thanks benson for giving me the 17-inch CRT! such a nice guy! thanks jm for the songs and movies! also such a nice guy! haha yay got new monitor, no longer have to suffer from adjusting the screen all day long to see the left side of it. ytd was a Visit Pple's Houses day. haha. i miss beat already! she's off to genting, lucky gal. i wanna go overseas! i dun mind sentosa, rux, tanning! yep.

another typical holiday day. you wake up in the afternoon when the weather is too hot to sleep and you are too hungry to stay horizontal, forage for some food from the fridge, take out the papers and scourge the Life! section, flipping to the comics first before diverting the rest of ur short attention span to other matters. finished with the papers, you loiter about the house, switching on the tv and flipping channels or alternately going online and finding nobody on msn. some mp3 will be on, you will be typing into your blog or reading other pple's blogs. when it gets too boring online, you go to the fridge again, oh look, there's some milk. take out the cereal box, pour some milk. umm. after masticating the entire bowl of flaky corn you might feel lethargic so you return to your room, on the fan and have a siesta. while laying in half-slumber, you guiltily think about what subject you should be starting on before drifting to dreamless unconsciousness...

a walk to remember
(Tuesday, June 8, 2004 12:49 a.m.)

ya i noe i outdated but i finally caught that show! ah its so so so sweet. bittersweet, actually. mandy moore is so pretty.. shane west is such an ultimate bf. sigh.. i guess this kinda things only happen in scripts. in the sweet autumn air with a hint of chill, a couple holding on to each other in their own perfect world swirling with a myriad of rainbows, secure in the knowledge that no matter what happens, the other one will always to be there for you.

feeling very restless. the sudden lack in activity after the geog trip and band camp is totally anti-climatic. and i found out the reason for my tiredness today. went to the optician and discovered with an unpleasant shock that my vision has worsened from 450 to 650. a total jump of 200 degrees. no wonder, the strain. the optician said i'm over-using the com.. and he recommended that i wear computer lens for the next 3 months and abstain from contacts. also revealed that going for LASIK in the future will not do me any good cos the side effects of that is premature lao3 hua1..

the story me and wing wrote on the bus on the way to malacca for lunch! haha its the best story eva man! give us some comments yeah :P

Geog Trip
(Sunday, June 6, 2004 11:59 a.m.)

hi pple, i'm back! everyone wants to know "how was the geog trip". haha luckily, i did a mini journal on the long trips on the coach. overall, it was a fantastic week. i think it would belong to the "most memorable" category in my life.. i think such trips with a big group of friends will never come across anymore so i'll treasure it and lock it safely in my memory. all i can say is that WE ROCK and i'm glad i have such good friends :)

**

-Monday, 31st May
Went to njc atrium early in the morning at 6.30. was really excited about the trip. boarded the bus and reached the immigration. did all the checking stuff and got on the coach that is gonna stay with us for the next 5 days. Our tour guide introduced himself to us as mr. soman.

-10.42 pm
The stupid pro-malaysian guide wants us to write about the things we've seen along the way. Seriously, can't stand that irritating, forceful attitude. Some of the things he said was really offensive to us singaporeans.

10 diff kinds of stuff we see on this bumpy bus
1. oil palm. everywhere you turn to you see those squat trees.
2. saw mills
3. small linear settlements along roads with gaudily painted shophouses
4. rubber plantations, durian trees and banana trees
5. graves of all religions
6. buildings of worship. temples, mosques, churches..
7. signboards everywhere with malay on them.
8. power grids and cables (that are soon to go underground)
9. galvanised zinc roofs
10. cows!

approaching Segamat Bahru. Pottery shops were spotted, indicating that the clayey soil around was probably good for such production. The buildings everywhere are at most 2 stories high. seriously deficient in high rise buildings that we are used to. mostly car/manufacturing related shophouses.

-11.57pm.
we ate at a restaurant in a hotel (with cockroaches in the toilet). the food was alright, 2.5/5.
Got on the coach. mr barber used the time to imbibe us with some geog. he said that m'sia has growth corridors where by the gov. is trying to improve upon transport links. obstacles that prevent change are the inequalities the east coast has to catch up with places like KL. there's a rural development scheme going on.

