion online (everyone remember her?) and she got ENGAGED! Dude, she's still 17! She met this Viet guy at Las Vegas and she got engaged in May. Craaazy! I didn't think people would be getting engaged already! (I haven't even had one boyfriend yet, haha) Her BF is 18 and joining the army, and Concepcion is joining the army also. She leaves in October to South Carolina. @.@ Crazy stuff! Sarah, she wants to meet up with us, so let's get together one day during our very uneventful summer. ^_^ But still...all I can think is "CRAZY!". x.x Everyone, have fun on your trips! Jane, go stalk Hye Sung and bring Kangta back for me. I'll go slap him ^.~
Jane - 06:22 p.m. Hey, all. Sorry I couldn't go to the movie with you, Kathy/Jean. I really wanted to watch Seabiscuit too (doesn't hurt that Tobey Maguire's in it). By the time I get back, it's probably gonna be out of theatres. I'm trying to go to a late showing tonight. There was lots stuff to do before we left. Meeting all the family that's here before we leave, buying all this stuff for the family that's in Korea, getting passports, boooo. So my dad's officially work free. These two guys bought our store. I bet he feels great, not having to stand 24/7, being nice to customers that have attitude problems, not having to restock all the time. He's having fun doing stuff he hasn't been able to do in sixteen years. Lemme tell ya, I've been eating a lot more with my dad around. Very dangerous when all four Shims get together. We can eat. ^_^ Yesterday, we had a cousin get together thing and watched a movie, ate dinner, blah blah. But by the time we got there, there was nothing showing at that time except Gigli and Freaky Friday. I really didn't want to watch Gigli so we saw Freaky Friday. Kids everywhere. Friggin annoying kids too. I wanted to yell "Shut up!" to everyone in the theatre. I've never felt so old before. Plus, I was the youngest cousin there I wonder how everyone else felt. Apparently, I'm not coming back until a few days before I have to move in. I have to buy everything I need for my room and pack all my clothes and crap in like a week. I don't know if I'll have a lot of time to see you guys before I move in. =( I guess that's it for me.
Kathy - 04:40 p.m. Dude, let's meet up before ya'all leave. :P What's everyone doing this Saturday? Me? I'm doing the same thing I've been doing since school finished...Nothing. :P So let's go out and bum around somewhere else.
Jennifer - 02:09 p.m. Hey Guys :)! Well, I hope all of you guys have safe and wonderful trips :)! Enjoy your summer before its all over, hehehe!!! Lets all get together before school starts again, when everyone is back!!!!! Im gonna have my camera ready so i can take pictures of all your beautiful faces and put them in my dorm room, hehehe, so be ready and dont be shy like Kathy says. Hehehehe, maybe Ill see Crystal at the airport since we are leaving the same day, that would be funny!!!! Well, have lots and lots of fun, xoxo, smiles :)!!!!! Jean - 07:29 p.m. Whoo! Summer school is finally over! I am so happy. Hehe.
I just wanted to make a quick entry before leaving. I saw Seabiscuit with Kathy today. I liked the movie, but I think she was bored. :T Have a safe trip, Crystal, Jane, and Jennifer. I hope you guys have fun wherever you're going. :) Enjoy your summer, Kathy and Sarah. Kathy - 05:08 p.m. One word: SUMMER! *_* Yay, I can finally bum around and rest. (Not like I haven't been doing that already, but at least I won't feel guilty for it!) Sarah, let's go do stuff, muhahaha! Oh yea, free coupons: B&N Coffee amd Baja Fresh. Good stuff. Jean is leaving on Wednesday night, so let's all go do something tomorrow. :D I really need to go out. Jean wants to watch Sea Biscuit, that movie with Toby McGuire and horses. :P
Crystal - 01:59 p.m. Hey do you guys want to go somewhere this week? Maybe on Friday? or earlier? When is everyone leaving?
Sarah - 01:20 p.m. Hey...congrats to all those who finished summer school today or tomorrow...summer finally begins eh? i was in a coma the week i finished... now i can't fall asleep. well still homeless... it's actually really hard to find off campus housing. but the bathroom ratio is much better. hmmm kathy- i'm not going anywhere in August so i guess it's you and me... oh you can help me make a blog thing again...i promise i won't let it die this year. I know this is late but can i have your phone number? hmmm i guess that's it.
Kathy - 10:05 p.m. Since no one else is writing in the koob, I guess I will. Is everyone going on trips this month? Jean is off for Taiwan and her cruise. Crystal will be over at Jersy. Jennifer's leaving to NY during that time also. Jane's going to Korea. How about you Sarah? If you're not, you might be seeing a lot of me! Muhahaha. Unfortunately, I am not going on a trip. -_- So I'm going to be bored the entire month because ya'all are gone! >:*( boo @ ya'all! I wanted to live with Stef and Beckie this month because they're fun too...but parents said no. boo. -_- boring month of august.
