Super Size Me
again at bytz. wanted to sleep but decided instead to blog down something i've been wanting to for a while. watching Bowling for Columbine juz now for GP. it was thought-provoking the way moore structures his argument. but that's not the main point.
i've recently started to boycott macdonalds and fast food. almost completely. hey, how bout doing the same? look at their menu. did u realise that every item up there is unhealthy? sundaes, fries, soft drinks, burgers.. perhaps excluding their salad, which can be seen as sort of a pathetic attempt at promoting healthy eating. but hello, a few pieces of lettuce and tomato costs 2.50. the same price as a packet of fries. which would u choose?
what about the wages they pay to workers. mrs tan mentioned it in GP juz now. they are supposed to create employment especially for the elderly but does paying 3.50/hr justify the employment case? it is such a paltry sum for a huge conglomerate like macs. i bet if they cut down half of their advertising the workers will get 600% more pay. (subsequently suggesting that the advertising is really too much). it erodes thousands of years of culture just like that. the mass profileration of the big yellow M sign is disgusting.
they get their beef from places like brazil and stuff. that means more of the amazon rainforests gets chopped down to make way for cattle. there's a scar running down the amazon forest if u view from satellite images. it is the highway that runs through the forest, which destroys the forest microclimate.
oh yeah, an excerpt from the review of Super Size Me:
"A 33 year-old New Yorker in excellent health, he would eat nothing but McDonald's for an entire month, to gauge the effects on his body. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner at McDonald's and whenever they asked him to supersize, he would have to accept.
Before starting, he consulted three doctors, a cardiologist, a gastroenterologist, and a general practitioner, all of whom said this experiment obviously wouldn't be GOOD for him, but that the damages would be minimal.
Instead, the results were pretty shocking. Spurlock gained almost 30 pounds (over 10 in the first week), saw his cholesterol skyrocket, and experienced frequent nausea, chest pains, mood swings and loss of sex drive."
right. are you convinced then? haha.

heaven
Save me from this prison
Lord, help me get away
'Cause only you can save me now
From this misery
Well I've been lost in my own place
And I'm getting' weary
How far is heaven?
And I know that I need to change
My ways of living
How far is heaven?
Lord, can you tell me?
I've been locked up way too long
In this crazy world
How far is heaven?
I just keep on prayin', Lord
I just keep on livin'
How far is heaven?
(Oh, Lord, can you tell me?)
How far is heaven?
(I just gotta know how far it is)
How far is heaven?
(Oh, Lord, can you tell me?)
Tu que estas entrado al cielo, hechame tu bendicion
[translated from Spanish: you that's in a higher place, send me down a blessing]
'Cause I know there's a better place
In this place I'm livin'
How far is heaven?
So I just got to show some faith
And just keep on givin'
How far is heaven?
(Oh, Lord can you tell me)
How far is heaven?
(I just gotta know how far it is)
How far is heaven?
(Oh, Lord, can you tell me?)
How far is heaven?
I just gotta know how far
I just wanna know how far

peace out a town!
waiting for time to pass yet again in bytz. blasting some hiphop rap song with my sadly inadequate Creative headphones but still could hear the immature boys sitting across me guffawing over silly games like Pikachu Volleyball. ok probably its juz me but i really look like a criminal typing and looking nervously over my shoulders in case anyone should look at what i am writing. that's why i don't blog in bytz anymore.. oh the spotty boy beside me juz left the station. good. my jukebox is running out of batt :(
woah i really think i can survive on music alone. juz leave me and my jukebox alone with eternal batt and a v.v. comfortable pair of good quality headphones and i promise to leave everybody alone. so there. i want earphones where i can hear the thud of the bass! sigh i so relish the thud thud boom of bass.
today was a crappy kinda day in terms of lessons. watched the 2nd half of the movie who's afraid of virginia woolf, had maths lecture, s paper consultation and geog. that's all. ended at 12.20! and i can't stand maths lectures these days. i will like walk in with my bag, then immediately feel like walking out hurridly again. yucks. happily spent the maths lecture today reading my gatsby notes. i guess i'm dead for Stats. which reminds me of Hard Times. is it me or is there a parallel between us and the kids in that dickens' book? eee. why am i whiling away 2hr and 40 mins of my precious time? all because of maths again. remedial. what's up man maths is like the subject that i spend the most time and money on and its still my suckiest subject.
ooh. juz saw one of the Hong Kong students here on the exchange. seriously their blue cheongsams are the ultimate man. that girl is chio la! but the uniform~! with like socks drawn up high and black shiny buckle shoes. talk about a mass fashion disaster.
tmr is the step down for band seniors. SIGH. i don't wanna go from being a bandmember to a njc student. i'll have nothing in my life then! it'll be so empty. you know, there are times when i would look forward to band pracs as the sole saving grace for the day and get up to go to school. times when i will think about playing my trombone and producing the composition so that i'll be comforted and consoled to survive yet another day of lectures tutorials teachers stress. what am i to do now to relieve stress now that band is no more? right when i needed the escape into a totally different world? life is bleak.