-1.34 pm.
2 huge flies in the bus. doug killed one by covering the fly with a tissue against the window and squashing it. damn gross, you can see the whole fly's splattered form thru the semi-translucent tissue. the sun in m'sia seems particularly merciless on this hot hot day. maybe its the same in s'pore but when we left it at dawn it was dreamy and perfet. the sun was still cradled by its crib of clouds. now it beats relentlessly on the shining plots of white palm trees as we slowly baked in the crikety bus. groaning and jolting like a broken rollercoaster. soman is lecturing us again, forcing us to listen to m'sia's history, successes and good points. nobody seems to be absorbing. undulating hills of stunted oil palm without a single soul in sight. such a godforsaken place. the mic comes thru like a 1960s propaganda radio that ceaselessly promotes, enthusiastically pumping information.

-7.20 pm.
we went to the Telok Cempedak Beach to study the granite outcrop as well as do some tourism research in the afternoon. was quite enjoyable and it was the first time i see such obviously jointed rock! fantastic. too bad din bring my cam down. it rained a while, and it was the only time it did rain on this trip. Our bus broke down went travelling to the restaurant at Grand Continental hotel. the food there was not v.good, gave it a 2/5. was entertained by the Backseat Boys, namely Jerry, Daniel, Doug and Khalid. song after song they tortured us. they can sing anything under the sun. imagine the winces they got from us. haha damn corny they do that all the time.

-Tues, 1st June, 8.15am
reached our hotel last night. you cannot believe how excited we were to see that magnificent building on top of the hill at Kuantan. its the 4-star Swiss Garden Resort and Spa and believe me, its more of a 5 star man. the wind was chilly uphill but it was so refreshing. we felt so blessed! the room was great. luxurious.. the bath was refreshing. gosh i'm gushing haha but its really really damn nice. roomed with ah boy and ah gong. hee. had a short debrief then went to other pple's room to spent some time hanging out. fun.

had to wake up at 6.30 though, and had breakfast. the atmosphere by the poolside was so relaxed. 3/5! the trip is really improving. we tot it was hell with soman and all but hey, given the king's treatment at the hotel we couldn't really complain can we?

reached the magnificent Panching limestone mountain. on the way saw this really nice tower karst with clouds enveloping it. We climbed from the base of the mountain all the way up. it was an indescrbable experience. it was like at least 200 steps of uneven, chalky steps cut into the mountain with a fragile rail at the side for you to hang your life onto. i juz kept staring the the steps in front of me. in this case, i would advise not to look UP! it is a daunting 90 degree slope. you can feel concentration beading on your forehead. whew. it felt so satisfying to reach the limestone caves.

it was a sight to behold. such a impressive gaping hole made by nature. stalactites and stalagmites all around, looking even more grotesque because of the green moss. swallows swooped in and out. graffiti was all around though, so unsightly. took loads of pics. then climbed a bit further down to reach another cave. it was pitch dark with spots of lights and the ceiling was very high. i think it's another sort of a cave because the surface of the cave is smooth with gentle rounded depressions. we walked all the way in, guided by the boys who lived in the cave. saw a gigantic sleeping buddha. according to the boy, light from the sun will shine thru the hole in the ceiling of the cave to reach the buddha at around 11-12 noon. how cool is that? woohoo.

boarded the bus again, with its strong blasts of aircon. thank god for civilisation. oil palm as scenery again, how interesting. i think m'sia should juz invest in ecotourism (look at the caves!) and forgo the oil palm thingy. got to the Pandan Waterfalls for stream studies. can you imagine the excitement when i saw the waterfall? it was such a eye-opener. i mean, its my first waterfall! so cool. most of them got into the plunge pool, esp the guys, whether or not they have spare clothes. i stayed dry though, but would very much like to feel what its like under the natural jacuzzi! took loads of photos. went further downstrean to measure the river. spent time doing the orange thing. had to measure velocity of river using an orange as the float. the river meanders! and there's a pointbar! sedimentation! haha nice geog.

had lunch at some place famous for its stuffed crab. it was nice. 3.5/5 for ethnic local food! on our way back to hotel, stopped at this ex-quarry site with granite rocks. we can see rills and gullies and exfoilation and all that. took a group shot there. at the hotel, had a debrief and shared what we did at the river. presented our beach research too. we are learning stuff! hee hee. it was our last night at this fantastic hotel.

