Last Saturday night I was ‘caught’ by my uncle who urged me to go to the treat he is having for the visiting uncle. Good thing that it is after Naruto was being shown. So, we ate at a Chinese resto and unfortunately, it is mostly seafood so I didn’t eat much. I just went to my behaviorist mode to observe them to amuse myself. Then, we ate halo-halo [dessert of shaved ice, beans, some fruits and ice cream] after that we went home.
Yesterday, we went to Tagaytay [a mountain resort] and on the way there, we brought visiting uncle to Sonya’s garden. I got my lunch at McDo since I couldn’t eat the food there. I wandered about the place –the garden -while they are eating. Then, just when I returned, it rained really hard and the lightning had struck nearby. ^^; Visiting uncle was joking that so much for going there..only to see the rain. He asked that we should have listened to the weather news first before going. Sis’ hubby said that weather news here are quite inaccurate since if they say there is a typhoon and no classes, it is sunny and if they didn’t say anything, it was pretty flooded and students are stuck in school.
It mildly stopped for a while and we went to our destination. It was pretty foggy and with slight rain so we couldn’t see the view of the volcano at the lake. We wandered about a bit and decided to go back. It was a bit traffic on the way back and well, also on the way there since there was this bike race on the narrow road there. I was thinking why they have a race at a road where lots of vehicles would pass by and it is quite narrow so they have to have escorts – policemen-type.
We ate dinner at Shinjuku and much to my dismay, there are no longer any magazines in there. Only really old ones like from last year. I guess they no longer subscribe or something. We ate some ramen and went home.
In Naruto, it is now Neji vs Hinata. The first half is filled with Neji threatening Hinata and Naruto getting really angry that he shouted for her to fight Neji. Hinata was happy that Naruto snapped her out of it and prepare to attack. Lots of talk about their ‘white eyes’ and the two tried to hit each other. It ended with what seemed to be Hinata hitting Neji.
Finally, I had leveled-up enough to defeat Sin. Symoure was pretty easy to defeat that I couldn’t believe it. I was hoping to use Anima on him for a nice irony of his anima killing him. Hehehe Now, I’m wandering about that ‘city’ in Sin.
Ban: She actually got lost just like Ginji.
Hey, don’t embarrass me.
Ban: You always get lost in games.
Sigh. Well, I made Tidus from weakling to powerful almost the level of Auron. ^-^ And actually made Yuna more powerful than Lulu.

As of now, I’m still playing FFX – leveling up and still forgetting to watch ID. ^^;; I woke up early today to check whether the local channel would suddenly changed the schedule of SGRan but it was still at the same time. It is another kiddie detectives episode and the group of Saiyo is now three, including Naoki. They helped solved the crime of an impostor who is trying to be like Ran in order to destroy her reputation. They did it with the use of remembering the different episodes of their favorite detective show, Detective Kudo who was there at that time, too. They managed to get an autograph. In the end, it turned out that it was just a jealous boyfriend who thought that Ran is ‘brainwashing’ his girlfriend to forget about him.
I think Naruto is being paid attention by the local network with its story update advertisements and at times, showing the complete opening and closing credits. That is really rare. I managed to see the ending of the second season and it was quite cute. The Taiwanese channel doesn’t show the endings. About that ending, it features chibi Sakura and Ino singing as they, I think, singing of liking Sasuke but only Naruto looked back, the one they don’t really like. I thought that it would be interesting if I’m Ino and Asher would be Sakura. Bwahahahhehehehe...gomen, Asher, I couldn’t resist. =P
Ban:*with a huge hammer, beats =)Kat to a pulp* Sorry, I had been commissioned by Asher.
Hey! That isn’t your job description!
Ban: Well, we are the Getbackers – as in GET BACK at those people who tease our clients.
^^;
 Thursday, April 15, 2004 @ 03:25 p.m.
My uncle from my father’s side is already here. First thing he noticed like the other passengers, it is so hot here. My brother is right in saying that it would take about an hour for the processing and such.
Our high school batch president emailed saying something about people who wanted a refund and what others have to say about it. I was thinking that so far, I’m the only one vocal about it. Could it be that others are thinking of the same, too or did he just exaggerate? Nobody answered as usual since the ml is practically dead. I do think that it is also to his advantage if people would wanted a refund since it would be less problematic as to where to get the rest of the money for the publishing of a duplicate of a so called dummy yearbook which the school owns. I was a bit tempted to ask if the refund would include the interest that the money had incurred while it was being deposited. Hehehe
Ginji: I think you are hanging too much with Ban.
Is that so? Well, I finally researched on how to fight those super strong black aeons guarding the temples and it turned out that I have to level up the characters to the peak in order to defeat them. No wonder the other faq didn’t mention about this one, it was because I got the international version which was harder than the original one. I am not comforted that the Omega monster instead of having just 99t life had 999t life in this one. So, I called it quits with the side quests and just go to the ending...now, stuck at Sin. It opened its mouth and dead. Geez, aeons are useless since they cannot attack hard enough and their overdrives won’t work if it is far away. I need to finish this up soon so I might just cheat. Hehehe
Onizuka: You cheater!