You.
your light drizzle
falls.
a feathery blanket of moisture
misting the skin with its imperceptible touch
gentle as an angel's breath.
you caressed my upturned face
playfully swirling and cooling.
for that moment, it was as if you were with me.
a silent exhilaration grows as i could
almost, almost
feel that i'm being lifted by your feathers.
you know i am not ready.
with a drop of your hand the rain and wind left but
the lingering smell and damp tells me
you are waiting for me.

the broad njcsband connection
today was election day and the last band prac for year 2s.
i still can't figure out why did i stay in band after so many years. 10 years in band, that's more than half my life. was it the people? the music? it's everything.
so the new exco is straight from the oven and freshly baked. am proud of everyone of them. more pics in the NJCSB album.
the implications of having the last band prac for the year 2s struck me suddenly. the last time we would glance at the score and look up at mr. ho, trying to figure out what is he trying to convey. the feeling of having a band prac is indescribable. i'm just glad that i've the fortune of being a bandmember. i wish i had treasured the band pracs more. now that its gone, i know i will miss it v.badly.
what mr ho said today struck me a lot. i realised that sometimes what he says really does make sense. Music making is able to do things to people that no other activity can. it is incredible how without the use of words it is able to bond the players, discipline and teach. it reminded me of what mr. whitby said. that an work of art is eternal. as musicians, as artists, we immortalise art.
played Vesuvius again today. of course it brought back many memories of the 03' syf. it was exhilarating to play that piece again. I'll always remember how we played brilliantly at the competition in VCH (the top 5 finals perf was not as good). the piece is such that i think it matters if we were nervous. we'll juz transfer the nervous energy to make the piece even more intense. memories just flooded me as we ran through the piece today. how we stayed for night pracs, sectionals and carried on no matter what. Yes, mr. ho was right. that year was really a test of the mettle of NJCSB. and our tenacity was proved by achieving a gold.
Nothing is impossible.