-Wed, 2nd June, 7.55 am
on our way to KL. last night was so memorable. we had a BBQ dinner by the pool! we expected something like the singapore chalet bbq thing, but no, it was a formal dinner setting with round table-clothed tables, wine glass, and cutlery (i din noe which spoon to use). chefs to help us grill food, waiters to clear our plates, great music from the speakers, satays, buffet, ice-kachang machine, at least 5 diff kind of pies and awesome choco cake dripping with choco... we felt so pampered and luxurious. can't believe this trip only costs 335-100 subsidy. woohoo.

went back to hotel room chocked full with rich foods. hanged out a while in the hotel room before checking out the Malibu Bar they had with jerry, doug, dan, khalid and sharon.. it was really v.dotz haha the 2 oldish-but-still-wear-until-liddat female singers can't sing. jerry treated me to Pinacolada, which is damn nice. pineapple-ish and tropical. he ordered loads of drinks. the small shot of drink was quite funny cos the waitress couldn't light up the alcohol with the blue flame. when they finally did, you are supposed to stick the straw in, drink it in one swoop while someone pours the milk in. hahah. damn funny doug and daniel each burned a straw cos they were too slow. we hurridly got out of the club after that, can't stand a moment longer with the singing. i think the backseat boys can do better! haha. doug's drink, The Brain, tasted like mint choco ice cream. jerry's Grasshopper was strong but nice. hee. i din't get drunk though, really! got back to someone's room and played some games. i love this kinda gathering. like chalet..

-afternoon
went to the Telecomms Tower in KL. it takes 57 sec for the lift to reach the top.. it was super high. had a bird's eye view of the whole of KL, and we are supposed to do some sketching to identify city structure. went to do urban studies around the monorail after that at Bukit Bintang. the monorail's damn screwed la. we are supposed to go to the end of the rail, Titiwangsa, so we can look how the city changes, then turn back to stop at the Chulan station for our pedestrian/traffic and building count before going back to the meeting station, bukit bintang. in the end we had to buy 3 tickets cos we are not allowed to turn around at the Titiwangsa. so we got out the station, went in again, took the train, stopped at chulan, then got in again to go back to bukit bintang. what crap right? i bet the station pple juz wanna make things diff for us singaporeans, cos why can't we turn back? no diff! s'pore mrt is so much better.

went shopping then. din buy anything at all, and we got lost in BB plaza, then Lot 10, then F.O.S. sharon did a fortune-telling in Lot 10 and it was damn accurate. quite shocking, the things he said, juz by look at her hands! then got around to Radius International hotel's restaurant for dinner. same place we had our lunch. food was.. juz a 3/5. Backseat Boys, as usual after that travelled along a huge highway all the way to Shah Alam. saw the longest megamall on the way. :( can't shop. Blue Wave hotel is juz situated beside the famous Blue Mosque. it was quite a sight to see the huge egg-shaped dome. haha we could see it from our room too (and hear the prayers..). the hotel was lousy la, compared to Swiss Garden. the thing is, its "the first 5-star distinction in Shah Alam". my foot. the towels were less fluffy, the room was a square artic, and the corridors are so run down. hm couldn't complain much though. slept early and din go to pple's rooms.

-Thurs, 3rd June
breakfast was about the same as Swiss garden's, in terms of what kinda food they have. freaky how it's the same everywhere? haha. oh.. jerry was sick though and he din join us, as well as one of the yr3s. ms ting stayed with him, poor guy. the trees outside the hotel are square! so unnatural. haha looks like a square hedge with a trunk. went to the rice plantation at Tanjong Karang. it was really an enriching experience cos we learnt a lot from the person who gave us a talk on the irrigation schemes, how they grow the rice all that. i think he was quite surprised we asked so many questions. the problem with the plantation was that young pple no longer wanna be farmers.. yep i think i've really learnt a lot. after the talk in the conference room went around the fields. saw real rice on stalk for the first time, as well as the irrigation canals and sluice gates etc.

went to oil palm factory next. we were only allowed to stand around near the outside of the factory. haha daniel was chewing on his bubblegum when yiling thought he was eating the oil palm fruit since he was holding one in his hand. really looked as if he's eating it! so yiling went and bit on her oil palm fruit with this really weird expression on her face. hahaha so funny. daniel felt really guilty after that. heehee. the place was damn stinky. almost couldn't breathe. all that processing smell.. eeww can puke.

lunch at this place situated above the river. had some nice seafood, crab and salad prawns, sotong etc. wat's gross is that the sewage goes directly into the river. that they got all the seafood from. can you imagine?? my god. travelled all the way, then had dinner at another restaurant. can u imagine our horror as the exact same dishes came out? only the tofu was different. my god. haha. generally today din do much, and din go firefly watching as planned :( went back to the hotel. no briefing, so we had a lot of time.. went to pple's room to crap and play cards with the a01 girls. asshole daidee and mahjong haha. slept at 2! last night, must play more.