Hey, you also ask for help from Yoshikawa. Speaking of GTO, I used to aspire to be like Kikuchi who can cg pictures so real that some people couldn’t detect that it was just all made-up. And not, porn pictures. It reminded me of a picture in the newspaper before about the actor president being with another person. The picture was obviously cg and done pretty bad. The background is plain blue and from the two figures, there is a slight white background around them. ^^;;

A new development in the election race. One of the candidates seemed to have backed out with the claims of health problems. He would return after a month or so but then, the elections would be over by then. I guess there is much glee over the incumbent president’s camp over this news since his share of voters might go to them. Well, I do think she might really win unless something happens.
My ego uncle is asking indirectly to my sister regarding her hubby’s distant relative. It is because the relative was a suitor of his daughter and wanted to check if it was true that the guy had a background of leukemia in his family. Sister said that it is true. So, the point of this, I guess having a health problem is a big deterrent to one’s love life. This isn’t something usually being tackled in love stories though – I’m not talking about something life threatening then one of them dies. The guy was said to have already survived it – almost died. Of course, ego uncle would nip that relationship to the bud.
Well, my parents had also mentioned that to me that I already had a handicap because of my frail health. The other day, I asked my mom how much would my medicine cost for a month. One kind of the meds would cost about 10t a month. ^^; That could be a monthly salary in a company. I jested with my mom what are the possible criteria of a person going to marry me – rich because the medicine are pretty expensive, orphan so that no parents would say that I’m damaged goods, and well, doesn’t really mind having a wife not good at taking care of him for it is more on vice-versa. Well, the criteria are too high so I would really ended up single forever. Hopefully, I won’t end up cranky like the others.
Ban: Just read lots of manga and watch lots of anime and you will be young at heart.
Ya..that includes playing console games and communicating with young people in the net. Hehehe
The latest arc on GB is about Ban and Ginji’s cases together. For now, they are fighting Fudou. I guess he had his hand intact there before. I really miss them already that I’m planning to go to Shinjuku and see if they have the magazine to browse on it. ^^; Sniff, even if I don’t understand Japanese. I do remember that I saw Rave there before and GB is in that same magazine. Mm..I might suggest to Asher that we meet at Makati sometime later. Hehehe No, it isn’t for the treat – in case you are reading. =P
Well, I’m skipping for now the last battle in FFX. I’m wandering about to do some side quests, which I can do and not the ones that are insanely hard. Of course, I cheated with the tips. Hehehe I learned that I did something wrong again by not doing things with the destructive spheres at the temples. I couldn’t go back since a black aeon at those temples kept on killing me with just one swift attack. I think I got a bug and made that money-greedy aeon, Yojimbo actually kill an aeon but the game froze. ^^; I tried to do it again but no luck. I wanted to get Anima and the other secret aeon.
 Tuesday, April 13, 2004 @ 08:45 p.m.
Opps...just remembered that there is ID tonight. ^^;; So, much for checking it out. An uncle from the US might stay with us starting Thursday so we are doing a little cleaning up of the house. In the end, my mother told me not to help out too much since dust can be equal to germs so it might not be good for health. Well, that is because I’m using some cleaning detergent. ^^;
As expected, I had killed off the flowering plant. I wonder if it was because it was too hot or I just kept on forgetting to water it during the day. I think I should just stick with cacti and low maintenance plants.
I surfed a bit on the other beams of Animax at Taiwan and Hong Kong, the ones they have that we don’t are Inu Yasha, Detective Conan, Touch, X movie[?], and She, the Ultimate Weapon. The one I haven’t heard of was She, the Ultimate Weapon. After researching, it is about a boy falling for a girl and opps, she was a weapon to be used during war. The reviews aren’t very good though. The rest of the shows are all the same so I guess that these anime might be shown here.
 Monday, April 12, 2004 @ 06:09 p.m.
Hehehe..I’m back. The last few days, siblings had been dropping by so I had been unable to use the computer lately. Today, I went to the office since the secretary was caught in traffic as many people are coming back to the city. We are shot back to reality when we read in the newspaper that some prisoners – from the group of the known kidnappers down south, had escaped. Mm..this isn’t funny anymore. There are about 50+ that escaped, for now, only 10+ are still out there. It is feared that they might caused some bombing and other types of terrorist acts.
I managed to watch Oh! Happy Day, which starred Chang Nara. It was not that good or not that bad. It is about a female dubber who dubs anime, voiceover in a radio and a teacher who was being pushed by her mother to get married. She met the guy she likes in a young executive. So, she researched about him and went to his apartment to get some stuff. He arrived and she hid as she took his organizer. She barely managed to get away and had witnessed the guy exercise in the nude. ^^;; Then, she began stalking the guy by being at different places where he would go, as scheduled in the organizer. She then went to a different tactic on making guy angry because of the issues she had been raising against the company, which in turn, blamed him for the mess. In the end, they fell in love. With a little problem when the guy learned about his stolen organizer, they ended up together with a brilliant plan to get them together courtesy of her family. Chang Nara is quite wacky and cute here. Her facial reactions are really something and like her role before in Bright Girl. The guy is okay and can be bsho at some parts.
