    The jeepney and bus fare had already increased as expected. It won’t be long before the wages will follow. The actor aspirant is still saying that they were cheated and he should have won according to their quick count. Meanwhile, another new typhoon is coming.

    I had seen an ad of Totally Spies yesterday at the local channel. It was said to be coming soon. The only schedule that I could think of where they would place this one is at SGRan’s sched since it is more on ‘girl power’, too. So, that means, SGRan might be ending soon and the way things are going, it seemed like it.

    In OP, Usopp and Chopper frantically tried to thaw Robin by pouring water on her. Mm..they had a bathtub ^_^ but it is quite small. Zoro, Sanji and Nami had returned back. With Chopper’s advice, they thawed their arms in the sea. Usopp was very angry that they left Luffy alone. Sanji said that it is a one on one fight so they left. Zoro told them to quit it for they would just have to wait as to what will happen.

    Luffy fought a brave fight but he was also no match for Aokiji. Like Robin, he was frozen solid. Aokiji then realized that he was tricked for he accepted the one on one fight, he cannot go after Luffy’s crew or else, he would break his promise. He also wondered if Luffy made that pact because he thought that he would actually win. He mentioned again about misfortunes always follow wherever Robin goes. He spares Luffy since Luffy did ‘got’ Crocodile so they are now even. After he left, Zoro and Sanji got Luffy back.

    Near the shore, Aokiji checked the log and the next island is Water 7. He realized that he is already near the Marine Headquarters. He then freezes a part of the sea to make a road as he rides a bicycle. Back at the ship, Chopper announces that Luffy and Robin are okay. Everyone rejoices and they decided to stay for the day. Usopp wonders if they will meet more people like Aokiji. That night, while everyone is sleeping, Robin was wide-awake, thinking of something. I wonder if she will leave the group. Well, maybe they will be on Robin’s past in this arc.

    It has started – the increase of basic needs after elections. The other day, gas prices went up. Food prices are going up and I heard from the news that electricity and water will follow soon. Of course, the jeepney drivers are now clamoring again for their fare hike and there are also that workers who would want to increase their wages. I think that even schools might increase their tuition fee. It seems that the official counting for the presidency will start on Monday. So, two weeks after election.

    I forgot to mention that I had watched a Lupin III movie last Sunday. It is this kind of story that doesn’t need much knowledge on Japanese to know what is happening. I’m pretty much amused with their seiyuu especially with Lupin. Hehehe I don’t know if this was shown in local tv already but it is about a dragon statue found in Titanic that can create a pretty strong metal. Unfortunately, it isn’t as strong as what Goraemon’s katana.

    Naruto in local dub is already in reruns yesterday. Instead of starting at the start, it started at the second exam – the turning point of Sasuke’s life. I wonder when they will start Tokyo Underground and if they will transfer Naruto to their Saturday reruns line-up. Perhaps replacing Rave.

    FFX-2’s mini games are becoming insanely difficult. I don’t know if it was just me or is my hand-eye coordination is very bad. ^^; For example, falling buttons halfway the screen and it blinks. Quickly click it before it falls down. At first it was okay until it started falling like in a higher level of tetris. Even that cactuar mini-game – flipping different characters, make sure to shoot the cactuar and evade the needles. It was easy until it is flipping less than a second. I had to give up since I want to get on to the story and not waste time on mini-games even though I won’t be getting the other dresses or grids.

    There are lesser cg scenes here than in FFX. I’m already at the fourth chapter and I think there are more or less just 3 cg scenes – the opening, Yuna’s dream and Shuin’s meeting with Yuna. In that last one, the art seemed to be different as in the faces looked somewhat different. Anyway, maybe they saved all the cg scenes for the ending.

    We just had our first typhoon for the year passing through the country. Well, it is cooler now. ^-^

    Last night, the studio where I used to work was burning. We were waked up by a call at around 3am by an aunt. A friend had called that she had heard about it on the radio. It amazes me that some people still listen to the radio so late at night. Insomia? Anyway, my parents went to see it. It is my grandmother’s heritage. The fire started at the mezzanine where the computers are and went up. From what my mother heard, it started at around 12 midnight and it took the firemen to come at about 2am. The fire station is actually just less than 5 minutes away.

    There are a lot of bystanders there. My mother heard some of them saying that there are lots of things to ‘get’ there since it is a photo studio. I guess they are waiting for their chance. My mother could see a lot of firemen at the ground when the fire is at the upper floors. What are they doing? Well, they are actually looting what they can grab. ^^;; My mother saw one of them taking a cellphone and a camera. My father said that I guess that would be some sort of their ‘payment’. This somewhat reminded me of an aunt’s story about a son-in-law’s family who were murdered for money by the househelp. The police are asking for payment for, every evidences/proof they are collecting. I think those people, the murderers, were never caught in the end.

    Well, today, relatives who are working at the studio, are gathering up what haven’t been burned and transfer them elsewhere since at nightfall, thieves would be ripping up or taking what can be taken. So, that is why many people are hoping that the elections would create change for the better. So far, there are still no official results for they only started last Saturday and all are just unofficial counts. It may take about ah, a few weeks before we would learn who won at the national positions.

    In somewhat good news, people are again excited that the Hawaiian girl of Filipino descent is in the top three of American Idol. And, the girl who wrote a speech about being brave enough to stay in the country even if everyone else seem to be migrating, had won an international contest in London for public speaking.

