Kya ha ha. I've returned from the dead and still feel that way. ^^ Yet another sign of a geek (among the many that were pointed out this weekend at the NY's party)--not going to bed early despite needing it due to feeling guilty about not pitaing for so long. Maa. Anywayz, I've been doing things in my long absence. I was working and have since quit. I've been Chrono Crossing and Final Fantasy IX-ing. Christmas was great. I got neat things, but am still waiting on my birthday presents which are still in the mail. Mou. Animenation can be quite slow at sometimes, but it was the holidays, so I'll be generous with my patience. My parents got me a DVD player for my birthday, which I ended up getting on Christmas since I was in Illinois on that day. (It was the 30th, btw--a fact that I nearly forgot that day. O_o;)

And speaking of this weekend, the party and surrounding day of joy in Arlington Heights was really fun. Yes, despite the look on my face (usually concluded to be bordem) when I sit there just watching, I'm interested and having fun--really. I'm just quiet. o_o; Often too quiet. And if Katherine or Juri read this pita (does anyone at all? o.o), thank you for having us over. And to everyone else, it was nice meeting and hanging with you! ^^!

My manga collection was nicely fattened this weekend. I picked up Ayashi no Ceres 3-6, all of Shoujo Kakumei Utena, two random things, and SM #8. I also picked up a translated version of Little Girl at the Window, a Japanese novel, a tiny portion of which we translated in class last year, and a Kansai-ben language book. Makes me wonder how sensei would react if I said something in Kansai-ben. hehe...

It being New Years and all I'm supposedly supposed to come up with some resolutions to turn my life around. Usually I don't since I'm always doing that O_o;, but this year I've made one: to redesign my pita. Yes after 5 months of plain purple and green goodness, I'm going to strain my [lack of] htmling skills and do something different. I'm even going to try a picture! All together now! "ooooh! ahhhh!" ^^; Modern design, all the way, baby! I was going to do it tonight after archiving everything before today (you know, new year, new look), but it's inching toward midnight and I have to be up and able to haul luggage up 4 flights of stairs tomorrow in my yearly return to campus from winter break. And I'll take that cue to duck into bed. (How sneaky! *shifty eyes*) Happy New Year, folks. ^^ G'night.

Nyaa. Short pita today. I'm cold and tired as heck. Too much computer usage for the Random One, but that's my fault for doing data entry. I'm working for another week at McLeod now. Whoopie! @_@ I hate filing, but it's good money... I sound so sarcastic today. O_o; Let's blame it on the weather because the weather is baaaad. Oh well, it's really not that bad to me, even though it's dangerous and nasty for travellers and driving anywhere past the end of the driveway. And I'm certainly not going anywhere. Now anywayz. I wanted to finish Christmas shopping today or tomorrow. But, I was born in the winter, so I think I'm prone to be at home in it. *shrug* Or maybe it's because I'm an assy villain? O_o; That's what these character tests are screaming at me. ehehe... I took the Trigun one. Keeping in mind I've seen only 5 episodes of Trigun, yet NEED to see more. Anyone have some I could view? Neh? Neh? *puppy eyes*

# 1 Kuroneko-sama (nyaa. that's so me...^^;)
# 2 Legato Bluesummers (another villian! O_o; I've never seen him in action, but he seems assy from stuff I've read. We both like ice cream and candy though. ^^)
# 3 Vash the Stampede (mmm...donuts...)
# 4 Meryl Stryfe (i like her all right)
# 5 Rem Saverem (?)
# 6 Midvally the Hornfreak (eh? O_o)
# 7 Dad Nebraska (?)
# 8 Nicholas D. Wolfwood (he seems keen.)
# 9 Brilliant Dynamites Neon (dunno him either)
# 10 Millions Knives (?)
# 11 Mom Nebraska (?)
# 12 Milly Thompson (hmm...now I thought I'd get her more toward the top...but guess not ^^)

I really really want to take the Slayers one of these, if it exists.