-Fri, 4th June
woke up later this morning at 7 and had same buffet breakfast like all mornings. played lame games on the coach. haha went to visit the Putrajaya and saw the pink mosque. the place is so pretty, but very isolated. too bad the addidas shop was closed in the morning so we couldn't shop. walked around the ornamental town, took some photos.. and from there went to Malacca for lunch at a golf resort. lunch was as usual, very predictable. after 5 days, we could generally predict the dishes. usually its 6 course, there'll be tofu, chicken in black sauce, kailan or xiaobaicai, at least a sweet and sour dish of fish or chicken, prawns/crabs/fish.. haha. soup is usually cabbage with carrot and fishballs. dessert is watermelon and honeydew. sometimes with agar agar. they never serve cold water, only tea or warm plain water. took a group shot outside the golf place. from there its straight back to singapore. long journey, entertained ourselves by playing Truth or Dare. the card-drawing thingy was damn exciting haha whoever gets the smallest cards out of three rounds will have to do forfeit. hahah did loads of stuff. shan't reveal em haha.

-5pm plus
across the immigration, back to sunny singapore! yay! missed it v.much. HDB buildings never looked so good after miles and miles of palm oil. haha we started singing all the corny singaporean songs like Stand Up for Singapore and all that..patriotic huh? hee. when we reached NJ, Inilah and National Dream juz bursted out spontaneously from us. hahaha how's that for school spirit. yep yep.

we wanted to watch Harry Potter, so decided, what the hell, go back home then come out again to watch the show! haha happening right. me, beat, layz, wing and daniel met at yishun. i rushed like mad la! but turned out the show as at 8.30 instead of the 6.50 we booked. haha hung out at yoshi till the time for the show. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was good, rate it a 4/5. the cinema was freezing though and this irritating baby keeps making noises and crying. i think infant in arms should be banned in movies. i hate kids grr. haha. the i preferred the 1st 2 movies in the HP series though think that under the new director the show's more dark.. sombre and evil.. sort of like LOTR. more quidditch and comedy pls! haha.

-Sat, 5th june
went nj for band day camp. played the piece Amazonia. quite enjoyable.. din join in the games though was arranging library scores with swee in band room. cleared loads of stuff up, was quite glad we can sort out some of the mess. exco game in the evening. me and nicole had to dress up as ghost sisters. nicole's character died after she was raped by jumping off the building while mine's supposed to die by hanging herself. it was damn scary, the preparation part. we had to set up a altar(red cloth on table, 2 candles, the eggcake pple use for offerings and a mirror) at the TB block staircase and wear red robes. nicole had to sit on the ledge and sing eerie-ly. her two ponytails looked effective. the makeup too. haha it was fun to scare pple though. tiring to stand there for the whole 2 hours. went home and blacked out on my bed.

**

so, that's it. how's that for a super-duper long entry? typed from 11 to 2, are you proud of me? haha i hope you have not given up on reading. woke up finally at 11 today. whew. wat a trip, what a week. i miss the geog girls. wells, lets look at the photos, shall we? here!

~voila~
(Sunday, May 30, 2004 08:16 p.m.)

how's this for the bare minimum of all designs. got sick of trying to source for the bestest deezine on the universe and decided, oh what the hell, i'll juz do mine. voila! in 10 mins its done. a tasteful blend of red, white and black. which, btw, are the 3 primary colours a baby can see when he's born. cool eh? haha shameless self-praise. oh wells, no more irritating background music.

taking a break from packing for geog trip. its the most nerve-wrecking thing i can think of. the number of clothes i need, wat else did i forget.. all running through my mind at least a dozen times. and i don't have a poncho! >< high chance of being drenched then, a brolly is no help. today's flash flood was really bad.. roads were half submerged in muddy slosh. got stuck at amk and spent the waiting-out time reading CLEO at the nearby Popular.

