Jane - 11:17 p.m. Guess what guys? I'm moving! I'm moving out of Agoura Hills. No more 5515 Alfredo Ct. for me. My family's moving to Long Beach, and I kinda have to follow them. Out of the blue, my mom's like we're gonna get a new house (or we're getting a new car too). My dad's planning on opening a restaurant and property's REALLY expensive in our area, so we're moving. ^_^
Crystal - 08:45 p.m. hmm I'm thinking of joining an azn sorority next year...would that be scary? lol. someone said id be perfect cause im ditsy, drool over guys, and have no opinions....uhhh which is true buts its still mean! hidoi!!! i slept all day today cause i had work at 6:30 sooo early and I just sat in front of my computer all day >.< didn't do any work at all. Oh well tomorrow is another day. pizookie....mmmm sounds yummy. lol. Im thinking of getting a car too and i found an apartment for next year but it might be a lil too far away. I dunno I'll probably keep looking. I went to this sushi place in sawtelle today and i order a eel roll for like 4.20. I was like "wow this is cheap!" it turns out the roll is only two pieces of sushi >.< grrrr
Jean - 07:02 p.m. Okay, so I lied. We didn't end up going whale watching because they said the seas were too rough, so we went on a tour of the harbor instead. We still saw some sea lions and some seagulls and a bunch of navy boats and stuff. Fuuuun. I felt kind of out of place a little because all the people I was with were really talkative and outgoing and everything, and I'm...not. So I felt kind of bad. We had lunch at a nice seafood place and then we had dinner at BJ's (pizookie!). Mmmmmmmm. She bought me a ton of stuff, too. I had a cool time. V. nice of her to drive down from OC. :D Jean - 11:04 p.m. JANE!! WHERE ARE YOU? I WANT EPISODE TWO! NOW!!!!!! ::pouts::
Ohh...I'm going whale watching tomorrow. :D Jane - 11:53 p.m. Ooooh, Sarah you got housing on campus? And at ERC too? Lucky butt. It's all new and pretty. Tell me all about it. Which hall? Or did you get an apartment? Did you get Earth Hall? I like the name. Last midterm tomorrow! ^_^ It's my accounting one, after that, I'm gonna take a looooooooooooong nap. I've slept for 3 hours a night for 2 nights in a row and it looks like I'm gonna do that again today. Stupid stupid money crap that I don't give a crap about. Ah, crap it all. EDIT: On a completely different note: Sarah, on Monday they're serving Taco Salad at CV again. Remember that stuff we ate before? All that cheese, and meat, and chips . . . . Dude, I'm drooling on my keyboard. It's 4:00 in the morning and I'm craving cheese. That's not a good sign. :Q Edit again for me too:
Jean - 11:55 p.m. So you're living in ERC, Sarah? Cool. Although a triple'll be interesting. :T Heh, Crystal, you sound like you have a lot of work, too. Okay, the only real reason I'm posting is to post these links:
Maybe I'm just a sucker for stories like that. They're linked to the same story, just from two different POV's.
Edit to add the conclusion to the story above: Link 3 and Link 4
Edited again to add: I showed the story to one of my friends who tends to be pretty skeptical of online stuff (I am too, but for some reason I didn't immediately go "this is fake" when I read it. I guess I'm not as cynical when I'm tired?) Anyway, she immediately professed disbelief, as we'd come across a few instances of this on our own board. I just wasted over two hours today searching google and various news sources, trying to find something to back it up. I came up with zip. On the one hand, the longer I think about it, the less I believe it. On the other hand, there are certain circumstantial things that make me think perhaps it is true.
You know what I want to conclude, though? No matter the veracity of the story, I am going to take it on its face value and believe that good things do happen, and good people do exist. If I am ever in the position to do something like that, I've decided I'll do it, without question. You only get to live once. Might as well make the most of it. Sarah - 06:19 p.m. arugh math 10c yuck. i'm takin' a break. ahhh kathy you were watching 'chaos theory' sniff sniff good Carby scenes. abby is a fourth year med student(nurse on weekends) along with the bend it like beckham girl and keifer sutherland's brother. muhaha to study for my beatles midterm i have beatles songs constantly playing. weaver got romano's job when he lost his arm and romano was chief of ER till the helicpter finished him off. (you think it'd be happy just taking off his arm ya?) don't want to study- housing is driving me CRAZY. i got soooooo lost at ERC- it's HUGE but unfortunately looks like i'm tripling (sp?)don't understand how i went from a single to triple. cha ok bye then
Crystal - 04:58 p.m. Sure kathy ^_^ love to buy the harry potter game off ya lol Been doing alot of homework this week during the weekend and monday. Had a lab due and a chem quiz which was actually a lot easier than I thought. Now I have nothing to do....although i have another chem quiz and lab due next week >.< neverending work! We did a blue dye lab this week i was the only one that got it all over me...my hands and sleeves were all blue by the end of class hehe. yesterday I visited my kendo dojo. They made me put on armor again and get beat up lol and none of them recognized me well they did but they had to stare really hard first. One of my teachers was like you don't look the same and I was like yes I do....he was like you're wearing cosmetics LOL in a really strong japanese accent too. LOL he's so funny. Anyway I don't think I'm going back to "visit" for a while...too many bruises ^___^ saaa jean you sound like you got tons of work! Gambatte ne! ii desu ne! atama ga ii desu yo! lol need to practice my japanese :P darn got work in an hour i hate work :( but its a USC v UCLA basketball game today so they're making everyone work ::sigh::
Jean - 11:41 p.m. So I had my o-chem midterm today...::sigh::. Seven pages. The kid I know in that class IM-ed me when we got back and said he didn't finish two of the pages. I did the pages out of order, so now I'm just hoping really really hard that I didn't skip any accidentally or read the problems too fast and not do what they were asking. ::crosses fingers:: Got my paper done and turned in, too...printed out around 1:15 and handed in at 2. Heh. Turned in my CS assignment tonight, although I need to check it for some more bugs tomorrow. Gotta do physics Wednesday and Thursday and do well on my quiz on Friday and get some of CS assignment #3 done on Friday so I can take Saturday off. Hee!