Oh, speaking of Trigun, I bought two candles in glass cups for my grandma for Christmas. They have Chinese on them, with one standout kanji on each. One is "ai" and the other is "shizuka." After I bought them I was like, "Oh geez, it's love and peace! *victory sign* ^_^;" Hehe. Now I'm going to fetch myself warm jammies, a blanket, and my kopii of CC. Nite, everyone.

Random Celestial TOTD: "Nyaa." (Ok, were you REALLY expecting something else? ^_~)

@_@ not quite dead.... Although I'm "getting sick" and have been for the past two weeks. My immune system is wierd. Anywayz, I haven't been doing much on break. Just working and Christmas shopping and surviving all the snow. I've been replaying CC too, and I'm understanding more now. ^^ I've gotten all the endings so far sans the Subjugation of Lynx (because I forgot when Harle left the party -_-), the programmer's room, and any ending beyond the beginning of the quest for the dragon relics.

We bought our Christmas tree today. It was cold as heck outside and I almost froze my toes off. It's only supposed to get colder too. Lovely! My job is ending on Friday, thank god. I've taken to filing things now instead of data entry. They ran out of things for me to do. I detest filing, yet I'm doing it. It's money though! I'm going to try to work for one more week and then quit for the break. I wanted to work til the 29th, but I'm sick of it now. ^^ Just let me at that free time! heh. I'm almost done with Christmas shopping. I have everyone except my mom, brother (but I think I know what he's getting now), and one of my grandmas. They're the hardest people to buy for too.

Ok, I took the Weiss Kreuz test too even though I only know a few characters from it. I really should see more episodes. Only seen four.

# 1 Naoe Nagi (Never heard of him till I looked him up. He's bad. But a real cutie. ^^)
# 2 Tsukiyono Omi (ooh, a trend! Omi's such a cutie! ^^)
# 3 Fujimiya Aya/Ran (hee! I took the WK love test a little while ago and came out with Aya as #1 for me! ^^)
# 4 Kudou Yohji (this boy irks me for some reason)
# 5 Toto (*follows the yellow brick road*)
# 6 Hidaka Ken (oo; i'm not into soccer enough I guess. I'll continue to drool over his seiyuu though *_*)
# 7 Neu (who?)
# 8 Schoen (uh...)
# 9 Schuldich (Sexy voice... ^^)
# 10 Hell (dunno this one either)
# 11 Manx (*shrug*)
# 12 Brad Crawford (bad guy?)
# 13 Farfarello (who?)
# 14 Persia (good.)

Anywayz. Ja, oyasumi.

Wow! She finally updated! @_@ Sorry about the lag for any of you who actually read my dribble. I've done much since I last wrote. I came home first of all, there was Thanksgiving, I did stuff with Karen (you can read about that stuff on her pita). And I beat CC. See CC section for further ranting. :] I've been practicing for our choir somewhat. I really don't like a couple of the sections in the songs we're doing. It's Baroque stuff. I lounged around most of the earlier part of Thanksgiving week. I spent time with my loving family and ate many yummy foods--got my yearly fix of pumpkin bars--yumma. ^^ The later part of that week was spent at Karen's house and driving across town to buy icing and steaks forgetting that it was THANKSGIVING of all days and the stores were closed. Eating dinner at Denny's was frightening only in the sense that I realized how different I don't feel being almost 21 and in college as opposed to 18 and in high school. O_o; This was brought on by seeing a couple of folks there I knew and didn't recognize until I looked really REALLY closely. Of course now I'm supposedly more learned and intelligent, I speak Japanese, my anime collection is larger, etc. etc. but I don't look different or feel any different. It's an odd feeling I guess. Anywayz.