    Well, I did watched the Korean movie, My Wife is a Gangster. No wonder it was taken off Makati’s [upper class mall] from its movie schedule. It is not that bad but then, it is not that good. It could have been better. A gangster had finally found her beloved sister who is dying. She wished her to marry and later on, have children. So, there are some senseless violence here and sex. The only somewhat touching was the sudden death of a gangster. There are some funny situations but then, it was disappointing to me. In the end, it just showed her not being too invincible after all. Was it because she was pregnant at that time? I suddenly remembered the possible limitation of being a woman as mentioned in OP before. Anyway, at the end, the silly twist was her pushover husband was so angry over the miscarriage that he had accidentally but then, it was the deliberate effect of burning the gangsters was were responsible with it. In the end, well, if he cannot stop her from being a gangster, he would join her as her assistant. ^^;

    This could had just been a tv made movie. ^^;; It is times like that when I should have waited if ever, for this to be shown on tv or don’t bother. Sigh.

    I managed to watch the ending of HnG ova. Ah, it is still hanging. They are still playing against different opponents. Lost to adult players then Hikaru was playing against white haired guy. The game wasn’t finished I think when nerd kid interrupted wanting to play against white hair. Later, Akira and Hikaru are practicing then asked what it is the purpose of playing, something like that then, Hikaru would play this best to be at par with Sai. That’s it. It never got to the Asian tournament.

    In Yugioh, they finally defeated evil Malik [banished] with the good Malik intact. Yugi had won the tournament. Now, Yugi had all the god cards. Within Yugi, dark Bakura was also happy about it. Malik and the others then told him that he is a pharaoh. Kaiba then told everyone to go back to the airship since he would blow up the tower. They did and realized that Bakura and Mai who were in a comatose are alive again. Kaiba and Makuba then used their card necklace to activate the destruction mode but they don’t seem to want to go back alive – suicide? So, the others hurried to find them. Wee, it is another bomb time limit search. I wonder if they would toss in some card game while they are playing hide-en-seek.

    It was another Saiyo type of filler episode in SGRan. Ran and Saiyo had exchanged bodies when Saiyo on her way to the shrine wished to become older. It is a common practice to go to the temples during New Year. And well, girls get to wear a nice kimono. I like Mami’s and she even wore my favorite outfit again. Everyone somewhat noticed that Ran and Saiyo are acting strange. They somehow kept their original voices. Later on, while doing each other’s ‘duties’, they came to know more about each other. Saiyo learned that there is so much more with being a super gal when an owner of a restaurant thanked her as Ran while Ran got to know that Saiyo isn’t just playing detective but also helps around like picking up trash with the other two boys who are helping about. Naoki managed to be in love again with Towa, the lady who tends the café where they usually hang out in.

    The two managed to go back to each other’s body when they chased after a thief. A pink volleyball hit the two and they got exchanged back. Of course, the two were happy. The volleyball then bounced off to a small alley where Yuya and Rei were. It hit the two as it bounces off and caught by a cat mascot, which disappeared, with it. As expected, Yuya and Rei also exchanged bodies. Much to Rei’s horror and dismay, Mami came by then dragged him to her limosine, thinking he was Yuya. Hehehe It ended there.

    I’m very amused after watching Naruto today. It started with a filler of playing tag for half the episode, which ended with tutoring Naruto to walk over hot water in the hot springs. While doing the illustration of how Naruto compared with Sakura and Sasuke in using charka to make doubles, like in the manga, it was all in chibi. The chibi suddenly reminded me of PoT chibis especially the way the look as in their expression. I thought I saw Ryoma in either Sasuke or Naruto. Then, they found a peeping tom but the tutor was easily knocked out by the summon frog. Jiraiya had made his appearance. There is now a new ending. It is all the cast marching from left to right in chibi form. Geez, so cute and they included Kakashi’s tracking bulldog at the end. ^_^

    News here. Well, they are now fingerpointing as to whose fault is it that the counting is way too slow. While they are still summarizing some of the ballots, local government posts are ‘killing’ each other to win and others just destroy the ballots – steal or just burn it all. Those in national positions are not conceding yet since the Congress hasn’t even started counting it yet. They say it will take about three weeks – that will be the optimistic view. The incumbent president said that the elections are flawed but it is credible. I wonder how that could be possible. ^^;; As they kept on fighting, they would later learn that the gas prices will go up again and other problems would start appearing which were not focused on because of the election.

    Things in Iraq seemed to have turned to the worse especially with those photos that showed some prisoner brutalities. I wondered what they were thinking when they did that. I somewhat observed that in ‘wars’ and conflicts like these, sex is always involved. Instead of rape, it is these photos. I think the cycle of violence had already started there with the Iraqis countering with a beheading. The Philippines is on the map again since the one who did the report was a Filipino-American. His family was proud of him and was a bit worried since the other military men might retaliate with what he had reported.

    Speaking of being proud, the boxer which was hoped to win had a draw in his match. Everyone here said that he should have won. I think a judge made a mistake in scoring and well, the judge admitted it. ^^;; Anyway, there are still talks of a re-match or if the judging will be overruled and make him the winner.

    In Naruto,Chuji was immediately beaten by sound mummy guy since he used the water in Chuji’s body to create the vibrations to knock him out. Everyone was given a month’s training before the final match and they already knew whom they would fight against. Kakashi managed to fight off Kabuto who was trying to kill Sasuke or take Sasuke away as ordered by Orochimaru since the influence of Naruto is making Sasuke forget about his revenge. Kabuto was cunning enough to escape. To train, Kakashi left Naruto with a tutor of the third Hokage’s grandson. Naruto isn’t too happy about it for he had guessed that Kakashi would be giving special lessons to Sasuke. As they say, there are reasons for such things and it would be of Naruto’s benefit, in the end. ^-^

    I would pretend that I didn’t read about Ban blushing when he was called Ban-chan for the first time by Ginji...^^;; So, the past arc about GB was how did Midou-kun changed into Ban-chan. Hehehe...the authors are sure having lots of fun fanservicing.