i'm tired out but i'm sleeping a lot these days. i think my lifespan is gonna shorten. according to studies if you sleep more than 9 hrs or less than 5 per day ur lifespan will decrease. woopee! i should sleep more :D whats the point in living so long? haha. i hope i dun space out on the bus man. 9 hrs of travelling! :S

btw, delta goodrem's australia ad is nice! love the song.

btw btw, if you still haven got it, i'll be away in m'sia till friday. dun call or msg me, auto-roam damn ex haha!

where's my muse. moose? mooses.
(Saturday, May 29, 2004 12:39 a.m.)

starting to notice a unhealthy pattern here. sleeping from 6 to 10, eating dinner and watching tv till 12, then shower and wait for my hair to dry till wee hrs in the morning. but, hey, who cares, its the hols! woohoo~ lets all pop pink fizz and dance around with the tribal energy fuelled by maths foolscap and blocks of words. celebrate, let the joy seep into your bones like decomposing bateria.

i supposed a blog is good for all sorts of things. am i now supposed to write about my resolutions for the june hols that should be well-utilised to advance my piddling knowledge regarding academic subjects? but then, the key word here is SHOULD. so instead of writing like a saint, saying oh, i'm gonna come back from the geog trip and settle down, do some maths, clear my doubts, recapsulate one and a half yr's work, i'm saying heck care, i'll do work if i bloody feel like and if i don't, too bad. haha! how's that for a strong declaration of labour.

inspired by the LitWing's publication of My Word. oh btw, if interested, contact me. A book of prose and poetry going for 7 bux. (i feel like a salesperson!)

the fan whirls and my hair swirls
the night barely silent in its repose
the day was foggy while the breeze streams
like a playful child everywhere.

i wonder why am i doing this
tapping, on the keyboard
into the depths of my mind
when i don't even know what to write.

then i caressed a fallen rose petal
gingerly touching the natural velvet
held it to my nose, a faint vestige of
that mysterious smell still lingering.
delicate lines ran across the pink half-cup,
but the edges scarred by brown brutality
the rose is but a mass-produced manufactured product
denied of its natural birth by Man.

a predestined symbol of love, then, is created.
its fake, girl, don't believe in it.

(Friday, May 28, 2004 12:31 a.m.)

it's been a while since i've blogged. oh wells, nothing much goin' on, still suffering a bit from post-concert depression but its alright since i'm looking forward to our geog field trip! haha can't wait, 3 more days! yep yep. oh started reading this v.interesting book this morning, A Brave New World by Adrous Huxley. can't believe the yr 1s are doing that for lit. not fair! its quite similar to Orwell's 1984, only more interesting. haha i love a good satire.

AMI was disappointing.. its juz so anti-climax. like, a few shocks then suddenly you find yourself left with 2 choices that are not that great. yeah i mean, how can anyone stand having Fantasia blast an entire album out from the stereo? haha i was watching the pre-results show and fell asleep right when they announced the results, then woke up again to shower, hence my current situation of wantin to sleep but waitin for my hair to dry.

really sleepy- and suffering from a lack of the weekly O.C dose

fantabulous!
(Sunday, May 23, 2004 02:04 p.m.)

class pics! Add pics if u have!
band pics!Add pics if u have!

etude is over! huge success! the only thing that would make it even more perfect was if there's a video recording of the whole show, damn it. why why why. mixed feelings bout it. sad that its over, relief that i can finally do some work. i guess everyone who had concerts b4 will know. god how i love performing. i love the audience, the smattering of applause, the expectant faces turned up to you waiting for you to entertain, to show what you can do. i'm in the band for 9 years. its the music, the pple, the stage that draws me to stay on for half of my life.

etude night was great too. i saw a shooting star! haha my first, too! it was on the roof of yixin's house. her house is damn artistic.. and her 2nd level is great to hang out in man, with the hammock, slanting ceilings, roof you can lie on to look at the jewels in the sky.. ahh. ate by the roadside.. we look funny sitting in a row. went for a walk, got back, looked at stars, stoned around.. till bout 5 before deciding to becoming horizontal like everyone else. haha slept for 2 hrs, woke up and stoned, then got home and slept. went out to meet jerry, fab, beat, khalid, ailin and faith for supposed movie, ended up going to glass house to have seafood platter. went jerry's house afterwards to watch the funny crap called Scary Movie1. spent some time messing round wif riddle like the MRT one. haha nice nice. i love these 2 days. fantastic.