I have a job again. Really good paying too! ^^ I'm a temp again of course. I'm working out at McLeod doing data entry--one of the world's most boring jobs. Arrgh. Hour in and hour out I type in data and nothing else. The days are ungodly long--and this is only my second day. o_o; Well, it's only for two weeks supposedly, so I'll sit there and earn the money. I think I'm going to get a DVD player for my birthday. I was just going to wait and get a PS2 once the price came down, but I dunno. It would be nice having less hardware around, but then again, I could always just get the player now, buy the PS2 later and sell the player to someone. ^^ That way I can see more Battle Athletes Victory! Such a cliched but adorable show. The other driving force behind my desire for the DVD player is Cowboy Bebop. So much cheaper to buy it on DVD from buy.com than buy the boxset ANYwhere, including buy.com. So anywayz, enough of my babble and onto the good stuff! Oh, one more thing. Karen, is this yours? angrycows.com

***Chrono Cross in All it's Colorful Glory--includes vast amounts of spoilers and commentary on the ending***

As I said, I beat the game. I couldn't bear just to kill the final boss so I used the CC and got the good ending. ^^ Such a sentimentalist I am. Frankly I was kinda disappointed in the video part of the ending--it was mostly words and credits with a tiny screen on the side showing some girl (whom I'm assuming is the reincarnation of Schala/Kid) wandering through Tokyo. I guess I just wanted more Serge and Kid FMV eye candy. hehe. One thing about the ending that sort of confused me (ok, really confused me) is how can Lavos merge with Schala yet still appear in the future alone to be killed by Crono-tachi? I fully admit time stuff confuses me to no end, so I need to go back and find somethign in the game that could explain all that. I think it's possible, considering the pulling of bunches of things from other dimensions and the way time works, but I'm not too sure. Matt on the other hand remains convinced that he's not confused about anytihng and knows beyond a doubt that the game makers screwed up in this sense. O_o;

I certainly didn't see the part about Lynx being Serge's father coming. Although it kinda seems like an unnecessary element to add in at the end, but it makes the game interesting. I got the whole Terra Tower/Chronopolis thing figured out now thanks to Belthasar's explanation, although I really want to see that scene before the dragons merge again. And we understand now basically Dragons = bad, FATE = "good" and that FATE used the FF (which is part of Lavos) to seal the Dragons. I really liked the truth behind Harle--that even explains why the moon is there in AW and not in HW (or the other way around--I'm forgetting right now). Which leads me to wonder was FATE acting as an agent of Lavos or was she just doing her own thing?

One last thing that sorta bugged me was Schala's sudden change in hair color. For one thing I liked it purple. ^^ Of course the plot twist might have been more obvious if Kid had purple hair, so I guess that's one reason. Schala does have the genes for it since her descendents and ancestors are blond (Marle, Ayla). I think I'm remembering right that the line of rulership in the CT/CC world has gone unbroken. I know Marle told Ayla to make up with Kino or else she'd be in trouble, but I might have just assumed that Schala was Marle's ancestor because of the pendant without the game telling use specifically. But if all that's true, then Schala (or Magus o_O;;;) must have had kids at some point then... Speaking of Magus, does anyone else besides me think Guile could be Magus? I mean, they're both mysterious, black innate, have long purple hair, and fly around when in your party. Could be...^^

All praise the trimester system cuz I am done with school til January! :D hehe. I finished up all my papers and tests and whatnot early this afternoon and I goofed off the rest of the day. Ok, I didn't goof off, per se, but I did translate 2 more pages of "Mahou tsukaitai!" as well as packed, spiffied up the bathroom, watched a movie, and ate dinner out at the Feedbag Place (ok, it's called Hammer's General Feed Store, but my name is cooler. *snicker*) Anywayz, I'm outta Galesburg tomorrow and back home to Marion where my first task will to play and beat Chrono Cross. :P Then it's newgame+ time along with Lunar and FF5. Ooh, and the Fushigi Yuugi OAV series--both of them. Speaking of anime. Karen, do I remember correctly that you have more episodes of Utena beyond #17? O_o I randomly thought of this the other day, and I can't remember if you do and if so why we never watched them...