    Wednesday, May 12, 2004 @ 06:33 p.m.

    It had started. The losers in the political race are already said that they are cheated, except for the rare few. The government office in charge haven’t even yet started counting but based on the quick counts of different groups. On different groups, the ones leading have different results but in most, it was the incumbent. The funny development was the guy who was rejected to become a president candidate with his promise of giving everyone a million pesos and to pay off the country’s debt. He just became an actor.

    One piece had somewhat picked up. Aokiji said that it was better to finish the crew up before they get stronger especially with Robin around. He started telling the crew of Robin’s past of using people and always ending up the sole survivor. Robin tried to shut him up by attacking but instead of ‘breaking’ Aokiji, Aokiji managed to still live. Using an ice saber, he was about to attack Robin when Luffy, Zoro and Sanji attacked him. Their arms [an arm of each] got frozen. They fell down and winced in pain. Aokiji said that Robin is the same as always and Robin tried to protest when suddenly, he hugged her, turning her into ice.

    Aokiji was about to punch her so that she will shatter into pieces and die. Luffy quickly rescued her. Aokiji then was about to step on her so Usopp took Robin. Luffy ordered Usopp and Chopper to go to the ship with Robin and thaw her there. Aokiji told them that they should leave Robin for it is for their own good but they won’t. Nami went to attack as she told him that they already knew Robin – the pirate world is filled with women like Robin. Aokiji hit Nami, which made Sanji and Zoro pretty angry. Then, Luffy told them to back off for he will handle Aokiji on a one-on-one fight. Aojiji said it is find with him and it will be a death match. At first, I thought it would be the whole crew against him. I wonder if Ace would somehow come out there to help.

    Well, it does seem that FMA anime had been licensed. Only the manga left so I’m beginning to think that the manga will soon be licensed, too. The game will be out by next year. I had already found the Chinese version of FMA and they had just picked it up. For now, there is volume 2 though at another site it is at 4. TW had already scanned up to there.

    In Naruto, Lee managed to fight a bit when unleashing the ‘gates’ in his body but it was no use. He lost to Gaara. Next will be Chuji and mummy sound guy. I won’t bother looking for his name since he won’t live long in this series and I’m lazy. ^^; They will end this soon since they are about to catch up with the Japanese version. It might be replaced by Tokyo Underground.

    Tuesday, May 11, 2004 @ 04:39 p.m.

    I’m pretty sleepy today but still managed to go to the store. I managed to keep myself up for a moment when I’m testing some ballpens my mother bought at a cheap price. At first, a lot of them are not writing but with perseverance, I made all of them to write though a couple doesn’t have a smooth line – the ball must have been damaged.

    There are a lot of unofficial counts from different groups and television networks. So far, the incumbent president had a slight edge so she is all-grins. The election had some problems as usual – missing names, the ink on the finger can be erased with alcohol [gee, if I only learned earlier for I had used acetone which was not as effective.] and some other minor ones. For the vice-president, it is a bit undecided for in some the guy had an edge while the other had a woman had the edge. The senatorial slate is quite different from what the survey’s had predicted.

    The ‘funny’ thing is that the incumbent congressman of our place was not replaced by his wife. You see, the guy turned out to be an alien – not a Filipino citizen but then how was he able to run for the past 2 terms? Because of the probable disqualification, the guy dropped out of it and was replaced by his wife but then the office in charge of the elections, just yesterday, I think, say it wasn’t allowed. A lot of people still voted for the guy. I guess they didn’t know and just now, they say that they have to disqualify all the votes but then, technically, the new congressman will win hands down since there are no contenders at all. ^^;

    Politics is pretty much a family business for the incumbent government official will usually be replace by one’s wife, children and other distant relative. Much like our ‘new’ [not yet proclaimed] congressman who was the son-in-law of the mayor of our city. I don’t know if he won yet though since the mayor was running again for another term. There are some senators running are also the children of incumbent senators or other officials. There was even a grandson of a past president.

    Monday, May 10, 2004 @ 04:06 p.m.

    Early night yesterday, we went to the mall while waiting for my parents who were having a wedding party at a nearby hotel. By the time, we ate dinner, bro’s family had joined us. The two kids [niece and nephew] wanted to stay in with us and in the end, sis-in-law relents so the two are pretty happy since sis will be staying with us for the elections today.

    Since it was the first time of nephew, the kid is pretty hyper and doesn’t want to sleep at all. Good thing that sis is there. Hehehe She is a good child magnet. I think it would be easy to corrupt ‘nephew’ into anime. He likes cartoons, thinks that X is where the treasure is, likes instant noodles, and the wooden index card box or any small wooden box is a treasure box/chest. OP and Naruto, he reminds me. So, he went to sleep with a huge grin on his face. Until today, for bro picked them up since they had to go home.

    Bro had already voted ahead. He brought his voter’s affidavite and that piece of paper he had which entitles one to have a voter’s id, which was made last presidential elections. It turned out that it wasn’t needed. He gave us some tips as to where the place is so that we won’t have a hard time looking for it, even what number we are.

    Later on, we went there. There are a lot of people and as brother noticed, our precint had the most number of voters because of a longer line. Does that mean the others didn’t bother to vote? I read that many opted to go for a vacation instead of voting since nothing will happen anyway whomever one votes. Sis mentioned that this strategy was used by Marcos before. I think she meant it being on a Monday instead of a weekend that it would appear to be an extended holiday for some.

