If you were a room in a house, what room would you be?

Progress Quest
Tuesday, April 15, 2003
Ok, theres a New RPG in town, well, a NIRPG (non-interacting Role-Playing Game). Its called Progress Quest and basically plays for you when your computer would otherwise be idle. IM me with questions, else you should download it and run on the oobag server. Once you have a character, press ctrl-g and join the 'winterers' guild.

Guys and Dolls
Thursday, April 10, 2003
Just got back from a great performance of 'Guys and Dolls'. I've youve never seen it onstage then you should at least watch a copy of the movie version with Frank Sinatra and Marlin Brando. This has appeal for people that dont even like musicals, i mean it has gamblin, music, um.. dancin, music, and a good morale, oh yeah, and some music. (But hey its a classic). The chorale concerts are sunday and monday (in tallapoosa and atlanta, respectively). School is beginning to wind down for the semester and boy am I glad. After submitting the final report on the machine, ME 2110 is over, so that frees up time for.... um, whatever, maybe ill consider studying for the other stuff in which i am not doing so well. I'll let ya know how it turns out.

and ...wheeeEEEEEEeeeee
Thursday, April 3, 2003
Well the silly design competition is finally over, and we didnt come close to winning, nor did we to losing.... sometimes its ok to hang in the middle, specially when its such a small percentage of the final grade... but on a good note, a group from our section won because they happened to be in the right place at the right time :-) I am just ready for this week to be over, they try and cram too much stuff into too little time.

Blah, Blah, Blah, Class, Blah
Wednesday, April 2, 2003
Well, the day of the competition has arrived. I guess we'll have to be happy with the design and construction of the machine. Have a science fair thing presentation at 5 and the competion is at 6ish. (*Fingers Crossed*). After spending 80+ hours on this, im just ready for it to be over. They dont seem to realize that this is just a 3 hour class, and that we have another 9-15 hours worth of class to do stuff for...

What Video Game Character Are You? I am a Pacman Ghost.I am a Pacman Ghost.

I like to hang around with friends, chatting, dancing, all that sort of thing. I enjoy occasionally wandering around randomly, and often find that when I do so, I get to where I wanted to be. What Video Game Character Are You?

A Spring Break in School
Tuesday, March 25, 2003
Well, while everybody else was goofing off or frollicking around the state/wherever, i was in the classroom at Tech being bored out of my mind doing something constructive... I did take a trip up to Fort Oglethorpe, saw Crystal and Matt and rented One Hour Photo, which is nothing like the trailers depict, but still good. Our group project went to the qualifying round today and failed miserable, but we still ended up as the 3rd seed for the final, because, at least we didnt get disqualified like some teams. To fix the problems, we need to make some kind of metal coupler, cause the plastic and wood ones keep getting stripped... Also need to improvise a bag system to catch the balls as they come out. Then, just apply a coat of paint for aesthetics and we'll be on our way.

So, i got a little bored and started making a list of the top must-be-seen movies of all time that im going to try and get my hands on (mmmm glorious kazaa). Look through it and let me know about any ommissions and ill put em up there (if i agree). I will be updating the list regularly when spare time permits. School sucks, mostly cause everybody else is out and i have 3 tests and stuff to do, but im not gonna complain about that again.

Test Results
You think of yourself as being deep, rich, laid-back, and calming.
Others think of you as being energetic, simple, colorful, and monkey-like.
Your relationships can be described as warm, nearby, friendly, and large enough.
When stressed, you feel solitary.

School again....
Tuesday, March 11, 2003
Well, spring break is over and school has recommenced and is demanding as ever. Apart from 2 homeworks and a quiz, the first stage of our ME 2110 project is due tuesday in lab, and neither my group nor many of the others are ready. Along with the working machine, they also want a 5 page report and presentation about what we thought would be work (little did we know....) I had a talk with somebody who needed somebody to just listen, everybody needs an outlet, im glad they feel confident enough to invest it in me. The next good while is gonna be hectic with all this stuff to do, school work, checking on Co-op stuff for the fall (and housing depending on the answer i get), income tax needs to be done so i can pay off this new computer (http://www.geocities.com/stephenrowan/mynewdell.html). I just need to stop procrastinating and priortize my stuff. In fact, im procrastinating right now, so im gonna cut this short and go get to it. Wish me luck.