i'm supposed to wake up at 6.10am tmr? sigh. don't feel tired though, how to sleep? the weather's still v.pleasant though hope it keeps up. the stars are so bright tonight due to the clear skies, it took my breath away as we were walking out of nj from the main gate (yes, meeting ended at 8.30!). felt like a "survivor" in the amazon or something.. an eternity could pass through just star-ing at them stars.
wanna read The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky after chancing upon this poem on a random site that lifted it from that book. i read reviews that it was similar to salinger's Catcher in the Rye, which i do agree is nice. poem by dr. earl reum.
~A Person A Paper A Promise~
Once on a yellow piece of paper with green lines
he wrote a poem
And he called it "Chops"
because that was the name of his dog
And that's what it was all about
And his teacher gave him an A
and a gold star
And his mother hung it on the kitchen door
and read it to his aunts
That was the year that Father Tracy
took all the kids to the zoo
And he let them sing on the bus
And his little sister was born
with tiny toenails and no hair
And his mother and father kissed a lot
And the girl around the corner sent him a
valentine signed with a row of X's
and he had to ask his father what the X's meant
And his father always tucked him in bed at night
And was always there to do it
Once on a piece of white paper with blue lines
he wrote a poem
And he called it "Autumn"
because that aws the name of the season
And that's what it was all about
And his teacher gave him an A
and asked him to write more clearly
And his mother never hung it on the kitchen door
because of its new paint
And the kids told him
that Father Tracy smoked cigars
And left butts on the pews
And sometimes they would burn holes
That was the year his sister got glasses
with thick lenses and black frames
And the girl around the corner laughed
when he asked her to go see Santa Claus
And the kids told him why
his mother and father kissed a lot
And his father never tucked him in bed at night
And his father got mad
when he cried for him to do it.
Once on a paper torn from his notebook
he wrote a poem
And he called it "Innocence: A Question"
because that was the question about his girl
And that's what it was all about
And his professor gave him an A
and a strange steady look
And his mother never hung it on the kitchen door
because he never showed her
That was the year that Father Tracy died
And he forgot how the end
of the Apostle's Creed went
And he caught his sister making out on the back porch
And his mother and father never kissed
or even talked
And the girl around the corner
wore too much makeup
That made him cough when he kissed her
but he kissed her anyway
because that was the thing to do
And at three A.M. he tucked himself into bed
his father snoring soundly
That's why on the back of a brown paper bag
he tried another poem
And he called it "Absolutely Nothing"
Because that's what it was really all about
And he gave himself an A
and a slash on each damned wrist
And he hung it on the bathroom door
because this time he didn't think
he could reach the kitchen.

Your soul is OPEN-MINDED. Although you do have strong opinions and make decisions, you never make them without thinking first of not only everything that is, but those that may not be as well. People trust that you'll willingly hear them out and understand when they tell you something, and you are well-liked for it. You are often the mediator in disputes and your desire to do what is right overcomes all else. You are an understanding and admirable soul.

wassup dawg
i'm overwhelmed by technology. Go see Apple's new ad here. definitely funkae. i wan an ipod! *whines* oh and iTunes Music Store! (d/l iTunes from apple.com) has soundtrack 30sec previews, mtvs and movie trailers..

oh no! i'm so spoiled for choices.
Here's a list of movies i wanna catch:
1. King Arthur (starring Keira Knightley and a Hans Zimmer OST! Pirates of Caribbean director! irresistable)
2. Mean Girls (chick flick starring teen star lindsay lohan.)
3. Stepford Wives (nicole kidman! man those dresses..)
4. maybe Garfield.. but sounds, looks, will be lame so i'll prob watch on com haha.
sigh. first day of school over. we seem to be experiencing a lagging monsoon. weather nice and rainy. accompanied missy to town for a tad of shopping. Pastamania's Crispy Cheese Pasta(not Prata!) rox. 30% student discount at Cine too, so its a measly 6.50 for bliss (pasta and drink). yum. i love cheese.
lol. i predicted my maths get max 30marks? (see past entry) and my prediction is super accurate. 29/100! yay. haha wateva. human geog was a surprise. like, huH?!? wat the hell kind. lol.

Youth Day
(firstly, a shoutout to my sis all the way in US. Hi!)
nice weather. juz the right amount of chill and breeze. explains why i am not getting to bed though there's sch tmr. *gasp* sch. riight. try telling that to my bio clock. ticking 5 past 8 now. lol. anyhow, a brief recap of today. oh ya, Greece won! haha wait must digress. I hereby proclaim this year as no, not the Year of the Lamb but the Year of the Underdog! they won! the bet-ers are crying! christiano sobs like a little boy, but Greece, with is attrition formula and German coach, takes it down in the most boring finals! aww. haha i heard the odds of 'em winning's . cool huh.
right, about today. accompanied rux to town for some business today. she was hungry, so..

the result was lunch. feelin' hungry? :P
anywae we walked around town, savouring the last day of Freedom and taking in the shopping paradise's sweetly perfumed air so as to etch this memory deep in our minds, which is going to be entrenched so deep in -wateva- soon that it will serve as the light at the end of the tunnel, the beacon in the storm. drizzled, slightly. went to far east (again!) to czech out(new spelling, its funkae ya!) the von dutch caps. woohoo. great buy. acquired a timepiece too. it was pretty much a pink explosion.
a guy would probably puke if he's to wear a pink watch, pink bottoms, own a pink comb, hp pouch, cap, handbag, and carry a pink plastic bag. how come its ok for gurls? haha. that's what we were doing, anyway.
lol. had a lame time taking all the pics of the soft toys me and my bro owned juz now.. he stuffs them in the cupboard and drags them out to mutilate once in a while (nah, joking). haha in commeration with Youth Day, we shall celebrate an integral part in every child's life. Soft toys! look at them here!