Where are your parents going, Kathy? If they don't want to take you, they can take me... Hmm. They probably don't want to do that either, do they? Catch up this weekend on all your classes. It's not good to be behind. Okay, Kathy, I gotta set you straight on a few things. a) Romano is the name of the doctor who lost his arm...and ended up smooshed by a helicopter. Haha. b) Kerry is the Chief of the ER (at least she used to be...set me straight on that one, Sarah). c) Abby is a med student turned nurse turned med student. I believe right now she's a med student (again!). Now you have all their names and stuff. Heh. Do you want their whole names? Robert Romano, Kerry Weaver, Abby Lockhart. :P
I was eating lunch today with Jeremy and one of his suitemates, and Jeremy was comparing 24 to The X-Files, claiming 24 was way better than TXF. His suitemate seriously jumped at him for it, shouting "Nothing's better than The X-Files", etc. etc. It was really funny. Okay, *I* found it really funny. It's interesting how many X-Files fans I come across here. I found out the other day one of the kids in my writing class is a fanatic, too. Not bad for a show that's been off the air for over a year. I appear to be in good company. *g*
Kathy - 09:42 p.m. Yay, everyone is koobing. :P Everything is good here, I think. I feel a lil behind in my classes because math TA sucks and too many Physics hw problems. Writing is such a pain with all these stupid lil assignments and Econ is boring. And I'm not going home for a month! Parents are going on a cruise again...without me again... -_-;; So I can't go back until the weekend after, but it's Valentine's Day, and I wanna stay. OOOH! Ya'all remember Concepcion? She's getting married October 26 of next year. WAH! She'll only be 20! Youngin'. Anyway, I'm gonna be a lil random in this entry because my brain has stopped working. I have a Writing prelim due tomorrow, but I'm lazy and don't feel like working on it. I had these coupons for 75 cents off Jamba Juice, so we got two. Yummie! :O~~~ I have to start thinking about housing next year, grrr. I'm too lazy to look for an apartment, but I don't wanna have to walk 80 miles to get to school. Hopefully, we can get one close so I can walk there pretty quickly. Not really sure who I'm rooming with, but I think I have at least 2 girls that I know that I will probably room with. Phew. I'd feel loner-ish if I had no one. x.x I have a PS2 in my room, so I'm really tempted to buy the PS2 game for Harry Potter 2. But then I'd end up playing it 24/7, and that'd be baaad...right? It's only $20 bucks for a new one though...woOo~ After I finish playing it, anyone wanna buy it off for like $15 or something? Crystal? O:D It'd be a waste of money to own it when I don't even own a PS2. :P I watched that rerun of ER. What's his face lost his arm?!? That sucks. -_- Cary is the head whatever? Her hair looks weird when it's not short and bright red. Abbey is a nurse? I thought she was a doctor? The residents or whatever are funny, haha. Ya...that's all I remember now. Don't you just love this huge paragraph? Enjoy reading. :P
Jean - 10:35 a.m. I hope you sorted out your writing class, Jane. I was up until almost 2 AM last night working on my paper! Grr...I hate writing. I'd written about 6 pages as of Saturday, and I had my friend read it. After getting her comments, I completely changed it around last night. She'll probably read it again tonight and I'll edit it some more. I was thinking about getting up early this morning to practice piano, but when my alarm went off at seven, I decided practicing piano wasn't that important to me. Heh.
Geez, Jane, you have all your midterms this week? That sucks. I just have my o-chem one and I'm having problems motivating myself to study. Anybody else having that issue?
Haha, the Harry Potter link was really funny. I tried saying a couple of them out loud, and I guess I can see how they got those subtitles, but *still*...geez. Get better translators or something.
Jane or Sarah, wanna go home the weekend of Feb 7? I want company on the train. :P Errr...I gotta figure out how to get to the train station in the first place. Doh. I found this really funny link (well, it'll only be funny to me) of this prof at some school who wrote some comp sci songs. He has recordings of some of them too. I was laughing so hard...it didn't really help me debug my program last night, though. ::sob::
Off to pretend to study some more...
Jane - 11:29 p.m. Wow, I realized that I've got a CRAP load of work to do. And I messed up royally with my writing class. I turned in a rough draft on Wednesday and was supposed to pick it up from my prof's box on Friday so I can redo it over the weekend. Right now, it is Saturday night, going on Sunday and I still don't have my paper. ::smack:: Doh!! ::sigh:: Midterms S.U.C.K. I've got my macro econ midterm on Tuesday, math midterm on Wednesday, and my accounting midterm on Thursday. Noooooooooooooooooooooooo...... This page is funny. It's the bootleg version on Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Whoever made it did a really bad job on the subtitles. I fell off my chair laughing after I read Lucius Malfoy calling Ron "Stupid face." My roommate didn't notice because she had headphones on. Finally, she noticed me writhing on the floor cuz my stomach hurt so much that she turned around and asked "What's so funny?" Dude, I'm still laughing. Gotta stop. Supposed to be studying . . .
.
Crystal - 10:02 p.m. LOL jean your so funny ^___^ its not that hard to get a japanese minor...its like jap 1-6 and 6 more classes so i guess its a lil longer than yours but technically the jap 1-6 isn't part of the minor they're just prereqs. everyones going on a diet >.< just exercise you should get enough over there at ucsd all that walking >.< i HATE walking uhhh this week i had a lot of work....anime club thursday and taiko on friday. We went to ktown to eat korean food afterwards. I'm at home now cause we have a chinese new year party on sunday >.< I missed our annual hotpot thingy :(. yeah so i guess thats it for this week ^____^
Jean - 08:42 p.m. *thud* Jane posted. Excuse me while I go recover from the shock.