Next week will be on HnG ovas. I thought it would be all throughout Jap-Kor comedy movies. I also saw an ad for Initial D starting this Tue. Mm..Asher likes this but I’m not quite sure I will since I don’t like the character designs. Hopefully, I don’t forget to watch it to check it out. Last night, I saw GB reruns in animax, it was about the end of the Mugenjou arc then, and they started at the first episode again. I have a feeling that those are all the GB episodes that animax have.
I managed to watch the last episode of Aires Grise. I can now say that the whole story is about the new girl learning about how that world works and can finally fulfill her purpose of helping the other girl to get rid of her guilt. The new girl then takes over the job of the older girl who ‘went away’. In Naruto, Kiba still had the edge over Naruto but Naruto used his brains to trick Kiba into thinking he hit his dog then used that distraction to defeat Kiba. On the way up, Hinata mustered all her courage to give Naruto a wound ointment. Neji is glaring nearby as he said something about not being too happy yet to Hinata, well, something to that effect.
In FFX, I’m nearing where I had stopped. Then, I had seen a review on a new horror rpg game called The Siren. It doesn’t look that scary though – well, at the ad but from another review online, it was quite spooky, it said. It is about a village, which was engulfed by a sea of blood then a siren could be heard. The village resurfaces only with its inhabitants zombiefied. The player can pick a range of characters to play from a blind girl to really bitchy girl. The goal of the game is to get out of the town alive. Sometimes you can shoot at the zombies to make it pause for a while as you ran for your life – they don’t stay dead – or try to run away from where they are. It is all dark, foggy and with the character’s special sight, they can more or less, figure out if there is a zombie nearby or well, the sound. It would be pretty interesting but then, I’m too chicken to play it. I played a bit of Fframe 2 and well, it is a bit scary...I think it is like those horror movies – The Ring/Grudge. ^^;;
Edit: Wolf Rain ova will be shown at the end of the month and well, it does seem that animax does have the rest of GB episodes. ^^;; hehehe
 Wednesday, April 7, 2004 @ 05:40 p.m.
I helped out this morning at the office since only one of the workers came. Well, it is a holiday – moved by the president that was supposed to coincide with Good Friday. Most stores here are already closed except for those who have nowhere else to go like us. ^^;
Sis brought a lot of groceries and mom had also bought some. Time to become Sanji-mode again. ^^;
Ginji & Ban: The better to feed us. *laughs*
Ya..I haven’t been cooking lately.
Tats: So, get on cooking already! *cracks whip*
Hai! Coming...
 Tuesday, April 6, 2004 @ 04:24 p.m.
I went with my mom to visit Nii who was in a more cheerful mood than before that he chit-chat with us a bit. Could it be the prospect of vacation for the Holy Week? Hehehe Blood work up is okay though some are at the borderline. I have been having heartburns lately. My sister’s friend went with us since she wanted to confirm if the diagnosis of another doctor is right, just to be sure.
Regarding my uncle before who had a problem with his prostrate, it turned out to be first stage of cancer. He is going to have an operation, well, supposedly on the 13th but my mom and others oppose it saying that it is a bad day. Mm..I told my mom that the 13th is only bad when it is on Friday. Anyway, they are going to ask around if it was okay..based on feng shui/Buddhist stuff/calendar. My mom said that she loosely looked on the calendar when I was operated – so that it would be okay. So far, I’m still alive.
About the supposed terrorists whom were captured the other day, the local Muslims are protesting about it, saying that they [the ones caught] were picked up and forced to confess against their will through torture. They were lead by this action star that became a Muslim when he was imprisoned for carrying non-licensed firearms. Later on, some victims of the kidnapping said that those were indeed the men who kidnapped them. So now, whom to believe? I think this kind of stuff then to die on their own until a new ‘news’ took over it.
The cover page of our newspaper was on kissing. Former enemies are ‘friends’ now because they are now allies. It was the former military president and this pretty vocal lawyer. The lawyer claimed that that she was cheated of the elections before. She used to say really ‘bad’ words against that guy and the current president but just because she wasn’t made vice-president candidate of another party, she changed her speech. I somewhat ‘admire’ her for giving up politics as the request of her deceased son who committed suicide. My mom said, well, the son is dead so she will run again. Okay...^^;; Then, there was another picture of the president’s face being squashed by her fans as they give her a kiss. She looked somewhat funny. ^^;
 Monday, April 5, 2004 @ 03:12 p.m.
