About this blog: ^-^
I usually write about the manga that I'm currently reading. At times, I write about the anime I watched. Since it is hard to share and talk my thoughts about a certain manga series when people don't know about it, I tend to summarize them from Chinese scanlations so beware, this blog is filled with spoilers and they are not 100% perfect. I'm partly doing this to improve my Chinese. ^^ Feel free to point out my mistakes. ^^ Occasionally, I would blog about myself and other misc. things.

    Extras:

Free Talk: Calendars, MnS teaser [?] and Blog Stuff
    Sunday, November 7, 2010

    Hehe, I’m somewhat excited for November or probably early December because that is when most magazines give away their calendars. Not that I buy the any of the magazines but I’m hoping people would scan them and I could probably use them for layouts or wallpapers =P Anyway, Cheese showed a preview of their calendar in their site. They are going to imitate what Shocomi did last year by using a theme for their calendar. Last year, Shocomi’s is Fairy Tales. For Cheese, this year, it will be ‘travelling around the world’. The three series featured here are really nice ^^ Though I have to say that it is better to stick with ‘couples’ rather than ‘threesome’ because I just felt sorry for Loki. ^^;

From Margaret webpage, it seems that Mei-chan no Shitsuji is going for the climax. I’m really happy that they made that other arc shorter or probably overlap since from the teaser, if I understand it correctly with the help of babelfish, it seems that Mei’s grandfather chose Kento and fired Rihito but in the end, Mei is going to choose. They are also giving out a deck of cards inspired by the series. I think there are conditions in order to get the cards because when I bought Margaret before in Hong Kong, there are no freebies. I think it’s nice especially since there are a lot of characters in this series. Oh, I think according to the official site, Hana to Akuma is ending. Opps, actually it was mentioned in the latest English scanlation. ^^; Anyway, based on what’s happened in the past chapters, I’m a bit underwhelmed about it all if it is to be compared to my excitement over the series when I started reading it before. Well, hopefully the ending is good.

Lastly, I’m frustrated that Ookami-heika no Hanayome is taking too much time to summarize but I really want to get this updated soon with 8 chapters to go. Ugh, and currently, they are in a hot spring and I think something good is going to happen there. =P I wonder if she still had a hangover that is why she isn't freaking out yet that Reishou just slept in the same bed with her =P There are no chapter for Bokutachi wa Shitte Shimatta in Chinese this last month. Actually, so does Mei-Chan no Shitsuji. ^^; I’ve slightly lost interest in Akuma to Love Song so no summary for this last month. Depending on something, I might just give a brief summary on it later on. The author seems to have a 70p new series one-shot [?] in the next issue. I recognize the guy as a look alike of Shin but with glasses =P It goes the same for Kurobara Alice because summarizing about the past isn’t too fun. Two chapters of what happened to Maximillian before they go to the present again which seems interesting. I would want to skip but I think it is important. Futsumashi na Yome desu ga is on hold, too since there seems to be not much interest over that series. Basically, I’m prioritizing Ookami-heika no Hanayome than these other series. ^^; Kyou, Koi wo Hajimemasu 74 is out and as usual, Tsubaki is getting the short end of the stick ^^; but I’m glad that she’s actually pissed off. Not sure if it will last though. I plan to do that when manga dump begin which could happen soon but in the meantime, I’ll continue to summarize Ookami-heika no Hanayome. I’m still 1 and 1/4 chapters finished of a 3 chapter arc.

    Skip Beat! [Chapter 166]

Kyouko is surprised when the Box’R director calls out to her from the side and says that she also came. He says that it is because she is related to it so she got in. He asks her to get them to let him inside, too. Kyouko apologizes for leaving the set. He tells her that it is okay since she is worried about the actor who got involved in the accident especially since Ren is in the same company as hers. He admits that even if he isn’t related to it, he also ran to check it out because of curiosity. Kyouko sweatdrops and feels relax that she isn’t scolded yet she feels uneasy with that. He asks her what happened to Ren. Kyouko is about to reply when she looks surprised when someone says to call the ambulance. Ogata also calls for the shooting to stop. While Box’R director looks shock, Kyouko goes to Ogata to ask about Ren. Peeking at Ren in the car with the others, Ogata tells her that there is no reaction at all and this is obviously unusual so no matter what, he thinks that it is better for Ren to be checked up on by a doctor. Kyouko looks a bit tense upon seeing Ren just staring off nothing in front. She calls his name but still no reaction. In his mind, Ren is still looking shocked as he imagined Rick’s blood has enveloped him and harden thus making him immobile. The crying woman who is holding bloody Rick shouted that she cannot forgive Ren throughout her life even if she dies. She exclaimed why Rick had encountered such an incident when it is obviously Ren’s fault. If he isn’t there [/if he weren’t born], this wouldn’t have happen to Rick. If Rick only didn’t have any relationship with Ren and if he didn’t know Ren, then Rick wouldn’t have died. Still crying and angry, the woman called him a murderer. She shouted for Ren to die in place of Rick. Ren started to think that if he died in place of Rick, would Rick live again. He wondered if that is what Rick wanted that is why his body has gradually stiffen/frozen. The woman still kept on shouting but Ren doesn’t hear them anymore. Ren believes that if that is what Rick wanted then it’s also good. There is a scene which focuses on Rick’s watch. When Ren has resigned to his fate, there is a light on the tip of his right fingers. The hardened blood melted and gradually dripped away to the ground. This surprised Ren. He looks at his hand and sees someone is holding his hand. The darkness move away as light gradually increases from the hand until Ren can finally see sad looking Kyouko holding his hand. Kyouko looks up and is surprised that Ren is staring at her. She calls out his name and asks if he is alright. Soon, Ren also sees that Yashiro and a couple of staff are standing behind Kyouko while looking at him. Kyouko asks if he can hear her voice. After a pause as Ren looks at Kyouko and see/felt her hand holding his, Ren gently smiles and says that he can hear her clearly. Some staff are approaching the car carrying with a blanket and a first aid kit. The series goes on a break and the continuation would be on December 4th.

So, it seems that Ren’s delinquent/rebellious past got someone killed. It is probably his enemies who tried to get back at him by killing his friend. From what the woman is shouting, it does seem that she disapproves of Rick’s relationship with Ren. Since there is a scene regarding Rick’s watch, I think it is the same watch that Ren is wearing. The time on his watch is probably the time when Rick died. Since the woman is talking about Ren replacing Rick, it does seem Ren took it to heart because I start to wonder if it is a coincidence though it does seem that Ren dyed his hair like Rick’s. I wonder if ‘Ren the true gentleman’ is also based on Rick’s personality. Unlike Ren, based on the last chapter, Rick is the one who has a tendency to wear necklaces. I’m curious though that for Ren to ‘re-live’ that incident, he is already somewhat catatonic so how did he get from that place to the point of Lory whisking him away to Japan as a favor from Ren’s father? It makes me think that they didn’t really ‘cure’ him or send him to a psychiatrist-whatever but rather, just reminded him of his earlier dream of becoming a great actor like his father. It is indeed like running away and momentarily keeping him busy but I guess it is better than to watch him waste away. No wonder his parents are worried sick about him. This pretty much explains why Ren believes that he doesn’t have any right to be happy since he should be the one who’s dead. It’s nice on how the author pretty much implied that the one who is going to save him from the murky depths of ‘hell’ is Kyouko. Hehe, contrary to what she thought before that she cannot pull him out of there, she actually can ^^ Ah..does this mean that Kyouko is becoming an ‘angel’ in contrast to being a ‘demon’ lately? =P It would be nice if the author will also show that Kyouko is the one who is going to give her fairy prince the wings to fly high up the sky again ^^ Well, I think whatever happens next, Ren might have a lot of explaining to do after what happened or he’ll have to finally face this in order for this not to happen again. I don’t think he would want Kyouko to be worrying about him like that. Oh..I wonder if he would still get to act as BJ with his fragile mental state? Scans by BillWang動漫工作室製作

    The One [Chapter 71]
    Friday, November 5, 2010

Ulysses takes another kiss from Eros. He tells the congressman that he is captivated and that this time, the congressman found best of the best. The congressman says that his [congressman] taste isn’t bad. He asks if he is worth the value of whatever wine. Ulysses says yes and in his eyes, ‘Angus’ value is even more. Ulysses asks the congressman to give ‘Angus’ to him and let him be alone with him this time around. Looking aghast, the congressman asks if he’s kidding. He tells Ulysses that it doesn’t conform to the rules of his game. Ulysses holds up his hand to stop the congressman from talking. He says that the congressman has always been interested in the casinos of his cruise liners. He then makes a counter offer that if he gives ‘Angus’ to him and in return, he’ll surrender 20 percent of the casino’s business rights to him. Soon, the scene changes to a beautiful manicured garden that even has a peacock in it. While Ulysses lights up a cigarette, Eros asks him why he helped him. Ulysses asks if he meant that 20 percent of his business in the casino. Ulysses says that is nothing to him. “Do you still remember what I told you before? Just for you..I’m afraid that even if I had to gamble everything, I also won’t hesitate in doing so.” Eros looks surprised over this. Ulysses asks if he is that surprised. To Eros’ aghast, Ulysses says that he isn’t acting like the son of Gustav who is used to all sorts of praises and being sought after. Ulysses tells him that when he came closer to him, he realized that something is wrong since ‘Angus’ appearance/expression and color of his eyes isn’t the same as he remembered them. Ulysses asks him if he is the older brother of the twins. Eros looks tense over this but he didn’t reply. Ulysses touches his face and asks what the reason is for him to sacrifice himself for his younger brother. Eros takes Ulysses hand off his face and tells him it is because, he already has nothing to lose anyway. Ulysses is surprised by what he said. He asks if he didn’t come there today then, Eros will really just bear with and accept whatever happens afterwards. He continues to ask that if Eros knows how cruel that father of his especially since he isn’t of their world. While Eros is wondering why Ulysses has that pitiful look, Eros asks what now, does Ulysses want to him to repay his debt of gratitude? Thinking that Ulysses and his father are not the same type of person, Eros says, “Do you want me to be your ‘exclusive boy toy’? Say it, how many times do I have to sleep with you in order for it to be enough?” Ulysses looks surprised by what Eros said. He looks a bit displeased. He closes his eyes and tells Eros to relax for the one whom he wanted to pay him the debt of gratitude isn’t him. With that, Ulysses leaves and Eros looks aghast-surprised.

Wow, it’s one of the really short chapters with only 13 pages. ^^; Competing with Skip Beat? It really does seem that this series has become a BL series. Ulysses is such a cunning fox. He knows how to get what he wants and obviously, that congressman wants money more than Angus. It does seem that Ulysses is different from the other Angus’ rich admirers. He gave me the impression that he wants Angus alone and nothing else. I think he is serious when he said that he’ll give up everything for him and he even turned down Eros’ offer. If he is indeed like that, I think if Angus had met him earlier or met him instead of Madame Mode then Angus would have been more mentally stable. Well, I don’t think their father would want someone to monopolize his son since he is Angus is his tool to get into the good side of many influential people. It also makes me think that Ulysses really loves Angus that he noticed that Eros is just pretending to be Angus. Just like Lele, he observes the object of his love so closely that he knows if it is the real one or not. Well, I don’t think that Eros is too happy to know that the one whom Ulysses wants to thank him is Angus. ^^; But now, they do owe him one. I wonder if Ulysses would keep on doing things to make them owe him that they cannot refuse him? I wonder if he is thinking of Eros as Angus whenever he kisses and touches him ^^; Lastly, when Eros said that he got nothing to lose and I don’t recall him ever remembering Lele or anything, it makes me wonder if Lele is nothing to him, after all. He does seem like a bit ‘suicidal’ or ‘hopeless’ in a way because he doesn’t seem to think of a way to get out of this situation in order to go back to his job, friends, Lele and especially Angus and family. I’m thinking if ever Lele is going to meet with Eros, it could be through Ulysses through Ulysses’ son who is also a model. I wonder how the author is going to tie all this to Lele’s modeling job which was the originally the main theme of the series.

    Touran Merry Rose [Chapter 1]
    Tuesday, November 2, 2010

[Skip Beat! 166 teaser is out in baidu but the two summaries have discrepancies but this is basically what happened. Ren is still catatonic. It is either they are heading to the hospital or planning to. Kyouko is uneasy because he isn't reacting to her calls to him either. Ren is still in the past recalling the accident. When he feels as if his hand is growing cold, he then felt some warmth on it. [<- not sure] This seems to have brought him back as he sees Kyouko holding his hand. Kyouko asks if he hears her voice now. Ren gently smiles and says that he heard her. I might do a bit more proper summary if the Chinese comes out. By the way, are the English scanlators not doing this anymore? Oh ya, this series goes on a break and the next one will be on Dec 4th.]

燈港メリーローズ is a new series by Miyako Ritsu which is published in Bessatsu Hana to Yume. Touran means ‘light port/harbor’. I’ll be using ‘touran’ instead of ‘light port’ since it seems to be a name of the place. In Chinese, this is called Light Port Romance. From the art, I thought it is by the author of Emma. ^^; That is the first thing that got my interest. I think the author is fairly new. She used to be the artist of the manga serialization of Shinrei Tantei Yakumo in Betssatsu Hana. That series seems to have been re-serialized in Asuka. I recall reading a chapter of her Kanjou Hakubasen Shashou no Ei-san before which I thought is good though I have no idea what it was about again aside from the character wanting to be a train conductor. This story is about a young aristocrat lady, together with her young attendant, heading out to travel and check out Touran to see with her own eyes the place that her tutor had once told her about. As she travels to this different and exotic place, it turns out to be different from what she expected. This seems to be a monthly series and in Japan, my guess it is in chapter 3 since the series just started last August. On a side note, most of the names will be ‘invented/misspelled’ since I’m basing it on the Chinese pronunciation and what I can find in google. I’m only sure of the tutor’s name since it is written in English here. I hope the author would write the other’s names in English, too. Special thanks to Mopp and Sheep for the help regarding a couple of the names ^^. Enough introduction, here’s the 54 page first chapter of this promising series:

A light haired young girl looks wide-eyed at a globe as she asks, “Touran?” Narration: “Edgar, my mother’s distant relative and also my geography home tutor, would regularly talk about some exotic port.” Edgar tells her that it is a place where East and West culture and way of thinking merge together into one. “It is a recently constructed port in the Eastern world. A dream city wherein there’s nothing there yet what might gather up there. [ = full of potential] I want to go there and see it.” Narration: “Afterwards..he really went there. Went to ‘Touran’.” On a ship, a freckled girl with a bob-cut hairstyle calls out, “They say that we would arrive to our destination by noon. Even if it’s really tiring to be in this rocking ship for three weeks, but it’s also quite fun, right, Miss Azalea.” Sitting on a reclining chair by the deck, Azalea is reading a book. She agrees with her attendant and says that without her paternal aunt, her feelings totally feel vast and wide like the sea. They were surprised when they hear a woman shouts for a man to stop and let her go. A drunk moustache man is making advances on the woman. He tells her that he just want to chat with her. They were surprised when Azalea hits the man’s back with her book. The man shouts, what’s up with her. Azalea tells him, “It seems that you don’t understand the meaning of ‘let go’. You ought to understand it now, right?” The man is embarrassed and angry as he quickly leaves. The other women giggle over it. Soon, everyone is clapping in approval over what Azalea did. The grateful woman who was harrassed thanks her. Azalea is embarrassed by it that she tells her she’s welcome. The man angrily looks back at Azalea and curses her. Azalea nervously smiles and thinks that even if her aunt isn’t around, it seems as if she could still her aunt’s voice. Flashback: Her aunt would usually say, “Azalea, a lady shouldn’t be vulgar! You must have inherited that uncouthness from your mother’s side of the family.” Narration: “Substituting my mother who passed away early in single-handedly taking care of our house affairs, is my strict aunt Patricia.” While reading the newspapers, Azalea’s father would just look timidly over his sister’s comment. Patricia held a younger girl’s shoulder who is sitting by the piano. Her aunt happily commented that even if it is the same blood that is flowing in their veins but Emelyn’s is more the same as her family’s. Narration: “My weak-willed father would always just take aunt for her word [<- listen to her] and just like father, my younger sister Emelyn is obedient and sincere.” At the gazebo where Emelyn is embroidering, Azalea told her of her plans to go to Touran. Azalea said that she’ll be going there on summer. Emelyn happily said that her sister is amazing for she’ll be going to a far away place. She told Azalea to have fun. Narration: “At that, house where I cannot mix in, Edgar’s letter is the only thing I can hope on.” Azalea read the letter and in it, there is a sentence, “Come and have fun here, Azalea.” Narration: “And, I quickly made up my mind, and soon, I did go there.” End flashback.

The ship has finally docked. Azalea and her attendant walk around. Her attendant happily exclaims that it is a huge city. Azalea looks around and looks excited over Touran. She feels the hot air that blows through some palms. She looks at the bizarre Eastern style buildings. This is indeed an independent free trade port located between the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. Azalea grabs the arm of her attendant and exclaims, “Dulcie, let’s go!” They walk around to see people moving cargo and supplies in ships. The ladies look in bewilderment over the monkeys that a stall is selling. Azalea looks in amazement over a camel while Dulcie seems to fear it. Azalea thinks that the sun is blazing hot, and everything to her, seems to look ‘fresh/new’. Dulcie exclaims that people there are selling animals in broad daylight and that stall there is even selling birds. “Also, everyone are eating while walking..” Eating a warty looking oblong shape fruit-vegetable, Azalea tells her that is the style in Touran and it makes food taste more delicious as compared to if one sits down and eat. Dulcie looks flustered yet a bit suspicious over the fruit that Azalea gave her. She takes a bite and exclaims at Azalea for being mean to trick her since it is very bitter. It turns out to be a bitter melon. Looking awful, Azalea just says that it seems that it isn’t to be eaten raw. Azalea then looks at some kimono-clad women passing by. Dulice looks at a paper and says that if they didn’t make a mistake, they ought to reach the place where Edgar is residing soon. “Let me see.” Azalea just says okay and it really feels as if she had walked into a painting in an art gallery exhibit. She thinks that Edgar is also in that city. She remembers what he said to her that it is a dream city where East and West’s culture and way of thinking merged together. While Dulcie is looking around, she seems to have bumped into Azalea. Dulcie quickly apologizes. Azalea asks if she is alright and Dulcie should be careful because there are a lot of people there. Azalea suddenly feels something tugging her hair. She holds her hair and exclaims that it hurts. She wonders what happened. She turns around to see that her hair seems to have gotten entangled with a burly man’s fishing rod. Azalea exclaims for Dulcie to help her untangle it. The burly man is shouting something that they cannot understand. Dulcie is frantic since she doesn’t know how to talk to the man. She tries to say, “Ah, hey..me..merci?” [French word for sorry, please excuse according the the scanlation. Edit: Naz said it meant thank you. I also know it is thank you but I thought it could mean sorry, too. ^^; I'm not sure if Dulcie made a mistake with her French thinking of 'merci' as 'mercy' or it is the author's mistake.] The man kept on shouting at Azalea. Azalea holds on to her hair in pain as she wonders what to do for even if she is getting scolded, she doesn’t understand what the man is saying. Her hat then falls off.

Azalea is infuriated that she thinks that this would be over if she just cuts it off. She shouts to Dulcie to give her a pair of scissors. Dulcie freaks out over this. Azalea is surprised when a young man wearing glasses holds her hair and says that she’s really courageous but why does she have to use scissors. He tells her not to move for a moment. He then untangles her hair from the fishing hook. While the ladies at him, the burly man says something to the glasses man. The glasses man questioningly exclaims something to the burly man that made him nervously running off. The glasses man picks up her hat and notices that the ladies are looking at him. Holding out her hat to Azalea, the young man asks her where she plans to cut using the scissors. “Is it your hair? Or the man’s?” Taking her hat back, Azalea tells him that of course, her hair. Azalea wonders what’s up with this man. The man smiles and says that it would be truly a waste then [if she cuts her hair]. “But, if you reckless hold a pair of scissors, on the contrary, you might end up outsmarting yourself since you’ll end up just provoking the other party, so be careful.” The wind blows the man’s hair and Azalea notices that there is a scar on the man’s forehead. Azalea just says that she knows, she’ll pay attention to that and thank you for his help. Dulcie also tearfully exclaims her thanks. Azalea comments that even if that burly man is at fault, but half of the reason is because she wasn’t paying attention so such an incident happened. The glasses man laughs and says that it is really quite rare to see such a kind-hearted person. “That man deliberately did that. He would hook up clothes or perhaps hair as a pretext to extort someone. Touran’s harbor has a lot of that kind of people lately, who’ll prey on unknowing travelers like you who have more money than sense.” Azalea looks flustered and angry over this. The man takes the hat from her hand and puts it on her head. “Even if your hair became messy but compared to being pulled up prettily, like this, you won’t be targeted again.” To the man’s surprise, Azalea slaps away the hat and pulls her hair down with her fingers. She shouts, “Is it also the style in Touran for people to make fun of others who were deceived like this?!” The man holds up his hand apologizes and says that wasn’t his intention. Half-turning to leave, Azalea says, “Thank you for your advice. I won’t plan on experiencing again of being deceived or belittled again, so we will be careful.” Leaving her hat on the ground, Azalea starts to leave as she shouts for Dulcie that they are going. Dulcie tries to catch up as she shouts, “Miss Azalea.” The glasses man looks surprised and he mutters, “Azalea..?”

Azalea angrily complains as to what’s up with that man who kept on jabbering on and on. She pouts and looks embarrassed as she thinks that she obviously knows that she is infuriated that she was tricked. Dulcie happily tells her to quickly forget about the unhappy incident for they will soon see Young Master Edgar even if she has never seen him before. Azalea tells her that it is because Dulcie came to her house only two years ago. Dulcie asks her if it is okay to just plainly tie up her hair like that, since she can help her re-do her hairstyle. Azalea happily tells her that it is alright because Edgar does not pay attention to things like that. Flashback: Five years ago, crossing the seas to their place, Edgar is a kind ‘brother’ who is ten years older than Azalea. Edgar noticed that Azalea is doing something that he asked what she’s doing. He went to her and asked if she is cutting her hair by herself. Holding a pair of scissors with some strands of hair on the floor, Azalea tearfully told him that it is because her aunt told her that it’s very weird. “Even if it’s the same hairstyle, she would say that my hair is weirder than Emelyn’s. She would even ridicule me in front of everyone.” Edgar held her hair then took the scissors from her. He asked, “Isn’t it very good to be a bit strange? Because, if you’re not a bit strange, then you would be extremely cute.” Narration: “He obviously doesn’t have a position in our family and yet, he would still stretch out to lend a hand.” While Dulcie is looking at the directions on the paper, Azalea looks up a building and thinks that it is here. She knocks on the door and an Asian looking girl [seems to be a housekeeper] opens the door. Azalea is a bit puzzled. She apologizes and asks if Edgar Berufort is at home. The Asian girl shouts something. An Asian old man comes out and talks with the girl. Azalea thinks that she did get the right address. She is a bit surprised when the old man tells her that there is no Edgar living in that place. “Perhaps the landlord knows so I’ll help you inquire about it.” Later on, Azalea looks a bit sad as she wonders why she came to Touran. The landlord had told her, “Edgar Berufort, you say? He had already passed away, around the end of last year.” As the wind blows Azalea’s hair, she looks at Edgar’s grave. The church’s bells ring as Dulcie sadly calls out Azalea’s name. Scowling, Azalea thinks that Edgar is already dead. She picks up her suitcase and tells Dulcie that they are going since even if they look at the grave, nothing will happen. Dulcie tearfully cries over this. Azalea comforts her by saying that before they can buy the tickets for the ship, they have no way of leaving Touran so they should find a place to stay. Azalea thinks that she has to be a bit strong, else it would make Dulcie be at a loss as to what to do. She looks sad as she remembers Edgar telling her, “Keep this a secret from Emelyn. I’ve always thought that you, Azalea is more outstanding. *smiles* [You are] Both strong and kind.” As the ladies walk away, they didn’t see that the glasses man is watching over them as he stands with folded arms by a palm tree.