    I made some stupid mistakes like using my left thumb in the first thumbprint. The people in charge didn’t say anything and then at the end, I realized that I should use my right thumb for the last thumbprint. I ended up with two printed thumbs. ^^;; I also sat with sis and help each other in voting but was told by the officer that there is no cheating...for the secrecy. ^^;; Mm, before it was allowed I think..it was the three of us. So, I moved at the back.

    Then, we ate at a restaurant while sis had been checked up by Chinese doc. We dropped by at a small mall near our place, which had just opened. The aircon is still cold since it is still new. We shopped a bit. They managed to buy a bit of things. Sis bought some massage wooden equipment and a Pucca hubby? bag. I don’t know if it is her hubby, boyfriend or something. The one with Lee’s eyes as Asher noticed.

    All the channels are focusing on this so I doubt if there is anything to watch at local channels. They are already counting it manually. A teacher shouts the names of the person one voted as one writes I, II, III on a huge paper for the tabulation. I guess it would take about a month to finish or earlier if anyone concedes – the lead is huge so the teachers don’t have to count anymore. Oh ya, we vote at public schools. That is what we get since the people in charge goofed at buying computer automated machines and wasted a lot of tax money.

    Sunday, May 9, 2004 @ 02:54 p.m.

    Today is mother’s day and is also the day where most Filipino men are glued on television as they waited to see if the Filipino contender for a boxing title will win. I just came home from Chinese doctor. I could hear people guessing who will win – elections and the boxing game.

    It finally rained last night heavily that there was a short brownout. My father today told me maybe it was a test run for something. You see, before they used it in order to make ‘problems’ during martial law. I was still a kid then so I didn’t quite notice the maltreatement and all the stuff. My only complaint was mecha anime had stopped showing. ^^; Today, after the really hot morning, it seemed quite cloudy again. Nice, it is cooler.

    I was thinking that it would rain really hard tomorrow so that there would be no elections..unlikely. Just read that the guy in charge of the election had collapse. I guess the guy is all stressed out with the problems kept on coming out.

    In Naruto, Gaara managed to get some hits in with his sand and there are lots of Lee flashbacks. It is more on a lesson for non-genius people. Hardwork can make up what you lack in the mental department. The author does love the underdog since he uses Naruto to ‘shame’ the so-called geniuses. Well, One Piece is the same, unlike PoT.

    Saturday, May 8, 2004 @ 01:25 p.m.

    Visiting uncle had already left. He said that he would return on September – mom said, with his wife. I guess he really like the easy life here and well, he is already retired. The only places he went are at Ongpin and Tagaytay. I was hoping that he would go to Taiwan so I can ask him to buy me GB manga. Hehehe On his last day here, we discovered that he has high blood pressure. ^^; We were thinking if it was just because of the weather or he really had it but never noticed.

    Today is the last brouhaha of the candidates to advertise. There was no HYD today with a whole hour of advertisement of the ex-education secretary. The cartoon was kind of cute though. Then, there are lots of song numbers by showbiz people who believed in him. I think showbiz people are the ‘winners’ in this election aside from the probable winning of positions, maybe from the payment for the work they did to promote the candidates.

    So, without that, I drag myself to the store. Just thinking that I would have to be on duty for the next two weeks seemed to make me lazy. ^^; The secretary will be off starting on Monday so I would have to help around a bit. Oh well, that’s the least I can do from my ‘hosts’/parents hehehe I am a parasite. A former classmate called to say hi. She mentioned that she would not vote. I wonder if there are many people are not going to vote. According to the surveys, the undecided had increased and well, it wasn’t still sure it those included the people who wouldn’t vote.

    Golden Week is at its end and maybe next week, I could have some manga updates. ^-^ Naruto local dub had caught up with the Taiwan channel. They are in Lee vs Gaara fight. Gaara shields with his sand and Lee removes his weights and had actually beaten Gaara by using his first Lotus technique. I’m still thinking that they might pre-empt local dub on Monday since it will be all out coverage for the elections.

    SGRan is celebrating its Christmas day. I think this show will end when they are going to college already. Miyu already got her scholarship so it will be soon. The episode started with Ran meeting with Rei and forcing him to taste a cookie she baked. Then, some people took a picture of them – Ran making hyper pose while Rei was groaning at the background. Tatsukichi is in an all time low thinking that he had no chance against Rei. Then, he met up with Yuya and Mami [It turned out her name is indeed Mami not Maki. ^^; ] with her nice outfit – colored black with red trimmings [I like]. Mami tried to cheer Tatsukichi and fight for his love, even if he had no chance. ^^;;

    On Christmas day, they had a party at the little café. Naoki was shocked to learn that Saiyo and Misato are already lovers. He had a gift for Saiyo. Ran met up with Tatsukichi and told him that she does like him so he doesn’t have to sulk. Then, they chased a lost monkey – for reward money. There was even a short Miyu and Yamato love scene of exchanging gifts. There was the work ‘END’ and I thought is this the last episode. It turned out to be for the little drama of the two. ^^; In the end, they caught it by Tatuskichi calming it down with monkey talk. Back at the café, Tatsukichi and Ran are celebrating. Yuya asked Rei who was the one he really liked. Rei didn’t answer though he doesn’t look that happy while watching the two dancing around. Rei is indeed hard to figure out.

    Friday, May 7, 2004 @ 02:23 p.m.

    We got our sample ballots from the government office that is in charge over the elections. Yup, it is confirmed, sis and bro can still vote since they also sent theirs. I guess everything is rushed that they didn’t even bother to type up the names. It is all handwritten.