Heh. I should really start on a diet. I've eaten *sooooooo* much BAD stuff today. Had an omelette and hash browns today for lunch, then had a chicken sandwich and fries for dinner. Had a BIG cookie in between. :O Gotta stop eating. Gotta stop eating.
O-chem midterm on Tuesday. I'm actually pretty nervous...probably because I haven't really started studying yet. We had a review this morning from 9 to like 11:30 because people kept asking questions and paranoid-me didn't want to leave (go figure!). This kid wanted to copy my notes so we went to the library after the review session, and we were walking back together (he lives in Warren, too). We passed Price Center (about halfway back), and there had been a few minutes of silence. He goes, "You don't talk much, do you?" Me: "I talk." *pause* Me: "Sometimes." *another pause* Me: "I was talking. I replied to your comments and all." Him: "I talked at least twice as much as you." Me: "You did not." *pause* Me: "You want me to talk?" Him: "Yeah." Me: "About what?" Him: "Anything." Me: "Okay, umm...it's not very sunny today." :T Geez! I talk!
Hee, Susan's coming next Saturday. *G* It should be cool. If you don't hear from me after next weekend then maybe I got kidnapped. :P
I somehow managed to BS 6 pages on the Pledge of Allegiance but I am honestly scared of my grade on this paper. Our physics teacher is such an idiot. He derived the formula for potential energy on the board (between two point charges), and we asked about the sign, and he said it was right but couldn't really give an explanation. "You'll see in a few minutes." He put a problem up on the board, and we have those transmitter things, so 50% of the class answered the question *wrong* because we were going off the equation he put on the board. He paused a bit, then said something like, "Oh, I guess I accounted for the negative twice. You're supposed to take either ______ or ______ out," but then he didn't change it on the board. Grrrr. I walked out of that class soooooo confused.
Jane - 05:04 p.m. Whoa, I completely forgot about the koob for some reason. :I I came home one day and there's IMs from Kathy and Jean to update. I like to leave my computer on and leave and sometimes I forget that my AIM is on, which is turning out to be a bad habit. Sorry, guys! But Sarah did a bang up job being me. That was EXACTLY what I was gonna say. How'd you know that? Very eerie. I've gotta try these spicy chicken strips that you guys keep talking about. Where is it? Plaza? Sierra? OVT? I've gotta try El Mercado, all my roommates are saying that it's really good. I like that thing that you posted Jean. It was hilarious. I've been pretty busy here. Classes, work, etc. I've been on a diet to lose 20 lbs before 7/11/04 cuz that's when my cousin's getting married. It's so sad now that I can't eat whatever I want. Whenever we go out, everyone goes and gets ice cream and one of my roommates (whose on the diet with me) and I just drool into their cups. Mmmmmmm . . . ice cream topped with Jane spit.
Jean - 11:56 p.m. Happy Chinese New Year, everybody! Year of the Monkey. The picture on Google was so freaking ugly. I loaded it last night and went, "What the heck is this for?!?" I'm *almost* tempted to go to Revelle for spicy chicken strips, but on second thought...naw. It's too freaking far. I would only go if I had any classes out there, which I don't. Ick. I have to go there on Saturday, though. Do you guys know what time in the afternoon on weekends they start serving chicken strips? Is it 2:30, like CV? :(
Geez, Crystal, do you spend all your time hanging out with guys now? They're cooking for you and all? Is it that hard to get a Japanese minor? For a music minor, I only have to take seven classes (five upper-division and two lower-division) -- I will have four upper-division classes after this quarter is done. I hate getting back late 'cuz it makes me feel like I have less time to "work" (i.e. fool around online).
My CS prof pushed back the deadline for the CS assignment to Wednesday. That means I have a paper due Tuesday (which I have not written, btw), an o-chem midterm Tuesday, a CS assignment due Wednesday, and a physics quiz Friday. Next week's gonna suck. I am thinking of writing my paper on the phrase "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance. I'm going to say that it should be removed. Next weekend, though, one of my online friends is coming down to SD...maybe. We talked about it a few weeks ago, and I guess I'll find out closer to the date. I hope she comes down. It'd be cool, especially after everything I have due that week.
Okay, I gotta start going to bed earlier. G'night.
ETA a list I came across today (which I'm sure some of you have seen before:
GM vs. Microsoft
MICROSOFT SHOULD MAKE CARS, GM SHOULD MAKE SOFTWARE.