Narration: “It seems as if this city has lost its radiance just because Edgar is no longer here.” It is already night when the ladies walk around the streets. They then go to eat at a bar restaurant. Dulcie scowls as she looks suspiciously at the food and asks what it is. To her surprise, Azalea is eating huge mouthfuls of the food. Azalea tells her that she doesn’t know either but it should be very delicious. “It seems like fish.” Dulcie nervously takes a bite and to her surprise, it is indeed delicious. She happily tells Azalea that it is great and very delicious. Dulcie exclaims her delight over coming there with Azalea. Azalea smiles back at her. Azalea thinks that it’s also great that she has Dulcie with her. “My brain is working [again], after eating, we should find an inn. Then, we’ll see when the earliest ship is... Why-- didn’t I receive the news of his death?” She looks surprised upon remembering that she was told that Edgar died at the end of last year. While Azalea is in deep thought, Dulcie exclaims that she ate something spicy so she’ll go and buy a glass of water. Azalea continues to think, “I came here upon receiving his letter. If he died last year.. Why is it that I was still able to receive his letter this year? Could it be..Edgar is still alive--..?” She then snaps out of it when she hears a loud thump. Dulcie has fallen on the floor. Azalea calls out to Dulcie. A reddish-faced drunk man is holding a glass of wine wherein its contents is spilled on his shirt. The drunk man asks how Dulcie is going to compensate for it since his shirt is expensive. “How are you going to apologize, ladies.” Dulcie nervously says that he was the one who suddenly came from that side and bumped into her. A mustache man exclaims out loud that he saw it and it was the girl who bumped into the man. Azalea scowls for that man is the same man who was harassing a woman in the ship earlier. The mustache man just smiled at her direction. The drunk man says that is right and they should pay him one million. Pulling Dulcie behind her, Azalea exclaims that she refuses because it isn’t fair. Licking his lips with his tongue, the drunk man tells Azalea that if she accompanies him for one night then there’s no need to pay him the money. Azalea angrily shouts as to what kind of joke that is. The drunk man angrily shouts back as to who is the one who’s joking. “Give me one million. If you don’t want to, then, strip naked to apologize to me!” The other customers start to become rowdy as they shout that strip naked idea isn’t bad so why don’t she make them all happy, too. They start whistling and shouting for Azalea to strip. While Dulcie stand behind Azale and holding tight on her, Azalea looks angrily at the man and wonders what she should do.

Someone then drops some coins on the table and says, “I’ll compensate for it with three million.” The rowdy customers rush to the table exclaiming if he just said three million and those are gold coins. Before they can snatch it away, the young glasses man from earlier quickly grab it back. The glasses man says, “But, if you’ll just take it like that, then wouldn’t it be really boring.” The ladies look surprised as Azalea thinks, “It’s the man who has a scar.” [Hehe, I guess the scar is his distinguishing mark for her and not the glasses ^^;] Holding a pair of dice, the glasses man says, “Let us play addition throw dice. *looking at the angry drunk man* If it’s odd number then I’ll give you the three million. If it’s even number, then we’ll forget all about this dispute.” While everyone is looking at him, the glasses man takes a bell from the table and tosses in the dice inside. “This is such a lively feast, so if it’s just an indignant dispute then it’s too boring.” He slams the bell on the table that contains the dices. Smiling, he looks at them and says, “You only have on chance. How about it, would you dare gamble with me?” Azalea tries to protest but the other customers are shouting that it is interesting and the drunk man should gamble. The drunk man finally agrees to play this gamble. Everyone is shouting about the three million. Standing behind the glasses man, Azalea angrily tells him to wait and who told him to do this on his own. The glasses man turns to her and says, “Just depending on courage won’t be enough to resolve this problem. I won’t harm [/cause trouble to] you.” While the people are shouting, ‘even number’, Azalea quietly thinks, “Even if it seems like he’s quibbling, but in this city where I don’t know which direction [/anything] goes, and I’ve also already staked my life on it.” The glasses man holds the bell and says, “The time to know the outcome has arrived!” Dulcie closed her eyes and prays. The drunk man and the others look at the bell with anticipation. With knitted brows, Azalea looks a bit tense. Glasses man lifts up the bell. Dulcie takes a peak. It is a 1 and a 3 so the total is a four. Dulcie happily rejoices over this. The drunk man and others look disappointed. The mustache man angrily goes back to drinking. While Dulcie happily hugs Azalea, Azalea just sighs in relief and looks thoughtful.

At the esplanade, Azalea looks out to the ships as the night wind blows her hair. The glasses man says, “Perhaps, it will make you unhappy but then, I’ll still give you an advice. It is very dangerous for ladies to move [/walk] around at night.” Azalea didn’t answer him. Dulcie looks really timid and flustered. She decides to break the ice by thanking the young man for his help a while ago and at the start, she is really worried what would happen. She told him that it’s really great that the outcome is an even number. While giving Dulcie the dices, the man tells her to look closely at them. Dulcie exclaims that in one dice, there are two 1s and 3s. The man explains to her that all of the faces of the dices are odd numbers. Each dice has two 1s, 3s and 5s. So, if one is to add two ‘odd numbered’ dices, it will certainly be an even number. “It won’t be exposed if at the same time, one doesn’t let the others see those sides of the dices. That gambling match just now is actually a sure win.” Returning the dices, Dulcie says, “Is that so~~~ that’s good, though I’m still nervous.” The man tells her to pay attention in order not to always be deceived. Without turning around, Azalea asks, “It’s a swindle, right? It’s really despicable.” The other two just look at her. Azalea wonders if this is Touran, the dream city that Edgar longed for. The man smiles and says, “Compared to that drunkard, it’s unreasonable for you to say that.” Dulcie feels ill that she drops the suitcase she is carrying. Azalea quickly turns to Dulcie who is bending down the ground and goes to her side. Dulcie apologizes to Azalea and says that since things have loosen up, she felt that her whole body has relaxed [/lose strength]. The man also bends down with the ladies and asks if she’s too tired. Azalea sadly looks at Dulcie and mentally says ‘good work’ to her.

The man holds out his hand and offers them to go to his house. “It will be quite hard [for you] to go looking for an inn again.” Azalea slaps away his hand and shouts for him not to touch her. “She will be alright if she only just rest a bit.” The man sighs and tells her that this isn’t the time to act rashly just because she was slighted. Azalea angrily that she isn’t acting rashly because she was slighted. Looking at him, she exclaims, “You..and also Touran, what do you have to deserve my trust?! (Experiences in Touran are too shocking in this way that it’s simply like a nightmare.) Extortion, lies, swindle, that one has to be careful with one’s life just by talking with someone!” To her shock, the man takes out a gun from his coat and holds the gun to her with the muzzle pointing at him. He tells her, “Then, I’ll also..bet my life on you. If you think that I’m going to harm you then use this to kill me. I know that you currently cannot trust me. You also shouldn’t trust me. *putting the gun in Azalea’s hands and pointing it to himself* But, do you still have any other things that you can trust? I won’t use a sure win gambling match with you. Don’t you want to go gamble with me?” While looking at the young man whose scar is revealed again by the wind, Azalea thinks, “A lot of things have happened...in this short period of time, my brain won’t function. Accept or refuse, in this city where nothing is certain...” Azalea lowers the gun. The man stands up and pats away the dirt from his pants. Azalea asks, “Who are you?” Narration: “The only one thing that I’m certain of..” The man smiles at her and says, “I’m Auguste Carlisle. I came from the country where you are from. A long time ago, I had already met you once. You shouldn’t be able to remember it because at that time, you were still a young child. Miss Azalea Bracknell.” Azalea looks at him and takes his hand which he offered to help her stand up. Narration: “is the name that this man called-- is certainly mine.”

I think this is a different type of shoujo and it looks promising. Actually, it makes me think that it is some sort of old romance movie. The plot is intriguing and the characters are interesting. Azalea seems to be ahead of her time since she’s feisty and adventurous. She doesn’t cower easily yet, it might just make others be provoked by her attitude especially by men who probably thinks that ladies should be timid and easily intimidated. I think she is a strong lady thanks to Edgar. He helped her gain some self-confidence because her strong personality and looks were looked down by her dominating aunt. I also think that it is because of this, she isn’t bitter towards her sister especially being always compared to her. I do think that it is a nice change to have a character like Azalea since in most shoujo, it would be her sister Emelyn who would have been the lead. Well, it does seem that she isn’t really rendered important to her family that they agreed to let her go to that foreign place with only a timid girl to accompany her. Maybe they think that she will be fine because Edgar is there. So, is Edgar really dead or not? If he is dead, who wrote that letter to Azalea? If he isn’t, why did he have to pretend to be dead and what’s the purpose of asking Azalea to come? It does seem that the answer to those questions might be through Auguste. Auguste knows the tricks and rackets in that place. It makes me think that it takes one to know one. That is probably the reason why he had that scar on his forehead. Since he has a gun, it makes me wonder if he is some sort of criminal or police officer type. At first, I was wondering what the odds are that Auguste is actually Edgar in disguise but it is unlikely. Since he claims to have met Azalea before, I’m guessing that he is Edgar’s friend or companion during travels type of person. Based on Auguste’s knowledge of the dark side of Touran, I wonder if being associated with him, Edgar got into trouble or something. Whatever it is, my hunch that it has something to do/related with Auguste. Anyway, I’m curious where the story is heading. I don’t think that Azalea would leave soon since she will probably investigate about Edgar’s letter and if he’s really dead. Auguste might stick around to teach her the ins and outs of the town. One thing for sure, this trip is really an eye-opener for Azalea that in dream cities, there is that dark side and it might probably be a life-changing experience for her. Scans by玉/wdsjznl for BW.

Free Talk: Series' Reaction and Help
    Sunday, October 31, 2010

Hehe..I wasn’t feeling well the past few days so there’s not much summaries or rather, I couldn’t finish them right away. I have just read the latest Bleach, why does it seem like the author is ‘re-starting’ everything especially since everything is like what it was in chapter 1. Hehe, got carried away with all that Aizen stuff, perhaps? Well, the Chinese scanlation for Mishounen Produce 15 is out and I like it. ^^ Of course, it’s because I’m a Tomoe Masaki fan. Being a clever and manipulative guy, he delivers. Hehe, he got what he wanted and he won this round. It is also partly thanks to Kosei who desperately try to keep Kako ‘hidden’ that he hurt her feelings. It really does seem that Masaki is going to help Kako with her confidence by introducing her in showbiz as an ‘artist’. ^^ I wonder how Kosei is going to repair the damage. Scans by 離境漢化組. Ankemaybe is the one doing this series so wait for her summary.

Help: I’m doing a new series but the names are in Chinese. For these two names, can you give me an English name of European origin which pretty much sounds like it. Thanks in advance ^^

    1. 奥卡斯特 = ao∙ka/qia∙si∙te. My guess is Ocastelle. Is there such a name? Or how about Ocasite? This is a guy’s name.
    2. 巴托莉希亚 = ba∙tuo∙li∙xi∙ya. My guess is Bartolucci. That ‘ba’ could be a ‘pa’ so maybe it’s Partolucia. This is a woman’s name.

Thanks to Mopp and Sheep for the help ^^

    Stardust★Wink [Chapter 22]
    Sunday, October 31, 2010

Narration: “From the start, two parts of my heart has always been fighting.” An infuriated Anna shouts, “What the-- I've already apologized so many times so you shouldn’t be having that kind of attitude anymore, right?! Geez, I don’t know anymore. I’m going home!!” The other Anna holds back infuriated Anna who is shouting for the other to let her go. The other exclaims, “You cannot not! Let me tell you again, from the very start, I’m the one who hurt Sou, right?! In order for us to make up, I should express more sincerity.” Infuriated Anna shouts, “Other than apologizing, what else is there to express sincerity?!” The other Anna shouts back, “That’s right but on the other hand, I cannot be angry!!” Narration: “I’m almost already at my limit.” At the theater, Sou tells the others that it is at theater 4 and they still have some time before it starts. “Do you guys want something to drink? I’ll go buy it. Ayane, what do you want to drink?” Anna sweatdrops because in the end, they are indeed going to watch a Pokemon movie. Aya says that she wants iced tea. She asks what Hinata wants. Hinata tells her that he’ll check the menu before deciding since he doesn’t know what is available. Aya then asks what about Anna. Surprised, Anna says, “Ah-that, I want..” Sou turns around and says, “There’s no need for that person at the side.” The girls look gloomy as Sou walks away while Hinata follows him while looking at the girls. Anna thinks, “What.. Even if I’m the one who’s wrong but that attitude.. That kind of attitude..” Aya is surprised to see that Anna is already crying. While wiping her eyes, Anna thinks, “It’s already enough. I do not know what I ought to do anymore. Even if I had become a high school student, I still haven’t totally changed. I’m still the same as one year ago. I cannot immediately see the surroundings [/things] clearly then after I’ve done it, is only the time when I would regret it. Sou already hates [me]. This time, I’m really hated by him.” Aya thinks that it isn’t good for Anna to be there so she quickly leads Anna to the toilet. Hinata is watching them..seems a bit concerned with Anna.

In the toilet, Aya lends her mascara to Anna since Anna’s has already smeared. Anna thanks her. While blushing really red from embarrassment, Anna wonders why she cried. Aya sighs and comments that it is really difficult when Sou is bullying the person he likes especially since from the start, Sou obviously likes Anna from the bottom of his heart. “Until now, I can still remember it. What he told me after I’ve confessed.” Flashback: In school, Sou looked away while telling Aya, “I also feel that it is good if I can like you. Right now, even if I like someone else, if that is okay with you, I will do my best in making you first place [in my heart].” Aya asked him what about the person he likes. Sou told her, “I don’t plan on telling that person. I won’t, throughout my life.” End flashback. Aya tells Anna, “At first, I was thinking, ‘I’m going to do my best in order for me to be the one whom he’ll love most’ but on the way there, I’ve given up. Because all of Sou’s actions feels like it’s connected to his ‘I’ll always stay by Anna’s side’ feelings. He’s afraid of ruining things that it is why he couldn’t say it. Sou really likes you, Anna.” Soon, the girls go back to where the guys who were holding their drinks. Sou angrily complains what took them so long in the toilet. He then gives apologetic Aya her drink. Sou says that they can go in the theater now. Anna looks drained-tired. To her surprise, Hinata gives her a drink. Anna thanks him and asks if he is the one who bought it for her. Hinata tells her that it wasn’t him, he wasn’t the one who bought it. He then points to the direction of Sou. Anna looks surprised over this as she looks at Sou and Aya who are walking ahead. Aya asks Sou if he would buy advance tickets every time. Sou tells her that he would only do it for Pokemon.

In the theater, the dialogue is, “Pikachu, use 10,000 volts!!” “Pi--ka" Whoever is zapped scream, “Ahahaha--” The foursome who were watching are sitting in this order from right to left: Hinata, Sou, Aya and Anna. Anna takes a sip from her drink. She looks surprised that it is Calpis [Japanese uncarbonated soft drink (source: wiki)]. She wonders how Sou knew that is what she wanted to drink. She sadly thinks that the way Sou said it was as if he won’t help her in buying a drink. “He looks as if he’ll easily get angry. During critical [/important] times, I don’t know what he is thinking about. Sou really.. Sou, he..” Anna remembers all the times the times she’s with Sou when he always cheer her up, etc. Anna sadly closes her eyes and thinks, “I should properly apologize again one more time.” After the movie ended, Anna calls out to Sou. While still holding the plastic cup, Anna says, “That..about this..thank you for the Calpis... (Ah, what is this. After becoming serious, my voice is very strange. What’s up with me..) About..that.. *teary-eyed* I’m really sorry..” Sou scowls with that expression of ‘cannot bear Anna looking like that’. To Anna’s surprise, Sou takes the plastic cup from her and shouts for her not to cry and after drinking it, she should throw it away. “It’s already – enough. I just viciously bully you a bit to release my temper. And if we quarrel, I would get scolded by Hinata again.” He looks at the plastic cup then sighs. Sou looks at Anna and says, “Hinata said that he’ll come back on GW.” [GW = Golden Week from April 29th to May 5th.] Anna looks surprised by this. She brightens up and exclaims, “Is it true?” Sou says that it is. She asks, “Isn’t GW your birthday!!” Sou says ya. Anna exclaims that’s great and she’s really happy about it. Sou tells her that her mascara is running. Anna quickly runs off to the toilet to wash it off. Aya looks happy about this while Hinata’s expression isn’t shown. Aya happily tells Sou that it’s great that they had made up. She then looks surprised when Sou looks downcast.

In the toilet, Anna washes her eyes in the sink and thinks that she should have used water-proof mascara. She then hears someone shouting that there is no toilet paper in the cubicle that she is in, so can the person outside please throw her a toilet paper. Anna exclaims okay as she frantically thinks that this is a big deal and where would she get a toilet paper. She then thinks that she can just use the toilet paper in the other cubicle. Anna calls for the girl to wait then tells the girl that she’s going to throw in the toilet paper inside. The girl apologizes for the trouble. Soon, the toilet is flushed and the girl comes out exclaiming her thanks to Anna for if there is no one there then it’s really tragic. Anna looks surprised at the girl because it is Nanoka. Nanoka’s eyes widen in shock upon seeing that it is Anna. She quickly puts on her hat and glasses. Pointing at Nanoka, Anna exclaims that she is wearing glasses and a hat so could it be that Nanoka is putting on a disguise. “Were you always been following us?!” Nanoka looks tense as she is caught. Holding down her hat, Nanoka tensely says that it is because Aya said that she will really go out on a date with Nagase-chan. “If those two really become like how they were before then what should I do. I’m so worried that I cannot sit still ~~~~(cry) I don’t want that. Wah.. And, Aya-chan treated me quite coldly from then on. I had simply dug my own grave. Anna, you’re also angry at me, right..*teary-eyed* I’m sorry. I’m really sorry.” Anna thinks that Nanoka isn’t really good nor bad at all. She’s really straight-forward, bull-headed, act willfully and cause trouble, and at times, one cannot keep up with her. “But why is it that I cannot bring myself to hate her.” Anna smiles and says that it is okay since she has already made up with Sou. Nanoka happily exclaims Anna’s name. Anna says that but it seems that she has been forgiven about that lie. [<- not too sure on this] Nanoka happily says ya. Nanoka happily does a pinkie promise with Anna wherein if someone lies, one’s tongue will be prick by needles. Anna tells her that right now, Sou and Aya are there so Nanoka ought to go and apologize so that everything will be okay. Anna is surprised when Nanoka screams in horror. She tensely says that she cannot do it because this is the first time that Aya got angry and Aya will absolutely not forgive her. Anna tries to protest but Nanoka tells her that she knows why she hates Sou and it is good intention that turned into malice. “Aya-chan won’t depend on me anymore. About Aya-chan, her parents’ relationship isn’t that good. Before, I would always hear the sounds of quarrelling from Aya-chan’s place. I would also hear Aya-chan crying.”

Flashback: Aya apologized to Nanoka for always disturbing the neighborhood. Nanoka told her that it doesn’t matter to her since she’s used to it. End flashback. “Towards anyone, Aya doesn’t say anything about it but Nagase-kun is different.” Flashback: In the classroom, Sou asked if it is starting from today on but even if it is okay but then, it’s already past 8 o’clock. “Don’t you want to go home?” Aya told him that it is okay for she doesn’t want to stay at home. “We can go anywhere, just bring me along.” Nanoka looked surprised at the two talking. End flashback. Nanoka tearfully tells Anna that is why she’s so frustrated and envious of Sou. “I also had a deep hate towards him. He’s so cunning.” Anna just says is that so. Nanoka is shock when Anna asks her that shouldn’t she be telling that to Aya. Nanoka exclaims won’t that be troublesome. Anna sheepishly smiles and asks, “Would it? If like this you would tell me how valued I am then I’ll really feel happy about it.” Soon, the other three look surprised to see Nanoka standing timidly behind Anna. Aya exclaims Nanoka’s name. Anna nervously tells them that she met Nanoka at the toilet and just now, it seems that she has something that she wants to tell Aya and Sou. Nanoka looks tense then she says, “That..that time.. *bows to them* I selfishly acted and caused trouble to everyone. I’m truly and very sorry!!” Anna smiles over this. Aya is touched while Hinata looks weird out. A note seems to say that is how they are moved by their childhood friend’s apology. To Nanoka’s shock, Sou comments that it is really troublesome. “But, I don’t hate someone like who whose preference is really obvious.” [<- I think if it is obvious if Nanoka likes or hates a person.] Still shock, Nanoka mutters her thanks. Aya remembers Nanoka’s outburst that she doesn’t tell Nanoka anything. Aya then apologizes to Nanoka, too. She smiles and says, “Let’s go. There are still a lot of things that I want to tell you.” Nanoka happily smiles and says okay. The three childhood friends bid the two their goodbyes and see them tomorrow. While walking home, Anna exclaims her relief that incident is finally over. While Sou looks somewhat downcast-thoughtful, Anna exclaims that Hinata is calling. “Moshi-moshi--” [<- Hello] While on her cellphone, Anna tensely says, “Ah, ya..it is as you thought, I had a fight with Sou at that time but we have already made up. *happy* I’ll wait for you on GW.” Flashback: Aya tensely asked Sou why he had that kind of scary expression since obviously, it wasn’t easy for them to make up. Sou replied, “It is okay for things to be TEMPORARILY like this. For the time being, before Hinata comes back, I’ll properly get along [with her].”

And, they finally made up with each other and this arc is over but of course, what Sou told Aya can really bother anyone. What does he mean temporarily? Some people think that he meant that if Hinata comes back, Sou would be the one who’s leaving. I’m wondering if he meant Hinata coming back on GW or coming back permanently after high school. It doesn’t seem that Sou has totally given up on Anna. I do feel sorry for him to have such an unrequited love for so long. I’m wondering if it is good that he confessed rather than for him to always suffer silently when Anna unintentionally hurt his feelings. Okay, it must have hurt more that she knows yet she kept on hurting his feelings ^^; At the end of this chapter, she is still doing it like how happy she is upon learning that Hinata is coming and it does seem that she didn’t notice that Sou is looking down on their way home. Well, I guess it is because Anna is a spontaneous girl who immediately reacts on things, who cannot hide her feelings and short-sighted. =P She is a happy go lucky. I do wonder if she and Sou cannot hate Nanoka because Nanoka is quite similar with Anna in some ways on how they tend to mess things up and they are quite immature. Sou and Aya have similarities, too including some issue with their parents. Sou’s parents are not there while Aya’s are there but always quarreling. It makes me wonder if the two Hinata also have their own similarities..like the most mature of them all? Well, they do seem to be the sleepy types =P Even if they are quarreling, Sou still knows how to pamper Anna and he really does know her inside and out. Strangely enough, they also have a high chance of quarrelling. I wonder if Sou does leave, Anna would then suddenly realize how much she has taken Sou for granted. Hm..would it even go to the point that she actually loves him? For him to bully her like that, I guess it is a way to keep him on her mind even if it’s for a short time. Even if it would really hurt him, he couldn’t bear to see Anna crying that he would cheer her up by telling her that Hinata will be coming for on GW. It is really obvious that the two guys are really close with each other. I wonder if they have some sort of agreement wherein one of them has to be always with Anna or at least one of them would end up with Anna. =P Hm..it really does seem that Sou fears Hinata. ^^; It goes to show that one shouldn’t judge one’s appearances. Well, this arc did help introduce Hinata with Anna so I’m curious how the author will progress things and what will happen on GW. Scans by karen870509 for All★Wink漢化組

    Barajou no Kiss [Chapter 27]
    Wednesday, October 27, 2010

Punishment 27: Wuthering Heights. [<- not sure but it is 嵐之丘 in Chinese which is what it meant. Literally, it means Storm/mist’s hill. I’m not sure if it is a play on words since the ‘storm’ kanji is part of Seiran’s name.] While shouting that he won’t let Seiran get the card especially since water is his forte, Shiden attacks surprised Seiran. Anis shouts for Seiran. Before Seiran can get hurt, Anis has whisked him to safety by kissing Seiran’s Rose card. Seiran looks back as Anis smiles and says that he’s saved by a hair's breadth. Seiran exclaims why she is there. Holding her hands together, Anis apologizes for following him because she’s worried about him. Seiran is dismayed upon learning that since it implies that he’s an existence who causes Anis to worry. Holding her other Rose cards, Anis says that she didn’t expect the enemy to come out so she’ll call Kaede and the others. A splash of water made Anis drop the cards. Shiden tells her that he won’t let her call their other comrades. While Anis is picking her cards up, Seiran shouts for Anis to go to some place safe. Confronting Shiden while taking something from his coat, Seiran tells her that the opponent is only one fake knight and even if he’s alone, it ought to be alright. Seiran takes out his potions in test tubes and thinks that in any case, he is one of the Rose knights. Seiran throws the tubes at Shiden who destroys them using his water. Shidan scoffs off at Seiran’s attacks to be only up to that degree yet Seiran would think of him as his opponent. Seiran asks isn’t his field of expertise is using water then with his potions, he is going to make them ineffective. Shidan is surprised when Seiran made his water disappear. Angered, Shidan says that he’ll see up to when Seiran can keep on doing that. Seiran is surprised that Shidan is going to use all of the water in the swimming pool but for Anis, he decided not to lose to the enemy. Seiran lost his concentration when he sees the Arcana card floating from the swimming pool. He thinks that if he gets that card, he can be considered as a Rose knight who is doing his task. So, Seiran goes to get the card. Shidan comments that Seiran is too naive. He uses his water to attack Seiran who managed to get the card. Seiran becomes aware of the water pursuing him when Anis shouts his name. To his shock, Anis tries to protect him by placing herself in between the water and Seiran hence, Anis is the one who got hit. Seiran seems to have dropped the card as he shouts for Anis.