    It is the youth section today in our newspaper. They write about being optimistic at first over the elections, when they are younger until after a few years, nothing seemed to have changed and had gotten worse. They somewhat not want to vote since nothing will come out of it anyway then ends the article to still vote since it is one’s responsibility. I guess it is like about doing something even though it does seem to be useless, you’ll never know. Oh, something like a favorite manga/anime topic, can one not defy destiny or does one have free will? And maybe change one’s self. From the different titles, I can know what the author believes.

    Yesterday, the religious leader had another rally to fill up the nearest park to us. Of course, they had caused lots of traffic again. I watched a bit of the rally – to know what’s going on there – on the tv. I got bored. ^^; He was talking about domestic helpers/maids that are sent abroad so that they can feed their families here. Most of the time, they are not treated well and come home in a casket. But then, the need of money in order for their family to survive is more important that some even went to Iraq and doesn’t want to go home even if it is a bit chaotic out there. I guess his point was to make the country sufficient enough so that people won’t work abroad.

    I think those who were able to get a good job abroad would have a tendency to bring their whole family to the other country. I saw in a late night show wherein the maid was much treasured by the family there that she managed to bring her whole family to New Zealand and the family she works for gave them a huge room where they could stay. Anyway, if the surveys are correct and the incumbent president is still doing what she did before, the next six years would be probably the same. I read an interesting thing today that the loans that are being made in her term was to pay for payroll of the government agencies and not what should be prioritize. ^^;;

    I’m musing about watching, My wife’s a Gangster [Korean film]. I’m guessing it is a comedy. A woman was into some sort of Korean yakuza and if I remember correctly, she is the head. Her sister dies with one last wish that she get married. Now, she did as her sister wished so now, she is juggling with a double life. Wonder what her husband’s reaction would be. Hehehe I read that the US is planning to make a re-make of this. I have been hearing a lot of Asian movies being made into US versions lately. I’m sure this was the one, which had a part two since it was a hit.

    I read that FMA PS2 game has been licensed. Hopefully, the dubbing is good and they made it better since from the reviews of the Jap version, there are some minor glitches. As I wrote before, there are lots of anime-based games coming out soon. The question is if they will be good. Mm..with FMA game being licensed, would the anime and the manga be coming soon? I hope not. Hehehe

    I guess Viewtiful Joe was such a hit that it will be re-released on PS2. The original was on Gamecube. There would be a sequel and it features chibi Dante. Amusing. I also wonder about FF11. I know it is a PC release but I read there is a PS2 station. Wasn’t it supposed to be an online game? Well, maybe attaching the cable to the PS2. There will be lots of online games for PS2, which includes Gran Turismo and MGS3.

    I’m still at FFX-2. The last side quest I did was mating monkeys. ^^;; Ain’t that fun? They really put in here all the fun side games from the other FF games. The games that I tend to skip at the other FF games like chocobo raising and digging. I would end up re-doing this since at one part, the story does split as to where to whom would I give the sphere that the Gullwings stole.

    I am still on a blog pic making streak. I actually would like to color some Naruto cover scans. Probably go with the past issues since the recent ones are already being colored by some people already. Who knows? Their work is really nice and I wanted to learn how to use Corel Painter, too.

    Wednesday, May 5, 2004 @ 03:09 p.m.

    Yesterday, I finished up the two prospective blog pics. Next month will be blue themed again. I also did some California temaki. Visiting uncle was made to eat one. Hehehe He says that he doesn’t like eating Japanese food. I was thinking of making him back me up on wanting a cat or dog – caused by bro, unfortunately, he also doesn’t like them. He used to have some goldfishes.

    Like my brother, I want to have a furry animal. He wants a dog while I, a cat but then a dog will do. While looking at some dog pictures, he said that he wanted a Siberian Husky because it looked like a wolf and doesn’t bark or a bulldog. Just yesterday, I saw on tv a husky who can somewhat say human words. So, we ended up with fishes. The flowerhorns are big and fat that my visiting uncle is asking if they can be eaten. ^^;;

    Elections is near. The registration is filled with errors – missing and double entries so they decided to use the old registry as back up. That means, sis and bro can vote. Bro isn’t too happy about that since he used to use an alibi that he didn’t register so he won’t vote when asked whom will he vote. If I recall correctly, there are now more undecided voters than before. I guess that is because of all the mudslinging happening.

    My mother said that there would be those election forms of the list of candidates for us since the others already have them. I was thinking maybe those got lost, too. Just yesterday, there was news of missing ballots from different places and the thing to calm the people down is, hey, with those ballots, it couldn’t overturn the result of the elections. ^^;

    I’m getting nowhere so I’ll end this entry.

    Monday, May 3, 2004 @ 05:00 p.m.

    We took time off at a hotel last Saturday. The others swam at the pool and I can only make myself content over the bathtub. It was decided that I do not stay overnight since I might end up not getting a good night’s sleep again. Visiting uncle went to Tagaytay, suppose to be Baguio, with his friends. Later on, whiner aunt and cousin joined us. Cousin irritated me a bit especially when niece said that she doesn’t drink tea and she kept on insisting. I was thinking if they were thinking of paying again. Like my aunt, she could have been saying not to get this and that since they are going to pay like saying that Don Henrico isn’t good but then, we ate there before, with her.

    Niece managed to get permission to stay overnight with us. Then, later in the morning, sis and her hubby went to the house and played with the kids, nephew also joined later on. Bro is trying to re-arrange the aquariums again and we made a short trip to some fish shops nearby. At night, I just flip channels because there is nothing much to watch and in the end, make do with Lupin III movie which have something to do with cults and the statue of Liberty.