high A flat
(Wednesday, May 19, 2004 11:46 p.m.)

incredibly exhausted but waiting for hair to dry so i might as well blog and alleviate the vehemence in my previous entry. band till 9 today, as usual. sometimes think we waste a lot of time doing nothing during band pracs. i guess the exco/music comm can be somewhat considered a failure. yes, i recognise that we are to blame for many things. inefficiency, disorganisation, lack of proper communication with the band. sigh.

the concert seems to be the pivotal concern in my life now. weird how one can get totally obsessed with just that one performance. i guess it holds special meaning because for me it'll be my last proper concert with a band. i think i'll be relieved but sad after it. luckily there's the band camp to look forward to! :D

brain dead, excuse me for the choppiness and mechanical manner of this entry. shall go sch at 1120 tmr. i desperately need sleep.

e(ti)tude la!
(Tuesday, May 18, 2004 12:59 a.m.)

argh i'm damn stressed now! hucking fell wanna scream or do something extreme. damn it the way things are screwing up over each other like its damn fun. time is the essence, and there's only 2 more band prac before friday itself. today's full dress rehearsal does not look, feel, sound good, at all. its damn unpolished and Screwed. there are so many things to do they are piling up like the litter in dustbins in crowded areas. damnnnnnnn.

emcee script, slide presentation, the stupid solo all over again, my section's intonation and playing, stage band, human geog report, elbee essay, s paper tmr, band prac tmr, sectionals at 7 am, lost scores.. my god. and i have to go to school in another 5 hour's time and be expected to last till 9.

ok if you are reading this and not feeling an ounce of pity for this poor gal here, you should pinch yourself and tear up all the money and neoprints in ur wallet. if you are feeling pity for her though, take this as a plea for you to help. all you need to do is to msg me or tell me u need etude tickets. even 1 is good. 10 bux stall or for circle seats. less than 50% sold. its bad. i mean, why the hell are we working our asses off if there's no one to see it? tis fri, 7.30 at vch. see you there or i shall proclaim you to be a unfeeling bastard/bitch. yes, i'm that desperate.

TROY
(Saturday, May 15, 2004 12:23 a.m.)

i never knew guys in skirts looked so hot. caught Troy today wif beat, wing, layz and faith. damn it the show is good. haha 3.5/5 stars! full of eye candy.. yum yum bradd pitt, orlando bloom.. haha. *starts gushing* they have nice bodies.. and damn nice legs (and a shot of bradd's butt!) somehow the greek/troy warrior thingy they wear makes them look v.sexy. and the girls! all so pretty, with their long tresses, flowing robes and pretty facial bone structures. the bed scenes are all so sensual. haha i not perverted but i always like to see the strong arms of a guy around a girl in a loving embrace. evokes a good feeling. and the strapping of the armour. damn sexy! haha.

the gushing aside, the script/storyline wasn't really that good.. 2.5 hr filled with too many stops and goes, like a car unwilling to start. and the corny lines are deterring me from watching it again. i mean.. i think the scriptwriters are trying to be deep and stuff but some of the lines just sounds ridiculous, even if they are uttered by the great cast- "I think i'm the first man ever to kiss the hands of my enemy who killed my son." C'mon, did you just eat cheese fries or wat. i love this though haha "immortality! take it, its yours!" the soundtrack is quite impressive sometimes but it gets irritating when they keep playing the opera thingy when the slaughtering starts. haha great casting, yes. though most of the time i still think that bradd pitt looks like a monkey. and he keeps trying to act cool and stuff. hee hee.

throughout the show they kept mentioning the gods and fate, honour, history, respect, war, love.. shows how different times are today huh. but one thing has not changed. War is still as terrible. always feel interminably sad when i see the massacre.. LOTR too. the women and children suffer because men are foolish and willing to fight for the greed of a stranger. the fighting scenes are superbly shot though, especially the duel between hector and archilles. i love the way men fight with those swords and spears and shields. glad i caught the show. watched 50 First Dates sometime back with missy, faith and theresa too. haha another great show. yay. tired but determined to blog my rave review bout Troy here.