Beyond that not much else has been up. There will be more pita time at home I guess, but not as many interesting things for me to say. I'll prolly get a job next week--back to being a temp I'll reckon unless I find something different. I doubt I will though. Wow, Thanksgiving is less than a week away. O_o Time flies when you're stressing about finals. Well, many more of my relatives will be at Thanksgiving this year--all of my aunts and uncles from the strange warm places of the US aka Florida and California. Well, I only have four of them total. My mom and dad are both from 2 child families. So, I guess I have more time to waste and stuff to do before bed. Ja ne.

Argh! It's cold. It's so very damn cold! O_o; That's the last time I leave the window cracked this winter. Darn dorm heating system. Anywayz, it's been a week since I last updated. Much has happened I suppose. Last weekend I didn't do anything special. We watched a movie and ate out. Matt and I did dinner with his Grandma at the Sirloin Stockade. I'm still disturbed by the name of that restaurant. Not sure why yet... Monday was Matt and I's two year anniversary. ^^ yay. He got me Mike Nelson's Movie Megacheese. Yay! Sunday through today have been filled with doing finals and preparing to do finals. I actually have no tests this term, yet I have two big final papers and a take-home final in Japanese. Still, that's enough. Yesterday was actually kinda crazy since the room four doors down from my in my suite caught fire. The damage was only confined to that room, but still the rest of the suite smells of smoke and nasty cleaning solution, but that's ok considering what COULD have happened. -.- It was an electrical fire too, they think, caused by too many cords in an outlet with no surge protector. I found out about it about a half hour after it happened when I was walking back from the fieldhouse to the caf and we saw the firetruck and suddenly the dorm near my suite was smoking. o.o They put it out fairly quickly, but a lot of her stuff was damaged. We ended up not being able to get back into our suite while they investigated and cleaned it up for about six hours.

I'm going home on Sunday sometime. My parents haven't emailed me back saying anything about that yet. Still, I didn't email them for like a week, so... Yes, I really want to play CC now. Erg! Maybe I can manage sometime on Saturday night if I finish my paper in time, but then of course I'm too far back in the story to finish it all in one night sitting. Even though I'm at Terra Tower, I still need to get level 7 Teqs and forge some rainbow equipment for people. I got to also thinking last night when talking to Karen, what if Harle had something to do with Lavos? What real purpose does she have in serving Lynx (now that we know who Lynx is!)? hee hee. Maybe she's Lavos. *grin* That'd be frightening. o.o; Forget I said that. Yet, more than that I just need to replay through that entire scene after the FATE thing again. @_@ Maybe through that whole area. And curse it all, but I know the basic of Magus and Schala too--not why they're there or HOW they even GOT there, but just where they are in CC thanks to some evil person not marking spoilers in SMU forum. Grr...Oh, hmm, Karen! ***SPOILER!** Since FATE and the Flame were only on AW, maybe while experimenting with the Flame, FATE was using it to control/influence HW like she was AW, but once her access to the Flame was cut off, she couldn't control HW anymore. @_@ Or did I just repeat something that was inherently obvious in the game. I'm not sure since I haven't played it in several weeks. Anywayz, I should stop pondering the philosophy of time and space and get back to lit. Bai now!

@_@ I have that "whip it song" in my head now thanks to the dancing canidate page, but god, that was funny. Almost as funny as the point, counter-point article in this week's Onion on Bears. Damn bears! *snicker* Anywayz, I have final stuff out the wazoo for the next few days. I've got three papers and a test left, but two of those papers are hefty and mind requiring. bleah. Good thing I feel so physically good now. *sarcasm* For some reason my stomach feels all wobbly right now. mah. So, I've had a fun week though. No more novels to read for me! :D The election thingy has been just odd. O_O; Crows keep flying by my window...I went to Champagne-Urbana yesterday for a tea ceremony thing. It was fun and (if it doesn't sound too corny) educational! It was raining to flood the earth yesterday which caused us all to be soaked before making it into the building. Good thing we got to change socks and all. Basically we talked with the professor for a bit. They have an actual tea ceremony class that they teach at the U of Illinois. Then we went into the tea room which was big enough for our whole class, and we did part of the ceremony. We got to eat a sweet, which looked like wood but was sweet and had the consistancy of the biscuit in pocky. The tea was ok. I really don't like tea at all, but I drank all it. Then we got to eat at an Asian buffet, which was tasty. Then I came home and went to class.