    Just this morning, I watched a bit of Crayon Shin-chan – before I got a headache. The scene was Shin was with a lady ninja. She was fighting a villaness, like in old Heian times type of lady. The lady ninja was caught by the hair. While watching this, I have this thought that it really looked like Sakura’s predicament in Naruto. And just as I somewhat knew, the lady ninja did the haircut maneuver which is almost the same as Sakura did except that while caught off guard, the ninja quickly used the knife to stab the villaness to the heart. Nice. I was justifying that Sakura maybe didn’t did it because she still doesn’t have it in her to kill but then, she would just prefer biting. ^^;

    I haven’t watch Naruto [recorded] yet but then since I read the manga, I already knew what’s next. Gaara vs Lee fight. If the local channel doesn’t do a rerun, they would have this episode by Friday. In Yugioh, it is still Yugi vs Malik.

    In OP manga, the tall man was an admiral named Aokiji who knew Robin and knew Luffy’s grandfather whom Luffy seemed to be afraid of. His power is Ice. Mm..he must be strong to have elemental powers. I doubt he would be of challenge to Ace. He had a similarity to Shikamaru of Naruto. That is laziness that when talking, he got lazy to even finish what he was saying. ^^;

    Saturday, May 1, 2004 @ 11:32 a.m.

    I was a bit engross at using up the rest of my net time that I forgot to watch GB ^^; of what seemed to be a filler. I downloaded Air Gear just for the heck of it. The art is nice since it is the same author as Tenjo Tenge[?] but it doesn’t appeal much – pervert, big chested women sometimes nude and a tad violent. TT is a bit more though that after one chapter, I don’t think I can read through it. Air Gear is about rollerblades. I have no idea why the lead had a crow living in his head. It was never explained and he lived with 4 women who are in a group of rollerblades. The lead is now getting ‘in’ the world of rollerblade gangs. I felt as if this is like West Side Story with gangs from the West and East gangs fighting over territory. I am in between what to know what will happen next and is there more something to this plot. ^^;

    I woke up at 630am maybe to watch a rerun of GB but then, today is Saturday so the rerun might be on Monday. I slept again and it is about 810am already. Great, I just missed some of SGRan. Aya is having a date with Kasuki then they had an argument when Kasuki is trying to dictate to Aya about her clothes and she should leave her friends. Aya left and called Ran who was trying to sell ah, contact lens in order to buy a certain boots she like. Everyone left to find Aya and left Maki to sell the stuff. I somewhat like Maki’s outfit. ^_^ Then, they comforted Aya as Aya realized what Rei was telling about her being indecisive. Then, Ran remembered that she promised the teacher to stake out to find a certain ghost at school.

    At school, the girls went with Ran. It turned out to be just a thief. Ran went after him only after the teacher promised to treat Ran. Ran instead of the usual boomerang boots, just flying kicked the thief who turned out to be Kasuki. He confessed that he tried to get very high grades, even though he already had good grades, in order to please his parents. He thought that he and Aya are alike but they are not for she had decisions on her own. At the rooftop, Aya reflected that if she didn’t have friends like Ran, she would be like Kasuki. Then, Rei called. Aya was all blushing that he cared that she was crying so she passed the phone to Ran. Ran told him everything is okay and asked him why he is still up late at night. Rei, who was with Yuya and Tatsukichi, said that she is also still up late and quite hyper for she is quite still chatty.

    While saying that, Tatsukichi noticed that Rei smiled when he said that. Tatsukichi is freaking out as to why Rei smiled and asked Yuya what it meant. Yuya didn’t understand as Tatsukichi accuse Rei of having a crush on Ran. Rei just left them. Later on, Kasuki studied abroad and wrote to Aya that he envies her for having such good friends. Aya could only wish that he would also find good friend abroad. Then, she met up with Ran and the others. Ran was happy that she bought new boots but Maki managed to have a new ‘in’ bag that she bought after working, I think with Yuya. Tatsukichi is sulking over the tree, probably over what happened last night regarding Rei’s smile. I wonder what will happen next.

    Wowow is showing anime in the morning which turned out to be just DBZ. I thought it was on the Taiwanese channel and was wondering why there are no subtitles. ^^; Anyway, I realized that the anime that I watched way, way before on NHK BS-2, which I don’t have now, is on Golden Week. The only special that Wowow [anime] has are Crayon Shin-chan and Lupin III movies. It isn’t like I would get to understand them anyway.

    Friday, April 30, 2004 @ 06:39 p.m.

    Animax will have two new anime. One is an adaptation of the novel, Little Women and the other is on a high school ghost club. They are stalking haunted houses and hides from ghosts based on the advertisement.

    Tomorrow is a holiday and also a day of rally for labor groups who wanted an increase of their wage. I began to notice that the advice going around that if elections is coming, people should close their savings and convert it to dollars. ^^; I guess it is the prospect of the peso depreciating more. There are talks that the incumbent president is suppressing stuff to make people not be ‘angry’ over more bad news. One week can still be long for many things could happen all of a sudden. The one who was sick turned out to have bone cancer instead of prostate, which he used to have. That doesn’t sound so good since he looked quite thin now than before. Is being president so important to jeopardize one’s health? Maybe..if one would say he is really patriotic but then, it could be like being crazy.