Counting Crows!
So she said what's the problem baby
What's the problem I don't know
Well maybe I'm in love (love)
Think about it every time
I think about it
Can't stop thinking 'bout it
How much longer will it take to cure this
Just to cure it cause I can't ignore it if it's love (love)
Makes me wanna turn around and face me but I don't know nothing 'bout love
Come on, come on
Turn a little faster
Come on, come on
The world will follow after
Come on, come on
Cause everybody's after love
So I said I'm a snowball running
Running down into the spring that's coming all this love
Melting under blue skies
Belting out sunlight
Shimmering love
Well baby I surrender
To the strawberry ice cream
Never ever end of all this love
Well I didn't mean to do it
But there's no escaping your love
These lines of lightning
Mean we're never alone,
Never alone, no, no
Come on, Come on
Move a little closer
Come on, Come on
I want to hear you whisper
Come on, Come on
Settle down inside my love
Come on, come on
Jump a little higher
Come on, come on
If you feel a little lighter
Come on, come on
We were once
Upon a time in love
We're accidentally in love
Accidentally in love (x7)
Accidentally
I'm In Love, I'm in Love,
I'm in Love, I'm in Love,
I'm in Love, I'm in Love,
Accidentally (X 2)
Come on, come on
Spin a little tighter
Come on, come on
And the world's a little brighter
Come on, come on
Just get yourself inside her
Love ...I'm in love

we all need a hero
ah i'm going crazy. there's a mad person beside me. i suspect happy tree friends did something to her. she's crappy..and crapping..and bugging me.. lol. guess who's tis person. her name is yili. 1 ball. haha. she's mad..and i'm mad..it runs in the family..
ouch my ankle feels warm (Counterpain Analgesic Balm). its swollen like never before man. twisted my ankle today..missed a step on the stairs and landed on my left ankle. it was so painful. like the shot of pain was so acute it feels numb. ouch. and the ironic twist was that i bought heels before that.. haha is that supposed to be a sign or something.
in reverse chronological order. twist ankle, buy heels, take neoprint, eat mos ichigo(yi ci guo) frozen strawberries, watch spiderman 2! more bout the show later. litpaper was horrible. i spent 2 hrs cramming virginia woolf from 12-2am w/o touching pinter, woke up late and was 5 mins late for the paper, where i chose to do essays for both. i'm screwed, i tell ya.
on a happier note, had a fun time taking neoprints!
right. bout spidey2. give it a 4/5 rating. don't think it measures up to other five-stars like LOTR. was laughing at the lameness/corniness of the show. again, the screaming and mass hysteria thingy. can't help thinking how the show would have been under some other zai director. its really too cheesy, sometimes. haha Tobey Mcguire's a loser man. so cute. some of the "emotional" scenes tend to get too lengthy and does not suit the pace to give it a thrilling ride. oh but do have to give credit for the cast, where i think Padme did a brilliant job. credit to the director too, it is really hard to direct a comic book film and achieve such stunning visual effects. i like the way spidey flys into the air. he will expand his limbs and its little details like this that makes the effects even more realistic. not to mention all the CGI. MJ, however, does not look the part of the sex symbol in the comic world. Kirsten Dunst do look better this time round with a nicer wig but that doesn't change her face. why can't they get Keira Knightly or Kristin Kreuk to act? both actresses have names starting with Ks what. enjoyed myself throughly though cos we picked good seats, the temp's ok and there's no crying babies. yay!