Later on, Anis wakes up. She wonders where she is. Someone asks her if she is already awake. While Mitsuru is asking if she’s in pain anywhere, Anis sees Mitsuru’s face right in front of her own. On instinct, Anis immediately gives him a headbutt. Holding his head, somewhat dizzy Mitsuru comments that there is a super nova in his head. In a bad mood, Anis says that the person who likes to exaggerate about beauty is not allowed to stay close to her. She is surprised when Mutsuki pushes her down on the bed and tells her not to move recklessly. “It seems that Mitsuru’s ‘magic’ is a success.” At first, Anis is disoriented about what this magic of Mitsuru that Mutsuki is talking about, and then she remembers that they met an enemy by the swimming pool. Kaede, who is standing by the canopy bed, says that by the time he arrived, it is already too late. “I’m sorry for causing you to be injured..” He tells her that the Violet Rose just retreated like that and in the end, they weren’t able to get the Arcana card. Anis suddenly exclaims about the cards. Mitsuru says that if she is talking about the Rose cards then he had helped her in carefully collecting them. He gives the cards to very eager Anis. Anis spreads out the cards and happily tells them to look at the cards. They are surprised upon seeing the Arcana card is in between the cards. Anis proudly says that even if a lot of blood is flowing out from her, she still cannot just let not that Arcana card get away from her. “Fourth card GET!!” Mitsuru wonders if he should say it is Anis is a model Dominion or.. Kaede sweatdrops and says, “You..” Anis says that it is all thanks to Seiran. She then notices that Seiran is not around. They tell her that Seiran is sleeping in the other room. Anis exclaims if Seiran is also injured. Kaede didn’t reply as he just looks at the side. Anis says that she’ll go and see Seiran. While Mitsuru and Mutsuki hold defiant Anis down on the bed, Mitsuru says that she cannot. “Even if the ‘magic’ has been successful, but still, you received serious injuries-- so you should quietly..” Anis scowls then kisses the cards. A rose vine restrain the knights. Anis smiles and says, “See! Doesn’t that mean that I’m alright?”

Dressed up in her uniform, Anis heads to the other room. She is surprised upon seeing Seiran heavily bandaged and is hooked up on some respiration and other medical machines. Anis wonders why it turned out like that. Looking away, Kaede says that in order to heal her, Seiran substituted for her. Flashback: Unconscious and bloodied Anis is breathing hard while lying down on what seems to be like an operating table. Seiran cried in anguish beside her as he blamed himself that Anis became like that because of him. He held on to Mitsuru and asked him to please heal Anis. Mitsuru told him that the ‘Dominion’ had attained life-threatening injuries so how could he use a magic wherein one needs to use her blood. Except for that, they can only depend on medical equipment to treat her. Seiran answered that he knows that the White Rose ought to be able to use the ‘magic of exchange’. “Please transfer all of Miss Anis’ injuries onto me.” Mitsuru looked at him and told him that it isn’t just a simple transfer of Anis’ injuries on to him for along with it, Seiran will experience a thousand times of pain compared to the original injuries. “If your willpower is not enough, there’s a chance that you’ll die.” Looking serious with his eyes really clear, Seiran tells Mitsuru that it doesn’t matter. End flashback. Anis is flustered upon learning this that she exclaims why Seiran did such a dangerous thing. Seiran wakes up and calls her name. Seiran removes his gas mask and says that it’s great to see Anis looking quite lively. Anis asks him again as to why he did that thing. Seiran smiles and tells her that he is okay with it since he is just a man-made human. “I’m not the same..with really important Miss Anis..because I can be REPLACED...” Everyone is surprised when Anis shouts that she really hates that. She shouts that she really hates people who say except for Seiran, there won’t be a second Seiran. “I, feel that Seiran is very important..! I won’t deny this kind of feeling..” She thinks that if she doesn’t cherish herself then, her [feeling of] ‘cherish’ cannot be conveyed to the other. While thinking that no one can replace Seiran, teary-eyed and flustered Anis exclaims, “You are my Blue Rose Knight--!!”

Seiran looks flustered as he mutters Anis’ name. While his injuries are gradually disappearing, Seiran thinks that he was mistaken again. He doesn’t want to be left behind by the others nor do not want to become alone. He has no confidence that he wants to run away from himself who is like that. The sound of these feelings is blocking his ears that he made himself become alone by isolating himself. Seiran calls out to Anis and apologizes to her. Seiran thinks that Anis has made him realize that if he doesn’t love himself, he won’t be able to love others. Seiran says, “I am your Blue Rose Knight. My soul and my body, (pain, love and as well as my everything) I once again vow my loyalty and devotion to you, the one whom I really like..Miss Anis..” And that is the Blue Rose’s first awakening. After looking surprised, Anis smiles and tells him that she also really likes him. She rubs his nose with her finger and tells him, “So, you cannot just do as you please and do reckless things! This is a command ☆” Seiran smiles back and says yes. He thinks that even if the ‘like/love’ between him and Anis doesn’t seem to be the same but even so, he is satisfied just by seeing the world’s most amazing smile. While the two are talking, Mitsuru comments that the transferred injuries are completely healed and the Blue Rose has also awakened. Mutsuki asks Mitsuru that didn’t he [Mitsuru] fundamentally used that unconventional magic in order to make Seiran attain the identity of being [/be recognized as] a Rose Knight. Mitsuru smiles and says that if Seiran cannot endure it up to that degree then the future would be very worrisome. Then, Mitsuru leaves the room. Kaede looks thoughtful and thinks, “..I’m--the last one....” The scene changes to a room. Idel opens the curtains and greets Yakoh a good morning. He asks Yakoh if he would want to go to school before they go to work today. Since Yakoh doesn’t look well, Idel goes to him and asks if he is alright. While sitting on the bed, Yakoh holds his head and says that he feels very sleepy. He smile then apologizes to Idel for always causing him trouble. Idel laughs it off and calls him stupid for what is he talking about trouble when the two of them.. Yakoh says, “Ah..Idel..until today..I’m really grateful..to you...” To Idel’s surprise, Yakoh falls unconscious on the bed. Narration: “From that day on, early morning won’t descend to this world again.”

I’m somewhat confused as to what new power Seiran attained from the awakening. I’m guessing that since he is originally intended to be a ‘sacrifice’, he would be like the one who’ll always bear the blunt of Anis’ future injuries but then, I don’t think Anis would let him do that. Even if he can heal himself, there is still the pain that goes with the transfer of injuries. Well, probably in each awakening, it could mean that the knight and Dominion becomes close to each other or a new power. I find Anis really cute in a way that even in the verge of death, she would still grab that card =P It really does seem that Mutsuki really knows Mitsuru and from what Mutsuki is implying, I kind of have a feeling that Mitsuru is ‘controlling’ them and he does seem to be very calculative. Will he help Kaede in achieving his awakening like he did with the other two? I wonder what his real motives are. Hm..I guess it will be Kaede’s turn soon..and it does seem to be related to those singers but I hope that the author would do a bit of twist here like make Kaede jump to the second awakening or make someone else go to their second awakening. This way, it would make the other feel pressured and probably do something drastic. =P

    Mei-chan no Shitsuji [Chapters 88-89]
    Tuesday, October 26, 2010

In the Moon dorm, Fujiko pulls up the blanket on to a sleeping student. She then thinks that it’s good that everyone has finally fallen asleep. Fujiko also thinks that she doesn’t know if Nezu is okay or not but then, she has to get out of there in order to get in touch with him. She peeks out the door and sees that there are 5 uniformed men outside. She thinks that it is a bit lot but she ought to be able to handle them. She is surprised when a uniformed man appeared behind her and calls out to her as a maid [since she is wearing a maid uniform] to ask her what she is doing there. While she wonders when that person appeared there, Fujiko quickly says that she couldn’t sleep. The uniformed man orders her to bring some coffee to the others. She sweatdrops but she says okay. While carrying the tray of coffee, the man says, “Don’t drink it, Fujiko.” Fujiko goes out and calls to the other uniformed men if they want to drink some coffee. One of the men says, of course but the other guy hits him on the head and says that they are ordered not to. Then, they notice that other uniformed man whom Fujiko talked with earlier. They ask who he is and as to what group he belongs to. The man couldn’t answer. Fujiko screams to get the attention of the five uniformed men. She gives them a wink while putting a really cutie-cutie pose. She tells them that it’s just a joke ♡ The first uniformed man tells them that it would have been better if they just drank the coffee and fall asleep. He proceeds to beat up the five guys. Then, another uniformed man appears and asks what happened. The first uniformed man is surprised that there is still one more. Fujiko quickly takes out a gun that is tied on her leg and fires a paint bullet on the new guy. It was a direct hit on the helmet. The first uniformed man then chokes the other man unconscious so that they won’t be exposed. He removes his helmet and asks Fujiko where she got that dangerous toy – bullet shaped like a lipstick. Fujiko happily hugs the guy and says that of course, it is he, Nezu who gave it to her as a birthday gift. Fujiko tells him that she was really scared. Nezu apologizes for not saving her sooner. Fujiko becomes surprised when she hears some noise. It turns out to be Izumi and Daimon who were glad to see that Fujiko is alright. Fujiko exclaims that they came. Izumi informs her that it is thanks to Nezu’s guidance. Izumi asks about the other students. Fujiko tells her that they are all okay and are currently asleep now. Nezu asks Daimon if they still haven’t found Miruku. Daimon sadly says no. Fujiko asks what’s going on. Izumi goes to explain it to her.

While running outside the building, Fujiko exclaims in disbelief that this disturbance is because of a duel against Tou but then, that guy looks really sincere. Fujiko is surprised when Izumi tells her that he is the son of Prime Minister Toujou. Izumi angrily comments that the people from that family are really detestable. Nezu tells Fujiko that they will win just by finding the room where Miruku and Kiba are kept and the condition is only the ojousama-s should do the rescuing. The scary part is over and even if they got the butler students and the butlers in looking for the two, they still couldn’t find them. Daimon looks dismayed over this. They meet up with Claris, together with Leon and Aoyama, who informs them that they cannot find the two either. Aoyama cries as he says that he couldn’t find Rika, too. They wonder what to do since there are only 30 minutes left. Someone tells them that this isn’t the time to just stand around and be lost in thought. The Shibata brothers have arrived. Claris asks Kento if he isn’t with Mei. Kento sadly says yes. She then asks him if he is alright since he looks awful. Aoyama starts narrating the places where they went to yet they weren’t able to find the two hostages. To everyone’s surprise, Fujiko asks them if they searched at the Shadow dorm. From their expressions, it is obvious that they didn’t search there. It seems that there are only two students who stayed in that place where light couldn’t reach it, the Shadow dorm. Looking out the window from what seems to be Mei’s room, Shinnosuke says that this is the reason why he chose that place and he never thought that no one really came there to look so it won’t be long and he’ll win the duel. Shinnosuke notices that Kiba just looks at him silently. Shinnosuke asks Kiba if he is angry because he did this but then, one day, he and Izumi would thank him for this. They would understand why he did this. Shinnosuke is somewhat irked when Kiba just closed his eyes and didn’t answer him. He holds Kiba’s shoulder and shouts why he won’t look at him straight. He is puzzled-surprised when Kiba sadly asks him if he can see it. Kiba timidly says, “Just now, you also started to grow out..Gyuumaoh’s horns.” Shinnosuke looks at the mirror and to his horror, he looks like a demon with horns growing on top of his head.

He is interrupted when his cellphone starts ringing. Shinnosuke answers the phone. One of his men reports to him that some unknown [<- don’t know if or if not] ojousama-s are going towards their direction. The man then got kicked unconscious by Tami who is with Kanzaki. Leon sweatdrops when Claris angrily shouts at Tami that one is her prey. Fujiko says that a lot of guards are around the Shadow dorm so it’s most probable that the two hostages are there. While Kento is punching a soldier away, he urges everyone to hurry for they have only ten minutes left. Someone asks why the butlers are there. It is Shinnosuke. He tells them that he did told them that he won’t guarantee everyone’s safety if the butlers are also there. Nezu muses that the final boss has arrived. Fujiko tells Shinnosuke that it is okay if he won’t guarantee it because the ojousama-s and the nuns are all protected by the butlers. Shinnosuke tells them that he won’t allow them to advance further. Daimon tells everyone that he’ll deal with Shinnosuke and they should all hurry and save Miruku. To Shinnosuke’s surprise, Izumi says, “No, Daimon, This man..Toujou, please let me be the one to beat him up..” While holding one bokken [Japanese wooden sword like what Gin uses in Gintama], Izumi throws the other one on the ground and tells Shinnosuke to grab that sword. Shinnosuke looks surprised when Izumi shouts that it is because of his greed that he won’t choose any [ethical] method and, at first they targeted her family and then, it’s the Hongo family. Right now, it is her beloved St. Lucia Academy. “You of Toujou clan, is really dirty and really despicable!” Shinnosuke remembers Kiba telling him that he grew horns. Izumi angrily says, “And..you actually dare [to do that] to my very important Kiba..” Shinnosuke just looks sad. Izumi angrily shouts for him to pick up the sword so that she can peel his despicable skin off.

After a long pause, Shinnosuke bends to get the sword but someone shouts for him not to get it. The surprised Shibata brothers look at the direction of the voice. Shinnosuke and Izumi also look surprised. It turns out to be Mei who is breathing hard from running. She tells Shinnosuke, “If you take that sword now, if you raise that sword against Izumi..then that Shin-chan..won’t be Shin-chan anymore.” Shinnosuke looks surprised at Mei. The Shibata brothers call out to Mei. Mei happily calls out to Rihito and exclaims that she’s glad that Kento is alright. Kento angrily asks Mei why he is calling Tou as Shin-chan as if they are quite close to each other. Mei just tells him that Kanata called. Aoyama tells the others that there is only five minutes left so they should hurry. Before they can go, Mei shouts, “Wait--! I won’t let you guys pass through here!” Surprised Shibata brothers ask, “What?” while the rest sweatdrops. And so, the final boss, Hongo Mei has come onstage. Mei shouts, “If you want to pass through here then you’ll have to do it over my dead body!” [<- I think she just wants to say that =P since Fujiko seems to be saying that they won’t go that far.] Izumi calls out her name in surprise. Kento shouts what kind of things is Mei saying for she should know that if she loses then she would have to marry that man [Shinnosuke] and even if it is so..is it really alright for her to marry Shinnosuke. He is surprised when Rihito says that for Mei to act arbitrarily can cause trouble to others. He asks Mei if ‘this thing’ is currently an ‘important thing’ for her. Mei exclaims that it is. Rihito says, “Then..I’m going to be with you on this.” Rihito stands by Mei and starts cracking his knuckles. Kento looks left and right as he sees everyone else starts backing away. Fujiko and Nezu says that this iss after all, Mei’s duel so it’s okay if Mei is the one who decides on it. Daimon sweatdrops and says that Miruku is not in imminent danger. Aoyama says that for them, as long as the hostages are safe then it’s okay with them. Claris says that they aren’t idiots to fight against Rihito. Kento shouts for Tami but Tami is currently divided on not wanting Mei to marry Shinnosuke and wanting to help Mei [..or Mei wanting to help those she want to help that Tami cannot go against her]. Kanzaki tells Kento that Tami is current in a ‘frozen state’. Holding up her fist while in a fighting mood, Mei tells Kento, “Come on, Shibata!” Kento just looks weird-out over this.

Then, the church bell rings. Izumi says that it’s already time’s up. Mei smiles over this. Pushing up his glasses, Shinnosuke says that he never thought that Mei would actually help him. “I won this duel. So with that, you ought to abandon any opposition against me in..” The Shibata brothers just look serious. Mei interrupts by asking, “Let me hear Shin-chan’s ‘real wish’. I’ve lost so in accordance to the agreement, I’m going to make your wish into a reality.” Shinnosuke is puzzled. Mei looks at him and says, “That is, if you tell a lie, I’m going to cut your tongue off and throw it away.” Shinnosuke looks a bit surprised. He tells her what is she talking about real or not, for his wish is to get married with Hongo Mei.. Mei interrupts him by screams out loud, “AH AH AH Ah, Geez— Then, let me tell you the truth, Shin-chan wants to replace my grandfather.. That is absolutely impossible! Because Hongo family’s social network, connections, and also influence, all belongs to one person, my grandpa. As for money, if there is five or six economic crisis, he can make it into a bubble! *pointing at Izumi* Speaking of that, even without your protection, Izumi, she...compared to you or even my grandpa-- is a lot stronger and more reliable!” Izumi looks surprised while the others sweatdrops as they wonder what Mei is talking about. Looking down, Shinnosuke tells Mei that she fundamentally doesn’t understand this world so she can easily say such beautiful words. Mei shouts back, “So what if they are beautiful words. Hey-- I don’t understand, [and] I also do not want to understand! Shin-chan’s wish is basically very simple [and pure]..! ..If you don’t tell the truth now, then Shin-chan..Shin-chan will change..into a one-skin covered disgusting creature.” Shinnosuke feels that his horns are growing that he holds his head and bends down on his knees. Kento turns to Rihito to ask him what’s going on but he ends up sweatdropping since Rihito looks really happy. Mei touches Shinnosuke’s shoulder and tells him that this is a limited time good opportunity. “No matter what your wish is, I’ll help you make it come true, so tell me, what is your real wish...(Not [that] lie, but what you are really thinking of)” Shinnosuke looks a bit flustered. He mutters, “My..true..wish..”

He stands up and calls out to surprised Izumi. Blushing, he bows to her and says, “Please go steady with me..!” Kento and everyone else goes into shock as they sweatdrop. Still blushing, Shinnosuke stutters, “Ah..no..not tha..that..it..isn’t going steady..ah..what I should..rather say is..yes! Da..date! I guess that even once ought to be okay, I wish that you would go out on a date with me!” Izumi looks surprised. Mei also pleads with Izumi for Shinnosuke is actually doing this to help Ryuoniji or rather help Izumi. Mei says that she knows that Shinnosuke’s nature is twisted, tend to be hesitant and sloppy which Izumi doesn’t like [isn’t her type] but she asks Izumi to help with this request. “Only this once, is also fine! Please go on a date with him..!” Fujiko and Claris sweatdrop as they wonder if Mei is helping or not helping Shinnosuke. Someone shouts for Izumi not to agree to it. Mei and Aoyama look surprised for it is Rika. Rika tells Izumi that there is no need for her to pay attention to Shinnosuke’s request since thanks to her, they won that duel. Mei and everyone sweatdrops and asks, “Ha?” A simple explanation is.. Flashback: Rika is shock when Kento said that they are going up the fourth floor of the building. Rika walked away and thought what kind of joke is that, she won’t do it. [<- too strenuous for her] She yawned and felt very sleepy. She thought that if she goes to sleep in Mei’s room in Shadow dorm, then, definitely, there won’t be anyone going in there since it’s very shabby. Inside, Rika commented that it is really simple and crude but she’ll just bear with it. She is surprised when she hears some noise. She quickly hid in the cabinet. She overheard Kiba telling Shinnosuke to reconsider things a bit. Then, while Rika deliberates over the opportune time to jump down, she fell fast asleep. End flashback.

Aoyama gloomily tells her that if she just gone out during that time then in a flash, they could have won the duel. Glittering Rika scolds him not to interrupt while she’s talking. Mei thinks that it is because Rika never thought of that. A bit dizzy, Shinnosuke asks if that means he lost and he confessed in vain. Mei tells him that it isn’t true because in this world, there is a lot of ‘testing in saying it’. She asks Rihito if this is true. Rihito smiles and says yes. Kento just sweatdrops. Izumi is surprised when Kiba is also pleading to her regarding that request. While kneeling on the floor, Kiba exclaims, “Right now, the one who can save Shin-chan..no, Shinnosuke-sama..is only you, Miss Izumi!” Izumi asks Kiba if this is his request. Kiba exclaims that it is. Shinnosuke blushes a bit over what Kiba is doing. Izumi drops the bokken and declares, “Then, I’ll make it into a reality, your wish.” Shinnosuke looks surprised. Mei happily tells Shinnosuke that it is great and it’s good that he actually said it. Izumi points at the two and angrily shouts that she agreed to it all because Kiba asked her to. Shinnosuke and Mei sweatdrop and think that Izumi is still angry. Blushing a bit, Kiba says, “Taking care of two dragons..I’ll become quite busy..” Mei asks, “Dragon?” Kiba laughs and says that it is nothing. Fujiko yawns and says that since she’s relaxed, she suddenly feels sleepy. Rika yawns and says that is true. Claris yawns and says that Rika already had enough sleep. Daimon asks Kiba about Miruku. Kiba tells him not to worry for Miruku is sound asleep. “On the cute butlers’ bunker bed” The Shibata brothers look shock over this. [Well, Rihito doesn’t have much reaction but Kento looks embarrassed over it.] [Then, it seems that] Kento is asking Kiba where Miruku is sleeping..on top or below. He is then hit on the head [by most probable by Rihito or Mei]. Kiba nervously asks Kento if he is alright. Mei asks if it’s important whether one is on top or the bottom. Rihito tells her that it is very important.

And so with that, the duel is over and it turns out that it is all for a date with Izumi =P I guess this is the charm with this series because the author really comes out with various twists and turns in the story that things would really come out differently than one would expect. Mei helping the enemy win is really unexpected. ^^; I think it is good that Kiba also intervened because after everything is said and done, he is the sole reason for making Shinnosuke infatuated with Izumi. This arc confirms to me that Mei’s fiance will end up with her friends and probably at the end, it would be a choice between the Shibata brothers. Anyway, the next arc will be a duel vs Damien. Chapter 90 is really hard and really ‘out-of-the-box’ since it jumps to Damien’s back story. It got me disoriented that I wonder if I’m reading a different series ^^; So, it’s up to chapter 89 for now and I’ll get back on this later on after some other series summaries. On a side note, I’m more excited with the future Chinese arc since Fujiko looks awesome here. ^^ I actually have no objections if Kento ends up with her =P Scans by xiuxiu and 玉/wdsjznl for BW.