    It amuses me that in the incumbent president’s campaign, they are doing look-alike contests to keep the people entertained. Not that I’m happy that there are many look-alikes of her. ^^; I found it silly when the advice of a tv station was to go to the rallies to know what the candidates are saying. It is mostly over-the-top promises, throwing dirt against the opponent or showbiz people entertaining the people of variety show type acts. There is lately some news on endorsing a president aspirant by certain religious groups. For example, INC [Iglesia ni Cristo] wherein if the head said they should vote for a certain president, the members would vote for that person. I had a high school classmate who belonged to that group and she did say that it is so. So, some president aspirants are trying to woo those groups.

    At least, only one more week of those political tv ads. Yay! Obviously, I’m running out of things to write about so...

    Thursday, April 29, 2004 @ 04:42 p.m.

    I watched WR’s last four episodes. My impression was well, ah, it was more or less a massacre of the cast. It is like some of those anime about this ‘world’ is bad so let’s start a new one and reincarnate the lead characters. Anyway, the art is really pretty. While watching, I was touching up Jourougumo, which I did last Sunday. Then, I realized that I drew it upside down and the upper arm is longer than it should be. Sigh, I’m a bit lazy to re-do that. ^^; I think I would color lightly.

    There is a rally now of a president aspirant [religious leader] in a business district of the city. I sometimes wonder the idea about it. Just to show that the surveys are wrong that he is dead last? I doubt that people who are stranded in traffic in that area would vote for him. The ex-education secretary president aspirant had returned but his health concerns are still not verified so I doubt if he could bounce back. The two opposition contenders had decided not to merge since it is already late and nobody wants to become vice-president. Of course, the incumbent president is very happy over what is happening.

    Next week is Golden Week in Japan so no manga updates. I was wondering if it is a Buddhist series of holidays because China also has a Golden week. The blog that I stalk for GB updates had a month leave since her arm had an infection so she couldn’t use it and tons of schoolwork. FMA haven’t been continued in TW lately. The web site where I get my OP scans are having server problems, I think. Naruto will be on a break so, basically nothing much to surf on.

    While they are having a holiday, next week will be the last week of the politicians to woo voters to vote for them. It would be also the last week of visiting uncle before he returns home.

    Tuesday, April 27, 2004 @ 10:39 a.m.

    I had been feeling sleepy and tired again. I think my blood level is going down again so I would have to visit Chi doc later on. Because of this, I haven’t been doing anything productive since brain is not working. ^^; I had been reading Naruto scans from Asher. It just gave me an excuse to skip any Naruto anime because I now know what happened. Hehehe I’m not finished yet though but halfway through.

    I begin to think that Magic User’s Club is just a short special for last night, it seemed to have ended. Moving anime at the credits usually mean it had ended and the aliens had left. The lead finally had confidence at herself and saved her friends who were captured by the aliens. She even changed the aliens into sakura petals. It made the aliens left the Earth with the claim that it is ‘un-invadeable’. In the end, nothing has been resolved regarding the love polygons of the characters.

    In the news yesterday, there was this girl who was on her first day on the job and she got hold-up. In her anger and frustration, she grabbed the gun of the thief and managed to get it. The thief then bit her. She then tried to shoot him with his gun but twice, it didn’t fire so she just hit him with it. So, the thief was caught. She never got to her job so she really think that she would blew it for not coming that she kept on hitting the thief on national tv. The thief’s lame excuse was he needed the money to pay for the trip to visit his girlfriend.

    I wondered if the girl knew some martial arts skills. During this summer, I noticed that there are more summer schools offering martial arts as something for youngsters to do. I guess with the current situation, learning some self-defense skills would help, more or less.

    Sunday, April 25, 2004 @ 07:44 p.m.

    I stayed at sis’ house last night so that I don’t have to wake up early for her to fetch me. The purpose is somewhat defeated since I have a tendency of not being able to sleep at a different house easily. My sleep has been on and off. On the way there, we have to fetch sis’ hubby’s cousins from the airport. Because of some miscommunication, they ended up having no one to fetch them. So, it was a bit late when we arrived at sis’ house.

    I watched the end of Double Vision. Doesn’t seem that scary though but I like the water special effects. The ending is a bit corny. Then, a few mtv clips from Animax, which aren’t that interesting.

    Today, I went out with Asher. She treated me for passing her compre exam. Thanks. And, I gave her a tape of some PS2 game scenes as a gift. We exchanged some manga scans, browsed over a few GB manga I brought and drew a bit. I only drew one while she drew two. I guess I’m a slow drawer. ^^; Later on, I went home to find that I’m home alone. Mom and some relatives managed to get visiting uncle to go to malls even though he isn’t into that. As if for punishment, at least 2 malls. Hehehe

    In Naruto, it is just Neji practically defeating Hinata even though she is almost sure as the loser. I don’t know what she said but Neji almost tried to attack her even if he had won. Naruto, of course, began to notice Hinata and somewhat vowed that he would avenge Hinata for what Neji did.

    It is a Malik vs Yugi game in Yugioh. They are ‘betting’ on their alter egos that would disappear. As usual, Malik had the edge then Yugi does but in the next episode, it might be Malik again. Kaiba had already given his god card to Yugi.

    Saturday, April 24, 2004 @ 05:01 p.m.

    There might be a mass rally on May 1. It is suppose to be labor day and there are people who used it to rally over the government’s way of handling things. There are talks about making it possible to extend till the elections day but then, if things get announced, it would be unlikely that it will push through.