At a recent computer expo, Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated:
Jane/Sarah - 10:06 p.m. well as you can tell by the font color I'm not really Jane. Jean had a smart idea that i go back to edit to find my- I mean Her code but since she hasn't updated for the past year- literally so I couldn't find it. But since Jane is too lazy or busy to update I might as well do it since I have LOTS of time. (I've made my peace with that). Jane's POV- So hmmm I'm still having an excellent time at UCSD but four classes is a little harder than three. Plus the catering job is SOO tiring- I want a lab job next time. My favorite spot is still the middle cushion in front of the TV but I do occasionally go to RIMAC if all my roomates drag me there. I'm still waiting for that pesto pizza- they haven't made it since fall quarter. GRRR Guess who I saw today at Revelle (spicy chicken strips!!) ?!? SARAH!!!! I hadn't seen her since the first week of winter quarter- crazy. Well since everyone else is talking about ER I guess I'll join too. I can't believe I missed the ER episode with Ewan as a mini mart robber!!! ARUGH!!! Sarah even called to tell me. (that girl needs to stop watching so much TV) That's about it. Hope the rest of you are having a great time too. So Jane if this entry really sucked and was totally inaccurate- TOO BAD. Come write your own entries!!! bye guys- really bored ER's a rerun tonite- I lead a sad sad sad life. ::sigh::
Crystal - 11:06 p.m. uhhh WOW!....and WOW i don't think i've been gone that long...only person i didn't see in here is JAAANNNNNEEEE where are you??? lol okie here goes extra long entry...I took my first fencing class it was really cool. The swords looked cool too. Too bad they didn't let me take one home hehe. On thursday, Photography class was cancelled. So I just went to anime club.. oh yea jenn i didn't know you joined anime club! yay!! and you sound like your having fun with david ^____^ After anime club I went over to the guys' apartment so greg could cook for me and vinnie. yummy korean food and i just got really bored watching them play mario cart all night...well til 12 then came home. Friday I went to taiko class. It ended at 9:45 so we went out for dinner...uhh burritos and boba...the whole group. It was really fun and my taiko teachers really cute...a lil too friendly to everyone and i MEAN EVERYONE not just the girls lol.. saturday i spent at work and doing homework. Sunday we went for a boba run it was...interesting. We went to this boba place where there's chairs inside and outside. We were sitting inside...and there was this group of guy sittingoutside playing cards. One of them was really really bad. He kept looking at me. finally after everyone laughing at them i went to knock on the window and waved at them to come in. LOL i think i scared them...agressive lil asian girl bah! they were nerds anyway. So then we went to one of the girl's apartments to play with her kitty til 2am. When she dropped me off at sprowl there were these two guys sitting in the dark....creepy so i walked around and they said "hey i know you saw me....you just went around so you wouldn't have to come this way" lol and they were mumbling stuff so i just smiled at them and they chuckled and said good night really friendlyaly...i know thats not a word. uhhh what else right now im studying like crazy cause of all my homework and essays. Im only taking four classes but its a lot of work. Oh yea you have no idea how lazy i have gotten I spent the whole day changing my 4 year plan around. As of now...Im dropping my japanese minor...im still taking japanese 1-6 though. From now on im only going to have 3 classes a quarter not even if i had four classes a quarter i would finish in 3 years but im not going to kill myself with 4 upper division classes a quarter. Im contemplating enrolling in Santa Monica college and getting an associates degree in graphic design while im working on my microbio major. I dont want to miss out on anything. soo yea this plan will probably change by tomorrow. Right now I'm in my I can NOT do anymore chem phase...I'll die...>.< lol oh yea....jean sorry not doing premed anymore you can see how i've totally veered off the course of even liking science. I won't be able to get through med school being as lazy as I am. I'll probably go into public health or who knows maybe even graphic design for grad school. I have no idea yet i have to wait to find out how microbio is third and fourth year.
OMG my schedule's getting messed up I had it all planned perfectly this quarter but then my house government meeting changed to even week wed and i have my class moving screenings that night too and this wed...tomorrow i have work. THEY TOTALLY RUN INTO EACH OTHER! I had to get it fixed...phew but its still problem.
lets see what else...we'll be going to the beach instead of dinner after taiko this friday....thats for next week though hmmm i think thats it!
Jean - 11:41 p.m. The three-day weekend is over!!! ::sob:: I was nowhere near as productive as I should have been. I woke up early to go to that o-chem review session Saturday morning, and there were only like 15 of us there. Out of a 440-something class. The prof walked in and was like, "Where's everybody else?" Heh.
My comp sci program isn't really working correctly. It's not deallocating the memory the way it's supposed to. Grrrrrr. I can't believe I have my first midterm next week (o-chem). It seems so close. I need to finish my bioinformatics application. I need a topic for my writing paper. I just sent off a loooooooooooong e-mail to one of my friends begging for help. I wonder if she'll just ignore me. :T
Crystal, how come you're not pre-med anymore? Come join me in my misery. :P I've spent this whole weekend lurking pre-med/med forums and getting discouraged. I actually ended up blocking several sites through IE because I was wasting too much time at them. I'd sit down to lurk a message board and look up two hours later. It was getting a little freaky. I keep going to those sites out of habit and get that annoying little box saying, "This site has been blocked..." We'll see what I decide to waste my time on now. I'm sure I can come up with something else...easily.
Hee, Sarah, you posted. I've been sitting here composing a message for the longest time just so I could have yours in between mine...and mine. It looks really lame when you reply to yourself. Geh. I can't access a lot of channels on mIRC from here, else I would download it from there. Eh. I just checked suprnova. They don't have it anyway. I guess I will have to wait for reruns. How sad...I am more tempted now to buy ER DVD's than I am X-Files. ::gasp::
I daresay you need to sleep, Sarah. You added a "k" in front of "now" -- "ok that's all for know". Hehe. I've had a habit of working with the radio on now, but it still distracts me sometimes. I work better in pure silence. It has hit midnight, though, so I must go to bed. 9:30 class tomorrow. Sarah - 11:39 p.m. well jean kept insisting(euphamism for bugging) that i reply so i can look lame too- what a friend! i've spent the last hour trying to figure out your alphabet game. sigh can't figure them out- tis driving me crazy. i had an ok weekend got some money from the grandparents and parents for the new year. yupyup mmmm jean you should really watch Hindsight- but it may be the unlikeable luka(9th season luka). spoilers(10th season)--Gillian comes back and Sam gets jealous ::yawn:: Chulack has made the show soo boring i waaaaant ORMAN sigh. i think you may be able to DL The Lost from suprnova.org go to TV shows- others hopefully they still have it. i know mIRC definately will. muhahaha we've turned this into our own personal ER board- my plan from the start. i realized how dependant i am on my music to do my homework- i can't work in pure silence. but since i didn't bring home any of my CD's i ended up listening to a WHAM! tape my grandma found in her drawer. and no my grandma does not listen to WHAM! it was my cousin's. that makes more sense huh. mmmmmm ok that's all for now i reallllly have to sleep!! the power of edit.