I often heard about Shin Megami Tensei a lot and it turned out to be just Persona. ^^;; It seemed that they are going to make the English version of it. I searched a bit on the net about it and from the screencaps, they had a Dante-look alike character. Mm...well, Persona is quite hard to understand. I played the part 2 which started out like a ghost story, call a number on the cellphone. and say the name of the person you hate, in a week or the next day, that person is dead. I actually breezed through that game since I got a faulty game since I can used really high-leveled powers without really leveling up. ^^;;
There are also some other anime based games for PS2 though I’m not sure if it will just stay as in Jap, aside from FMA, Shaman King, Naruto, Inu Yasha and Cowboy Bebop. I know that Lupin is now out in the market. The dubbing does need getting used to and well, I didn’t bought that one. Hehehe
My sister, her hubby and his friends watched the Passion yesterday. They asked me if some stuff really did happened like wiping of the cloth on Jesus’ blood and his face was on the cloth. I think that it is a Catholic version because I have never heard of it and my mom knows about it. She said it was a bit hard to watch and there is really no story. The torture is about one hour and half. Well, from the news, the movie does seem to depend on a person’s religion and beliefs as to what to take of it.
 Sunday, April 4, 2004 @ 09:18 p.m.
While playing FFX last night, I was flipping channels when they are having long dialogues. I saw a Japanese movie, which seemed interesting. The part that I was able to watch was a new swimming coach – cute-looking woman – who was just being hired into an all boys school. I was thinking if this is some sort of GTO or Gokusen but it turned out to be some sort of manga-type movie. Of course, a lot of guys joined to club only to be shocked that she is actually a synchronized swimming instructor. So, only 5 students were left. The active member of the swimming club [the lead], a nerd, an afro hair student, a gay and a weakling looking guy. Then, again, to their shock, the instructor is 8 months pregnant so she has to be on leave.
Some cut since I was playing then watched again, their swimming pool is filled with fishes so they had to removed it. I think the school had lent it to an old guy. The lead just drained the water so that they can catch the fishes but they were caught and had to pay for the water – I think they don’t want to let their parents to know about it. So, they propose to have a synchronized swimming program for the school festival to raise the money. Unfortunately, everyone whom they asked to buy the tickets just laughed at them. [The facial reactions are really good.] The only people who bought their tickets are some gays/transvestites in a club. They pretty much freaked out when the gays are touching them. So, practice time. They practice some of the moves then went to show it to their PE instructor who would approve their program. They performed badly that the afro haired kid got his hair burned when the radio short-circuited. They started blaming each other.
The lead and his girlfriend went out to an aquarium-dolphin show. By the way, the girlfriend is pretty strong that she playfully slapped the lead’s back - it was aching all the way. I think she even karate-kicked a vending machine. He was surprised to see the old guy who put the fishes in the swimming pool was the dolphin trainer. He asked the old guy to help them with synchronized swimming. He gathered up the other four. Funny part – they saw the weakling dancing aerobics in front of the tv and he was only in red thongs. o_O; They were told to clean the aquarium glasses. A little girl asked them what a certain fish was and the lead said he didn’t know. The girl suddenly shouted ‘Baka’ at him as her parents dragged her away. ^^;; After a week, they are getting frustrated for they thought they had been had. It turned out that the arm muscles are now strong that they can do some synchronized swimming.
The old man then brought them to a video arcade to practice their legs with the use of the dance revolution game. Everyone sucks at it except for the weakling kid who had been doing a lot of those aerobics. Soon, they are following him. When they practiced at the beach, some people thought they were drowning and called for help. Because of that, they got media coverage. Later that night, they wanted to practice with some music and put the radio covered with plastic in the pool. The dolphins danced accordingly then went up dead. They freaked out because they thought they killed the dolphins since the electricity from the radio had short-circuited. The lead even tried mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. ^^; It turned out that the dolphins are just playing dead. Later that night, the used-to-be-afro now bald student was teasing the lead that the gay liked the lead much to his shock, it was him whom the gay liked. Hehehe
They got back to school and they were pretty famous. Soon, other guys wanted to join their club as the PE instructor signed his approval. The 5 boys trained the others – weakling doing the dance as the nerd calculates the time they need to make the formations. On the day before the festival, there was a fire at school caused by the bonfire. The firemen used the water in the swimming pool so they are in a predicament. The all girls’ school next door offered for them to use the pool so they went there. Well, obviously, there is a high percentage of women as their audience. The coach even went after giving birth. Even the transvestites that they asked before. With a little problem with the lead being embarrassed to do it in front of his girlfriend [she studies in that school], the program was done splendidly, combination of Western and Japanese songs. It was really a sight to see. Their on land performance are funny while the on the water is much like what you see in the Olympics. I counted them all and they are all in 23 in the pool.
I researched tonight to know the title, and it is indeed Waterboys as what they called their group. This is a pretty fun to watch film even if there are no bshos in it. Amazingly, from a review, this film was actually based on a true story. So, I’m guessing that the one’s who performed are the actual people. Oh ya, they are pretty much thin boys – not the muscled type.
There are a lot of flashbacks in Naruto while Kiba is fighting against Naruto. It is more on everyone including Kiba is picking on Naruto as being stupid, etc and Hinata thought otherwise since she had seen him practiced really hard. Kiba then used some sort of pill to make his doggie to look like him. A short glance in Gseed, Ashrum is with Orga – I think they are trapped or something. In Yugioh, good Malik managed to control Mazaki to stop bad Malik but he was too nice that bad Malik got the upper hand. Ishizu managed to distract bad Malik for Yugi to appear. Bad Malik retreated as Ishizu asked Yugi to help Malik. Meanwhile, Kaiba and Jounouchi are still ‘playing’ cards. I’m beginning to see a pattern. First, ‘Haha, I have a technique against you.’ The other then had a surprise defense and counter, ‘Haha, I got you now’. Then, replay that over and over again until in the end, we know the winner. ^-^
 Saturday, April 3, 2004 @ 05:25 p.m.