At home, Ryoutarou is playing the piano. He stopped playing when he remembers Kahoko asking him where Len is before she runs off. His sister comes in the room and asks him to change places. He tells her not to just come in and why not use the piano at the other place. His sister says that she cannot because their mother is using it and she still has homework to do. Ryoutarou asks her if she is happy in ondai [music college]. Ryoutarou’s sister who is studying composition asks him why and doesn’t he plan on going to ondai. Scowling, Ryoutarou says not really, for he isn’t sure about it yet. His sister drops the topic by saying that it is okay if he pursues what he likes because if it’s him, no matter what it is, he would quickly seize it and he won’t keep on thinking about it as if it’s quite complicated. Ryoutarou is surprised when she comments that maybe, that way he’ll avoid/runaway and lose the most important thing. [<- probably means he’s too easygoing that he might lose something important] His sister sighs then promptly pushes him out of the room. Outside the room, Ryoutarou groans as to what kind of strength his sister has. He remembers Len saying[?] that whether it’s others or it’s him [other person] would do their best to move forward just like her [Kahoko?]. Ryoutarou thinks to himself that up to now, he had never seriously forged forward towards a goal but..in the future, he has not yet seen what progress he would have in the road of playing the piano. [<- not too sure, I guess he isn’t too sure if he’ll pursue piano seriously.] On the way to school, Kanzaki Kazuki [thanks to squishypao for the correction on his name ^^] tells Kahoko that they are going to have a Christmas party and they talked about it on the way after the competition. Kahoko anticipates it. Kazuki tells her that it seems to be an exchange gift type. Kahoko asks if it is alright since it is going to be exams soon. Kazuki just dismisses it as an internal exam so that it should be a bit simple/easy. Kazuki bids him goodbye and tells her that he’ll contact her when the party has been decided. While thinking of a gift, Kahoko sees someone.

Meanwhile, some teacher [whatever his name is] calls out to Ryoutarou and asks why he is lost in thought. The teacher congratulates him for winning [the competition] and asks if he is feeling relaxed. Ryoutarou remembers what his sister said last night. Ryoutarou tells the teacher that it isn’t like that. He asks the teacher if a music student’s goal is basically to go for further studies. The teacher tells him that it is so, and does this mean that he doesn’t plan on having future studies as his goal. Ryoutarou didn’t answer. The teacher says that he doesn’t understand why he has this problem for whatever the test, Ryoutarou can easily get in or does he plan on becoming like Kazuki. Ryoutarou asks if Kazuki is okay. The teacher says barely enough. They were interrupted when they hear Kahoko asking, ‘Please’ to someone. An older teacher [whatever his name is] says no. Kahoko asks her to let her once again not a week but after a month. The teacher continues to say no and the results of the music competition are already out. Not to mention about getting a prize, she didn’t get any special prizes. Kahoko keeps on asking but the teacher kept on saying no. Ryoutarou’s teacher says that Kahoko is really trying hard and what is it that she wanted to do. Ryoutarou just kept on looking at them. The teacher comments that she is quite different from Ryoutarou [too serious vs too easygoing]. Ryoutarou agrees with him and says that it is more comparable with Kazuki. The teacher didn’t reply back.

Walking in the streets, Kahoko thinks that she wants to exchange gift but she doesn’t have any money. She then sees a very cute violin case but to her shock, it costs 29,500 yen..too expensive. She laments that she no longer has any savings because of the competition participation fee and the music sheets. She then imagines what if she has to exchange gift with Azuma who’ll wonder if a pencil with a ribbon is a gift. [<- I think it happened in the past] She laments that she will be treated as a fool. Then, the owner comes out of the music shop. He knows Kahoko and asks her to come in the store. She apologizes for standing in front of the store then out of the blue, she asks him if he is hiring workers. The owner looks surprised that Kahoko starts apologizing for saying it so suddenly. He says that he is not currently hiring workers. He pauses and says that he has something he’ll ask her to do. While walking, Ryoutarou thinks that it is the same with his teacher. He tells himself to properly think of it. He remembers Len whose interest is always on the violin. He wonders what he is looking for. He seems to remember telling Kahoko about wanting to say something to her [about this feeling<- not sure if he said it or he’s thinking; I didn’t read the past chapters]. He goes in the music store and is surprised when someone greets him a welcome. He looks up and sees that it is Kahoko who is dusting the shelves. Ryoutarou goes out of the door again and looks at the sign of the music store [<- he might have gone in the wrong place]. He goes in again and asks what she is doing there. She tells him that she’s tending the store since the owner went out to do something. She asks him if he is looking for something. Ryoutarou says that it’s nothing and he’s just there to show his face. Kahoko comments that just like before, their relationship [Ryoutarou and the owner, I presume] is quite good. She notices him staring at her that she asks what it is. He says that he thought she’ll be depressed since Len left but she is actually quite lively even if her teacher strictly refuses. Kahoko is embarrassed that he saw that. Ryoutarou comments that she’s considerably proactive/energetic.

She is going to explain why when they were interrupted by two kids who enter the store. The boy exclaims that he already said that he’ll go to Sunday’s music competition to cheer for her. The girl apologizes for suddenly getting the tickets. The boy exclaims what’s so great about playing the piano. The girl tells him that it is interesting and why don’t he try it. The boy shouts that the piano is a girly and flimsy musical instrument so why would he try it. The boy then starts banging the piano in the store to persuade the girl of his perspective. Kahoko tries to stop the kid. The boy says that it is really boring. This made Ryoutarou grab the boy’s hand and shows him how it is done. He plays the piano and the boy is amazed. He remembers when he was a kid around that age, he decreased the time playing with his friends in order to practice since his mother is his piano teacher. He[?] touched it early on and can play it naturally as if it is a part of his life even if he once let it go. [<- not sure]. Ryoutarou stops playing and says that it’s feels [/sounds] almost like that and playing the piano unexpectedly takes more effort. Remembering Len, Ryoutarou thinks that lately, he must choose and even if he doesn’t plan to think, he ought to properly think of it. His thoughts are interrupted when Kahoko and the girl clap their approval. The boy just looks flustered-amazed. While Ryoutarou looks surprised at Kahoko, Kahoko asks the boy if Ryoutarou is amazing so if he is interested, why don’t he learn it with the girl for she learned it [/music] when she’s in high school. The girl urges the boy to study it, too. The boy nervously says not to decide on that and he’s just a little bit interested in it. Kahoko happily tells the boy that being a guy is okay and doesn’t he think that this ‘brother’ is quite cool and great. Ryoutarou blushes over that comment. She says that she thinks that guys playing the piano are amazing. Ryoutarou scratches his head and blushes. The girl asks Ryoutarou as to what music school he learned to play. Ryoutarou tries to say no. [<- Ah, is it self-study?] The boy becomes jealous when the girl says that Ryoutarou plays really well and he’s amazing. The boy grabs the girl’s hand and says that they are leaving. The boy stares at Ryoutarou before they leave.

Ryoutarou looks at Kahoko and asks what she was saying earlier. Kahoko says that she cannot do as she please anymore/do as her heart desires but her teacher refuses to let her study violin outside of school [<- abroad?] and she doesn’t have money for it. She tells him that it seems she has to work. She already told her parents about it and there is still a problem about the Christmas gift. Ryoutarou says that next year, they are going to the next level/third year. Kahoko says that she knows so.. Looking surprised, Ryoutarou asks if she is planning to continue on studying the violin. A bit flustered, Kahoko says that she knows that it’s quite impulsive. Ryoutarou apologizes and says no, [that isn’t what he meant]. Kahoko sighs and says that she has already decided to do her best and she had promised Len. He asks her what she intends to do. Kahoko mutters that she doesn’t know. Ryoutarou exclaims in shock that she doesn’t know. Kahoko nervously says that she knows and she thinks too simple [<- simple-minded]. She tells him that she really wants to continue to study the violin so she wants to try. “Because I do not want to regret.” Ryoutarou quietly looks at her. Kahoko laughs and says that even if it’s a promise, but if she thinks of the reason why she would want to continue studying the violin, it is probably because of Len’s existence. And perhaps, it is possible that she also thinks of it as her goal. Ryoutarou starts thinking of ‘reason’. “My reason is--” He seems to remember Kahoko practicing/playing on stage before. Kahoko nervously laughs and says that based on her current ability, it seems to be a bit.. She looks surprised when Ryoutarou says, “..then, my reason is you.” He asks himself if he cannot keep on continuing like this. “--Indeed” He remembers his sister’s remarks again. Looking at surprised Kahoko, Ryoutarou continues to say, “I...like you, Hino. Didn’t I say it before? After the music competition ends, there’s something I want to tell you, right?” Narration: “What regret..I already do not want to have it again.”

I think it would be amusing if they become a couple and make Len regret for not confessing before leaving =P But, I think there are a lot of Len x Kahoko fans that the author won’t make those two a couple. =P Well, is it possible for a temporary one? In the other series, couples usually become couples on the second year but for this series, I’m guessing that it could be either for third year or until they graduate school. My impression in this chapter is that Ryoutarou quit playing then played again because of Kahoko. So, I guess it is a case of the other inspiring the other type of love triangle. But then, this isn’t a love triangle but a harem so I’m curious how the others will react upon learning that someone has finally confessed to Kahoko. Ah..someone beat them to it? Eat your heart out? ^^; Well, for Ryoutarou, this is indeed a risk as with any person have when one confesses to a friend since their relationship will most definitely be not the same anymore. La Corda d'Oro [Chapter 71] Teaser
    Sunday, October 24, 2010

This is a short teaser for the last two pages of the latest La Corda. My net is slow tonight that I can see only some pages and the last two. I might not be able to summarize this tomorrow since I’m going out but the exciting part aka cliffhanger is at the end. It seems that Kahoko plans to follow Len in studying somewhere. Not sure on this and Ryoutarou kept on thinking about Len and about no regrets then.. Ryoutarou tells her, “I..like you, Hino. Didn’t I tell you? After the music competition ended, I have something that I wanted to tell you.” Narration: “What regret..I already do not want to have it again [/do not want to regret again].” Ah, is this the first confession for the series? It seems to be based on the reactions in baidu. Thanks PSDOL for the link ^^ Hm..Len's fans are crying for him to come home =P

Kyou, Koi wo Hajimemasu [Chapter 73]
    Friday, October 22, 2010

Tsubaki felt that she has become like the frog in the well. [<-Used to describe a situation or individual who cannot or refuses to see the big picture because of being sheltered and/or closed minded (source: urban dictionary)] Her grades has always been side by side with Kyouta and even if she’s not her [<- other girls], she still feels that she is really, really close with Kyouta. But, it isn’t like that unless it is within the school. She came to know this when they went to Kyoto. Tsubaki remembers how she doesn’t know Kaminaga’s question about space elevators yet Kyouta was able to answer it easily. Tsubaki has realized that there is a huge gap between her and Kyouta’s ability based on how he can talk about a technology that isn’t capable of being achieved at this present time. In order to take his goal to the next level, Kyouta would be talking with people who are his equal and, possibly, with a lot of outstanding people like Youko. “And, if that person has fallen for someone like Tsubaki-kun..if it’s an outstanding person..” Tsubaki remembers Youko telling her that if it is a guy like Kyouta, then it isn’t bad at all, to be in love. While the couple is on their way to the shrine, Kyouta is walking ahead of Tsubaki who looks downcast. Tsubaki thinks that in the end, she isn’t a frank and straightforward person. She goes into shock when Kyouta is already kneeling in front of her when he calls her out. He says, “Hey, why are you always looking down on the ground? This is the place that you’ve chosen.” Tsubaki stammers that it is true. Then, she becomes depressed again. She thinks that it would have been better if she has chosen some other place for the one whom she wants to pray to isn’t the love god [Okuninushi-no Mikoto]. Pointing at the side, Tsubaki tells Kyouta that because they just came from Kaminaga’s lecture, they should go to the Kiyomizu shrine, which is nearby. Kyouta looks surprised and asks if it’s Kiyomizu, then does she plan on drinking the water in order for her grades to suddenly go up. [Info: Beneath the main hall of the shrine is the Otowa waterfall, where three channels of water fall into a pond. Visitors can catch and drink the waters, which are believed to have therapeutic properties. Drinking the water of the three streams is said to confer wisdom, health, and longevity. (Source: wiki)] “Could it be..that you are really bothered that you cannot answer that last question?” Tsubaki looks flustered and tense. She closes her eyes and wonders what to do since she’s always procrastinating [/being obstructive], her brain isn’t that good and she’s so foolish that Kyouta probably thinks that other girl is very intelligent. Kyouta gives Tsubaki a light chop on the head and tells her, “Stu-pid! It isn’t your field of expertise so it’s normal that you don’t know [the answer]. *smiles* Don’t be so discouraged!”

Looking at Kyouta, Tsubaki blushes. Then, a girl pushes her to Kyouta while the girl apologizing to Tsubaki asking her to please move aside. Holding on to Kyouta, Tsubaki turns around and angrily thinks what it is all about, when this is already the third time today. It turns out that they are already in Jishu shrine and that girl wanted to try to love test using the love stones. Kyouta explains to her that one’s love wish will become a reality if one goes from one stone to the other, with one’s eyes closed. Tsubaki exclaims that it is too far. Kyouta asks Tsubaki if she wants to try it. Aghast, Tsubaki says no for she absolutely won’t be able to do it. Kyouta tells her not to be afraid of being embarrassed and there’s no one watching her. Flustered Tsubaki tells him that it isn’t about that but rather, what if she did it and she wasn’t able to reach the other stone. Tsubaki thinks that she doesn’t have any self-confidence anymore. Kyouta looks at her then shoves his bag to her. He tells her to hold on that and just stay where she is [where one of the stone is] and he’s going to give it a try. Tsubaki freaks out as she tries to call out to him but Kyouta is already heading towards the other stone. Tsubaki wonders if Kyouta is still very confident even if he fails in this test. At the other stone, Kyouta shouts at Tsubaki that he’s going to start walking. Tsubaki covers her face with Kyouta’s bag as she tells herself that it is impossible. She then hears some sounds. She takes a peek and is surprised that Kyouta is walking really straight towards her with his eyes closed. Flustered Tsubaki thinks that it is like that, how Kyouta would walk straight towards her while carrying the weight of her feelings. Suddenly, a couple bumps on Kyouta. The guy apologizes to Kyouta then walks away with his girl. Unfortunately, Kyouta is already standing sideways. Tsubaki groans that because Kyouta is hit, he no longer knows which direction he should walk. Tsubaki tensely gestures for Kyouta when Kyouta is going to a different direction. In the end, Tsubaki shouts, “Tsubaki-kun, I’m here..” Kyouta changes his direction towards her. Tsubaki continues to shout for him, “That’s right..a little more towards this direction..” Then, when Kyouta reaches the other stone, Tsubaki hugs him tightly and says that he’s amazing. Somewhat irritated, Kyouta says that of course, he’ll be able to get there since he’s following her voice. “How annoying, who bump me that I lost the direction..but forget it, I was able to go back to your side.” Blushing in happiness, Tsubaki tearfully say thanks.

At the cram school, Youko looks surprised over the ‘No One Knows the Universe Story’ book that Tsubaki is reading. She exclaims if Tsubaki has become a fan of Kaminaga, too. Youko happily gushes on how amazing that lecture in Kyoto is. Tsubaki looks weird-out as she gloomily thinks that actually, she really didn’t understand the contents of that lecture. “But..[after being told by Kyouta that of course she doesn’t know since it isn’t her area of expertise, she thinks that] before [becoming] discouraged, I should first try to do my best to understand it!” Tsubaki blushes and says that book is quite interesting. “Actually, it’s really sensible that I bought it! Perhaps, I’ll know what the reason why Kikuduki and Tsubaki-kun idolizes Professor Kaminaga.” Tsubaki thinks that it feels as if she is closer a bit with Kyouta again. She is surprised when Youko says, “...what..so it’s because of your boyfriend again? *Tsubaki looks nervous* Speaking of boyfriend, *gives Tsubaki a piece of paper* here..can I trouble you into helping me in giving this to him?” Tsubaki takes the note and says okay. She asks out loud what it is when she looks surprised upon seeing what’s inside the note. It is Youko’s email address and cellphone number. Youko tells Tsubaki to say that it is the first time she has met someone like him who knows about space that she would like to talk with him again. Youko happily waves goodbye and apologizes again to Tsubaki for troubling her. Tsubaki tries to call out to her but Youko has already went out of the room while whistling a tune. Tsubaki remembers again what Youko said that if it’s a guy like Kyouta, it’s okay to be in love. Tsubaki’s heart beats loudly as she seems to want to rip the note into two. Later on, at Kyouta’s house, Kyouta looks at the note and comments that Tsubaki is unexpectedly very lenient. While Kyouta throws the note on the table, Tsubaki asks what. Kyouta tells her that he would absolutely not help any other guy in giving her any information on how to contact [the other guy]. “Tsubaki..what are you thinking?” Tsubaki says that she originally doesn’t want to give it to him but if she hides it and didn’t give it to him, she’ll feel really guilty and be in anguish. Tsubaki thinks that it is like before wherein she worries too much that she didn’t think things thoroughly. [<- when she didn’t tell him about Kyouta’s mother is waiting at the cafe.] After looking surprised, Kyouta smiles at her then pats her head. He tells her that she has learned a lot and she’s really great. He pulls her to him and gives her a kiss. Kyouta stops before kissing her again as he gently pushes her down. Tsubaki then shouts for him to wait for they should study first..teach her first. Kyouta tells her that it doesn’t matter which comes first. Tsubaki says that it matters because of time and physical strength.

Then, Kyouta spots the ‘No One Know the Universe’ book spilling out from Tsubaki’s bag. He takes the book and asks why she has it. Tsubaki tells him that she also wants to read Kaminaga’s book and it is a very interesting book. Tsubaki takes out some other books and happily tells Kyouta that she would also read the other works of Kaminaga that she borrowed them from the library. “I find it very fascinating that I carelessly kept on reading and reading that lately, I wasn’t able to get enough sleep... [Now,] I also know a lot of stuff regarding space! So..I..” Kyouta interrupts her and says, “Tsubaki-chan, is..it necessary for you to do that [as if your life depended on it]?” Tsubaki’s smile froze as she asks, “Huh?” Kyouta tells her, “Even if I’m very happy that you find Professor Kaminaga’s studies to be interesting but, there should also be moderation in reading books! What if your grades drop again, because of this?” While tensely holding the books tight, Tsubaki wonders what Kyouta is saying when she felt really happy [over what she’s doing]. Kyouta continues to say, “You already got recommended in the limited quota of that school you aspired for. Absolutely! You absolutely shouldn’t let your grades drop, understand? ..ah, from the start, you’ve always been taking note of that..what[‘s the name] elite university, right? If you go there, what are you going to do afterwards?” Stunned Tsubaki drops the books that she is holding. Tsubaki tensely mutters, “Afterwards..that..that is..” To Kyouta’s surprise, Tsubaki exclaims, “It’s a secret!” Kyouta drops the topic by saying that he’ll forget it for now because anyway, he’ll know about it sooner or later. Holding a book on classics, Kyouta tells her that they should study now. Tsubaki somewhat bows her head and thinks, “What is it that I wanted to do?”

And I started to wonder who the heck is this guy, Kyouta has suddenly become nice, understanding and everything. ^^; I’m not sure if Kyouta knows of Tsubaki’s insecurities but thanks to him, she is somewhat reassured. I think what they did with the love stones is meaningful. As in, it has to be a joint job to get from one place to another so if the other is lost, the other just have to direct that person back in the right way. There is indeed no mention if ‘hints’ by calling the other is against the rules. =P Well, it is then, vice-versa at the end of the chapter wherein Kyouta stops Tsubaki from losing her way by losing sight of her goal just because she wants to be knows about space in order to relate with the space stuff that Kyouta is into. It does seem harsh but Kyouta did ‘hit’ her with some dose of reality. She then come face to face with the question of what she wanted to do after getting into her dream school. As I thought before, she doesn’t have any dreams for herself. That one dream she used to have is to be a virgin bride..well, that’s gone now, though not really related to Kyouta’s question. It would indeed be a waste to go to an elite university then she’ll just end up as a housewife. Tsubaki does seem like a bookish student who is just good at studying but other than that, she doesn’t know what else she would do. I do think that she should go into hairstyling or other things related to that but does she even have to go to a university for that? Hehe, what if she suddenly tells her mother that she doesn’t want to go anymore because her dream/goal is something else? Guess who’ll the mother blame for influencing her ‘nice and obedient’ daughter? Well, in the end, Tsubaki has to decide things for herself since it will be she who’s going to live with what she is going to study in university/do in the future and not her mother. Since Tsubaki is lately into ‘do not want to have regrets’, I guess she’ll figure things out soon before it is too late. As for Youko, the girl is really tactless or desperate to ask Tsubaki to give her contact information to Kyouta. It is still unknown if Youko really have a romantic interest in Kyouta or really just wants to talk about space with him. Tsubaki is really going for a risk in giving that note to Kyouta but it seems that Kyouta is pretty loyal to Tsubaki after going through all those other girls even after their temporary break-up. Anyway, I hope that Tsubaki would be a bit more firm or have a spine since it seems that most of the time, she is getting pushed around like what that girl did at the shrine since she is in the way and later on, Youko pushing her luck in asking that favor from Tsubaki. Hm..but then, being nice is indeed Tsubaki’s main advantage that she now has Kyouta. =P Scans by amyangel19910323 for BW.

    Koibana! Koiseyo Hanabi [Final Chapter]
    Thursday, October 21, 2010

While Hanabi walks forward, she thinks, “Wanting to run away. Not wanting to look straight, but at that opposite side is where the one I like is [located].” Hanabi follows Yukine as they walk by the river side. Hanabi tensely tells Yukine that if they go there, they might meet up with Chikai. Yukine tells her that he won’t come today because Cleo-chan has two walking routes. Yukine looks back at Hanabi and asks, “You still don’t know about this?” Somewhat flustered Hanabi exclaims, “..it’s only! [because] I still don’t know yet!” Yukine looks at her then slaps her. Flustered Hanabi holds her face and looks back at Yukine. Hanabi slaps Yukine back. Yukine slaps her again and Hanabi slaps back again. A couple of passer-by wonders what’s up with them. Then, the two girls hold hands together as they cry together. Yukine tearfully says, “Until I can naturally forget about it, I won’t meticulously [try to] forget about it. I like Chikai.” Hanabi tearfully answers back, “..me, too..*looks at Yukine* Me, too!” Narration: “Ah, being in love makes one unable to restrain one’s emotions. That thing about guys is also okay. That thing about Uno Chikai is also okay. Until now, I still feel that I’m not the same me anymore as compared with the me who still hasn’t known Uno Chikai.”

At the school’s sewing room, Hanabi looks at some girls with their kouhai who were working together on a veil. Some girls are testing the bridal veil then taking pictures of themselves on their cellphones. Hanabi muses that it’s very beautiful. Looking aghast, she then tearful wonders out loud that it is possible that she doesn’t have any chance in with that beautiful thing [marriage]. She thinks that she totally hasn’t been able to cure her ‘hate guys’ sickness and also, there’s no way she could kiss. “And, I also do not know how to prove this feeling of love.” Hanabi tells her friends, “The me, who is like this, I do not know if I can or cannot attain happiness like everyone. I do not know if I can or cannot get Uno Chikai. *flustered* But..” Atsumi interrupts her by asking, “Those words you are saying, you also want to tell it to us? Shouldn’t you be telling those things to Uno Chikai?” Kareshi giggles and Mii just looks at Hanabi. Hanabi looks surprised then sheepishly smiles. She says, “..right, it should be to Uno Chikai.” While imaginary donning of a samurai armor, Hanabi holds up her arm and shouts, “Goal is that male enemy!!!” Leaning by the door with his arms crossed, Chikai asks her who the enemy is. Hanabi froze then looks really tense. Emitting hearts all around, the other girls are really happy to see Chikai. Without looking behind her, she nervously thinks that it’s Chikai. She tells him that it’s nothing. Chikai thinks that it’s that again and he angrily says, “Is that--so. Then, it’s like this.” While the other girls are saying that Chikai has already left, Hanabi felt that the breath/presence has gradually disappeared. Flustered Hanabi turns around and shouts for him to wait. Her friends suddenly grab her and put something on her.