    In SGRan, Maki is giving Ran, Miyu and her beloved Yuya a tour of her mansion with the fear that Yuya might reject her for she is rich. She was traumatized by her past boyfriends who left her because they belong to ‘different’ worlds. Ran unintentionally set on the burglar alarm when she was testing on a necklace. Throughout the episode, they are being chased by a huge robot pink dog named Yuya. ^^;; In the end, Miyu and Ran flying kick the dog and out came the huge batteries. Yuya told Maki that he isn’t like other guys who think of her status but rather of what she is. He stupidly just made Maki fall for him even more much to his dismay as Ran teased that he would make a perfect boyfriend for Maki. I somewhat begin to think that the writers are running out of ideas. Wacky chases just to extend the time.

    Friday, April 23, 2004 @ 06:06 p.m.

    Well, the pics server is down lately so I would temporarily place them at a different site. I would also do Kai’s site before he complains. I had just finished cleaning the aquariums and moved a bit the fishes so that they would not be too over crowded.

    Magic User’s Club is pretty wacky. I managed to catch an episode yesterday. The nerd lead was the apple of everybody’s eyes. ^^;; There was the bully and yet sexy woman who turned out to have like him. There was his student, the lead who is also fond of him. Of course, there is this bsho guy who also likes him. I think the lead’s friend like the bsho gay.

    My uncle’s operation seemed to be okay even though it took longer. The prostrate gland is really inflamed and larger than it should be. The doctor even showed it to my mom. ^^; After the operation, my mom already went home as the other relatives went to visit him. By the way, this uncle is single so that is why his siblings are the one ‘taking care’ of him.

    I suddenly remembered one of my surgeon’s assistant, the bsho doc who proudly told me that he was the one who stitched me up. See, it is quite neat. ^^; Nice souvenir, huh? Hehehe.

    Thursday, April 22, 2004 @ 03:35 p.m.

    Mm..a bit drowsy today and yet I couldn’t sleep. I hope I’m not coming down with anything. My heartburn is bothering me lately. I hope that it is just a temporary thing.

    I noticed that FFX-2 seemed to be much fun to play than FFX. I don’t know if it is just me but the dubbers seemed to be really ‘in’ the role. Anyway, I’m really amused of Yuna’s jealousy. Hehehe I would have to ‘cheat’ throughout the game since I wanted to get the nice ending and well, I’m not sure if I would want to repeat all of it again if ever I got the not so good ending. It is quite rare that I would repeat a game. So far, only MGS1 is the only game I had ever breezed through all over again with the help of that stealth outfit. ^-^

    It is still elections fever here and well, no debates with the complete cast so far. There was supposedly one but then, all of the aspirants just send their representatives. ^^; The opposition is still split and so, the incumbent president is pretty happy about that. From the agency handling the elections, it was learned that the inedible ink has not yet been delivered and there is a chance that there might be no ink at all. The ink is used to put on one’s finger to discourage others from voting again but then, the ink is not fool proof for at times, it can be removed with soap. ^^;

    My uncle is having his operation today and from the supposed schedule, it was way past it. It was supposed to be at 10am in just three hours. It is already 330pm now and mom said that he isn’t out of the operating room yet. I’m wondering if they weren’t on time – the operation. Anyway, ego uncle called the other day, ‘ordering’ my mom to be with my uncle and that she has to assist him early on. My mom then asked if he had visited him and he confessed that he didn’t and he will go abroad. ^^; So, of all my uncle’s siblings, only my mom is assisting him today even if she had a slight upset stomach. My whiner aunt didn’t even know that today is the day of the operation. ^^; The rich aunt was the one who provided the financial assistance though and well, they still all depend on my mom. She got one of my cousins to help. He is studying nursing and unfortunately for me, when my mom called up, he answered so he was asked to help. Hehehe

    Speaking of nursing, it is the current fad now for doctors here to go abroad to become nurses. There was one well-known graduate for he had aced the exams here and to people’s dismay, he would become a nurse abroad. He said that he wanted to help his parents so he would earn dollars and that after that, he would return here and become a doctor again. The salary of a government doctor is quite low that compared to a nurse abroad, it is almost 2x.

    There is a little buzz on a speech a UP student wrote at a contest that she won. The topic is about wanting to stay here instead of going abroad to stay there and earn money. She said that she doesn’t want to take the easy way out and that hopefully, later on, she can look at the mirror and said that she braved the hardships in the country. Well, that is if the country turned for the better. Her prize is a trip to London.

    In OP, Luffy finally defeat Foxy. I didn’t quite get what was Luffy’s prize for winning but I think it is Foxy’s flag and he just drew a pretty ugly flag for them. ^^;; Then, they gave the flag to the old man whose horse was injured by Foxy. Then, they met a pretty tall man. Robin was quite shocked to see him and the man knew her. I think the guy is a Marine captain.

    Wednesday, April 21, 2004 @ 02:10 p.m.

    I had finally finished FFX and the last bosses were amazingly easy. The ending was what I had seen partly in that tv chat. I was a bit disappointed that there are no animations or anything at the credits which they did before in FF8 and 9. I’m now playing FFX-2, which turned out to be quite interactive than FFX. The monsters will not wait for your turn and would keep on attacking and the status ailments/ko will not go away even after the fight that does in FFX. The battle system is a bit like in FF5 and well, I think earning points for an ability is in FF8, I think but for the ‘huge monsters’, forgot what they are called there. ^^;; I guess they manage to come up with this one quick since they practically used the same places and characters with some modification on the main female characters and some places. I am already guessing what the story is about.

    I think Squaresoft has somehow perfected cg the sea. It looked nice in FFX and especially KH. ^-^ So, that is why I wanted to use the beach/sea as a blog pic. I couldn’t find a better girl pose so I guess ‘she’ is okay though I think the body pose seemed quite unnatural. ^^;; I got the song lyrics while looking for the lyrics of Gravity.