I’m really amused with HYD. Hehehe. Well, it is just when Domyouji is on the screen otherwise, it is a bit boring. I was thinking who he reminds me of...I was thinking maybe Ryota of Slam Dunk. I think the animator must have like him because the color of his clothes is really striking and bright that the viewer would easily notice that this character is different from the rest. Special attention. ^-^
I’m a bit at loss with Rei’s attitude. He is indeed acting really cold to Aya. Kazuki is avidly courting her and making her forget about Rei. In the last scene, she must have somewhat gone with Kazuki. Ran is happy for her though Miyu is about doubtful about it. Then, Ran had a tennis match in exchange for all the octopus balls she can eat. She won against a mask girl who was Maki/Magi [they are now pronouncing it as Magi ^^; Also, in the last two sum, I wrote Miyu instead of Maki. Hehehe ^^; ] She doesn’t want them to know of her lineage especially Yuya. Mm..doesn’t want them to know she is rich?
I am re-playing FFX. ^^;; I do think that it is because of the messed up leveling up that made this game hard. For now, I breezed through it with three aeons and didn’t have to buy much potions and stuff. I’m not even buying weapons just using the ones dropped by the monsters.
 Friday, April 2, 2004 @ 03:42 p.m.
I’m not quite interested in the new anime in Animax. Aside from Fancy lala and Daigunder [robots controlled by kids fight each other], there is Fam and Ihrie. I know I have seen this before in a local channel. The art is a bit like Slayers. Then, there is Magic User’s Club. They are practicing magic then some aliens tried to invade the earth so they tried to make the aliens go away with magic. Lastly, .hack/legend of the twilight. It does have Kite and the girl but the art have them somewhat in chibi form. I wonder if it was inspired by Ragnanork. It seemed a bit cheery than the game. The plot seems different, too.
Well, according to the office in charge of the elections, they have distributed about 2.5 million of 16 millions voter’s id. The rest can be only fully distributed by a year. Too bad, I’m not one of those lucky ones. They do say it is okay since well, the elections won’t be automated anyway. By 2007, we would get it but then, unless they wanted to update the voter’s id again. There is also a problem of those who didn’t register – 16 out of the 38 million expected, so can they vote or not. I would know if sis managed to vote. Hehehe
The candidates are still mudslinging each other from rape of a senator with a gay *it was really outrageous* to faking a diploma. Getting into politics can easily tarnish one’s reputation. The actor president seemed to be self-destructing with his supporters barring others. It was somewhat amusing that they call the three as the ASO [dog] gang, using the first letters of the surname. I somewhat perceived that the incumbent will win as for now with the opposition all divide.
About the terrorist bombing attempt the other day, people are saying that it was just made-up. The president didn’t have her usual photo-ops with the suspects and the bombs. I didn’t watch the news on it though just read it in the newspaper. The Muslims are quite angry about being ‘targeted’ as the suspects of any possible terrorist attacks since they are always being searched by the police.
 Thursday, April 1, 2004 @ 02:40 p.m.
It is April Fool’s day though it isn’t really celebrated here. Business is a bit good today. ^-^ My mother did a little furniture arranging again last night. I had already forgotten what was the arrangement of our house, the first time we lived here. ^^;;
I read that the latest GB chapter is about Ban and Ginji’s first mission. To make it all fun, the authors had the two dressed up in sailor uniforms. o_O;; Okay, that will be something. Fan service, maybe? It was when they are 16. I really doubt if their clients would take them seriously though. I’m thinking that Ban’s hair would be the non-spiky type. I’m still wondering how it became spiky in the present time. Much like Hisoka of HxH, it goes down when it is wet. Pomade/gel doesn’t seem to work on it since in that ‘getting the yakuza out of the apartment’ part, his hair kept on popping out to spike. Sigh, I thought it would be fun to see that animated.
Ms. Lunalesca turned out to be quite hard to defeat that I’m getting frustrated. It took a long time to defeat her then kaboom, dead. I think it could be because of wrong power-ups of some of the characters. I cheated and looked how to defeat her and holy is needed. None of the characters have it so I might have to just play this all over again. Mm..I might play KH together with this one.
 Wednesday, March 31, 2004 @ 12:51 p.m.
It has been hot and humid here lately. I don’t like it because it is quite ‘sticky’ here. Our president just moved another holiday to make it Wednesday a holiday when two holidays coincides on the same date. So, there is a long holiday by Holy week. For now, there are no plans to go anywhere because most people might be thinking of the same thing.