At the hallway that is filled with guys, around 6-7 meters away, Hanabi calls out to Chikai. Chikai stops walking and turns around. Chikai looks aghast as he wonders what that thing Hanabi is wearing on her head. Wearing a bridal veil, Hanabi starts walking towards Chikai. She thinks, “Even if..even if I’m like this..” Chikai looks puzzled as he wonders what Hanabi is doing as she holds a guy’s arm then screams out loud before going to another guy..doing the same hold arm then screaming in aghast. He realizes it when Hanabi tearfully shouts that [person] is wrong. Aghast and crying as she kept on doing that, Hanabi thinks, “I want to see you. I want to be by your side. I want to stay by your side.” The other guys angrily wonder out loud as to what’s up with Hanabi. Hanabi looks up and sees Chikai looking at her. She thinks, “The one who can make me think this way is only you, Chikai Uno.” Hanabi blushes really red as if she is a blushing bride. She looks down and thinks that if she looks at him closely, he’s really beautiful. Hanabi says, “I like you. Although I have no way of proving this feeling, *gesturing to her heart* but the proof is here.” Holding the veil, Chikai pulls her to him and says, “There is also [proof] here on [your] face.” He then kisses her on the cheek. Chikai blushes a bit as Hanabi looks tense and aghast. She faints. ^^; Chikai angrily comments if this is for real when it’s only like a touch on the face. He then says, “..forget it, it’s also okay for me to wait for you a little while. You’ll only wag your tail at me, the [pet] owner, right? You’re a guard dog, right?” Chikai bends down and fondly holds Hanabi’s veil while Hanabi is still lying on the floor, foaming on the mouth. ^^; Soon, the other girls are exclaiming that it is a lucky veil and they want to try it, too. Ami looks with her binoculars [probably at the couple]. She smiles and says that the way through the classroom is really nice. “Anyway, what would the next freshmen’s love soldiers would be like ♡” The principal calls out to Ami and asks if they have a teacher’s meeting. [<- not to sure since it is a bit small.] Narration: “Go love and be each other’s beloved.”

Then, there are various snapshots of all the cast. A couple of girls from the window are attracted to Arashi. Kareshi and Masato look happy with Kareshi’s siblings. Yukine looks at peace with herself and she’s smiling. Band rocker Soutarou with make-up meets up with a long curly haired female guitarist. Chidori is at school. Shinichi is crying in joy as he holds Mii’s drink, while Mii sits on his lap while reading a magazine and drinking the juice. The two fat guys are attracted again with another chubby girl. Gen is smiling as he talks on his cellphone [most probably with Ami]. And, Atsumi nervously smiles as she eats two scoops of ice cream on a cone as Sasa laughs. He has only one scoop of ice cream. The scene changes to Hanabi’s house. Hanabi’s family is standing at the door as they bid the couple goodbye and take care on their way. While the father just stands behind, Hanabi’s mother says, “Son, take care of [my] daughter.” Hanabi’s sisters are calling Chikai as ‘[elder/younger] brother’. Chikai has no reaction but Hanabi looks aghast as she mutters that they are only going to the park. Minato shouts for them to hold their hands. Hanabi’s mother smiles and tells her that it’s not bad for them to take things slowly. “Didn’t you notice? They’ve become closer [= distance] to each other.” The couple is walking their dogs. Chikai looks at smiling Hanabi. Narration: “Hanabi thinks to herself that it’s great that he [Chikai?] is a guy.” Nanpa asks Cleo what it meant. Cleo asks, huh, I know. After a pause, Chikai says, “[I] like you.” Hanabi exclaims in surprise, “Ah---- ♡” Narration: “Being in love is really beautiful. *dog paw*”

And so, this series ends after summarizing it for three years. I checked =P and I’ve started doing this on Oct. 25, 2007. It does seem that it ended abruptly and well, the author isn’t interested in showing to us what will happen eventually since it is obviously a happy ending. I didn’t expect that slapping incident with Yukine and Hanabi since I thought it would be more on talking but then, I guess it is like that acting scene before in Skip Beat!, they just let actions of slapping and crying together do the talking. The author doesn’t seem to want a time skip so she just got Hanabi to wear a bridal veil while confessing and of course, there’s the variation to the kiss since it isn’t on the lips. =P It does seem like they are going to get married or something though I’m not too fond of Chikai treating Hanabi like a dog ^^;; Anyway, I guess the last lessons of this series is take things slowly and naturally fall in love, and love is a nice experience. Hehe, it does seem that this series is a bit preachy =P Overall, I think this is an okay series about girls in love with some love lessons and dogs theme at the side. The time period is indeed one cycle wherein Hanabi isn’t in love as she goes to high school on the spring day to another spring, yet she is in love. Hehe, it does seem that she is a late bloomer that it took a year for her to slightly progress on love since she would faint over a kiss and not a touch but not to the point of curing her sickness. Hmm..trying to make if a bit realistic? The ending is a bit rushed that I wonder if this author cannot do a proper ending. Well, at least, she didn’t drag things out just like before in Parfait Tic before ending it, but this ending isn’t too satisfying either..well, it is an okay one and I guess a bit better than Parfait Tic. =P Anyway, thank you to those who read and followed my summaries for this series until the end ^^ Scans by by Mercury Studio.

Kyou, Koi wo Hajimemasu [Chapter 72]
    Tuesday, October 19, 2010

In the Shinkansen, Tsubaki asks Kyouta if they only need around two hours to go to Kyoto. Preparing to eat his bento meal, Kyouta tells her that it is as he told her, it isn’t very far. He then drops his chopsticks in surprise upon seeing her eating onigiri [rice balls]. Kyouta starts laughing at her and asks if that is what she meant by preparing her lunch, handmade onigiri. “No wonder you’re a Showa girl! Hahaha” Tsubaki exclaims that there’s nothing bad about it. While eating, she thinks that she must economize in things that she can economize because she didn’t expect the Shinkansen ticket to be so expensive $12,760 [Kyoto to Shinagawa; around at today’s rate, it’s US$ 156]. Crumpling the plastic wrap of the onigiri, Tsubaki thinks that she had used up one month’s portion [of her money] and thankfully, she got a money gift [given to one’s children during New Year]. Tsubaki is surprised when Kyouta gives her a magazine about Kyoto. He tells her to look at that and choose a place where she wants to go. Tsubaki asks him that weren’t they going to listen to his revered professor’s lecture. Kyouta says that after the lecture, they can still at most go to another place. Blushing a bit, Kyouta says, “We have to go back on the same day, but even so, this is the first time we went..on a trip together.” Tsubaki blushes over this. She then flips through magazine and says that it is indeed a rare opportunity so she’s going to look for that place she missed during her junior high field trip. Stopping mid-sentence, Tsubaki looks surprised over something. Kyouta bends over to her and asks what it is. “What place did you find?” It is Jishu Shrine. [Info: It is behind the Kiyomizudera temple where the Okuninushi-no Mikoto is enshrined. He is the god of love and marriage and the deity's messenger is the rabbit. The shrine does a brisk trade in omamuri (amulets) that promise to help “for love knot”, “for good marriage”, “for love chance”. There is also the Love Stones (koiuranai no ishi), a pair of rocks set in the ground about 6 meters apart. If you can successfully walk from one stone to the other with your eyes closed you will be lucky in love. Of course, if you don’t succeed you can always buy an omamuri. Source: japanvisitor.com.]

Kyouta comments that Tsubaki is easily attracted to those kind of places. He is referring to the lighting of the candles during their first Christmas together. Tsubaki tells him that it isn’t so. During the junior high field trip, they have already passed there but then, she doesn’t feel that she have any fate in marriage before.. Before, she pretended as if she isn’t in the least bit interested in it [and she just read a book instead of going there] but actually, she really wants to go. Embarrassed, Tsubaki tells Kyouta that is why she cannot help but take note of that place.. “It’s alright, let’s go somewhere else! Tsubaki-kun, do you have any place you would want to go?” She is surprised when Kyouta closes the magazine. He tells her that it is no longer necessary to look at it again since it is already decided where they would go. Flustered Tsubaki says, “Ah..that means..is that so! Tsubaki-kun unexpectedly also likes these kinds of things..” Kyouta says, “Ah, Fuji-san.” Kyouta is irritated when Tsubaki quickly turns to the window and exclaims in surprise while looking at Mt. Fuji. She says that they are already in Shizuoka. Kyouta says that they are already half-way to Kyoto and isn’t it very near. Tsubaki mentally sighs [for her earlier remark]. Then, she tells him not to say it like that. “It’s because if I’m with you, even if it is for a long period of time, it feels as if it [the trip] is very short.” Kyouta looks away and blushes. He mutters how she can say that so directly. Tsubaki turns around and asks what it is. Kyouta looks at her and says, “..that’s right, if I’m with you, I don’t notice that time is passing by.” He leans near her and kisses her. “It’s the same with me.”

At the gate, Tsubaki points at the side and tells Kyouta that the science and engineering department is at that side. She is stunned when Kyouta hurriedly walks past her and to the place where the lecture will be held. Tsubaki tries to catch up with him as she exclaims why he is walking so fast. Kyouta finally stops when he reaches the S&E third building. Tired Tsubaki is breathing hard after catching up with him. Kyouta then says, ‘Uh-oh *smiles* I really eagerly anticipate Kaminaga’s lecture!!” Kyouta moves left and right in excitement with nervousness. Looking at him, Tsubaki smiles and thinks that in making Kyouta that happy, it’s really great that she saw that bulletin about the lecture at her cram school. “Speaking of that, that girl..called..Kikuduki? She is also very interested in this lecture, will she come.. No, normally, people won’t go to Kyoto.” Her thoughts are interrupted when a girl calls out to her. She turns around to see a socialite-looking girl complete with sunglasses and coat + boots with fur trimmings. The girl exclaims at Tsubaki that it is unbelievable that she’ll come with her boyfriend. “Really amazing~~” Kyouta asks who it is and he didn’t know that Tsubaki knows a girl like that. Backing away, Tsubaki says that she doesn’t know. The girl removes her sunglasses and tells Tsubaki that they just became friends this week so how could Tsubaki forget her already. “Is your memory okay?” It turns out to be Youko. Tsubaki apologizes and says that it is because she’s wearing sunglasses that she didn’t recognize her. Youko tells her that she is sensitive to the sun so she would wear it normally when she’s wearing casual clothes. She then looks at Kyouta and asks Tsubaki if he is the ‘Tsubaki’ boyfriend she mentioned before. “Ah-- seems to be the popular type.” Tsubaki stiffens as she imagines Youko to be the air-head type of girl who’ll gushes about how handsome Kyouta is and tells him to just dump that girl [Tsubaki] and go steady with her. Tsubaki becomes nervous if Youko is that kind of girl because if it is then.. Her thoughts are interrupted when Youko says, “Ah, Hibino, I’m sorry, but..I’m totally not interested in this type of guy.” Kyouta seems to look stiff [expression not shown]. Tsubaki looks flustered and relieved as she says is that so. Youko asks Tsubaki if that is her type and it’s quite unexpected. To Kyouta’s irritation, Tsubaki innocently says no, she totally didn’t like that type since from the very start. Youko tells her that they should stop talking about nonsense things since they should quickly get in, in order to get the good seats. Youko happily bids them goodbye and says that she’ll be heading in first.

After she left, Kyouta angrily says what Tsubaki is saying just now. Tsubaki says that it was the truth but right now, *blushing* it isn’t the same anymore. Tsubaki is surprised when Kyouta confesses that for him, from the start, he felt that she would be his type of girl. Flustered Tsubaki exclaims that he’s talking nonsense for he obviously always calls her Showa girl. Kyouta says that until now, she is still a Showa girl especially when she’s in casual clothes. Kyouta walks in ahead inside while Tsubaki blushes. She wonders if it’s really true that from the very start.. Later on, reading at a booklet, Tsubaki looks dark as she wonders what this lecture is all about since she totally doesn’t understand anything. Tsubaki is going to ask Kyouta if he knows what they are talking about when to her shock, Kaminaga asks Tsubaki if she knows what’s the biggest problem about the space elevator. [Space elevator is a proposed structure designed to transport material from a celestial body's surface into space. (Source: wiki) If you watched Gundam00, it’s called Permanent Orbital Station. Apparently, Japan is currently working on making it into a reality.] Tsubaki freaks out over this as she wonders why her [being asked] and why are they going to make an elevator to space. Kyouta answers that upon creating the elevator, what is needed is material that they can use. In order to hang the space elevator, the plan is to use a material that can withstand the distance of approximately 4940 km [<- enough compressive strength to support its own weight (according to wiki)] but the current technology cannot make it into a reality. Kaminaga says yes. Youko stands up and says, wait a minute, won’t this problem be resolved if they use the latest developed artificial fine CNT [carbon nanotubes]. Kyouta stands up and says no, for its maximum tensile strength is only 750 MPa [10kg/cm2] so this designed material wasn’t able to satisfy the requirement. Youko mentions about the possibility of meteorites hitting it. Kyouta tells her that has no relevance in the problem of creating a space elevator. After recovering from being puzzled about the things that they were talking about, Tsubaki looks at Kyouta and thinks that he really becomes enthusiastically happy regarding space stuff. She then looks surprised and thinks, “No, it isn’t space, the current Kyouta is [excitedly talking] with Youko.”

While walking together with the couple, Youko happily exclaims that in the end, Kaminaga’s lesson is really amazing and it’s really good that she specially came to Kyoto for it. Walking between the two space fanatics, Tsubaki looks back and forth at the two and wonders out loud if it is so. Kyouta says that of course it is. Tsubaki asks them as to which part does they think is really good about the lecture. Kyouta tells her that of course, his [Kaminaga] viewpoint about space is very interesting and when he [Kyouta] was small, he read that amazing lecture book. Youko exclaims, “Could it be--?” She holds out a book. She and Kyouta exclaim at the same time, “‘Nobody Knows the Universe Story’!!” Flustered, Kyouta asks, “Could it be that you, too..because of that and speaking of that, up to now, you carry that book around.” Holding the book, Youko says that it is because that is her bible. She sadly looks at the two as they happily talk with each other while Youko is pointing to something in the book. Tsubaki thinks, “It’s that..again. Usually, that is what’s called as an ‘ideal couple’ right..” Tsubaki pulls Kyouta’s sleeve and tells him that if they don’t go now, they won’t be able to make a quick visit at Jishu Shrine. Soon, Youko bids the couple goodbye. Tsubaki sadly thinks that she’s really useless for if she didn’t use her position as the girlfriend, then, she won’t be able to intervene between those two. “It’s really good that Youko said those words to me.. [Kyouta isn’t her type] If it isn’t so, then I--..” Youko turns around and grabs Tsubaki’s arm. She asks Tsubaki to spare a moment. Tsubaki is puzzled. Youko whispers to her, “About that, I’m really sorry for saying such nonsense things before. *smiles and slightly blushes* Being in love with a guy like Tsubaki-kun, perhaps, isn’t really bad after all.” Tsubaki looks nervous-tense at Youko. The blurb asks what the impact on Tsubaki regarding Youko’s unexpected words is.

And so, Tsubaki is now going into an insecurity phase especially since her ‘rival’ is someone like a someone like Youko who is beautiful, stylish, smart, outspoken, confident and a space fanatic. She does seem like the opposite of Tsubaki since she is pretty much like a modern woman. I’m not sure if that is a reassurance that Kyouta won’t fall for Youko since it does seem that it is implied that Kyouta likes/is attracted old fashioned girls like Tsubaki. Somehow, I think that even if Youko or Kyouta didn’t fall for each other, their mutual interest for space and how they can engage in lively talk about space are enough to make Tsubaki jealous. The way they talk about the things that Tsubaki doesn’t understand makes her like the third wheel when they were together. So far, Youko doesn’t seem to show signs as the type of girl who’ll steal someone else’s boyfriend. Anyway, I wonder if Tsubaki can just let Kyouta study there fully knowing that Youko will be going to that school, too. Hehe, studying in Kyoto is no longer about the distance but rather, the possibility of those two being together while Tsubaki is in Tokyo. Her imagination might also work overtime over this. I guess depending on how Tsubaki handles this, we will know if we will have a lover’s quarrel soon like Tsubaki getting jealous over what Kyouta might think as nothing but just friendly talk about space with another girl. I’m somewhat imagining it as a housewife vs husband’s female colleague at work =P Also, I hope Tsubaki won’t go in martyr mode like feeling she is unworthy and let him go or like she’ll force herself to study space and stuff that she isn’t interested in, in order to go with Kyouta or at least, can related to what they are talking about. I’m also curious if she will do that love test at the shrine..will she pass or not? If she passed, then that is one reassurance. Another would be for Kyouta to notice that something is wrong with her so that he can reassure her of his love. It’s nothing much but at least, a little assurance would be good for Tsubaki. Skip Beat! [Chapter 165] Teaser
    Monday, October 18, 2010

Thanks to Alexis for informing that SB! teaser is already out in baidu. ^^ I do not know if this is real or not as written by the poster. Revision of summary based on 大豆最高 translation: Right in front of blond Ren’s eyes, a car hit that black haired guy from before and that blond woman screamed. [<- flashback from before] Because of the accident that happened in the shooting, Ren has remembered the past. As a result, Ren just gazes at the steering wheel and won’t move at all. Kyouko is in the process of apologizing at the passer-bys [as she tries to get through them, I think] arrives at the scene while the onlookers are talking about what happened. Ogata Kyouko calls out to Ogata who told her that the kid is safe and Ren should be, too. Kyouko is relieved. The staff is already looking into Ren’s situation but Ren is totally not responding to them at all. Ogata and Kyouko became worried when the other driver tells them that Ren won't respond. When Kyouko has seen Ren’s expression, she remembers that it is the same at that time when Ren was beating those hoodlums before. Ogata opens the car door to closely check up on Ren. He finds Ren looking as if his soul has left him. Back to the flashback, the blond woman is holding the man who was hit by the car. She shouts, “Rick [/Rikku], no, please Rick, don’t die!!” Then, it is shown that Rick’s blood has already flown to blond Ren’s feet then to his whole body. His body grown cold and he couldn’t move a muscle. Another translation mentioned about the blond woman shouting that those guys hate Rick just because of his relationship with Ren. Not sure on that one but anyway, just wait for the scanlations for verification and I guess this arc will be all about Ren’s past which continues to haunt him. I guess the psychological trauma is really bad for Ren to be like that. If Kyouko is going to ‘save’ him, I wonder how she is going to do it. Scans by BillWang動漫工作室製作

Free Talk: Blog Stuff and Computer Worry
    Saturday, October 16, 2010

And, the easy ones are done. ^^ Next are the slightly hard/many chapters to catch up to. Hehe, I actually finished Ookami-heika no Hanayome last week while waiting for manga dump =P I really want to update that since the Chinese is already updated to the Japanese release. Anyway, I’m currently working on Kyou, Koi wo Hajimemasu 72. I planned to put it up today but unfortunately, all that talk about space elevators took time. ^^; Lastly, something personal, wish me luck or pray for me that I can still get the personal data out from that drive that cannot be read by Windows. I plan to get it to the computer shop tomorrow. Thanks and enjoy the weekend. ^^

Edit: It's confirmed that the data is safe ^^ It seems that there is a misconfiguration in the bios. The windows is a bit corrupted, too. Basically, I'm relieved that it's okay. I'm currently burning the date now. Thank God and to those who prayed/wished me luck ^^

    Ookami-heika no Hanayome [Chapters 4-5]
    Saturday, October 16, 2010

Chapter 4: At Hakuyou’s palace, Reishou is busy reprimanding his underlings that he already told them to quickly deal with the things in the central east seat of government [/palace] yet what have they been doing. They are not permitted to once again to delay things. The officers can only timidly bow their head and say that they will quickly address it. Sitting at the side, Looking tense, Yuulin just watches him. Then, their eyes met. Reishou smiles at her which made Yuulin blush. Yuulin thinks that this is bad because it seems that it [/this condition] is quite serious.. At the harem, Reishou bends his head down a bit and calls out to Yuulin. Startled, Yuulin blushes really red and exclaims that he came. Reishou smiles and says that he did. He apologizes for startling her. Yuulin brushes it off by apologizing too and saying that it is because the mood from the government affairs office has not yet gone away. She laughs and says that it was obviously just an act yet she is so afraid. “I’m so useless.” Reishou sadly smiles and apologizes again. He says that he didn’t mean to frighten her. Seeing him looking dejected, flustered Yuulin answers back that it is because her training is inadequate. Yuulin is really frustrated at how nervous [<- heart beating fast] she becomes whenever Reishou is just acting that ‘Wolf king’. Reishou just quietly looks at her. Later on, Yuulin goes to Jun to ask him to give her more work. Yuulin tells him that she feels that she is wasting a lot of time while staying at the harem so she wants to do something. Yuulin thinks that if she kept herself busy, she won’t be thinking of unnecessary things. Jun says that how one gracefully uses one’s excess time is also one of the princess’ skills. “But, it seems that isn’t your obligation.” Yuulin felt a sharp pain in her chest upon hearing that. Jun smiles and says that there is still a job that is suitable for her. Soon, Yuulin is wearing a maid’s outfit. Yuulin asks if he wanted her to clean the forbidden areas of the harem. Jun happily says yes for there are some portions of the harem that aren’t used and there is a lot of dust that has accumulated already. He had always wanted someone to go clean those places up. Jun tells her that she can disguise herself anyway she pleases and do not let Reishou know of this since he will be unhappy about it. While Yuulin is busy dusting and cleaning, she thinks that the sentence Jun said earlier irritated her yet this kind of work actually calms her feelings. “There’s no need to put on a fake smile. There’s no need to mind etiquette rules. This is a decent, down-to-earth kind of work! Yes, I just verified that I’m not suitable as a princess..!”

She then hears some noise and someone shouting what’s happening since it is noisy. She turns around to see a short old man. While wondering who he is, Yuulin tells the old man that, this place here is forbidden. The old man points at her and asks how could she not know him, he’s Chou Gen, the caretaker of the harem. Gen angrily complains that during the past king’s time, there are a lot of gorgeous and graceful princesses adorned in every corner of the harem but now, there’s only just a cleaning maid. Gen sadly says that the harem is also desolated and there’s only one princess. “Even if he’s called Wolf King, it’s actually just an empty name.” While wondering who that old man is, Yuulin asks if that is so, but compared to a squanderer [bum-type], Reishou gives one a more favorable impression. Gen asks her if she knows the king. Thinking that she should answer as a maid, Yuulin replies that she has only seen him. Yuulin feels uneasy when Gen looks at her from different directions. To her surprise, Gen suggests that Yuulin go try and attract [/seduce] Reishou. Yuulin sternly looks at Gen and asks, “Ha? What are you talking about?” Gen tells her that he isn’t saying that she’ll do it for free. Yuulin is surprised as Gen shows her a string of money and bags of money which he put on the table. With a smile, Gen tells her that he’ll give that money to her, so go settle things with the Wolf King. Yuulin goes into shock and exclaims what his problem is. She shouts for him to take back the money but Gen has already run away. Later on, Reishou calls out to her and Yuulin exclaims in surprise. She remembers that Reishou came [to her room]. Reishou muses out loud that it seems that gramps had come back into the harem. He tells her that before Yuulin came to the palace, gramps wasn’t feeling well that he was still recuperating then. He says that since he is well already, he ought to have come back. He also tells her that gramps is there ever since before since he’s the harem’s caretaker. “Even if is he a bit weird but I respect him.” Yuulin thinks so that’s it. She notices that Reishou is smiling while looking at her. This made Yuulin remember about Gen telling her to attract Reishou. Reishou is puzzled when Yuulin suddenly blushes really red and shouts in panic as to how she can do that kind of thing. Fired up, she thinks that she only have to return the money so that she can sever her relationship with Gen. [<- she still wasn’t able to return the money] Reishou looks at her and somewhat worriedly thinks that something is a bit wrong with her and is she always like this normally.