Jean - 09:03 p.m. Heh, Kathy, good job with the four posts...all in a row...of the same stuff. You're actually going to class this quarter? *thud* You gotta quit talking food. Now I'm craving Cinnabon, and I don't know of any around here either. You're taking four classes, and I'm taking four classes, but your schedule sounds a lot more busy than mine. I only have an hour of class on Monday and Friday, and only two on Wednesday. I have six and a half hours of class on Tuesday and five and a half on Thursday. Are Roger's classes any more interesting than yours, Kathy? What's his major again? I forget. I hope you feel better soon.
Oh! And don't diss Luka. That's a big no-no. He's cool. I like his accent a lot, too. I didn't notice his nose before but now that you've pointed it out, that's probably *all* I'm going to notice. My physics TA last quarter reminded me of Luka (sans accent). On weird facial things...my CS teacher lectures to the ceiling. I swear. If he's not looking at the slide or the projector, his eyes like roll up into the back of his head and all you see are the whites. It gets kind of annoying after a while, even though it's funny when he doesn't see somebody raise their hand because he's not looking at the class. And he always goes "I'm not done" while waving his hand in the air before he takes the slide off the projector. Annoying. But not as much as our next assignment. ;)
You sound like you've been a lot more busy than me, too, Jennifer. It seems like you're having fun at school, which is great. I don't know what my living arrangements for next year are going to be yet. Maybe some of my suitemates will let me tag along when we sign up. What is it with people doing more things than me? I guess I should be used to it by now...that's what I get for hibernating in my room. The funny thing is that I'm scared of overloading myself this quarter, but compared to you guys, it seems like I'm doing nothing.
Remember my grand plan to spend tonight doing o-chem in preparation for the review session tomorrow? Yeah...well...oops. I finished the problems in Chapter 1 but I just cannot seem to focus on Chapter 2 right now. ::sigh:: So I'm posting here instead (obviously). What a nice way to waste time. Sarah, do you know where I can download "The Lost"? I want to see it again. Heh.
ETA another ER quote I just came across: "I once bet Eriq La Salle he couldn't eat three pounds of unprocessed cheese in half an hour," recalls Wyle. "He did it, and I had to pay him $2,000."
Part of me wishes I had $2,000 to use in a bet...and not really care if I lost. Geez.
Edited again to add this link: Annie's Alphabet Game . I can't get B, H, M, Q, R, V, Z, or the last one.
Jennifer - 06:05 p.m.
Hi ^_^, yay, people are starting to post again ^_^!!! Okie, so far my quarter has been going ok, econ is really hard, sigh. I think Financial Accounting was a lot easier, this stuff is way too theoretical for my simple-mind. Oh well, Im gonna try my best and hopefully I will do decently, and my friend James said he would help me as much as possible, so we shall see. I like my other classes a lot though, dance is a lot of fun. The teacher for dance is like this fifty year old guy that dances, sings, changes costumes for you, and prances around the stage in tights. At first, I was like how can this class be two hours long, but actually the two hours go by pretty fast and its a lot of fun. Classics 37 is a pretty interesting class too, the professor is obssessed with Greek culture and he decided to form an Honors Section so Im taking that also. Ummm . . . .Asian American Literature is a really good class also, all the books we have been reading are really interesting, and the TA, David, is really cool and cute (I think he is Japanese) so I really like my section. Having four classes is so much more than just having three, I spend so much less time in my room doing nothing productive now, so I guess thats a good thing in some ways. Hmmm . . . I also was recruited by this guy named John that lives downstairs to be in his environmental club CalPirg so tomorrow Im gonna be doing a beach cleanup, which should be interesting.
Anyway, hehehehe, Kathy, Im also staying at school for the long weekend cause I have to see a dance concert for dance class on Sunday, so that should be interesting. My friend Grace, who is also taking dance, is coming back early to see it with me, and we are going to have a sleepover movie night thingy on Saturday as well as Sunday with Emily. Oh yeah, I have also recently been watching this really good Japanese Drama called "Beautiful Life" on my friend Tuan's computer, it is soooo good and cute. The main guy kind of looks like that Korean actor Won Bin, super cute ^_^. I have also been asked by Masa to join his yo-yo club and Im still continuing with Anime Club as well as CalPirg, fun stuff.
Anyway, things have been going pretty decently with David lately. Hehehehehe, he got a haircut so he looks much cuter now. We studied together at the library, he is super studious, and I think he looks cute when he is thinking, lol. He wants to be an RA next year, I think he can make it cause he is really friendly and he can hold a conversation with anyone and anything, even his computer. He's a fun person, but Im sure we are just really good friends right now, which is fine with me, boyfriends are trouble. Anyway, we decided we are going to take the history series together so Im really looking forward to that, he said I could do all the reading and he would do all the writing, lol, he's a really good writer. I think we would work really well together, so that should be fun. I think the reason that we get along so well is that we are really opposite personality wise so it makes it fun. My roommate and her boyfriend are the exact same way, lol.
Anyway, next year, me and my friends have already decided we are going to live together. Its gonna be me, Emily, Grace, and Chiaki (really nice Japanese girl that does kendo also). Its gonna be so much fun, cause we all get along really well, so Im really looking forward to living with them next year. Our neighbors are hopefully gonna be our guy friends Wayne, Tuan, Issaac, and Hayato, yays. Lol, Im excited, we still havent decided if we want to live on campus or off campus yet, but we'll decide sooner or later. Good stuff, I think next year's living arrangements are gonna be super cool. OK, its official, my school has possibly the worst dorm food out of all the schools, Kathy, what you ate sounds so good right now, but that would mean I would have to make the super long treck to Carillo dining commons if I wanted something that good, and Im much to lazy. OK, I wrote a lot, byes, and smiles, and hugs, laters.