My thumbs had been hurting from playing PS games. Hehehe Adventure games can be murder. I had just browsed over all the games again to make sure they are in working condition since I just discovered that MGS2 I bought was defective. Good thing that store had it replaced. I finally progressed in FFX. I had skipped the side quests. So, I went back out to get some phoenix potions and only to found some stepping points that can beam out instead of hacking those monsters to get back. Oh well, at least, the characters leveled up a bit though I think it is still lacking – there are a lot of spells which I haven’t got. From that dragon-mantis monster to a woman called Yunalesca. I thought it was too good to be true to defeat her easily but it turned out she is like that woman, forgot her name in FF8. She evolved. Great, I would have to do that again today since it was already late yesterday. Anyway, I hoped the current level is enough to finish this game.
Recently, some terrorists were discovered and they were planning a bomb attack much like what happened in Spain. Hopefully, this time, they won’t escape like before. Other than that, it is still mudslinging in the politics with elections coming as usual.
 Monday, March 29, 2004 @ 02:29 p.m.
We went out yesterday with my whiner aunt. She slept at our house since my mom felt sorry for her since the other aunt had returned to Canada and her children doesn’t stay at her house. We ate at Ramen Tai in SM Megamall just because I wanted to browse over C.A. Then, I remembered that I should stop visiting the place because it would be a miracle if they had what I wanted. ^^; We walked a bit then went to church. After that, we visited sis’s new house that is still in the construction stage. Then, went to her in-laws’s house for a short while after that, we ate at Alex III and went home. Aunt still stayed with us since there is an anticipated strike today. I don’t know if it had pushed through.
I’m amused that bro-in-law found GB interesting because some time before, he was telling me that it is boring – when I was watching it. I pressed on as to why he liked it now. He said because the characters had powers and he likes the action but would rather skip the speeches. Okay..I guess it is to my advantage that he knows GB, just in case he goes to HK. They are not going to HK this Holy Week because there is some holiday in HK, which made everything from tickets to hotel to food, twice the price. Mm..and I was hoping that I would get the GB volumes that I still don’t have. About liking characters with powers, I mused that I have heard that before. I remembered it was my brother. I tried to ‘sell’ HxH to him before but he said he didn’t like it. Why? Because the characters don’t have special powers. It made me think twice on what both of them said, does HxH character’s talents comparable with GB characters’ talents? I guess not, with Ginji, GB already had an edge. As Asher said before, when I was ‘selling’ GB to her, Ginji is like an X-men. He produces electricity ala Storm and heals easily ala Wolverine. It is not always we see a split personality hero who can be cute and bsho. ^-^ hehehe
Then, I thought about their outfits.
Ban: Don’t you have anything else to talk about?
No...back to the outfits, throughout the manga, there are just two guys who don’t change their outfits much well, aside from Paul and Natsumi. It is of course, GB. The others had changed theirs even if it is just a slight difference. The two heroes just get to change theirs when they are on the cover of the manga. I guess it is to keep up with the thought that they are as poor as the rat that even Makubex could supply his group with new outfits. I guess Ban used the rest of the money to buy the endless same type of outfits [white polo shirt or white shirt for Ginji] when it was wrecked during the fight, and of course, his glasses which were sometimes destroyed during fights. In the last volume that I have, Ginji did lost that green vest which he left during a fight and his metal belt is destroyed. The art had changed a bit though...Ginji’s hair somewhat reminds me of an acorn or a pineapple.

The Taiwan election rallies are now aiming for people power. My father had been joking that the opponent had called him and asked him about the recount of the votes. My father would say, “do you know how long a recount will take? Just ask Santiago.” Santiago was a presidential candidate here before who protested the election and the term of the opponent had already finished but the counting is not yet finish. ^^; So, just as my father had been saying, who wants to wait a recount, just ask the incumbent to just resign.
.Hack sign last night went a bit crazy. The show’s dubbing isn’t the same as the subtitles. My brain kept on matching the subtitles with what is happening that I had a mild headache. @_@; Anyway, I think it was the last episode. Tsukasa and the others managed to wake up Aura and their enemy had made a player, which is against them to a large white monster like the ‘angels’ in Shaman King. The player in reality was unconscious. It had made its appearance in the game and it is chasing after Aura. It also killed a guy who could be Bear in the anime. The end was Tsukasa and Subaru met in real life, that’s it with a tv-like thing colored red.
Another new anime for April in that station is Fancy Lala which was already shown in a local channel. It is about a girl who can change into an adult with the help of magic and became an actress. GB was cut 2 episodes from the first season and was into reruns lately. I was thinking if they did that deliberately so that the tw channel can catch up hehehe Unlikely though...
In SGRan, they are having a school festival. I caught half of it only but then, from what happened, I guess that Rei did broke up with Aya which made Aya quite depressed over it that she focused on helping out in the festival and to forget. Rei didn’t like girls who are always crying and indecisive. Somehow, she met a guy named Kasuki who is pretty much concerned about her. Rei was pretty mean with Aya. I’m guessing that he wanted to make her stop liking him. Meanwhile, Yuya is still doomed to follow Miyu around while Ran is in her hyper self by joining in all of the activities.