dream
slept like a baby till 1 plus today. shall restrain from further comments on the euro, the whole thing's probably rigged anyway. in much better mental condition then yesterday's 5 am post. listening to CC's Accidentally in Love again and again. such a wonderful song. haha i love the starting. how come a song can make a person feel so good? there's this heck-care, happy happy!, high feeling. umm. won't it be nice if love is such? instead of being a troublesome, problematic game?
caught spiderman 1 on bro's com juz now. (so that i'll know whats going on in 2..soon). it was good, but i can't help but think that its slightly cheesy the way the mortals point and say "look, its spiderman!". so psuedo-superman! haha the best hero is batman though. at least he's smart enough to cover his face when he wears his undies outside.. kirsten dunst is not v.pretty.. no eyecandy for me~! :(
oh, meeting today's cancelled. as well as band after tmr's lit paper. yay! haha i'm glad. 3 days of enjoyment before sch starts again on tues! have not touched the plays at all. should probably start soon rite? haha. oh yeah. dreamt a totally weird dream ytd. eeks.
list of places i wanna visit in my life.
1. New York, USA. exciting life!
2. Paris, France. romantic cafes by the seine
3. Venice, before it sinks
4. one of those ulu tropical islands with weird names and beautiful beaches.
5. Australia, cos Delta Goodrem made it sound so gd.
6. London. i love the brit accent!
7. Italy for real pizza and pasta.
8. Spain. top tourist destination in the world, must visit!
9. Thailand. Alex Garland's The Beach.
10. The Mediterranean. or the Caribbean. the mere "ean" in their names is exotic enough!

typical sunday. only thing special about it is its The Day Before Common Tests. its gonna be an interesting week man. does anyone feel like what i do now? obviously i did read my notes and stuff.. more than once for p.geog, but right now i am still feeling as if there's nothing inside the cavity at the top of my head. ask me something and i'll probably give you a blank look for 5 secs, then reply with a helpless "i don't know". ugh. that feeling sucked man. just can't get down to real work. like what i've been doing is just superficial, flippant work that serves only to placate my anxiety, not reinforce any knowledge. damn.
went to faith's house to *dy ytd. had good fun! haha we should do that more.. we made macaroni and cheese with pasta sauce. actually, faith made them. haha i juz stood around looking and cut up some cute button mushrooms. it tastes not bad, really. haha coupled with yummy hawaiian and meatlover's pizza, we went italian! lol.
hm. things i feel like doing now
go on a holiday to a exotic place
soak up the sun at a caribbean beach
get out of the education system
to get really really drunk
play my trombone
go shopping wif gurlfrens
play dress up and overdress in style
go to a chalet with our class
play with my pet dog
am i asking too much? grr. really really can't wait for As to be over. Pet phrase "after the As, i'll..."

c'mon england
seems like no one's interested in giving me any topic to write the next entry about.. shall fill this space with my usual blog-styled stuff then. ok. 1st thing. I actually missed the extra time btw eng and portugal last night! plus the penalty shootout! i know, how dumb can i get?!? haha am super angry at myself. stayed up the entire night watching the match.. but turned it off when they showed the ad after 90 mins, thinking,"oh wells, draw 1 all, everyone should be happy." but no, they had to fight it out. darn. blame it on my inexperience (no scv!). hrmph. damn sad, eng's out juz like that? what's euro for then? czech republic? haha. beckham! why why why? haiyah make me no mood to study. i'll fail my CT all because of beckham.
oh yeah, hotmail is rolling out more storage space next month! from a measly 2mb to 250mb! woohoo haha tis is great news. yahoo is currently providing 100mb..which is already alot. haha no more exploitation by hotmail. finally. but nothing beats Gmail.. 1gb of space..=4 times 250mb.
what else.. slacked the whole day away, but at least i finished my functions. left numerical methods and complex nos. leaving out 3D trigo and vectors, useless studying anyway. shall complete geog later.. and do a maths paper. yep. ok, things do not look that bad. now the only thing left hanging is lit. donne and m4m. ><
counting crow's accidentally in love is damn nice! in love wif that song. don't u think its such a happy, carefree song? like it has the "to the hell wif the world, i'm in love" kinda attitude :)