Kathy - 04:56 p.m. Long time no blog! Wow, lots of red and pink colors. Anyway, it's been kinda boring over here. Class started last Friday, and my schedule is like the one I had last quarter. All 4 lectures on MWF, and then everything else on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I have 5 hours (Stupid Econ discussion) on Monday, only 1 hour (Math discussion) on Tuesday, 4 hours on Wednesday and Friday, and 4 hours on Thursday (Math, Physics discussion and Physics Lab). Greeeat. My schedule has gaps this time too. 8-11, 2-3. A 3 hour gap...but since I was gonna eat lunch at noon, I don't go back. I actually go to Roger's classes (he goes to mine too since he has mini 1 hour gaps) so my days are like 2 hours longer. @.@ Strange, huh? Last quarter I went to 4 classes each max...and now I go to more classes than I need to. I think I'll join in the ER talk since...I have nothing better to talk about. I haven't been watching after all the cool people left. I don't like Luka. His funky accent and big nose. Grrr. I remember Carter's NAAASTY beard thing...yay, it's off. Does he look all old now? I used to watch it during the 2nd year (I watched Chicago Hope during their 1st year), and he was pretty cute. I miss Ming Na Wen! She was cool...but kinda weird with the baby thing. Ya...I don't know much more about ER. :P I'm not going home this weekend! No one is here to pick me up, so I have to spend my lovely 3 day weekend here. Oh well. I have to catch up on homework and stuff because it's too hard to do it during school days. XD I spend most of my weekdays doing Writing homework because she gives so much! >.<;; I guess my weekend will be devoted to reading Econ and doing Math/Physics problems. -_-;; FUUUN. But on Sunday, we're gonna go to the Westminster mall and get a Cinnabon! After that Universal Studios Cinnabon place, I crave it. :O I ate it at Arcadia, Topanga, Six Flags, and Westminster. I tried finding a Cinnabon here in Irvine but failed. I tried to find one near TO also, because I saw this man holding a Cinnabon drink in the TO mall! I wanted to run after him to ask him where he got it, but I think I'd scare him...and he was old...wouldn't wanna give him a heartattack. :P Food is only ehhh here. I kinda felt like a cheeseburger during Winter Break, but with that whole mad cow disease thing, I'm staying away from beef. And there hasn't been a lot of food that I liked to eat lately. I went to Brandywine (this nice sandwichy place), and the special for the day was this yummy grilled chicken caesar salad sandwich. The bread was toasted and good (I don't know what it was, but it tasted really good). Greaaat...getting hungry. I have to find a buddy to eat with because most people went home (not like I'd eat with them anyway because I have like...no friends, haha). Eating alone sucks. For some reason, it always seems like I'm eating a lot when I'm by myself. Oh ya. I got sick! Drats. I have a sore throat, nothing too serious. I've been taking some Halls, that's supposed to soothe sore throats...ain't workin' that well. I also got some NyQuil from this dude from Roger's hall. Yup. OOOH! Which reminds me, Krispy Kreme! We went to this Import Car Club meeting last nite, and after the meeting, everyone drove (with their fixed up cars) to Krispy Kreme. It was during the time when they gave out free donuts. I ate two because the NyQuil dude didn't want any so I made him get one for me. XD YUMMIE! ^__^ Remember when we sold those Krispy Kreme donuts during lunch? And then we'd have to like sell them afterschool because we'd have extra! >.<;; Hahaha, and we gave some to the Taco Bell people because they were like dying and we needed to get rid of them! Haha, good times. :P Ok, I think I wrote enough to make up for the time I've missed. My verizon plan is back to normal, so ya'all can call! (As long as I don't talk for more than 200 minutes during the day...but I don't talk that much anyway, so it's all good) 818-517-2415. Talk to ya'all later. Bye bye! ^_^
Jean - 12:35 a.m. Heh, Sarah. Well, if nobody else wants to post, I can hold a conversation with you on here. Who needs other people anyway? I can amuse myself perfectly fine, thank you very much. I loved "sarchasm" and "ignoranus". I am tempted to start using the latter in everyday conversation. Well, I also liked "bozone", but the word sounds a bit lame. Dude, I kinda miss Revelle chicken but not enough to walk 20 mins just to buy it. I had chicken nuggets and a yogurt from CV at four but I didn't even eat all the chicken nuggets 'cuz I've had them a few days in a row already. After I got back around 9 I was hungry again so I ate some tuna and a tangerine. :T
I fixed what I hope was the last bug in my CS program around 11 and I was so happy I seriously jumped up and squealed. I ran around my room in circles shouting "YES YES YES YES YES!!!" Hehe. It's due tomorrow at 11:59 PM.
It just hit me today that Jan 27 is something like 10 days away. I have an o-chem midterm on Jan 27. I have a paper due on Jan 27. I have a CS assignment (the next one) due on Jan 27. Booooooo. I haven't even started any of it. I am going to be soooo busy come next week. And I found out today in o-chem we have review sessions every Saturday. Every Saturday *morning*. From 9-10:20. Most of them in YORK. That means I gotta get up at, like, 8. The cafeterias aren't even open at 8 on Saturdays. That is going to be such a pain. I am so behind on o-chem. Tomorrow night will be devoted to o-chem.
Physics quiz tomorrow. I gotta study for that first. Gonna read a bit more physics then go to bed. I can wake up tomorrow morning around 9 and study for another two hours. Physics is at 12. Violin lesson at 1:30. Practice for a bit after that. Then come back and do o-chem the rest of the night. Maybe I'll buy myself a smoothie as a reward. Hee.