Wow, two fights in an episode in Naruto. The first one was Tenten vs Tamaki. Shikamaru quickly determined that Tamaki would be the winner. Tenten’s many weapons technique in a scroll was no match for Tamaki’s huge fan. She looked like a peacock if the fan was behind her. Hehehe Tamaki was about to give Tenten more beating but Lee interfered to save Tenten. Tamaki was the winner. The next fight is Shikamaru vs Kin. I think Shikamaru hates fighting with girls – read from TW forum. Kin managed to trick Shikamaru with her illusions using bells and needles but it was useless against Shikamaru who easily defeated her. He just used his shadow technique..not quite sure how he did it then made her copy his moves except for avoiding the shiruken. The next fight will be Naruto vs Kiba. Kiba was relieved since he doesn’t have to fight Gaara.

I went to a gathering last night – a bon voyage party for an aunt who is going back to Canada. On the way there, I had a minor irritation, which tends to happen when another aunt wanted to ride with us without mentioning how many of them would go. Otherwise, it was okay. I just tried not to hear the whines about their lives and ego uncle’s boasting.
Local politicians can campaign the other day so it is becoming a bit noisier lately around here especially when some campaign speakers is on loud with their jingles. The popular novelty songs are quite a hit that it is a bit amusing how politicians tried to do that 8-8 dance and that Pamela thingie. They sure would do everything to get a vote. There are supposedly a lot of fake 500 and 1000 bills lately because some politicians give them to the poor in the hope that they will vote for them. The news program mentioned about it but didn’t mention how one can know if it is fake or not. They said that the 1000 bill was based on a 20 bill so I guess if you looked at the side, it should have a face of the guy in the 20 bill.
My high school yearbook might come out this year as said by the batch president. It would have been our tenth anniversary. He said he deposited the 500 pesos we paid and it is now currently, 900+. I have the urge to ask for a refund but my parents said, let them be for it would be very expensive to publish a yearbook at that rate. The president did admit that they still lack about 56t+ to do it but he will do something about it. Unfortunately, that yearbook will be made of what our school’s ‘dummy’ yearbook. I guess it is just pictures and write-ups about accomplishments and stuff. I’m not sure but I think it was the secretary [guy] of the batch who brought the write-ups in HK during his summer break before and left it there. Everyone wanted his head – stole the money, etc and none of the officers are explaining so there are basically rumors. He is currently out of the country so I guess the president finally did something.
I am getting hooked with FMA. Hehehe The author is getting good at writing cliffhangers and hopefully, he didn’t killed off that interesting guy. One of the characters, Envy, looked awfully familiar. Ah, I remember, he is somewhat like Hao. Mmm..I somewhat got it now why his power is to be a shape shifter..covet what one sees = envy. Well, something likes that. I looked for it in Chinese manga shops online but it isn’t there yet or I got the name wrong. It is just in case this is licensed, at least, I would know where to get the rest. Still, it would be better if it is not licensed, it would be hard to read alchemist stuff in Chinese..I’m having difficulty with GB already.

I watched a play last night called Menopause. The title said it all and I thought there was a plot. It is just about four women meeting at a mall and complained to each other about menopause. The fun part is how they complain. They sing popular songs and changed the lyrics – just like in Moulin Rouge. It was fun to watch and the actresses were great. The venue as mentioned in the newspaper is a fire hazard. If ever there is a fire there, there would be a lot of people trapped in there because even if there are many doors out the theater, there is only one exit – down a staircase.

I’m currently watching .hack sign. Hehehe I think it is ending so just as well and I don’t think I missed much. Balmung was there. I was actually waiting for him to show up. Let’s see. They are trying to find Tsubasa who miraculously got his/her clothes back after being stripped. The creator of the ‘World’ was trying to create a girl but another being which he also created tried to make the girl evil. Tsubasa was the key to all of it. The mysteries in there are the girl and the monsters that cannot be defeated.
Kuro-chan will be replaced by another kiddie anime about kids and robots by April. I guess there could be new anime on April. About the merchandise on the con, I think I just heard it had to be won. ^^;; It could be much like before, drawing of lots to get an autograph of Watase Yuu. Taiwanese channels are still on reruns. HnG is ending soon though.
Mom said that it is better to have limited dial-up than unlimited in order to limit my net time. I guess I’m okay with that. Mm..actually, she was the one who first suggested it because I had went out my limit the other month. The problem with unlimited dial-up, they disconnect it after 4 hours so what if I’m downloading something and they disconnected it. It will be pretty much a hassle, too.
I had missed the debate of two wannabe presidents from 5 candidates. It was a case of one didn’t want to go so the other doesn’t want to go either. I was surprised that I didn’t hear anything about it in the news only today. It turned out that it was a dud. The two participants agreed on everything and because of limited time, they didn’t expound on what they planned to do – generalizing. There is still talk about the comedian being removed from his show because of politics but both him and the station are not talking.
Aside from the election problems in Taiwan, I think some trouble is brewing out there in Israel. They had bombed a place and killed the founder of Hamas. Since I don’t know much about Hamas and stuff, I cannot really talk much about it. In gist, his group is very much angry and other Islamic groups that they vowed revenge. I think it is a never-ending cycle.