And, as a maid, Yuulin continues to chase after Gen to return the money as she shouts that she cannot do it but Gen just runs too fast for her. Gen looks back at her from the window and asks why she can’t do it. He tells her that the entire harem belongs to His Majesty including herself and speaking of that, she can fully enjoy lots of glorious and splendid type of riches. [<- I think Gen is telling her the benefits of getting Reishou.] Yuulin tells him that those things don’t matter to her and she doesn’t suit [this place]. She places the money on the table and shouts for Gen to please take them back. Yuulin goes back to work. She thinks that no matter how long she worked as a temporary bride, she still cannot become a qualified princess. Carrying her bucket, she thinks that she still has to go to a place where people pass by in order to change the water. Just then, she hears someone saying that it will be done as he wished. She looks up to see that Reishou is passing by. Yuulin panics as she wonders why he is there. Remembering Jun telling her not to let Reishou know about her side job, Yuulin quickly kneels down and bow while covering her face with her sleeves. She keeps on thinking for Reishou to quickly pass by. Reishou looks at her and asks if she is a new servant. Since Yuulin is too tense, she stutters that she is. Reishou tells her not to be that afraid of him. She wonders if she has already been exposed. “Quickly, leave already!” Reishou orders her to stand and lift her head up. Yuulin stands up but she keeps on hiding her face with her sleeves. Reishou asks why she is covering her face. Yuulin sweatdrops and wonders why he is paying too much attention on a cleaning maid. Reishou tells her that on contrary, if she kept on covering her face, it makes one curious. Yuulin starts to become really tense as she remembers Gen telling her that the harem and she herself belong to Reishou. Thinking that isn’t what she wanted [<- what Gen told her], Yuulin stutters that she is afraid that her face would frighten him. Reishou holds her wrists down to pull away hands from her face. He says, “Very interesting, you’ll disobey a command, right? [Dare to] disobey the ‘cold-hearted Wolf King’?” Seeing Reishou in wolf mode, Yuulin tensely says that it isn’t so. As her heart is beating really fast, Reishou asks, “What..is this a new game? *smiles* ..Yuulin.” Yuulin is flustered-shock that Reishou is fooling around with her. She asks how he knew. Holding her glasses, Reishou comments that the glasses are a decoration [<- no grade?]. He asks her if it is because of this, that she has been acting fishy lately. “What are you doing?”

Really embarrassed, Yuulin stutters that this is work. Reishou leans toward her and asks, “--work? As a princess, you’re dressed up like this while working?” Yuulin blushes and thinks, “—it’s here again.. It’s this again, using acting..half serious and half pretending while teasing me, making me afraid and anxious. Making my heart beat in chaos.” Teary-eyed, Yuulin says, “—I'm originally not any kind of princess. This kind of get-up is more like my true self. If you want to get a real princess, then please hire someone like that.” Reishou looks at her in surprise as she quickly turns to leave. She thinks, “I cannot help it that he’s making me run around in circles. [He’s] making my heart beat irregularly and violently.” While dark-looking Yuulin is cleaning, Gen asks her what happened that she looks as if she is going to die. He is surprised when she turns to face him. She sadly says, “—I’ve simply utterly failed..” She thinks, “See..wanting me to attract His Majesty is something that is essentially impossible for me to do..” Gen says is that so, then His Majesty is really lonely. “A harem should be a place that can console the king’s heart. I’m very worried about him since he still couldn’t relax even if he is here. I’ve wished that there would be at least one person who can become a place where he can be at ease. *sigh* It’s so difficult..” Feeling a sharp pain, Yuulin becomes teary-eyed and thinks, “What this person is saying is the duty of a real ‘princess’. I clearly know this. But, why does my heart hurts this much?” She is surprised when Reishou suddenly carries her. While carrying puzzled Yuulin, Reishou calls out to Gen. Gen nervously greets him. In wolf mode, Reishou says, “—you, didn’t tell her any strange things, right.” Nervous Gen tells him nothing..nothing at all. Reishou says that’s good. Still carrying Yuulin, Reishou turns around and starts walking out of the room. Looking frightened, Yuulin tells him to put her down but Reishou didn’t listen to her pleas. While Yuulin tries to reaches out, Gen just waves goodbye to her. After they left, Gen sits on the chair and says that Reishou is still quite scary that he almost hurt his back again. “But, it seems..that princess, is doing quite well..” [<- or not bad at all.]

Looking aghast, Yuulin continues to ask Reishou to put her down. She looks really nervous as she wonders what to do since Reishou is really angry. She is surprised when Reishou asks, “Hiding from me about your workload increase, you really want to finish up paying your loan quickly, right? Do you hate the ‘Wolf King’ that much?” Flustered, Yuulin shouts that it isn’t so, she didn’t thought of that. She thinks that it is because she’s always trembling in fear that is why he thinks that way. Reishou holds her in front of him and says, “That also doesn’t matter. *looking sad* It doesn’t matter that you’re scared of me. –but, do not hide in places that I do not know. I only want you.” Yuulin looks surprised at him and thinks that this Reishou isn’t angry nor scary. “It’s only the face of a fragile Wolf King.” Later on, Yuulin looks shock as Gen sighs and says that he is just testing that so-called temporary princess that four eyes has brought in. Yuulin sweatdrops and realizes that Gen knew who she is from the very start. Gen angrily reprimands Jun for hiring a temporary princess. “What the hell are you treating the divine harem for! I’m just not around for the time being and you suddenly just did things on your own, you four eyes!” Scowling, Jun mutters that he has his own problems. He tells Gen that if he is unhappy with Yuulin’s work then just fire and send her away. Gen glares at Yuulin who looks frightened. Then, Gen says that if her performance is good, His Majesty can also get some comfort [from her]. “Do your job well.” Gen leaves puzzled Yuulin who wonders if he is misunderstanding something. “I’m still not in the least bit like a princess.” Afterwards, Reishou happily tells maid Yuulin that she looks really happy. Yuulin exclaims, “But of course! This is my true self!” She thinks that he has told him that it is okay if she just be her true self. Blushing, she tells him, “I will also do my best in acting as a princess. Definitely soon..I won’t be that afraid again.” Her heart beats loudly when Reishou smiles and says that he’ll anticipate it. She thinks, “..one day..one day, I’ll be able to do it..no longer afraid nor nervous..[I’ll] become the me who’ll be able to console you.” While Reishou is smiling at her, Yuulin turns away from him and continues to clean. She angrily curses that it is still far off [for that to happen]. Reishou just keeps on smiling. In the end, while she is cleaning, Gen is pestering her by asking what the arrangement between her and Reishou is. Looking tired, Yuulin says that there’s no arrangement. Gen tells her not to hide it from him. Yuulin thinks that she’s starting to get entangled into this.

I really think that Yuulin is mistaking fear for love. Maybe it is overlapping. Fast heartbeat and shying away can mean both - love or fear. Too bad for Reishou, she really thinks that it is all an act and he cannot help but pretend it is an act because she really does seem to fear her and she admitted it to be so. It does seem to be a dead end type of relationship but then, Yuulin is beginning to experience pain of knowing that she isn't the true princess. That can be of help and she now has a mentor in the form of Gen. Hehe if Jun doesn't care about the couple, Gen cares too much =P I think he is a good addition to the cast. Of course, Yuulin has to be always on her toes since Gen has a tendency to test her motives. Well, with Yuulin's character, I think she will pass with flying colors ^^ I think Reishou wants to keep things natural for her to like him that is why he keeps up the act and he hasn't really made her into a real princess. I tend to think of it as a leeway for her to 'leave' if ever things don't work out for them rather than she being forced to live there with no way out especially since she isn't used to that kind of lifestyle. That is of course, something she verified herself. It is indeed easier to be oneself without all the pretension, hypocrisy and etc that are associated with court life. Anyway, she didn't realize that if that day does come, when she can comfort him and no longer fear him..that might be the day, too, wherein she'll be his real princess ^^

Chapter 5: It is once again another tense atmosphere at the government affairs building. “As the king’s temporary bride, I, Tei Yuulin, am currently in what one may call as a ‘glaring competition’ with the king’s temporary assistant, Ryu Houen.” While Yuulin and Houen are busy in angrily glaring each other off, one of the officers nervously tells Reishou that they have data about new techniques in planting wheat which could increase its yield. Looking at the two, Reishou says that’s good work. He then calls out to Houen who is surprised. He orders Houen to quickly summarize a report about it. Houen bows and says that he will. Yuulin is also startled when Reishou calls her. He smiles at her and says that she looks tired so how about going back to the harem to rest. “When I go there, I want you to meet me with a really cheerful smile.” Yuulin blushes over this and says, yes. Frowning Houen and others look at her. While walking with her female escort, Yuulin thinks that even if Reishou said it tactfully, but she is being driven away. Holding some documents, Houen sees her and makes a remark that since she is heading back to the harem, won’t it be very nice if she’ll always stay deep within and not go out at all. Yuulin just puts on a smile and tells him that she’ll be heading back first for today so goodbye. They exchange glares. Yuulin mentally gets angry at him that he would her as the princess a glare. At the harem, Reishou happily says that it seems that as day passes by, their situation [Yuulin and Houen] gets worse to worst that everyone are becoming scared of them. Yuulin angrily shouts that she cannot help it since Houen kept on glaring at her. Jun sighs and says that Houen had already asked him thrice for Yuulin to stop coming and going to the government affairs building. Jun asks Reishou what to do about it. “Before you said that ‘because [I’m] too busy to go to the harem, bring the princess to stay at the government affairs building so that [I can] keep watch on her for her safety’ but right now, being busy at work isn’t at its peak anymore, can the princess go back to her normal life..” In pleading puppy mode, Reishou says, “But, if Yuulin isn’t around, I’m not that enthusiastic to work. I find administrative work boring..”

To Yuulin’s shock, Jun tells her to just do her best and endure [Houen]. Reishou muses out loud that Houen is a big help to him and he doesn’t want to lose him and he was one of the first who’ll talk with [/accept] him as the Wolf King. Yuulin darkly thinks that Houen who doesn’t know Reishou’s puppy mode, yet he admires Wolf King and is very much satisfied with Reishou. Yuulin tells Reishou not to mind that for this is work related so she’ll resolve it on her own. Reishou tries to protest but Yuulin tells him that she is just hated and she isn’t in any mortal danger so, there ought to be a way to handle it. After a pause, Reishou tells her that if there’s any problem, she should quickly inform him about it. Yuulin smiles and says that it is alright. Yuulin thinks that she should not depend on Reishou regarding this matter and just treat it as work just like how a princess ought to do. Yuulin decides to do it one step at a time. The next day, Yuulin smiles and greets Houen a good morning. She is delighted that he greeted her back until Houen tartly tells her that even if she smiled radiantly at him, it won’t benefit her in any way. With a frozen smile, Yuulin says is that so and she doesn’t like doing things that have no effect. Glaring at him, Yuulin angrily asks, “--But, do you think you’ll score a goal by speaking sarcastically to the princess?” The two other officers with Houen look tense. Later, Yuulin laments that she couldn’t do it because she has to retreat when she’s provoked since her status isn’t that high. Later on, while doing her maid side job work, Yuulin angrily mutters that in the end, she wasn’t able to disrupt him from work. [<- he’s too busy to talk?] “Ah- geez! What’s up with that guy, as if he’s some amazing kind of guy! No matter what is said, I’m still the princess!” Gen tells her that she doesn’t even have a little bit of persuasiveness. While eating a meat bun, Gen tells her that Houen’s father is Minister Ryu and he was a very capable man since former generation of the late king. “So in reality, their family clan’s influence is really great. Then, on the other hand, your only advantage is that you are doted on by His Majesty yet you are a princess with a small role. [The words are a bit small but I think Gen is saying that she is a newcomer] You’re a princess who can be fired at any time. So, fundamentally, you’re really insignificant. Yet, you want to be strong.”

Yuulin looks really angry. Gen looks at her with a smile and says, “If you’re that frustrated, I have a way for you.” Somewhat unbelieving, Yuulin asks what it is. Sparkling, Gen slaps her back and exclaims, “Of course, it is to quickly get His Majesty into the palm of your hand and give birth to a prince! If everything goes smoothly, you’ll be the ‘next king’s mother’!” Yuulin gloomily tells him not to bring up that kind of plan. Gen asks why not for isn’t it a good idea and she could also write off her debt. Yuulin tells him that she doesn’t want to become that kind of person. Gen smiles and tells her that it is a position that everyone is envious of. “No matter what it is, if you only desire it, you’ll get it--” Later on, while Yuulin is walking with her female escort, she remembers Gen happily shouting ‘heir, heir’. =P She sighs and gloomily thinks that Gen didn’t tell her clearly about the risks and he’s only playing around with her by strongly telling her the advantages. “It’s absolutely a trap..I shouldn’t be at ease with gramps.” Then, she meets up with Reishou who is also walking at the hallway. While waving his hand to dismiss his cohorts, he tells Yuulin that it’s already quite late. Yuulin apologizes and says that it is because she’s engrossed in chatting with Gen. Reishou smiles and asks if she heard anything interesting. Yuulin blushes. Just when he is about to touch her, Reishou is surprised when Yuulin suddenly exclaims that it’s nothing. Reishou calls out her name [<- you’re acting suspicious] but Yuulin insists that it is nothing. She says that she just said a few days ago that she’ll ‘do her best not to be afraid of him’ and right now, she is doing her best. Yuulin wonders why her heart is beating so fast. After a pause, Reishou puts on a smile and says, “Is that so.” Yuulin continues to blush then looks away thinking that it is just an act..she tries to convince herself it is an act. “It’s the same right now. He is very strict with the officers but towards the princess, he really pampers but, that isn’t what I want--” Houen sees them and he scowls in disapproval.

While walking, Yuulin thinks that even if she said that she’ll deal with this on her own but at this time, she still ought to talk with the person himself. “We should discuss between ourselves regarding our viewpoints until we’re satisfied. Then I’ll--” She stops when she overhears someone in the room praising Houen about being dependable [because of his family] for everyone is very troubled because of Yuulin’s presence but just thinking of how His Majesty would stare at them, they would cower in fear. Yuulin thinks that she shouldn’t eavesdrop and it seems that Houen has many supporters. She is about to leave when Houen asks if this has anything to do with his family. “When the master is walking in the wrong path, isn’t it the officer’s duty to advise him in order to straighten him up? Before you people praise me, shouldn’t you be ashamed of ourselves for not doing your duty to the fullest.? I have nothing good to talk about, with you people.” Everyone looks tense and embarrassed as Houen stands to leave the room. Yuulin is surprised upon learning that Houen treats anyone like that..very blunt. She then notices that Houen has seen her. Houen tells her that everywhere, there are groups of people who’ll flatter influential officers. “Those people want to use other people’s power [/influence] in order to intimidate other people [with their powerful connections]. His Majesty is very intelligent so he won’t let that kind of person stay by his side forever. ..don’t let the success get over your head. Pampering you is just momentary hallucination. By yourself, you fundamentally do not have anything that ought to be doted on. [<- if you’re not the princess, you’re nothing] It’s for the best that you remember this a bit.” Houen then leaves a stunned Yuulin. Yuulin thinks that cold stare of Houen meant ‘I’m not the same with you’. “..you’re wrong, I just came here to work..from the very start, I wasn’t doted on. The ‘Wolf King’ that Ryu Houen sees is actually the hallucination--” While she is in deep thought, Reishou passes by. He sees her then, approaches her. He asks her what’s up. Yuulin snaps out of it and says it is nothing. She wonders what this feeling she is experiencing. “I’m very envious of him who believes in the ‘Wolf King’ no matter what the circumstance is.” Noticing her expression, Reishou asks again if something happened. Yuulin continues to say that it is nothing. Reishou asks if it is Houen and did he say anything to her. Looking tense and flustered, Yuulin denies it.

After a pause, Reishou says, “—it is because you said that it is alright so I prioritized in taking him into account, but..if you are hurt [by him], that is all together a different matter. What do you want me to do? ..Yuulin.” Yuulin looks surprised as she looks at him. She thinks that from his voice, it seems that she is being doted on/pampered. “It seems like he is saying, if I only ask for it and rely on him..no matter what it is, I can have it.” While Reishou is holding her hair, Yuulin says, “--Your Majesty.” Later on, two officers who were with Houen are putting some documents inside some empty water jugs. One of them angrily says that just because Houen got special treatment from the king that he could say that it has nothing to do with his family. “He thought that everything is all because he depended on his own strength. The son of [an official of the] Ryu family is still quite arrogant.” The other person asks if it is alright to do that since that is the report that His Majesty personally.. The officer says that if there is anyone to blame, it should be the one who just carelessly left that important documents where others can get it. “We are just hiding it so it ought to be alright. We’ll just make him commit a mistake so that he’ll be reprimanded by His Majesty once in a while. Ha ha ha” They didn’t notice that Yuulin overheard them. Yuulin goes in the room and asks what they are doing. The officers look tense as they call out to her and say that they just wanted to pull off a prank. “Wasn’t Ryu Houen’s attitude also troubling you, Your Highness? Ah yes, it’s really good that Your Highness is with His Majesty--” Yuulin darkly says that each and everyone are all like that. The two officers look tense and puzzled. Meanwhile, Reishou is walking through the hallway while being followed by Houen. Houen tells Reishou, “And so, Your Majesty--” Reishou just tells him not to bother with it. Houen insists that Reishou ought to know clearly that there is a limit to a person’s desires. “Before Her Highness’ desires start to become too excessive and inflated, you should hinder her. Your Majesty has always been firm with other people but why right now--” He stops when he and Reishou notice Yuulin, together with the two officers, standing near the patio of the room in front of them. Yuulin darkly tells the two officers to kneel before her. The scared officers timidly say yes. They think that this is bad because Yuulin got angry and they will be in deep trouble if His Majesty learns of this. They kneel down and somewhat bowing at her. Yuulin angrily stares at them and screams her head off, “That not right--! It’s not kneeling then sit, it’s sitting with your body straight!” [<- I think she wants them to sit straight as she lectures them and not bowing because of her status] The two scared officers freak out and exclaim, “Yes--!” Reishou and Houen just look speechless over it.

Yuulin says, “..Ryu Houen is indeed very irritating. This one bit is of course, a fact. ..but, if one is to observe in detail as to what’s going on in the government affairs office, I can also see that he is a very outstanding guy. When he’s provoking me, he would also only insist on his own viewpoint. *Houen looks surprised* He doesn’t show off his family’s power, and what is this!? You guys are talking about him behind his back--” The offiers look scared and aghast. Yuulin remembers Reishou telling her that Houen is a big help and he doesn’t want to lose him. Yuulin thinks, “—that’s right, I’m very envious of him. Because he depended on his own strength to win His Majesty’s trust [and confidence]--” Yuulin angrily shouts, “You guys listen up! Right now, I’m in a fight with Ryu Houen. Don’t you guys interfere from here on and just be good and watch me [resolve this]!” Houen and the two horrified officers look surprised. Reishou smiles as he remembers what happened earlier. Flashback: After Reishou asked her what she would want him to do, Yuulin looked shock and flustered. She exclaimed for him not to spoil her. “I do not want acquire your help..What I want is to lend some strength to you.” End flashback. Yuulin continues to lecture the two that in a fight, what’s really fundamental is manners [/courtesy; fight fairly]. “Remember that, okay!” The two say, “Yes!” Reishou somewhat smiles and tells Houen not to worry. “Look at her like that, not depending on me. Considerably not bad, right? My princess.” Houen just looks surprised-speechless at Reishou. Later on, Yuulin is surprised when Houen apologizes to her. “Since you sincerely and earnestly serves His Majesty, then what I said before isn’t appropriate, ..I’m really sorry.” Surprised Yuulin just says, “Ah, ya.” She wonders why he is suddenly conceding. Houen’s face sours and he exclaims, “But, regarding my dissatisfaction about you, that hasn’t changed at all.” After a pause, Yuulin says, “Really..” She wonders which is which really. Before leaving, Houen says, “When His Majesty is by your side, he would show an expression that I never knew [existed]. ..it really infuriates me.” Later on, Yuulin serves tea to Reishou. Yuulin tells him that even if Houen infuriates her but he is really frank and straightforward, and she also doesn’t feel that he’s really that irritating. Reishou looks at her then after a long pause, he says, “..maybe I ought make Ryu Houen resign?” [<- hehe, eliminating a potential rival] Yuulin goes into shock and exclaims, “..Ha?! Why do you suddenly say so, Your Majesty!” Narration: “—In spite of being envious of someone else, I still want to depend on myself, one step at a time, in getting closer to you.”

I think Reishou-Yuulin-Houen is an interesting concept wherein the two battle it out for Reishou’s trust and confidence rather than love =P Those two are acting like kids in their fight and hehe, I think Reishou is somewhat jealous, too. Hehe, it seems that Yuulin doesn’t know what he is implying at the end of the chapter. =P I’m beginning to find Yuulin quite likeable because it seems that she has a scary personality, too like Reishou..of course, it is vice versa since that side of her is hidden. Thanks to that, Yuulin isn’t the timid type and can ‘fight’ on her own. Hehe, I think that is part of the reason why Reishou is interested in her ^^ By the way, the real chapter 2 is already out in English scanlation. It is an important chapter so read it. Chapters 6-8 will be the introduction of the Han father-daughter and re-appearance of Touka, that maid who makes poisons/potions. Scans by xiuxiu for BW.

    Chitose, Etc [Chapter 19]
    Friday, October 15, 2010

Tadashi looks surprised upon watching Chitose eating her toast listlessly. Tadashi tells her that it seems that she has no energy at all when she was very excited when she got home last night so did something good happen. Somewhat tired-flustered Chitose says that he can say that but if she thought of it in detail, she feels that it isn’t something she can simply be happy about. Her brother looks puzzled. Back in her room, Chitose looks at the snow globe and wonders what to do. She had thought about it numerous times yet she couldn’t find the answer. She is glad that it is [winter] vacation. Her cellphone rings. It is a message from Yuki asking her if she can go out for a while. Chitose hurriedly puts on a coat and heads out of her apartment. Yuki is waiting for her outside at the hallway. He smiles upon seeing her. This made Chitose blush that she felt so embarrassed that she couldn’t dare face him. She is looking down while standing in front of Yuki. Yuki tells Chitose that he called Saaya. Chitose looks up to him and asks what happened then..what Saaya said. Yuki tells her that Saaya won’t agree and even said that she won’t break up with him. “It seems that it won’t do just on the phone and I should have talk to her face to face. I was so anxious that I wanted to quickly break it off, *Chitose looks sad* but in the middle of the conversation, she hung up on me...after that, I couldn’t contact her anymore. She also won’t answer any emails. *looking positive* It’s alright, perhaps it just takes some time, but I will absolutely make her agree to break up, wait for me.” Blushing Chitose unconsciously says yes. Yuki is delighted to hear this. Chitose is surprised that she covers her mouth. Yuki happily says that’s great because yesterday, she didn’t answer him. Chitose blushes really red. She then notices that he’s looking at her. He asks if he can touch her. Chitose freaks out over this. Yuki then takes it back and says that he’ll endure it until he totally breaks it off with Saaya. Chitose didn’t answer since her heart is still beating fast. Yuki then smiles and bids her goodbye. Chitose watches him go. She goes back to her room and lies down on the bed. She sweatdrops and thinks that her heart is beating so fast. She closes her eyes and thinks, “Sorry, Saaya, I’ve answered ‘yes’..but no matter what, in the end, I still like Yuki-kun. That expression in his eyes. That voice. For me to say that, [it’s like] whatever rationality that I have had already gone out and went to cloud nine...”