english compo
taking a breather from terms like pleistocene, halocene, milankovitch cycles, inter-tropical convergence zone and e what-nots you get from geog climate. ugh. think it is the hardest topic to study for. the notes are so little.. in terms of clear, well-defined notes with points for me to memorise. listening to mantovani(some violin person) on my bro's com, which is wat i'm using btw.
take a look at the site counter.. haha its quite interesting to note the site visit numbers for every hour. seems like pple are the most bored around midnight. hm.
went for a jog ytd at bishan park, a first! are you proud of me? really had a urge for running ytd.. even though it was supposed to be real hazy and stuff. so after muggin in nj wif wing and lin took a bus home.. the urge was really so strong. there's something about the air.. the temperature.. the boredness.. to combine perfectly into a urge to run. felt damn good too.. at least i know i have muscles.. (cos they screamed for attention after the run). practised my IFAH too. my shoulder blades hurt i think i din stretch after..
oh hey, remember in sec sch when you have to do eng compos of narrative nature? not like in jcs when all you do r argumentative essays.. i wonder what is the logic in all of this. why can't the As let pple still recall their creative juices once they grow and hit 18? you mean 18 yr olds are not as imaginative as before and should be trained to argue their way into the working world? that's quite a sad revelation, isn't it? logic can also be shown in narrative. wat's more, the reader gets entertaintment, humor and real insight to the author's psyche. so that is why, dear readers, you get a chance to determine the content for my next entry. it will be a narrative piece of writing, specifically catering to the sentence you want me to include in it, or the headling of it. the best suggestion will be voted. c'mon. gimme a chance to revisit the ol' eng. compo, O-level style. leave the suggestion in the comment box! :)
P.S. the o.c. rox! haha tis wk's episode is qt nice. can't believe they r skipping one wk of o.c. that is juz pure meanness, don't you think? i can't function without my weekly drug!

psi reading
hello world! aren't you cloaked in a pretty white gauze dress today. it was particularly cooling too i guess? that's good, that's good. i think you look pretty beautiful in that dress, but do take care not to wear it too often, because you might catch a cold. wrap up in your greens and browns, they are snug and natural and good for you. you might have to oblige and put on that lousy drab gray once a while, but don't despair, just put it on and get on with it. reward yourself by having a light shower after, and put on a clean dress. that's my girl. that's my world.
a nice analogy heard from the radio, p10 no less.
"Happiness is like pissing in your pants.
Everyone can see it, but only you can feel its warmth."
-Daniel White
and this is good too. from coolquotescollection.com
"I am not a vegetarian because I love animals; I am a vegetarian because I hate plants."
-Whitney Brown
okok, enuff of quotes you plead but i just can't resist this.
its beautiful.
"Happiness is to see the world in a grain of sand, and Heaven in a wild flower, to hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in a single hour."
-William Blake

beat! tis pic rox! they look super together man..

nothing much, went to nj to study wif beat after having lunch at adam wif beat and wing. lol quite hilarious the way i couldn't wake up at 8. supposed to meet them at 9 in the end i overslept all the way to 12. can't blame me, i slept at round 3! haha its juz not the way its done to get up when the sun is barely shining.
erm.ok. shall go and integrate somemore.

the king
i think i'm falling in love with Elvis Presley. or at least, his voice. gosh went on a downloading buffet and downloaded like 41 songs by him. and there's still pending downloads. his voice is truly the Voice from the King of Rock n Roll.. and his love songs are so tender and sentimental! esp. liked his Don't Cry Daddy.. its so sad but nice. ahh. where's the elvis for our age? all u get are pple singing weird songs that become popular for like a month. he's like so unsurpassed in everything..

(*)dy!
ok am supposed to finally get down to doing some work today.. err. yep, keyword is supposed, the slacker i am. today's a saturday! there's 1 more wk left! am starting to look forward to school. haha. tis kinda lifestyle is really not v.healthy, you know. ooh wassup wif tis ger called Maggie Q, she's like damn hot but how come i've nv noticed her before till now? haha. she's so pretty.
lets see what work i'm supposed to clear. i finished statistics in tuition, thank god. all i have now is the rest of the crap e.g. functions, vectors, integration, trigo... my god. haha. then geog.. phy geog there's climate. but my notes are skeletal.. human geog is juz another repeat of the tourism and stuff.. lit is horrible. donne as compulsory! oh no his poems are like how long and thick. not doing hard times, that i'm sure, so its m4m. urgh. caretaker and virginia woolf.. needs some serious studying too. my essay grades for that paper is usually not as up to standard. hm.