I have been hearing news about the movie, The Passion which was so gory that could make a person have a heartattack..coincidence or not. Mm..and I thought the ones shown during Holy Week is hard to watch so that movie must have been really bloody. It has also generated some controversies aside from being gory, it can make people be anti-Jews as they say. I think that is a bit like what they say on violent and sex movies. Does after watching it make one do it in real life?
I just remembered I saw a news feature in CNN about the trends lately. It is about manga into feature film and then exports it to the US. The one featured is Appleseed. I think I have heard of it. The setting is futuristic and well, more on science fiction – not really a genre that I’m fond of. The lead character looked great though..the futuristic place is unique and said to be realistic but I’m not quite convinced. I think two US music bands had contributed a song for it.

I had seen an ad of Animax about a con on April but it is on a Saturday so I doubt if I will go. Anyway, I did see the possible anime they will show. Inu Yasha was in the ad. I wondered if it will be shown after Urusei Yatsura [Lamu]. Then, there is .hack twilight. I think the creator will be coming. I wondered if that is the one based on the game because I saw Kite in there. I’m beginning to think that .hack sign is somewhat of a pre-sequel to the game. Then, it was sponsored by Gundam Seed so they might also show that. I guess I can skip watching the Taiwanese version.
The main celebration is Astroboy’s birthday. Then, cosplay and I think some merchandise and stuff. I’m thinking there might be GB but then, mmm...I don’t know. I didn’t see any thing about an entrance fee though but still it is on a Saturday. It would have been better if it was a Sunday.
I’m conserving net time since it is near over the limit. I was thinking if maybe an unlimited dial-up would be a good alternative since the price had a little difference. Let’s just see.

First of all, I stand corrected on the last entry. The Taiwanese elections lead is not huge, it was actually small. I did wonder why there is a riot if it was large. Hehehe
Ban: It is common sense, you know.
Ya..I thought they are just making an issue. Anyway, it was small and the discarded votes are pretty huge which could easily make the opponent the winner. That is why they demanded a recount.
Here, there was this comedy show by the ‘king of Philippine comedy’ which was axed all of a sudden. Some people thought that it was because he was supporting the actor president aspirant – ‘king of Philippine action movies’ since the station had supposedly made a deal with the incumbent president. So, the showbiz people supporting the actor aren’t quite happy about it. Let’s see what happens to this. It is amusing that the incumbent president said that she didn’t know that the comedian had a show. What a lame alibi. That show was in the news before for said to be promoting squatters or maybe she doesn’t read the news.

Hehehe...this blog picture is pretty much criticized by my parents. ^^;; I wanted to make a hanami [cherry blossom viewing] picture. I used OP since they are already conveniently posed already. My father hated OP art especially Luffy. ^^;; I cannot do anything about that. My mom doesn’t like the background and I have been editing it until, this is what they call, it looked better than before, it is okay now. The quote was supposed to be a haiku but then, I thought that it didn’t fit the picture. Where’s the serene mountain in this one? So, I looked for a different quote and stumbled upon this one. The background looked a bit fake though. ^^;;
As expected, Naruto was indeed pre-empted. It turned out that the result of the Taiwan elections are learned on the same day. Wow, compared to us, the country is still low-tech. Just like them, though, the incumbent president is running and well, after surviving an ambush with his vice-president, he won. The opposition isn’t happy about him winning. On the news, they are protesting it with rallies. Mm, a glimpse of what would happen here if the incumbent president won? It is nothing new here though. The losers always shouted that they are being cheated. They say that the ambush was a fake. My father told me that the lead is quite huge. The incumbent president is pro-Taiwan, anti-China. That would mean he doesn’t want Taiwan to belong to China anymore and so, China do not like him and probably wasn’t happy with him winning either.
In SGRan, Katsumi is still doing dirty tricks to make Ran give up but all her plans backfired on her until Ran caught her and punished her by hanging her on that famous dog statue. Info: The statue was made for a dog that kept on waiting near the subway for his master even if his master had died. It is usually used by people as a place to meet when they are in Shibuya. Meanwhile, Aya is having problems with Rei. Rei told her that she is too indecisive who follows around Ran or him, even if the place they are going is not of her interest. Ran wanted to give him a piece of her mind but then, I guess Rei is the only one who Ran can’t ‘push’ around. Rei can be brutally frank. In the end, Aya somewhat asked Rei to see if he likes her or not then runs away. Well, something like that. Sorry, mental block there. ^^;; I somewhat think that Rei likes Ran..that’s just me though.
Mm..Yugioh is hard to watch since I think Kaiba will really lose to everyone..ya, even Jounouchi. In today’s episode, Kaiba got defeated by Yami Yugi. Kaiba and Makuba were pretty shocked there. Somehow, Jounouchi is awake from his coma. I missed last episode. In the next one, it will be Kaiba vs Jounouchi. It is the ‘losers’ fight. Wait a minute, would that mean Yugi would fight Malik? Anyway, the opening is new. It had bit parts of the Egyptian part.