She snaps out of it when her cellphone starts ringing. She gets her cellphone and wonders if it is Yuki who’s calling. She goes into shock upon seeing that it is Saaya. She frantically looks left and right while wondering what to do. She decided to answer it for the time being. She answers hello. Saaya apologizes for calling her all of a sudden and is it a convenient time to talk. Chitose says that it is. Saaya tells her that she already heard about it from Yuki yesterday. “I also have some things to say to you, are you free tomorrow?” A bit aghast Chitose says yes. Saaya says that’s great and could Chitose go to her house since it isn’t convenient to talk outside. Chitose apologizes and says that she doesn’t have the confidence to take the train alone. Saaya says that right for it might be hard for her since there is a need to change trains. Saaya tells her that she’ll get a car to fetch her and they’ll meet around 2pm. Saaya then says see you tomorrow before hanging up the phone. Chitose sighs and felt a bit scared. “I’m afraid but I shouldn’t run away. I should first listen to what Saaya has to say then afterwards, I’ll honestly tell her of my own feelings. And it is only this way that we can directly confront each other..!” The next day, Chitose is standing at the corner. [From her look, it seems as if it is for a long time already.] She then hears a car door opening. She looks at the side and it is Saaya who apologizes for making her wait. Chitose goes to her and says that it is okay. Saaya says that there are a lot of one way streets that she got a bit lost. Noticing that Saaya is smiling at her, Chitose timidly asks if she isn’t angry. Saaya says why would she when Chitose didn’t do anything wrong. “Although I’m a bit angry at Yuki but it isn’t because he fell in love with you. *looking away* Rather, it’s because he’s breaking a promise..a promise of being together forever..” Chitose looks a bit flustered. Saaya turns and smiles again at her to say that they should go and Chitose should sit at the back. Chitose looks somewhat surprised at the young driver who is looking at her. In the car, Saaya asks the driver if they should use the expressway because of the traffic. The driver says that is true and they’ll just go below [underground?]. Chitose looks at the driver and wonders who he is. “Is he Saaya’s brother? It shouldn’t be because it seems that Saaya is an only child. Relative..? Neighbor..? She didn’t introduce us and is it okay for me to just sit in the car without a greeting..? .., forget it, I’ll just let it be..”

Then, the car stops in front of a house. Saaya tells Chitose that they are there. Saaya tells the driver that she’ll be troubling him again on driving Chitose back. “After I’m sure of the time, I’ll just send you an email.” The driver says, understood. Chitose blushes in shock upon seeing Saaya thanking the guy then kissing him on the lips. After the car drives away and Saaya waves goodbye, flustered Chitose asks her who that man is. Saaya tells her that he’s a college student who used to be her private tutor during junior high. “If I need to use a car, I usually call him.” Chitose asks her why she kissed him. Saaya asks why she is asking that when it is obviously her way of saying thank you. “Until now, you’re still shock by that? I also play around with others aside from Yuki. Perhaps, you already know about that.” Chitose says, “Bu..but, I thought it’s only Yuki.” Saaya answers, “How can that be, if it is so, then it’s so unfair.” Chitose tells her that it would even go to the level of kissing. Saaya says that a kiss is no big deal and didn’t she tell her about this on the day they first met. Chitose says that it’s very serious. Saaya tells her, “It is very serious if it is with the person one likes but if it is with other people, then it’s no big deal.” Chitose looks somewhat surprised over this. Saaya smiles and invites her inside. Inside the house, Chitose asks about Saaya’s family. Saaya says that they aren’t home for her parents are off at work. Chitose says that she brought a gift, sweets recommended by her brother. Saaya thanks her and says that she’ll eat them. Leaving Chitose in her room, Saaya tells her that she’ll go make some tea and Chitose can go sit wherever she likes. Chitose looks around at the room and thinks that Saaya’s room is like an adult’s since it is plain and simple. She thinks that the just now Saaya is really beautiful that she is moved by her and in the end, Saaya is really a bishoujo [beautiful girl]. She then spots a picture by the shelf. It is a picture of three kids in pajamas. Chitose happily thinks that it’s Saaya and Yuki..they’re so cute. She wonders if it when they were hospitalized since they are in pajamas. She thinks that the boy at the right side ought to be the one whom Yuka [Yuki’s sis] told her about. Saaya comes in with some sweets and tea. She exclaims if it’s very cute, five years ago of Yuki and herself. Chitose apologizes for looking at it without persmission. Saaya tells her not to mind it since she did plan on telling Chitose all about it. “Five years ago, I got a troublesome illness that needs a major [difficult and dangerous] operation and soon, I got confined in the hospital. That hospital has been testing the efficiency of a new drug and has been collecting data from the whole country’s patients regarding this illness. I, and two other grade 5 boys who were Yuki and Misaki are the ones in the picture.” Chitose happily says so that person is Misaki. She innocently asks if they still frequently see each other. Saaya suddenly looks sad and says that they cannot see each other anymore because Misaki’s surgery failed and he passed away. Chitose looks surprised over this. With a tear in her eye, Saaya says, “The success rate of the surgery is 70%. Even if I and Yuki were saved, it wasn’t a success with Misaki’s. In regards of betraying him, [I] also, until the end, wasn’t able to apologize to him..”

Even if Shun isn’t here, I feel sorry for the guy since Chitose can mentally apologize to Saaya but not him. ^^; Could it be that Shun really has no luck with girls? Now that Yuki mentioned it, ya, it isn’t good to try to break up on the phone. I feel he is a bit too laidback in a way since Saaya manages to get to talk with Chitose but he didn’t. Oh well, I’ll just attribute it to Saaya not answering his calls and everything. At least, it’s good that he won’t do anything with Chitose in the meantime until he breaks it off with Saaya for good. I guess he is really serious with Chitose for him to treasure her that way...when he is now calmer after the kisses last night =P It turns out that Saaya is also playing around ^^; I really wonder if it is really just up to kisses and nothing beyond that. I’m thinking if this is Saaya’s always busy parents’ fault that is why she turned out that way or because she is in showbiz, it could probably be a reason why she thinks a kiss is no big deal. It’s so obvious that she and Yuki isn’t a real couple anymore since there’s no love anymore and they are just hold on together by some promise. Okay..it’s more like guilt in Saaya’s part. How did betrayal got in the picture? It indeed makes me understand a bit why Saaya won’t let go or rather, she couldn’t move on..seems like she is punishing herself for something. I’m not too sure if Yuki has a part in this betrayal or it is just one sided on the part of Saaya. I'm thinking of the betrayal in terms of doing something behind the back and not betrayal as in surviving while the other died type of betrayal. Anyway, we’ll know their past soon and I guess for Saaya to tell Chitose and not Shun or anyone else, she is a real threat to that promise. I wonder if Saaya is really serious in all this or she is just acting. It does seems strange for her to be all smiling then suddenly becoming teary-eyed over something that had happened 5 years ago. Free Talk: Computer's Back + Footnote on Faster Than A Kiss [Chapter 37]
    Thursday, October 14, 2010

Sometimes, I feel as if I’m going to go crazy with computer repairs ^^; When I send it to the technician, it is ‘NTLDR is missing’ upon boot up but when it get there, it is no display. The technician said that the video card is just dirty. Okay, it is working now but does it mean that the original problem isn’t fixed? I noticed that my slave drive is also missing so maybe that crashed and the computer was booting from that hence that error message. Anyway, at least I got it to back up my files from the ‘my document’ folder. ^^

Here’s a little part of FTAK 37 which I think is really amusing and it isn’t covered in Ankemaybe’s summary. It might be 'important' later on. After they return home, Kazuma is looking at his fist while Fumino is reprimanding him not to do that [fighting with Shoma] again since Kazuma is Shoma’s elder brother and he’s a teacher. Reflecting over it, Kazuma timidly says yes and actually, perhaps this kind of thing will happen again, he’ll definitely be cool-headed.. Fumino says, “But..*hugs Kazuma from behind* I’m very happy! ..thank you.” Kazuma is saying, “Fumi..” While thinking that he’s covered with bruises, Fumino kisses the back of his neck. Then, Kazuma blushes and screams out loud when Fumino licks his neck. Lol Blushing Kazuma looks at Fumino who is sticking her tongue out. Smiling mischievously, she asks, “Sensei, your neck is very ticklish, right?” Kazuma nervously says, “Ah, wait, Fumino?” And, Fumino ‘attacks’ him again and Kazuma is laughing from being tickled. Kazuma exclaims that Fumino is also ticklish on her palm. Then, there’s more laughter. Taking out the first aid box, Teppei thinks that he’ll just prepare the bandages while they are doing some lovey-dovey. Then, in the last part, Kazuma says that he lost one of his contact lens and it is probably when Fumino hit him while they were in the ferris wheel. That is why Kazuma kept on missing his mark while trying to hit Shoma. Fumino nervously think that it’s good else Shoma would have been killed. So, the important thing is Fumino now has a way to counterattack Kazuma while they are doing the lovey-dovey stuff. =P Hehe, from kiss marks to licking hence, Fumino’s ending narration is, “Ah, more..convey some more. Since [we] can’t use a kiss, then I would wish you would use other ways to feel, all of my feelings.” Scans by wdsjznl/玉 for BW.

    Stardust★Wink [Chapter 21]
    Wednesday, October 13, 2010

Cover page: “When Her highness the princess has awaken, His highness the prince is..?” Anna closes her eyes as she remembers Sou asking her what a guy would feel if the girl one likes is told to date some other girl. She hears Sou’s footsteps as he walks in the hallway. Anna quickly runs out the classroom and shouts after Sou to wait and she’s sorry. “If you don’t want to date Ayane, about that.. no one is forcing you to go. I’m sorry, I’ve once again didn’t think and just acted..” Sou angrily turns toward her and shouts that she’s too noisy and quit following him. “This isn’t being forced because I do want to go. Ah-ya, I’m really anticipating Sunday already.” Anna says, “Not that, so I’ve said not to just let things go [and do as I’ve asked].” Sou angrily says that he isn’t letting go and there’s nothing to talk about. Anna is holding on to Sou as she tensely shouts for him to calm down. While Sou is angrily trying to get Anna off him, they met up with Nanoka and Aya. The two girls look surprised over the scene. [..okay Nanoko looked shocked.] Anna is aghast that they are there. Sou then smiles and tells Aya, “I’m eagerly anticipating Sunday. It has been a long time so let’s have fun together until it hurts.” Sou wakes away and leaves puzzled Aya. Aya tries to ask Anna what’s with Sunday. Nanoka is shaking in anger as she says, “What, just now..could it be that Nagase-kun..because it seems that there is no hope with Anna that he would want to go back to what it was before with Aya-chan? I cannot believe it!! Until now, does he think that in the end, it’s comparatively easy for me to permit Aya-chan [to be with him]?! It’s better for you to totally collapse after being treated poorly by the person you like. You poop!!!” Nanoka is breathing hard to catch her breath for shouting nonstop. The two girls are shock by her outburst while [I think] Anna imagines Sou being called poop. Anna asks Nanoka if in the end, the stuff about wanting Sou and Ayane be reconciled again is a lie. Anna thinks that about the two being twins is totally not true but then, does it mean that Aya-chan still liking Sou and Nanoka wants to support them are all..

Nanoka sighs and mutters if she has already been exposed. Nanoka admits to shock Anna that all of it is just a lie. “Because even if I really like Aya-chan but that poop Nagase-whatever, I utterly detest him. It would be better for that guy to become unhappy. Ah, but about you, I don’t hate you. In order to bully poop Nagase, I’ve used you. Sorry about that. But, I never thought that you’ll also believe that ‘separated twins’ story. I ought to say that Anna, you are really unbelievable!” Displeased Aya asked Nanoka what she meant by that. Nanoka goes into shock for she forgot that Aya is there with her. Aya sternly asks Nanoka what that change back to what it was before, date and separated twins all meant. “Nanoka, I didn’t say those kinds of things, right?” Flustered Nanoka is silent then mutters that Aya didn’t say.. Nanoka shouts, “It’s because Aya-chan won’t say anything to me!!” Nanoka then runs off while Aya tries to call her. While walking in the streets, Aya apologizes to Anna for she didn’t notice Nanoka was doing that kind of thing. Anna tells her that it isn’t something that Aya ought to apologize for. Aya says that it isn’t so because she is also at fault. “Ever since from the start, whenever I get along with other people, Nanoka would always be at loggerheads [/being difficult] with that person. Before while I was going steady with Sou, Nanoka would be difficult with and would always have emit hostility towards Sou. I didn’t know why she hated Sou so much, that until now, to my surprise, she still hates him that much.. Ah, but that going steady thing is really already in the past. *freaks out* We mutually parted ways amicably and there’s no hate [/grudge], it has totally ended and right now, there’s.. *thinking* what is good to say about this *flustered* Thus, this incident, [I] got in a quarrel with Sou, right?!” Anna somewhat laughs as she thinks that Aya is amusing. She tells Aya, “About—that, no, rather than saying that..Sou is angry because I only look at the thing in front of me..” Anna then looks depressed.

Wanting to cheer her up, Aya had an idea that she exclaims, “That’s right, Anna, you should also go [with us] together on Sunday!!” Anna is surprised and asks, “ ‘Together’..? Eh? You would really go on a date with Sou?!” Aya says that since things turned out this way, she wants to go on that date in order for her not to be tormented by this. “And, Anna, can you tell Sou that ‘actually, that whole date thing is also a lie’?!” Anna looks aghast as she thinks that she couldn’t. Aya says that’s right and she couldn’t do it either. Looking sad, she continues to say that Sou definitely wants to go on that date with no reason at all [/stubbornly] because he wants to protect himself.. Anna thinks that Aya is amazing because she really knows Sou well. Aya tells Anna, “Sou will definitely go on that date and let’s use it as a good opportunity for the two of you to make up!! I think it is more natural if I’m the one who clarify things to Sou.” Anna protests to the idea by saying that if she come along, she’ll be like a third wheel between them and Sou would definitely.. Aya says that they’ll just get another guy so that it would be a double date in order for it to ‘mean that it’s a nothing-has-changed type of date’. “I’ll ask HINATA.” Anna looks surprised. Aya is saying that if it’s HINATA then.. “Oh no, the bus has already arrived!! Sorry, but I have to ride that bus. You’re going to ride the train, right.” Anna tries to ask Aya which HINATA is she referring to but Aya just shouts that she’ll just contact her again before running off. Anna just sweatdrops and thinks that Aya just said, ‘ask HINATA’. In the bathtub, Anna wonders if Aya has already met Hinata and could it be it was when Aya is going steady with Sou. “Ah, no way. One would normally think that it is our class’ Hinata..the one who always sleep while sitting, and he’s a childhood friend with Nanoka and Aya. Hinata won’t specially come from Tokyo even if it is a distance wherein one can return within the day unless of course, he rides on the Shinkansen. It’s impossible for him to come but..” She remembers when she jokingly asked Hinata if something happens and she contacts him would he come to help even though they are living near each other. Hinata smiled and replied that he would, even if it’s far away. Looking sad, Anna thinks, “Hinata, come and help me..” After going out of the bathroom, she notices that she has a message. She is surprised to see that it is a message from Hinata – “I eagerly anticipate this coming Sunday.”

In front of Bandai City [that is located in Niigata so this might be the setting of the story], Sou looks speechless and gloomy. Aya is standing between the two. Anna looks at the side and thinks that the mood is really heavy. Sou darkly asks why the girl at that side came and just looking at the mood, she is really a hindrance. Anna goes into shock then recovers. She angrily says, “I’ve already said that what I did was wrong and I’ve already apologized so many times that I forgot how many times it was, yet that kind of attitude..still always being angry. In the end, you’re a small ass [type of] guy. No wonder you’re poop Nagase.” Aya nervous tries to stop them. Sou angrily answers, “Ha? How come you’re angry, too? As a girl, it’s really frightening that you can say ass and poop. In the end, you’re not a refined lady-like girl- In this way, Ayane, you’re really perfect *puts his arm around Ayane* unlike that person at that side.” Anna angrily shouts for him to quit saying ‘person at that side’. “Ayane, is Hinata coming?!” Aya says yes though it seems that he will be a bit late but he’ll be here soon. Sou goes into shock that Hinata will also come. Aya happily says that he’s already here. Waving out, Aya calls out to HINATA. After looking at the side, Hinata looks at Aya and calls out to her. Breathing hard from running, Hinata apologizes that he overslept. Aya says that she thought that would happen that is why she wondered in the morning if she ought to call him or not. Aya looks at the two and says, “He’s classmate with the two of you so you should know him. My childhood friend, Kazami Hinata--..” Aya stops midway upon seeing Sou and Anna’s shock faces. After a pause, Aya asks what it is. Crossing his arms, Sou wonders who that guy is. Aghast Anna nervously laughs and says, “Ah ha, is that so-- ‘HINATA’ originally meant Kazami-kun ☆” Sou sighs and says that ordinarily, one would think that Hinata won’t come. Wanting to cry Anna exclaims that even if it is like so but Hinata wrote to her that ‘I eagerly anticipate Sunday’. She quickly calls Hinata. Hinata is still in bed as he reaches out to his ringing cellphone. He groggily says hello. Anna exclaims, “Hinata?! Aren’t you coming here today?!” After a pause, Hinata asks what she is saying. Anna asks him what he meant about that ‘anticipating Sunday’ email. Hinata opens his eyes and tries to recall. He then says, “Ah..that meant that Kamimura [Paper village] Zoo will have a special on squirrels so I cant wait [to watch it.]..” [Okay, I’ll stick with squirrels instead of chipmunks as to what Coco is since wiki goes with squirrels, too ^^;]

At that time, Hinata is watching tv and saw the commercial that next time in Kamimura Zoo show, it will be a special on squirrels while Anna is crying for Hinata to sense that she’s in a crisis. End flashback. Anna is totally shock that she has totally misunderstood him. Hinata tells her that he isn’t good in writing long messages. Anna thinks, “It’s because I thought that Hinata will come that is why I came here relaxed..but us, four are...” Anna <-> Sou are in the middle of a quarrel. Anna <-> Hinata haven’t talk with each other before. Sou <-> Hinata have not greeted each other. Sou <-> Aya are ex-lovers. Aghast Anna says, “..Hinata, don’t you feel that you want to come here right now— or maybe, you feel homesick? Eh, Hinata..Hinata!? *Hinata has fallen asleep* Ah- wait!! Hello!!” Anna couldn’t believe that Hinata has fallen asleep while they were in the middle of a conversation. Aya apologizes to Anna for making her misunderstand and she should have clearly told her so. Anna timidly tells her that no, it isn’t her fault. Aya is happy that Anna had somewhat cheered up and that she ought to fully cheer up since they are going to have fun today. “Let’s go watch a movie. Everyone, what do you want to watch-?” Holding up his hand, Sou looks deadpan and says, “I want to watch the Pokemon movie.” Anna has an ‘I cannot believe it’ look while Aya exclaims that Sou still likes Pokemon. Sou asks why she said ‘still likes’ when he is going to like it forever. Anna looks surprised as she watches the two. Aya is asking Sou if he even watches the Pokemon movies. Sou calls her an idiot for if one doesn’t watch the movie, then one cannot subdue the elf. [<- I don’t know what he is referring to..a plot in the movie? or he got to watch them all =P] Aya exclaims is that so, that is why the kids are watching it. Anna thinks, “What-- he even said ‘there’s nothing to talk about’ when they are getting along really well.” While she is looking at them, Hinata is looking at her. Then, Anna glances at the side to see Hinata a bit flustered and surprised. He quickly looks away. Anna is puzzled. Aya goes to them and asks them what movie they want to watch. To Anna’s surprise, Hinata says that it is okay with him to watch Pokemon. Anna tries to say that she doesn’t quite understand Pokemon. Sou turns around and angrily says that person at that side to go can go watch some other movie. Anna is aghast as Aya shouts at Sou to wait and that’s enough. Sou hits Aya on the head and says that she’s too noisy. Anna looks sad. She thinks, “What-- what- I obviously came here today to make up with Sou..Sou’s such an idiot--” And, Hinata steals another glance at Anna.

Ah..Anna is is making one mistake after another. ^^; I like the fact that she ran after Sou and tries to apologize to him immediately rather than later on. Thanks to that, Nanoka’s lies are finally exposed. She is indeed very possessive of Aya and I guess Aya didn’t expect Nanoka would do something to that extent. Hehe, there’s a thin line between love and hate =P Aya seems to be a nice girl and I also think that she gets along with Sou really well. I wonder if Nanoka isn’t around, those two would still have gone steady. Well, getting along doesn’t really equate to love. Hehe, I guess Sou is being stubborn since he just wanted to ‘punish’ Anna for her mistake. The two really quarrel like kids and well, it’s really amusing that Sou still likes Pokemon. Also, for Sou to look that shock about the possibility of Hinata coming over, is it really shock or being scared that Hinata is going to reprimand him for quarreling with Anna again? =P Hehe, that was an amusing misunderstanding but because of that, I think there will be more interactions between Anna and Hinata later on. He really looks interested in Anna. Maybe, that is why he easily agreed to this double date. I wonder what his chances with Anna are. Anyway, if we merged these two childhood friend groups together, we have 3 girls and 3 boys. I wonder if the author plans to pair them up in one way or another. Well, if Hinata will start to court Anna, I wonder how things will turn out. I think that could verify if Hinata does like Anna or not since the other party isn’t Sou. Well, at least it will make Anna conscious of the other guys aside from her two childhood friends. She’s pretty though not too bright but still good-hearted so I think she can attract lots of guys who would dare to court her if Sou doesn’t play bodyguard. Hehe, well, I guess Sou cannot help it since Nanoka could easily make Anna believe a really outrageous lie. On a side note, I think Anna looks good in her outfit ^^ Maybe because she really dressed up nicely, thinking that Hinata is coming =P Scans by karen870509 for All★Wink漢化組

Reimei no Arcana -Dawn of the Arcana- [Chapter 20]
    Tuesday, October 12, 2010

[Free Talk: I won’t be updating the ‘latest entries’ at the left side for a while because my windows crashed last Sunday which is suppose to be an auspicious date ^^; The technician said that it is either repair or reformat. I’m still hoping to salvage some things from the ‘my document folder’ so I’ll wait until it’s confirmed before re-doing the ‘latest entries’. I’m currently summarizing using the old computer so for now, I’m doing the easy series since I cannot use it for a long time or else..like last night, it ‘died’ (no display) on me. Maybe it is overheating or something else ^^; but like a phoenix, it’s okay now ^^]

Nakaba is tense-surprised upon seeing Emilia heading towards her and Caesar. Nakaba stands up and asks why she is there. “It’s dangerous here! Quickly go back!” Emilia shouts that she doesn’t want to go back since she’s worried about her brother. Nakaba looks surprised as if she realizes something. “No good..if it’s like this, then it would be the same with what I’ve seen in the Arcana.. Future..can’t it be changed? Is that incident unavoidable..? If it’s not..then what’s significance of having this power..? Since the Arcana of time is called a miracle, then I should ask it, *she closes her eyes then opens it* please enable me to protect Emilia..!” Nakaba ‘sees’ a figure of Cain stabbing Emilia at the back. She snaps out of it when Emilia calls out her name. Emilia tensely tells her not to [suddenly] not talk and not to be that angry. Caesar tells Emilia that Belenus has gathered the Ajin-s and he is the commander. “The place where he is isn’t dangerous, you can relax.” Emilia still tries to protest but Nakaba already grabs her hand and starts walking away with her. While Emilia is calling out to Nakaba, Nakaba is wondering what’s up with that vision for she just saw.. She tells Caesar that she’ll bring Emilia to a safe place. Caesar tells her not to come back afterwards and to pay attention to their safety. Nakaba takes one look again at Caesar then walks away with Emilia. They haven’t gone far when they meet with up Cain who tells them that he will be troubled if they escape. Nakaba looks tense as Cain draws his ore sword because the one who stabbed Emilia is Cain. Somehow Caesar is with the girls again and he draws his sword. Cain shouts for the soldiers to kill those three. The soldiers appear around them. Cain says that he won’t let them escape and they ought to abandon this futile resistance since they are surrounded. Caesar tells Nakaba that he’ll engage his brother so she and Emilia should quickly escape. Caesar shouts, “Move” then crosses sword with his brother in order for Nakaba and Emilia to run away. Cain shouts for the soldiers not to let the girls escape and they should chase after them.

While running, Emilia trips on a tree root. A solider behind her says that she can no longer escape. He is about to slash her but Nakaba quickly runs toward the soldier and pushes him away. The soldier drops his sword. Nakaba shouts for Emilia to quickly escape. Nakaba takes the sword that the soldier dropped. She is determined not to let Emilia get killed. She attacks the soldier who blocks her using his armored arms. While Cain is fighting Caesar, Cain suddenly shouts for his soldiers to surround Caesar. Cain tells Caesar that he’ll deal with him later. Cain rushes off and it is Caesar’s turn to shout for him to wait as Caesar is busy fighting with the other soldiers. Still busy fighting the soldier, Nakaba is surprised when Cain passes by her. Cain shouts for the soldier to quit dawdling and quickly deal with Nakaba, and he’ll go finish that other girl. Emilia looks scared when she sees that Cain is running after her. Nakaba shouts, “No--! Don’t, Prince Cain! Don’t kill her!” The soldier is surprised when Nakaba suddenly starts running to where Cain left. Cain manages to catch up to Emilia as he grabs her wrist. “I caught you.” Cain corners frightened Emilia to the tree. [I think it’s really scary since Emilia can read his heart.] Cain tells her that she should have been nice and returned to the city.. “..By the way, since the very start when you were young, I’ve always didn’t like you, little brat. Always looking scared when you were looking at me. At times, you’ll have this pitiful look [towards me]. You guys are the stumbling blocks for me to become king...so, why don’t you just die.” Emilia looks really scared.