And Chrono Cross...Karen, how did you get into the library basement? I didn't notice a door... And yes the game is RIFE with CT references, things, people, stuff, etc. You find out just how much is (and it's SOOOOO much) later in the game. I'm not saying a word about it unless I'm asked since it's the consistance of the actual plot. Yes, Nikki is cool! Matt always calls him Marilyn Manson no matter how many times I try to explain about visual J-Rock. @_@ And speaking of him, wait til you find out who his mom is. ^^ I never got Glenn in my game, sadly. If you haven't gotten into the sewer yet, you can get in via the forest and water thingy. There's some plot that takes place down there later in the game, but I don't think there's anything down there you do or need now. I don't remember exactly, but the key is in that desk drawer in the corner by the locked dungeon area. The desk's right by the steps. I don't know about Pierre, but Guile has plot. I shouldn't even know since I never got him in my party, >_< but some idiot spoiled the conclusion of his story for me. Ah, and let me know what I can and can't tell you cuz I have info about Riddel and Glenn, but I'm not gonna say anything unless asked. ^^ Question! Don'tCHA (gomen! ^^;;) think Glenn could be Glenn (Frog)'s descendent? I don't know the answer, but they look a lot a like, ne?

Yo and stuff! :D I'm procrastinating again! It's been such a week. Oro. @_@ It was East Asian Festival this week. I helped out making temakizushi (aka: make your own sushi) with the Japanese club last night. ^^ It was a lot of fun, and quite tasty (except for the vinegar smell--ick.) Then I tried to do homework for an hour then it was off to the Japanese club movie. This week it was "Tampopo"--a movie all about ramen noodles. It was hysterical! If you haven't seen this movie yet, go! Just go and find a copy and be prepared to laugh your butt off. Basically, the story is about this women who runs a ramen shop, but she's not that good. One day a cowboy hat wearing truck driver eats at her shop and through some circumstances, agrees to help her make her ramen shop the BEST darn ramen shop in all Japan. The whole movie (did I mention it's live action?) is a spoof of Western cowboy movies and old samurai films. At any moment I thought there was going to be a tumbleweed blowing through a scene, but there wasn't. ^^ Sprinkled throughout this plot are self-contained and very very weird scenes about food. We get to see some strange things like old ladies running through grocery stores feeling cheese and squeezing peaches and hobos who just happen to be great singers AND master chefs. Even weirder is the scene with the lemon, the whipcream, and the live shrimp. o_O;;;

Today was entertainment day. My mom and grandparents came down to watch the show and take me to lunch. And shopping. ^^ We had lunch at Old Peking. Mmm... Our wonderful Japanese club entertainment was an old Japanese tale called "The Tongue-cut Sparrow." It was funny as all our skits are. I got to play an old woman who cut out the sparrow's tongue and died at the end cuz she was so greedy. ^^ Other events in the show were the Indian dances, a musical performance, and the Asian fashion show. Oh, yes! Sensei thinks he may teach a class on pop culture next year in the spring (2002)! ^^ yay! Also, as I was leafing through my latest issue of "Animerica" when I caught sight of an AnimeIowa badge on a picture of a cosplayer (who was cosplaying Brak). Thus, I finally found that website that contains pics from the con. Not the con's site, but here at Fansview.com. So if you missed the cosplay (hint, hint) there are a ton of piccies from that and of guests and other such stuffs. ^^ Anywayz, I'm going to stop procrastinating now. Going out with Matt and his family tonight. *gasp* Bai now!