Sarah - 07:51 p.m. I find it amusing that it turned out to be our lil board since i see you fairly often. anyhoo =) i liked your lil antecdote/joke (is that what you call it?) ohhh I made up a word- well my friend did-- Sarahcasm sorta close to one of those words. muhahaha you like Luka eh? I liked him a bit 7th season wasn't so much a man slut but wasn't a very nice boyfriend but Abby became a not so fun girlfriend in the end too. Noah shaved his beard eh? THANK GOD!!! I hear celebration all across the ER boards. He's sooo ugly with that thing. rmmmppp huh I should go do some sit ups I had earl's nachos AND revelle chicken-I feel really sick. My friend was soo lucky cause they ran out of the chicken strips so she had to wait like 5 min and the guy was soo nice and gave her like 14 peices seriously- the lady at the registar thought it was a double order.
Jean - 11:43 p.m. Just some stuff I came across today.
New Definitions
The Washington Post's Style Invitational once again asked readers to take any word from the dictionary, alter it by adding, subtracting, or changing one letter, and supply a new definition. Here are this year's (2003) winners:
1. Intaxication: Euphoria at getting a tax refund, which lasts until you realize it was your money to start with.
2. Reintarnation: Coming back to life as a hillbilly.
3. Bozone (n.): The substance surrounding stupid people that stops bright ideas from penetrating. The bozone layer, unfortunately, shows little sign of breaking down in the near future.
4. Foreploy: Any misrepresentation about yourself for the purpose of getting laid.
5. Cashtration (n.): The act of buying a house, which renders the
subject financially impotent for an indefinite period.
6. Giraffiti: Vandalism spray painted very, very high.
7. Sarchasm: The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person who doesn't get it.
8. Inoculatte: To take coffee intravenously when you are running
late.
9. Hipatitis: Terminal coolness.
10. Osteopornosis: A degenerate disease. (This one got extra credit.)
11. Karmageddon: It's like, when everybody is sending off all these really bad vibes, right? And then, like, the Earth explodes and it's like, a serious bummer.
12. Decafalon (n.): The grueling event of getting through the day consuming only things that are good for you.
13. Glibido: All talk and no action.
14. Dopeler effect: The tendency of stupid ideas to seem smarter when they come at you rapidly.
15. Arachnoleptic fit (n.): The frantic dance performed just after
you've accidentally walked through a spider web.
16. Beelzebug (n.): Satan in the form of a mosquito that gets into your bedroom at three in the morning and cannot be cast out.
17. Caterpallor (n.): The color you turn after finding half a grub
in the fruit you're eating.
And the pick of the literature:
18. Ignoranus: A person who's both stupid and an asshole.
-------------------------------------------------
A couple go on vacation to a fishing resort in northern Minnesota. The husband likes to fish at the crack of dawn. The wife likes to read.
One morning the husband returns after several hours of fishing and decides to take a nap. Although not familiar with the lake, the wife decides to take the boat out. She motors out a short distance, anchors, and continues to read her book.
Along comes a law enforcement officer in his boat. He pulls up alongside the woman and says, "Good morning Ma'am. What are you doing?"
"Reading a book," she replies. (thinking "isn't it obvious?")
"You're in a restricted fishing area," he informs her.
"I'm sorry officer, but I'm not fishing, I'm reading."
"Yes, but you have all the equipment. I'll have to take you in and write you up."
"If you do that, I'll have to charge you with sexual assault," says the woman.
"But I haven't even touched you," says the officer.
"That's true, but you have all the equipment."
The Officer says, "Have a nice day."
Moral of the story: Don't mess with a woman who reads. She may also be able to think.
Jean - 10:41 p.m. I wanna see Hindsight! I think Luka/Goran whatsisname is becoming my new obsession after Carter. I found a site where I can download clips and stuff of Luka...I downloaded the one from Secrets and Lies where he's reciting Hamlet in Croatian and the one where Luka and Carter are fencing. Hee, how cute. You know, I'm tempted to take fencing. Let me know how that goes, Crystal. :P
Sarah, you make paragraphs by typing < p > without the spaces in between. I saw some pictures of Noah Wyle today, and it seems like he's shaved his beard off. He looks a lot better like that, although I swear, he was cuter when he was younger. I must say I was surprised at the lack of Luka-fic taking place in Africa, especially after such an episode like The Lost. Oh, well, I guess I just have weird tastes. Luka/Kerry seems to be a popular pairing. Sorry, but I just don't see the two together.
I just got back from the practice rooms because I'm an idiot and decided to go practice tonight at nine. I had a piano lesson earlier today, and apparently we have a recital in February. Yippee. On a Tuesday. I told her I couldn't make it until after nine, so I'll be in class from five to seven-thirty, then from eight to nine, and then I'll run over there and play. ::sigh:: I have to practice violin tomorrow...probably after CS, so from eight to nine, maybe? Urgh. I have to study for physics, too...quiz on Friday. And I have to catch up on o-chem. So much work to do. Sorry, Sarah...I can't help you write a Beatles song (!) or memorize the Constitution. I'm afraid you're on your own. Now, math...that's a different story. ;) I'm off to shower. Over and out. Sarah - 06:08 p.m. haha this is becoming a discussion board for me, jean and crystal. yayaya ahhh i remember Lucky--i took his fat off. yea i did like Hindsight there was this scene where Luka made a pass at Abby muhahaha. good stuff. yea fanfiction.net really sucks the carby fuzz is TOO much fuzz. It's always Abby and Carter are in a fight Carter leaves, Abby gets sick, hurt, or pregant or all of them and Carter comes back and well ya know. mmmmpppp grrr i have to make up a Beatles song- how do you do that??!! ok i've run out of things to say, trying to memorize the Constitution of the US. how do you make paragraphs here?