Caesar is running towards their direction as he shouts for his brother to stop. Cain is about to swing the sword when Nakaba jumps in front of Emilia. Emilia looks shock as she calls Nakaba’s name. Cain and Nakaba look at each other’s eyes then suddenly, Cain is shaken. Nakaba looks surprised as drops of blood splatter on face. She sees a sword protruding into Cain’s stomach. She then sees Loki behind Cain. Yes, Loki just killed Cain. Everyone looks shock except for Loki who just looks serious. Loki pulls the sword out and Cain collapses on the ground. Nakaba keeps on calling out to Cain and telling him not to die. Nakaba is thinking, “Why? Why? I have seen Prince Cain’s future, together with Louis and a child, living happily, so, he couldn’t die..he won’t die--..” Nakaba [I think] says that he’ll attain happiness. Cain opens his eyes and sees Nakaba looking down at him. He thinks, “Red haired princess..it would have been good if I’ve met you earlier on. Even if mama knows that her position as queen is snatched away from her, she’ll still smile. Seeing me with a twisted heart, she’ll definitely be heart-broken... I obviously knew my younger brother is innocent, but if I didn’t hate one person, I couldn’t live on.” Crying Cain reaches out his hand to Nakaba who still have some of Cain’s blood on her nose. Cain mutters, “I’m very sorry..for injuring you..I wish you happiness..” He then closes his eyes and died. Nakaba looks surprised as she thinks that she isn’t injured. While Loki seems to be wiping the bloodied sword with his cape, he tells Caesar, “..I’m very sorry, Prince Caesar, I killed your brother..because I’ve prioritized Princess Nakaba’s safety..” Caesar tells him to forget about it because if Loki didn’t do it, he would have done the same thing. Nakaba is thinking, “But, I’m not injured, because...because Prince Cain didn’t swing down that sword. At that time, when he saw me, his sword, stopped. [<- he hesitated] *crying* It’s because of me. It hurts..so much, that I wished he had sliced [me] down [with] his sword.” Later on, the soldiers are wondering where Cain and the others are. Then, they see Caesar carrying Cain. He puts Cain down on the ground and placed Cain’s hands on his chest. While turning to leave, Caesar says, “..please, bury him. Goodbye, brother--...”

Just like Nakaba, I’m caught off guard by this because of Nakaba’s future vision regarding Cain’s happy ending. I guess we now know that this author can kill off a character. It’s really ironic that he got killed by the sword that he is supposed to test out. Cain is indeed such a tragic character that I feel somewhat like Emilia who doesn’t like him for what he is doing yet feels sorry for him because of the circumstances that made him that way. Too bad that he is too focused on hatred and ambition yet somehow, deep down inside, he did know what he is doing is wrong. He probably just ignored it and wanted to get the things he feels is entitled to him and hated those whom he feels are the cause of his unhappiness. Too bad, he finally stops and reflects on things when he is dying since it is obviously already too late. If he feels like hating someone, why not hate the king or those who agreed to strip his mother’s title away. Geez, picking on an innocent little kid brother..I guess Cain is just like that. He can only pick on the ones ‘smaller than him’ else why would he run after Emilia and not fight it out with Caesar? I’m sure the other soldiers could have deal with Emilia. I guess it is really unfortunate for Cain to have not met Nakaba earlier. On a side note, Loki and Caesar are quite lucky that they met her earlier and they’ve changed because of/for her. I feel Nakaba’s pain. She is probably wishing that she didn’t know see Cain’s future because, that is all gone with her interference. I guess if she’s calmer, she can somewhat think if it is better if Emilia have died or Cain...though, she would probably be thinking of a lot of ‘what ifs’. It is now verified that the future that Nakaba sees through the Arcana can be changed but then, what it changes into, doesn’t necessarily mean a good ending since there is a consequence of something else happening. I wonder if that will make Nakaba a bit more scared of using the Arcana..though at times, it just activates on its own.

About the stabbing, I’m thinking that there is actually other ways to stop Cain but I guess Loki probably snapped at that time since a royalty, son of the hated king, is about to kill Nakaba that is why he just stabbed him fatally. I wonder why Caesar had to specially bring the body back to the soldiers for them to bury. Won’t the soldiers think that Caesar killed him? I guess this is for the best since it will be really complicated and bad for the Ajin-s if they knew that it was Loki who killed Cain. They cannot really punish Caesar for it since he is the next in line for the throne. Hm..I wonder if their country will be in big trouble if Caesar goes into hiding or runs away because they won’t have any heir unless they are okay to make anyone, who doesn’t have the bloodline into the king. Hehe, I guess it is really too bad for Louise that she/her father picked the wrong prince to root for. No matter what, Caesar is now one step closer to becoming king and in turn, they are a step closer in having the power to change the system. Well, I’m guessing that the next part is all about grief..most probably on Nakaba’s part who knew Cain’s past and possible future. I feel that she is the only one who can totally grieve for him because Cain doesn’t have any allies, friends, whatever at the castle..and I highly doubt that his father will, either but who knows, maybe the author will surprise me like what happened in this chapter. Koibana! Koiseyo Hanabi [Chapters 66-67]
    Monday, October 11, 2010

While flustered Hanabi looks down at Chikai who is by the river side, she muttered her confession. Nanpa looks at her and wonders if she just said something. Hanabi thinks that she is obviously there yet the distance is too far and her voice couldn’t reach him. Cleo sees Nanpa. She barks and is about to rush toward him but Chikai holds her leash to restrain her. Turning to look at Chikai, Cleo thinks that he’s too cruel [to do that]. Hanabi says something. She wipes her tear then walks away. Cleo barks at Chikai <- asking him why when they rarely meet and he’s too cunning since only he and Hanabi get to talk with each other. “Eh? Chikai doesn’t seem to be saying anything. Could it be for humans..what Hanabi said just now..you weren’t able to hear it?” Chikai looks away as Cleo looks above, thinking of Nanpa. While Hanabi and Nanpa are walking back, Nanpa is complaining why it became like this when they went out to play yet Hanabi doesn’t look happy which makes him feel really unsatisfied. He then looks at flustered Hanabi. Narration: “So called distance implies that one couldn’t convey to the other. It isn’t a space wherein one can mutually convey with each other..from one person to the other person..” At Alon store, Gen is fixing the display of his products outside. Sasa passes by him and calls out to him to apologize for his rudeness that time before [when he shouted that he’ll decide what to choose and not to sympathize if he is hurt by his choice]. “If I made you unhappy about it, I apologize. Please forget about it.” Sasa stops walking when Gen says that he won’t forget. “I won’t go and forget about it. But, I want you to hear out something as to what attracts and arouses me. *smiles* It’s my very beautiful wife.” Sasa looks a bit flustered as he turns to look at Gen. Walking in the school corridor, Atsumi brightly smiles at Sasa. Then, Sasa somewhat smiles before smiling brightly back at her.

There is a scene of Hanabi sadly looking down to Chikai who is walking with his friends at the hallway below. Narration: “It is impossible to have a good ending if one is to keep maintaining this kind of situation. For one step closer, what does one have to do? For one step closer, fighting for one’s greatest happiness.. Compared to now, I have to bring forth lots and lots of effort.. Yes, that is what I’ve been praying for--” There is a scene of everyone doing their projects in school. At home, Kareshi’s mother asks if Kareshi is looking at the albums again. Kareshi says yes. Her mother comments that she has been looking at them more frequently lately. Kareshi says yes again. Kareshi tells her mother that from the time of her mother’s wedding to the time she and her siblings were born, it is obviously that life is becoming more and more difficult yet her parents always have a smile on their faces. Her mother asks if Kareshi thinks that they even have the time to be sad and depressed. Kareshi just says ‘[you did a ] good job’. [<- said after a hard day’s work] Her mother smiles and says, “About this, hardship is really hardship. Never ending housework, accompanying the kids, working part time. Your father is working nonstop from morning till night. But, because I’m with your father that I was able to have enough strength to do it all. If it is ‘for myself’, perhaps sooner or later, I would have totally exhausted myself. Because it’s ‘for others’, so I was able to keep on having this strength to go on.” Kareshi looks surprised about this.

The scene changes to Mii who is doing something with the tool bag that Shinichi gave her. Her mother says that she has always been carrying that tool bag. Mii tells her that it is a ‘small convenient tool bag’ and actually, it isn’t that convenient at all and she didn’t use any of the tools on it. She tells her mother that the chain is broken. Mii thinks that she only has to slip the bead in the hole to lock the chain but she couldn’t do it. She becomes very frustrated that she throws the chain away and exclaims that it is too troublesome when that guy obviously was able to do this kind of thing easily. She seems to be trying again to put the chain again. She mutters that it is easy for Shinichi to do that troublesome type of thing. Then, at her room, Atsumi weighs herself on the scale. She looks flustered, surprised and teary-eyed. Narration: “It won’t do if it’s only the brain. It won’t do if it’s only the heart. It also won’t do if it’s only the body. One has to use the brain, the heart and also the body..in going for love.” Hanabi looks surprised when her three friends exclaim, “It’s decided..[time to] Move!” Then, the three girls head out of the classroom. Hanabi looks at them and thinks, ‘[What about] me--?” Hanabi fixes her bag and thinks, “I couldn’t move. –no, I know. It is I do not want to move.”

At the shoe lockers, Kareshi calls out to Masato. Masato asks if she is going home already. Kareshi tells him that she wants to tell him her answer regarding his proposal. Flustered and surprised, Masato asks if she’s going to do so, here, right now? Kareshi bows to him and says, “I’m sorry.” Masato goes into shock while the other guys look at her wondering what’s up. Kareshi continues to say that she understands what Masato is saying wherein after marriage, they will attain both of their parents’ love and they will compliment what the other person lacks. “It’s a very blissful situation but that will only give us the foundation of having the same class. If we marry, you will have to strive really hard in order for it to be okay.” Masato shouts back that it is okay. Kareshi says that it isn’t only that, marriage will bind you. “Your ‘striving hard’ will become like an existence of fulfilling your obligation. Can the current Masato undertake that?! No! Being impulsive [/an amateur] won’t do at all!!” This hits Masato like a slap. Flustered Masato says that even if he is being impulsive but his love for her surpasses a hundred people. Kareshi shouts, “Only one hundred?!” Masato shouts back, “A hundred million!!” Kareshi exclaims, “Only that much?!!” Flustered Masato exclaims back, “It’s endless-!!!” He goes into shock when Kareshi’s fist is right in front of his face [as if she is going to punch him]. Blushing Kareshi holds a ring with a flower on top and says, “Me, too.” Masato mutters that it is the ring he gave her. He takes the ring and says that she brought it. Bowing down, Kareshi says, “..so, there’s no need to marry immediately. Let’s temporarily maintain this ‘give up’ situation for some time. If it is still the same and you couldn’t forget. You still [want to] continue on striving hard for me. Until then, will you marry me.” While prostrating down, Kareshi is already holding up her hand for him to put the ring on her finger. Masato looks flustered.

Chikai and others are surprised by this. Crying almost invisible Shinichi exclaims that he also wants to marry Mii. Chikai is surprised as he asks why he suddenly became lively. Before leaving, Shinichi tells Chikai that more or less, that would also how Chikai will end up into. Chikai looks dark and aghast while the other two friends are speechless-sweatdrop. Chikai then looks serious-thoughtful. Outside the school building, Shinichi calls out to Mii who is going towards him. Mii calls out to him as glasses. Just when Shinichi is about to say something, Mii grabs his hand and says that they are going. At Oyama residence, Mii introduces herself to Shinichi’s mother. Looking aghast and angry, Mii shouts, “Actually, I’m currently going steady with Shinichi-kun. Sorry for being rude for visiting all of a sudden.” Shinichi is freaking out that Mii actually said it though her expression doesn’t seem to jive with what she’s saying. Later on, they are inside his room. Shinichi nervously welcome her in and tells her to sit wherever she likes. Looking out the window, Mii says, “Geez..because it’s like, that I feel it’s troublesome. I’ve fallen in love and it has become for real.” Almost invisible Shinichi says, “..just now..*holding her shoulder* didn’t you hate this?” Turning around, flustered Mii is teary-eyed and annoyed. She says, “It’s really troublesome.” Shinichi looks flustered and is no longer invisible. Mii smacks him on the face and says, “It’s because I think you’ll be happy that is why I did it. And, I always feel that those troublesome things would just become more and more so what is this [<-this visiting is nothing]. This kind of thing, isn’t it very obvious!!” He then hugs her.

At some planted area in school [not sure if it is the secret path], Atsumi holds out her hand to Sasa and says, “Please be my friend!!” Sasa says that she surprised him and weren’t they already friends. While they shake hands, Atsumi says, “No-- more closer than that. *Sasa looks surprised* We’ll go home together after school. [We’ll] go out together during weekends. When we are in pain, we’ll be at each other’s side and listen to the other’s suffering.” To Sasa’s surprise, flustered Atsumi carries him [princess-style] and says, “Support each other. Boy or girl, no matter which [gender] would support you, shouldn’t matter, right? I want to support..” Atsumi then falls down since Sasa is too heavy. Sasa stands up and asks her if she is alright. Flustered while looking away with closed eyes, Atsumi says, “Sasa, I like you.” Sasa happily smiles and pulls surprised Atsumi up. Narration: “This isn’t about not being able to move but rather, it’s called a feeling of not wanting to budge that is making oneself unable to move.” Hanabi looks surprised upon seeing Yukine waiting for her at the corner of the street. She quickly hides back to her corner and starts wondering why ‘Yukine’ is there. She looks at her feet and thinks, “Ah..the feet that would want to head back but it isn’t good to just walk away and retreat.” Hanabi goes out of the corner. Yukine turns and looks at her. Hanabi pulls up her bag. She looks determined as she heads toward Yukine. Then, there is just a scene of Chikai at the side.

So, it seems that the author’s final lesson about love is when things are stagnant, you ought to take matters into your hands and do something about it or else, nothing will change and perhaps, what you have might be lost. That chapter is like girls making the moves =P Kareshi’s proposal is really nice. That is really something that one doesn’t often see in a series. Well, Masato did propose twice already and the third one turned out to be Kareshi’s. I’m surprised. I think she is really thinking of Masato and is aware of the fact that they are still too young to get married too soon. It does seem like she’s quite selfless for she believes that if they are really meant for each other, the right time will come and things will just fall in the right places. Hehe, Mii’s is a bit more forceful and grudgingly done so it isn’t that too romantic. I guess I’m happy for Shinichi. Atsumi’s is quite cute and amusing. She even wants to demonstrate about ‘supporting’ by literally carrying him. =P I think it would be interesting to see what it would be like if these two become a couple. I guess Atsumi finally reached her ideal weight that she can now stay by his side. From Sasa’s reactions, I think he ought to fall for her soon. Lastly, I guess Hanabi and Yukine are going to have a long talk for them to have a closure and finally move on. Hehe, won’t it be awkward if Chikai happens to pass by there? =P It would be a bit unfair if it is Hanabi who will do something again in the end so I hope that it will be Chikai or for them to do things ‘mutually’. Well, the next chapter is the finale and hopefully, it’s good ^^ Scans by wdsjznl/玉 for BW and Mercury Studio.

    Saturday, October 9, 2010

While Sumi is mentally asking Soichiroh to make her become his, Soichiroh is kissing her all over then he stops to ask her what happened for this isn’t in the least bit like her. Sumi looks flustered and tells him that there’s nothing at all. She looks sad as she remembers what Komai told her that her wavering caused that incident happened. She looks somewhat sad. Soichiroh looks surprised when Sumi sits up and keeps telling him that nothing happened. She is about to kiss him when he leans away from her. Soichiroh tells her that she’s acting too weird. “You ought to be really tired, so just sleep well for tonight.” Soichiroh pulls the blanket up to him and lies down to sleep. Sumi just looks flustered and says sorry. At the Kyujou residence, Natsuki is surprised to see Keiko waiting for him at the front gate. He asks her why she is there and this will make things difficult for him. Keiko asks if he meant that things will be difficult for him if his fiancee found out about this. Natsuki looks tense. He tells her that they go and talk at the back gate. At the back of the house, Natsuki tells Keiko that fiancee was set up by his parents and basically, there is no love between them. He pats her head but Keiko takes his hand off her. Keiko tells him that he told her before that he would always be single. Natsuki says that he originally planned to but because of some reason, he did this. “My era is fast approaching!” Keiko asks, “Era..?” While he holds her chin to kiss her, he tells her not to worry for even if he marries, he will still dote on her. Keiko looks away from him and says that she’s going home. He sighs as he watches her leave. He remembers his talk with Nozomu. Flashback: While Nozomu is sitting on the president’s chair, he asks Natsuki as to who is more suitable for that position. Natsuki looked tense and asked, “Could it be..Young master Nozomu wants to be president of Ashida Products..?” Nozomu smiled [<- evil type] at him. Nozomu stood up and said that he’s just joking. Natsuki nervously laughed. He told Nozomu that on his side, he already had a thorough and pre-arranged plan in progress. Nozomu looked at him and said, “Is that so. I eagerly anticipate that day.” End flashback. Sitting in a room by the window, Natsuki drinks a glass of wine and smiles. He tells himself, “It won’t be long before ‘that day’ arrives..” At the old shack, the woman wakes up and asks what Eisuke is doing in the middle of the night. Eisuke is carrying a lot of his antiques in a blanket tied on his neck and his hands are carrying a huge vase. Eisuke nervously tells her that he feels that the room is a bit narrow and crowded. The woman tells him that he should just rent a bigger place for he had lots of money right now. Smiling nervously, Eisuke says that she is right but he is already used to living in this place which makes him feel more comfortable there. The woman tells him that she doesn’t plan on getting married into a broken down house. Eisuke tells her that’s enough and don’t talk about it anymore. The children wake up from the noise. The woman suddenly shouts as to why Eisuke is also taking her kimono away. Eisuke tells her that he’s in a hurry so goodbye. While the woman is calling for Eisuke, the children wonders what happened. Fuku has a bad premonition about it.

The next day, ding-dong, Sumi has a visitor. Sumi goes into shock that her visitor is Eisuke. She is about to call him brother but she quickly calls him by his name and asks why he is there. Sumi is terribly worried of the possibility of others knowing what her real relationship with him is. Eisuke tells her that he has something to talk about with her. Sumi nervously tells him to go in the room. Eisuke put on his charm by commenting that Sumi has cute-looking maids. Maid A blushes. In the room, maid A and B blush over how gorgeous Eisuke is. Eisuke comments out loud about the president’s [Soichiroh] house being [nice and huge] like that. Keiko tells Sumi that she’ll go prepare some tea. Sumi exclaims for her not to prepare it anymore. Keiko tries to protest but Sumi just ask her and the other maids to please leave the room. After they left, Eisuke asks why she did that when he is thirsty. Sumi shouts at him ‘Bro’ [quit doing this]. Eisuke tells her not to be so panicky for he’ll leave after he finishes his business with her. Sumi seriously looks at him and asks if it is about money. Looking somewhat surprised, Eisuke denies it by saying that his work is going smoothly and their evaluation of him is very good. “This time, I want to rent a new place and I want you to be the guarantor. *pointing at the document* You just have to sign here and it’s done.” Sumi asks what’s written on the document above [the place where she has to sign]. Eisuke tells her that it is the conditions for the rental. He urges her again to just sign and then, he’ll quickly leave. Sumi is a bit suspicious. She holds the document and says that she’ll get Soichiroh to read it tonight. Eisuke asks why. Sumi says that it might be a strange IOU [loan contract/receipt] and that would be problematic. She is surprised when Eisuke shouts, “I need your signature right now!” He then says that it is a really great place and it is very near the kids’ school. “Please, Sumi, this is for the kids..” To Eisuke’s delight, Sumi finally relents and agrees to sign it. He exclaims that it is a great help. Sumi looks at him and asks, “What?” Smiling Eisuke says that it is nothing and he’s just very happy that they can rent a new place. Holding up the document, Eisuke happily thanks her as he leaves. Waving goodbye, Sumi smiles and feels a bit hesitant leaving from that old shack [<- for old time’s sake]. She wonders what the new place would be like and would the kids like it.

The next day, at the company, Sumi just finished a meeting with her shogi meeting. She closes the door and thinks that it is fortunate that Nozomu isn’t there. Then, she hears a loud knocking. She looks at the side to see three men holding someone as they bang the door and calling out for Natsuki. Just then, the trio of Soichiroh, Nozomu and Natsuki arrive. Soichiroh says that it is the guy from Shuei firm [formerly Shueisha]. The bearded guy calls out to the president and vice-president to hear him out. He tells them that from Natsuki’s group, this guy brought in a really absurd document wherein they are asked to wait for a period of time before they can get the funds. Natsuki exclaims what he just said. Sumi looks shock since that man caught is her brother. Natsuki asks Eisuke that he gave the money of Shuei firm to him so why didn’t he hand it over yet. Soichiroh looks surprised when he notices that Sumi is also there. He asks why she is there. Sumi says that she went to the shogi club. Natsuki asks, “Kitamura, you didn’t..embezzled the money, right?” The others are surprised. Sumi is really disappointed as she remembers Eisuke telling her that he’ll do his best for the children. Natsuki continues to question Eisuke as to what kind of foolish thing he just did for is he trying to put their company into shame. Eisuke just kept silent. Nozomu looks at the document and says that in the document regarding the deferment of payment of the funds, there is the signature of the president’s wife [as guarantor]. Soichiroh and Natsuki are surprised. Sumi looks really flustered as she realizes that it is the document that Eisuke asked her to sign yesterday. Nozomu asks Sumi why that document has her signature on it. Sumi looks flustered and scared. Eisuke looks surprised tense[?]. With a proud look, Natsuki asks Eisuke as to what is his relationship with Sumi. “Won’t you say anything, Kitamura?” Sumi looks tense as she mentally tells her brother not to say it. Soichiroh also looks tense. In the end, Eisuke raises up his head and angrily shouts, “..Sumi..Sumi is my younger sister! Do you have any objections, bastard!” And ya, everyone has a surprised look and that small part seems to be Nozomu.

Hehe, what is one to do with Sumi for being so stupid and with Eisuke who has a tendency to shoot his own foot when things are looking up already? Ah, Sumi still lets her emotions get the best of her. Eisuke really knows how to deceive her. Just mention the kids and she’ll probably say yes to anything. Good intention + blindly doing things = digging one’s own grave. I guess Sumi really trusts her brother very much even if it is because of him that she is forced into this situation in the first place. It is indeed a predicament since after everything is said and done, he is still her brother. Unfortunately for her, Eisuke plans to save his own neck. It is either that or he is bringing them all down with him. ^^; Well, it still means lose-lose for both Sumi and Soichiroh. Eisuke really does have a jinx of some sort when it comes to money. He tends to waste/lose it in some way whether intentionally or not. I wonder if Sumi can still trust her brother after this. Oh well, that is probably the last thing she has on her mind because of the consequences of what Eisuke said. I’m thinking that the next chapter will be a real test for Soichiroh. Is he going to denounce Sumi and Eisuke to save himself and retain himself as the president or he is going to help her which will give Natsuki the proof that Soichiroh is an incompetent president? If it is the former, Nozomu can score big time if he is the one who’ll help Sumi and her brother. Well, the good thing about this chapter is Keiko turning down Natsuki. At least, there’s one girl in this series who isn’t going to blindly let a guy lead her around in circles anymore. ^^ Scans by 玉/wdsjznl for BW.