Ooh, looky! I'm updating within two days of my last one! ^^; Special. Wha! We finally got started on our Japanese play performance for Saturday. 'Bout time, or else we'd really be screwed. Everyone's been so busy this term for some reason. I just don't get it, but I'm one of those people, so. I'm in the middle of my Lit. essay for this week. Argh. I read Mariette in Ecstasy this week. It wasn't as intriguing as the title sounds. It was about a nunnery. O_o; But there were interesting goingson because the new nun was very controversial to the others and she also experienced stigmata during the course of the novel. Then the other nuns kicked her out of the convent because they thought she was faking the whole thing. My paper's about the unwillingness to believe in miracles. I'm restraining myself from mentioning Juri (the one from Utena) and her little miracle problem. Such a good fangirl. ^^ *pats self on head*

I found out something really odd yesterday--Minami Takayama (the woman who played Dilly-kun and others) is also one of the members of Two Mix. O_o; Needless to say, I was surprised. I had no idea that (at least one) of the Two-Mix folks was a seiyuu. ^^ Just another reason that Minami kicks ass I guess. Saa...what else? Oh, that ants go marching song was stuck in my head all last night. :P I made a whopping amount of kanji flashcards last night. Erg. I get a break though--no quiz on Thursday. yay! I had Japanese table today. It's so much fun this year! There are loads of people there--15 including sensei. Last year we were stuck with a mere four, but somehow, miraculously, we've grown. There is a big first-year Japanese population this year, so that might have a hand in it. Anywayz, I must return to spinning my literary stuff. bai now.

Sunday, October 29, 2000 04:30 p.m.
Howdy. o.o Yeesh, I've been slacking off on updates. Anywayz, it was another one of those weeks, ya know? I watched Akira Kurosawa's "Ran" on Tuesday. It was really good. Oddly enough, I could actually pick out the Shakespeare elements, and I think one of the subtitles was a direct quote from King Lear. Wednesday I couldn't fence since our coach/instructor was out of town. ;_; That's two weeks I've been without fencing practice. Sigh. I need to get back in there. I miss poking folks with long, pointed sticks. ^^; Thursday was class and it was pretty good. I do have other classes and they're good too. I just don't mention them cuz they seem so class-like. Lit really doesn't. I guess it's because it's only once a week. Anywayz, the homework has really been piling up. Amazingly I feel as if I have nothing to do right now. Basically that's probably because I'm in denial about these two big papers I should be doing. ^^; Bad me. But they will be started this week. I only have a little over two weeks to do them on top of other things.

Speaking of other things, I'm upset (for several reasons, but one of the minor reasons being) because my independent major was threatened again on Friday. Sigh. When will the assults stop? I thought I had everything worked out after many many months of pinching and thinking of how I could do this and beating down one of my advisor's door for his reccomendation... ¬_¬ Anywayz, then a few weeks ago I found out that my English major had been wiped from my records without even informing me. I really hate the registrar. Not the people really, but their stupid policies and whatnot. (Rant: They're MY classes, let me change them, dammit!) So they did this because I had to have approval from the curriculum committee to have a double major with an independent major. @_@ WHICH the committee granted me, just not in writing so the registrar assumed they hadn't. So I finally got that worked out, and now this happens. I'm not going to post why here, but I'll let you know if you ask. However, I think as long as I get the wording on the proposal okay and either go abroad to Japan or take summer school this summer, I should be just fine. o_o But knowing me, the intensified luck soldier that I am *coff*, things could go quite bad. So. *crosses fingers*

Oh yeah! And I found out on Thursday that the hawk in the park is fake. O_o It's just a recording to scare the crows. I'm so disillusioned now. But on the bright side I found that Endless Waltz is going to be shown on 10 November! Yay! ^_^