"Vacation"
Friday, March 7, 2003
Ah, another great day of "vacation" with the rents. Its been pouring since we got here, and ive stepped in a few poodles...(sorry, had to throw that in.) Theres not much to see in this weather, so we've just been driving around and such. Went to see the 3hr 45min "Gods and Generals" and it rocx, even if its a Ted Turner film (he even has a small cameo, but then a lot of people do, like Larry from Larry, Daryl, and Daryl). I never pictured Jeff Daniels as a leader/soldier, but he pulls it off pretty well, and Stephen Lang portrays Stonewall Jackson as a steadfast, yet human leader that knows how horrible war really is. That and his beard could take out an entire French contingient. The movie is very anti-northern, just displaying the battles of First Bull Run, Fredericksburg, and Chancellorsville, where the hero is accidentally shot by his own men, leading to his untimely death. It seeks to portray the truth and grisly horror of the civil war, from brother fighting brother, Irish fighting Irish, and friend fighting friend. It calls a signifigant amount of history from the Romans to Shakespeare and many biblical references in a religious fervency, not unlike a Jonathan Edwards "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" (http://www.ccel.org/e/edwards/sermons/sinners.html). While making a signifigant display of confederate and battle flags, it shows the shouthern leadership and their realization of the slavery issue and the futility as its progression in the economy and future of the south (and the country after the war). But i'll get off my soapbox now and just give the movie a hearty 4 out of 5 for its realistic depiction/reinactments and display of true emotion.

My New Dell :-)
Tuesday, March 4, 2003
It finally got here, the object of my desires for the last few months (I mean, not to be greedy and materialistic, but that old HP was getting on my nerves.) I have put the stats in the link above if anybody cares. I finally will have something that can run the stuff i need at school as well as any games (WC3, D2, UT, Q3) that i wish (plus some new ones about to come out). Ill be spending the next few days fixing it to my specs, (i.e. gettin rid of some of the stupid stuff in Windows XP, installing all my software, and transferring music to it). If i'm online between restarts, gimme an IM, id love to hear how much your computer sucks as compared to mine (just kidding).

mmmm spring break
Tuesday, March 4, 2003
Well, its been an eventful beginning to my spring break. For starters, it began in february (friday afternoon); I mean, come on, i remember when spring break was in April, like after Easter. But anyway, heres the rundown. We left Carrollton at 8ish and headed for Valdosta to cheer on the Braves in the last game of the season. It took a good 4+ hours to get there. (sidenote: Only I would get 18 miles from the Florida line on my spring break and not go to Florida; partly because i am poor and partly because i dont have anybody to go with, stupid non-coinciding spring breaks...) So we got there, and got into the game and ended up sitting right behind the Braves bench almost on the floor. The Braves took an early lead and kept it through most of the game. We cheered and screamed and told the VSU players to SIT DOWN!! (and they did) so loud, we were heard on the radio. (:-D) The game got pretty close in the second half, so we made an effort to outcheer their student cheering section (and succeded we believe). Our guys played smart basketball towards the end and the final score was 66-62 Braves. w00t! But enough about basketball. We headed back towards Carrollton and stopped and ate (Free for some, cheap for others), and got back at a semi-decent time. Sunday, we got up late and ended up going to Douglasville for a celebratory meal, which of course turned out to be steak (mmmmm steak), then did nothing for a while and came home, rented Reign of Fire, and were lazy for a while. Monday: Most people had class, so they were in and out all day, and Rhodesian's roommate awoke to a room full of strange people. Crystal came down from Rossville to talk to the FinAid people and stay for a while, and Shelsea (sp?) was up for the day, so there was a bit of tension in the air; just imagine, 1 ex-girlfriend, 1 current girlfriend, and 1 "just-friend" and the guy in the same place at the same time, it was .....interesting. But civility reigned and nobody died this time. I had pretty much had my fill of carrollton-excitement, so i headed home.

mmmmm Doughnuts
Saturday, March 1, 2003
Well, spring break is finally here and i whooped out my shorts and such. I went to krispy kreme and got 2 dozen assorted and glazed for tomorrow morning and such. Then went to Cici's and chowed down on some gnarly pizza, dude (sorry for that flashback). My car died due to a caliper/wheel bearing/rotor sticking, and had to be taken home on a wrecker. I then made the trip to Carrollton and got here just in time to see the last half hour of my big fat greek wedding (which is confusing as it is, but still seemed pretty funny. We gotta get up at ghetto-clock in the morning, so we're gonna see the end of this Iron Chef and hit the sack.

Ready for Spring Break
Friday, February 28, 2003
Yeah, its the thursday before spring break (why our spring break is March 3-7, ill never know), and im just ready for a week of not having all this crap to do. I spent all today sleeping and working on that big project for ME2110. Its gonna be a frikin huge project requiring a lot of time. Saturday, over 25 of us westgan's are heading down to valdosta to cheer on the braves basketball team in their last game. Then I'm gonna bum around carrollton and conyers for a couple days, maybe try out my new computer if it gets here. Who knows...

Day 1
Tuesday, February 25, 2003
I placed my order for a spanking new Dell (2.4 Ghz with all the trimmings (ask for details if you care)) today, gonna pay for it with income tax money when it comes. Placed next to last in my design class for out preliminary designs for part of this mining claim jumper, partly cause my ramp was too steep and my wheels too small. Spent most of the day talking to people online and even did a bit of studying (imagine that). Got some good news and heard some bad news (remind me to kick Rhodesia). Still waiting on pictures of that great party with the band and everything, but gonna miss the next one cause of family stuff (stupid early spring break). A bunch of us are going to Valdosta for the last Basketball game. Ok thats it.