You are a GRAMMAR GOD!
If your mission in life is not already to
preserve the English tongue, it should be. Congratulations and thank you!

what does the fish say when it hit the wall? dam.
am typing really really softly now and not my usual clacking-wacking style cos my uncle's asleep beside the com. and all the lights are off cept the monitor. ouch. went for class dinner jez now. it was alright, ate at fish and co. seafood platter esp the raisins rocked. felt like a prawn mass murderer since wing doesn't take prawns. she said fabian is a prawn lol. anywae it was funny the way the receipt adds up and its 10 bux more when it should be only 6 bux deficit (the prawn was broke!). oh wells after that guess wat. we walked.. yes, all the way from centrepoint to the esplanade. was the funniest and longest walk in my life. fabian + daniel + jerry + amir is fatal. jerry walked with me and beat though at our famous 2 km/hr speed. much more comfortable, you should try it sometime. so anywae, we walked and walked to the esplanade basement and guess what, we din even reach the bay. the guys wanted to go home so we all juz left for the mrt. haha anti-climatic yeah but actually walking is quite good too la.. exercise after the giant meal! oh. and can't believe how "lucky" i am. tried playing the zong ji mi ma thingy but when we finally concocted the spoonful of chilli-garlic-tartar sauce plus loads of other crap i kena. on my first try. haha maybe i should bet on the euro but can't find spools juz now.
speaking of tar tar sauce, lol. fabian tried asking the waitress for extra mayo.. and the waitress replied "its tar tar sauce.. human makes mistakes" haha so we asked fabian to call her and ask for the "dry dry sauce" (tar in hokkien?) when it din come after a while but she din manage to serve us. the service costs a whopping 28 bux for the 11 of us! :(
juz watched Nip Tuck.. the show is damn screwed up la. watching in horrid fascination as the cast juz screws around. and the son looks like micheal jackson. my gosh. the "good guy" in the show likes his client, then goes around to scold his partner in the business about having social relationships with tis girl who looks like the wife of the "good guy" cos he likes her. the wife is then screwing around with her classmate that is barely older than her son cos he looks like the "good guy"'s partner. geddit? then the son is caught in a threesome. wonderful. screwed uP? definitely :P
oh and on the way home on the mrt.. there's this 6 indonesian kids who came on to the mrt wif their 3 mothers and they were the worst of the lot. they r just the sort that i would like to strangle! they juz took one look at daniel and jerry sitting at the door of the mrt and followed suit. in a circle, at the entrance of the train. they were making such a din.. noisy, boisterous, screaming, squealing kids. my god. my eyes almost rolled on the floor and got squashed by them. it was quite funny though. wow i guess after such a display pple who saw and were thinking of having kids would banish that idea to the darkest corner of their minds. talk about government encouragement. such kids should be banned as the first step. little horrors.
P.S. I juz downloaded the next episode of O.C. and its taking all my self-control not to watch it before thurs. believe me, it needs all the self-control i possess. its burning in my C drive!