College Day tmr. argh. my first solo. i feel scared everytime i even think about it. Pls god, don't let me screw up.

starry tsar
(Tuesday, May 11, 2004 11:33 p.m.)

i'm drained, probably because these few days sucked. lethargy seems like a familiar companion, so shall it be. i guess the weather is one of the reason. these few days has been so humid i think we need a gigantic thirsty hippo to get rid of that sweat-inducing moisture in the still air. the sky is so clear though, everything stands out in perfect detail.

the stars looked especially mysterious after night prac. they hang on the velvet sky like the jewel on a woman's ear, winking this way and that. look carefully, and you can spot the star changing color. yes, actually vacillating between shades of blue, pink, yellow, green. my bro says that's cos light travels in spurts due to the distance, so if that bright dot in the sky does wink, they are not satellites. smart eh? i love it. i wish i can collect them like a rich woman collecting diamonds. to "own" them though, means living in isolation, or a land plunged into inky darkness at night. there must be a reason why stars have been studied since the start of time. i bet its cos the pple think they looked pretty :)

i love band pracs but the air ventilation needs to be improved. we are literally gasping for air after 7. no air con in the room at all and mr. ho has to play a vigorous piece that demands some serious sliding and blasts. grr.

mexican wine

i might as well blog since i've lost my voice. i sound damn husky(coconut head speaking!) and my voice has lowered like one octave. haha it doesn't really hurt though i need to use more air when i talk, so i can't be bothered.

went to school early to do the slide presentation thingy with yunqi. damn nice ah! haha ya really really. the pics are so nice, i'm impressed with our resourcefulness. can't wait for the concert! it'll be great.

supposed to go early and practise my solo a bit but in the end the computer thingy dragged a bit so i din even have time to warm up. Oh wells. College Day. Every teacher keeps on emphasising that it is the most important day for the school. Really?! *raised eyebrow*. its just a boring school function. there's like no hype at all.. it does seem quite trivial when you compare it to like AC's annual Funorama.

anyway was feeling damn sick throughout. and when i have the flu, i have sensitive ears. its true, don't ask me why. so my head was pounding away by the bombardment of irritating noises emitted by metal instruments. they are not even music, just a cacophony of squeaks, blasts and stray notes. oh and during the rehearsal, i managed to get the solo almost correct but what's the point, nobody can see the back row or hear us at all.

went out with wing after that whole lining-up-and-stoning-outside-the-hall thingy, with a toshiba laptop in tow. strolled the whole of bugis street with it. haha i'm surprised i'm still standing at the end of the day. it's quite heavy ya. ended up that i was the one buying stuff, though wing was the original shopper and i was just intending to accompany her. anyway i've decided that the current street fashion sucks. sue me, but black, hot pink, white, polka dots and ribbons are just so not suitable for everyone. i think only high-end fashion labels like Topshop are able to carry it off. the rest just looks tacky.

a joke to lighten your weekend? haha this is good.
Q: What did sushi A say to sushi B?
A: Wasabe!
lol.

she's tapping at the laptop in the dead of the night, oblivious to everything around her. being so absorbed in her thoughts, she hardly notices the faraway radio or the low murmur of her father and uncle coupled with the sickeningly cliche hokkien tunes. she coughs, a phlegm-coated short burst of breath from her tired lungs. alexis is sick, poor her. she stares at the cyan faerie dust on her right hand, fascinated by the intrinsic glitter. maybe she's a magpie in her previous life, being so naturally attracted to shiny stuff.

alexis likes to be able to catch the clock ticking. Seeing the 2nd hand or digital number jump seems to make time almost tangible and the passing of it more real.

She was looking for pictures for her concert presentation, and travelled the globe concurrently, visiting the shrines of japan, the plains of hungary and the fantasy world of harry potter. The photos are so vivid, so full of life she almost expected the geisha to turn back and smile. what is it like to travel? alexis would like that quite a bit, for sure.

she seems to be experiencing a personal renaissance, particularly over literature. she was so very interested in reading during her primary school years but that interest was suppressed like the crushing of a half-filled Paper of Knowledge during her secondary school years. Now, the paper is slowly retrieved and uncrumpled to reveal gaping holes of want. The want of good literature to fill up the page. She starts slowly though, she does not want to tear the fragile paper in her rush. Maybe this revival in interest is due to her taking lit S paper (you can go to the toilet to take some Ass Paper too.) The way the teachers explained the stuff revealed how wonderful that subject is. She's so glad she have the chance to do the paper because it had really broadened her horizon. She doesn't care how the paper's result will turn out, she just wants to learn more. More.