Jean - 10:00 p.m. Geez, Crystal, you ARE nuts. I couldn't keep up that schedule and stay sane, but then again, I've always wasted more time than you. I'd be too scared of doing poorly in my classes. My schedule looks so empty compared to yours. I'm not doing *anything* but classes and music. And I spend next to no time on music. Dude, and I think I have fewer class hours than you, too. How many classes are you taking anyway?? :O
I just got back from physics an hour ago. Having classes at night kinda sucks. I want to just loll around in my room. I dunno how you can take being out until 10 every night, Crystal. I thought about going to the practice rooms after physics, but then I decided not to because I'm just too plain lazy. If I play poorly at my lesson tomorrow, then so be it.
Hey, Sarah, did you like the episode "Hindsight"? It's Luka-heavy, isn't it? I'm still on the search for good ER fanfic. There just isn't any, I swear. Half the writers on Fanfiction.net are in first grade and the other half never learned any grammar. Okay, okay...maybe that's not perfectly true. I've come across two good fics on Fanfiction.net for ER. Even the writing on alt.tv.er.creative isn't very good nowadays. I think part of the problem is that there are too many characters on ER, so it's hard to find stuff that I want to read.
Hah, your cat Lucky from physiology. That class was...interesting. Tenth grade was only three years ago, but looking back, it seems so far away. Twelfth grade seems in the foreground, eleventh grade a little farther away, and tenth grade is just a faint memory, never mind anything that took place before then. Lindero? Naw. White Oak? Double naw. :P
Eeks. Must do homework. Must do...oh, forget it. I'll do homework tomorrow. ::insert innocent look::

Lol Sarah I remember that lucky song from physiology^_^ we named our cat after it...it was soo long ago :P
Sarah - 10:28 p.m. mmmm i actually have some free time...ugh 8:00am tommorrow. sigh ohhh Brintey's new song-Toxic i REALLY like. I haven't liked one of her songs this much since...uhh Lucky, yeah good days. wow i look ECK in the pic with me attempting DDR-a look of confusion, shock and distgust. That's was pretty much my expression watching last week's ER with carter and she that must not be named. puhuhuhuhu <-- hey it's my last name. mmmm my music teacher wore these tight pin-striped bell bottoms- ehhh let's see anything else interesting happen...no sigh ok bye.
Jean - 08:39 p.m. OMG, Crystal, the computer is SUCH a bad thing to have in front of you when you should be working!! I spent all of last night reading ER fanfic instead of doing o-chem!! It's soooooooo bad. I bought my scantrons and added my music class today, but I still got very little done in terms of classes. ::sigh::
Geez, Crystal, you sound like you're doing so much. Don't you ever spend time on your classes or do you just pay attention to other stuff? You go out a lot, too. Where do you get so much time? Ooohhh...I forgot...you don't sleep. :P
I saw In America yesterday with a few of my suitemates. It was a good movie. It was a sad movie (at least for me). On the one hand, I'm glad I saw it, but on the other, it feels like I wasted those three hours. Not that I would've done anything if I were in my room, but I like to deceive myself sometimes. Just humor me. :P
Gotta focus...gotta focus...gotta... ...
Crystal - 08:13 p.m. I paid 200 bucks for my o-chem book >.< gahhhhh!!!!! LOL jean happens all the time cept i read one word then i look at my comp screen...read another work and look at comp screen lolol. I've been sleeping abonormally early now but its wierd. I'll be waiting for someone to im me back then ill rest my eyes a little and the next thing you know its 7 am in the morning and theres like 4 blinking im boxes. o.O haha naps are scary. I went to my first fencing class today...it looks soo cool ^____^ and my photography class starts thursday and taiko starts friday soo excited ^____^ but chem lab!!!!! i dont want to take it. Its at 8AMMMMM thats sooo early and i can't skip it!!!!! lol okie gotta go to puzzles....someone update!!!!!!!!!!
Jean - 04:14 p.m. My first week of school is over. I only have nine more weeks to go, a week of finals, and then I am home free...until spring quarter. ::sigh:: I don't know yet how screwed I am for this quarter. So far it seems manageable but I've spent two days on my CS program (probably somewhere around five or six hours), and it still doesn't work. Well, parts of it work. It half-works. I haven't been able to focus on o-chem at all, so I'm still on #23 in Chapter 1, out of...40-something problems I hope to finish.
Life would be so much easier if we could just focus on one thing. I think I get distracted too easily. First I think of another website to check, then I decide I want to read a little in the fantasy book I'm reading for fun, and then I decide I'm hungry. Grr...if I could just *do* o-chem then I would get it done. Or if I could just *do* comp sci then I would get it done. My attention wanders far too much. Case in point: my o-chem book is open right in front of me, but I am typing in the Koob instead, and I'm eating an apple at the same time.
Thanks for posting the pics, Kathy. I look so bad in them, but oh, well. I'm glad you got in your math class, Sarah. Book prices are ridiculous. I paid >$100 for my comp sci book, and I'm not even sure if I'm going to need it. I'm thinking about returning it. Oohh...I need to go buy Scantrons too. And fill out an application for the major I want to get into. So much stuff to do, no will power to get it done. Now that I've whined away six minutes, I'm going to try to get some o-chem done, and failing that, I'll make the 15-minute walk to the practice rooms and practice some violin. My New Year's Resolutions have all been shot to h*ll already. :T
ETA: As I was finishing up my entry, I almost hit "control-x, control-s", which is how you save programs in the text editor we use in comp sci. My classes are getting to me.
Sarah - 08:58 p.m. Back to avoiding DOC well i got into my math class cept books are $200 dollars. but YAY this girl said she would lend me hers and she doesn't want any rent money i luvs her right now. ok need to read a fictitious case as to whether eating a club member to survive is considered a crime.
Kathy - 12:24 p.m. Here are the pictures from the lil get-together thing. Click on the image to see a larger one.
Kathy - 12:03 a.m. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