oc high
on oc high now! that episode is still rocking my socks off.. if i had worn them in the first place. seth and anna! marissa and ryan! my gosh..such intensity in the last 5 mins is too much for anyone to bear. the ferris wheel scene esp is all romantic, cute and funny all rolled in one! woohoo! o.c. rox o.c. rox o.c. rox. ok i betta stop haha. can't wait for the next! i'm addicted!
oh yeah anywae these two days rocked. yep yep went to s'pore's own sunny bit of offshore land (sentosa, duh) for some desperate tanning(haha rux, rite?). applied generous helpings of rux's banana boat "Golden Tanning Lotion" haha makes our skin looked damn shiny and golden. according to wen, ready to fry and eat! yep so we happily spread wen and rux's towels on the very sandy sand and realised oops, there's 3 of us, not enuff space. haha so me and wen went to this stall selling all sorts of beach stuff and saw a sign "buy a straw mat for (with any purchase)" but being as blur as usual we tot it was juz 3 bux. oh! its 8 bux, the shopkeeper says, and tactfully pointed to the sign. haha we laughed (albeit a bit awkwardly) and ok, "so what's the cheapest thing you got?" "oh, we have a packet of marbles of 1 dollar," the man replied, with a amused grin on his face. so we happily bought it and got the mat for 3 bux. ain't we clever! haha.
there we are, bathing in the sunshine.. a bit boring though juz lie there listening to the radio with our faces covered by smothering towels. like pieces of satay peng-ing on the grill.. made a marble-face on the sand, wanted to play Marbles but we din noe how. haha the sun was quite gentle huh, we din even feel burnt. after a while, got bored so decided to go to The Southern-est Point of Southeast Asia? is that it? or something.. over the swinging bridge to the tower. the wind is damn nice! whipped our hair all over our faces but who cares. oh wells got back to our towel and went into the salty sea. *makes face* its really really damn salty. haha rux said that's cos i peed. "well i must have a bladder the size of singapore" i replied. dotz haha we exfoliated with natural sand and minerals man. it was hilarious.
erm went to wash up, bought nachos at 7-11 to eat and went home but wait- i realised on the stupid-monorail-that-pronounces-the-station's-name-in-retarded-japglish that we've lost our marbles, literally! yes we forgot to keep them and left it on the sand! hahahaha. on the way home rux says she dun feel like going home yet. ah..wen's going to the airport to study. haha. anywae in the end rux came over to my house to ton. its her first! congratulations.
err wanted to bet on the portugal and russia match but din have an available spools nearby so too bad. the odds r lousy anyway. haha no hope of me snowballing my 8.80 yet. yep we stayed up the night to watch The Italian Job on my computer and it was damn nice! (i don't have cable for Euro 04 :( ) yup then went to lalaland.
oh oh, today.. we woke up at like 11? and had some breakfast then rux left to meet me back in an hr's time. we are going to our tuition teacher's house to swim! haha yep. another first for me! lol yes i swam before.. in a real swimming pool it'll be like.. 4 yrs back? err i don't even have a proper swimming costume but its condo nvm. the pool is nice, i'll like it colder though. my pathetic "swimming" really cmi. only my back-floating-kicking style moves. haha. ya anywae we became blacker and not more tan after that. to our horror. haha not golden but blacK! >< anywae i think we'll have some pictures for you all soon for ur viewing pleasure. lol. yep can u imagine? doing maths after swimming? for 4 hrs? 3-7! oh well i finished my statistics though can't complain wuahaha.
P.S another long entry punctuated by irritating "haha"s. don't blame me, blame the sugar i took while eating the sticky yellow glutinous dumpling. haha!

i won!
yes, i did! yesh. haha sweden did not disappoint with a 5 nil. lol talk about extremes. poor peihua though she din win anything. haha if only i betted 100 bux- then i'll get back 76 bux! oh wells if there's anymore sure-win bets i'll bet 8.80 on it.. and it'll snowball.. and snowball.. hahaha. mad. gonna do some work today yeah hm wats it gonna be? i have no idea. lol this blog is hilarious. found it somewhere..
so how did you find the new layout? makes vision seem a bit uncorrected yeah. haha tell me how u feel bout the layout in the comment box. i'll do something bout it if you do, promise :)

wassup world~ its late at night, the sun is shining on the soccer pitch at Porto instead haha. went out wif my fav. les partner to catch up on the news man. walked around town and she bought the New Paper. she opened it and investigated the odds. she got me interested. sweden and bulgaria huh. haha anywae to cut a long story short i decided to go wif her to the Singapore Pools at Lucky Plaza to make my first bet. legal one too! haha it's a lucky 5 bux bet.. if tonight sweden wins i get 8.80 back (fa ah! lol).. anywae hahah juz betting for fun. not enuff money to bet bigger lol. the odds are like 1.76.. so interesting rite. nevertheless i'm excited! haha i'll be damn sad if i lose the 5 bux. i believe in beginner's luck!
