its 8 days away from my next job on the 19th, that is, if i get through the interview that i'm going for later today with rux. shall savour these precious days of freedom before being locked up in a huge retail monster of a shopping centre, again.
went to celebrate ailin and sharon's bdae today, happy birthday ailin and sharon! haha me and beat went around far east and bought very exciting stuffs for them. very nice too, and the price was good. so we are all lucky :) after that the whole bunch of us stormed marche and ate our potatos/sausages/chicken. yummylicious, its been such a long while since i stepped into that cool concept of a marketplace restaurant. why ah? shall frequent it more next time. spending power has increased (even my hamster is eating better food. his tub of cereal-like delicious-looking feed costs me 1 and a half hrs of work!).
after that the 3 journeyed to the west again, leaving me to take 162 to thomson's famous Roti Prata House to meet my sis from the states and her fren. the prata kosong there is quite addictive i realised. stick to the normal ones like plain and egg and its nice. fanciful pratas are not really my cup of teh-tarik. anyway had a nice chat with them and we cabbed home. she's leaving tmr at 11am, so yeah, gonna miss her while she's gone again. quite sad that i din't manage to spend more time with her but its ok, there's always the internet.
smoking kills.
haha yeah so i went on the first day and according to my colleagues, looked super serious and dao. i pple always say i got dao first impression. anyway yeah but cos i was not sure about my surroundings mah so i looked a tad solemn. haha all that changed after we introduced ourselves and stood about the demo sets together. lol for some reason i became the Ipod Girl, Apple Girl, Ping Guo Mei, Alexis, Alexus.. various names which i responded to haha. feels good to be the only "expert" on ipods cos haha now at least i'm not the blur one. yeah and all i have to do is to talk bout the ipods. and sometimes promote the dock together of course.
i'm so sick of Norah Jones' Don't Know Why. you know why? cos they keep playing that on the dock cos apparently it "shows off the system". arghh. haha and i'm sick of Pearl Habour's bombing scene, the Eagles concert, micheal buble, LOTR elephant scene and some guy singing on tv. all to "show off the systems". i think too much norah jones can make pple mad. that's why me and silin went abit siao siao today haha.
yeah and the pple there real nice! i think over these few days i had lunch/dinner with everyone of them cept marcus i think. yeah there's silin and yanni, the 2 gers that i hang out with. yanni is a maly girl with cool hair and she's getting married in may! silin shares the same career ambition as me and has big eyes, looked like anita mui! then there's this guy, andy, who talks to me bout interesting stuff and accompanies me on the train till toa payoh. and this guy called adrian, who has long fluffy hair waxed up from his balding head (sorry so mean!) and he's very funny too. and this guy called marcus who has a philosophy degree from NUS but is working as a roadshow promoter. weird huh?
i guess going out into the Big Bad World has opened my eyes quite abit. i think now i'm more able to approach pple and tell them about stuff.. as well as assess a person by looking at their body lang and dressing etc.. haha made several observations too.
1: all guys are lechers. ok maybe generalisation, but seems like their fav. hobby is to check girls out! serious! they will like call to fellow wolves when a senorita pass by and then group together to bitch about their personal preferences and what they would like to do with that girl etc. haha adrian's "wham bang thank you mam" was funny. this is true also at the shaw rdshow, according to benson they have "mei-mei alerts". hahaha hilarious. i'm so amused just listening to them discuss. of course i'll offer my opinion too.
2: a surprising amount of pple smoke. i thought only 15% of singaporeans are smokers? but out of the pple at bose rdshow, about 4/6 smokes. wah one is 8 yrs somemore! so they have like smoking breaks etc and come back with a mint in the mouth. seriously, the breath from after smoking stinks really badly. oh well and i take my meals with them so after eating we go out and they smoke. i just stone.
anyway i'm really glad i'm unemployed. freedom! no more half hour breaks, loud speakers, shoppers, fake smiles.. gah. should be working as a taka promoter from the 19th jan to 7th feb again though. sigh. but, yep looking forward to the dinner with the gers tmr evening, celebrating their burfdaes! woohoo marche its time to give myself a treat. and tues there's NIE prac. yeah most prob i'll be playing for their charity concert (in aid of tsunami victims), 21st Jan, 7pm at VCH. Tix at 6. playing stuff like Phantom of Opera, Star Wars.. haha come come support!
yes and that robber who stole wing's stuff, you can just go and die! what the hell! bully my wing! don't let me find you or you will regret it man!
so all i can do is to blog about the usual stuff- Things I Did Today. went to meet rux at the amazing j8 (its like giving a 50 yr old auntie an Extreme Makeover). j8 is no longer the after-school old neighbourhoody hangout, its hip. orchard rd just distilled itself to become j8. it even has a mini apple centre. cool not?
i am terrible. give me money and i will spend. my money-flinging hands will continue to grab grab grab whatever whimsical fancy i adore. did however, manage to restrain myself from buying a skirt, but that was because an anorexic gal tried the same skirt on and i became disgusted. ah well there is always another time to find that perfect skirt.
short-lived shopping ended and travelled to somerset. nice to meet up again, went to heeren sakae ravenous. super amusing to hear jerry's groans of pleasure (ok this sounds wrong)- at having his food. haha yes. and the nua muaji-like mochi dessert is actually quite nice.
walked around to taka and i couldn't stop myself from buying again. argh and this caused my dearest zq to not get her much needed shoes! i feel damn bad. sorry sorry sorry! hope she gets a good pair at lot1 *crosses fingers*
ooh and i got a bluetooth device that can sync the com with the hp and transfer files between them. this is super exciting, i love technology.
however, not as much as i love my zq. and my wing darling. and my beat and sharon and everyone out there.
hahahaha no wonder pple wants to drive. eh, i noe how to cheat bus fare leh. you put 55 cents coins then tell uncle you retain if he demands a student pass from you. afterall you get to keep ur blue pass till july. heh.
anyway the 50bux is still not yet found. yes, its a case worthy of Missing on ch.5 man. anyway i gave up looking for it. my dad says it'll turn up when you are not looking for it. murphy's law or something.
went to collect pay today wif jm and benson. spent a portion of it immediately on a damn nice green soft leather handbag from forever 21 and a basic black vneck capped top. ah yes haha thanks jm for pei-ing me to buy the stuffs i just had to get that bag. darn i shd have gotten it during the 20 percent sale. now i got it at regular price instead :( but ok la its still worth it.
anyway i'm like the Roadshow Queen or something. haha i'm doing a similar ipod roadshow at PS for 4 days this time, starting this thurs. you know where to find me now. yes, a bit of work! income!
am currently reading Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux. (read the online book at bibliomania.com) vastly different from the movie/musical (they are only tangentially related) the book is an interesting version. much more complex, more dark but it adds more to the story. of all coincidences, played POTO at NIE band today too! went for their band prac despite misgivings about being extra.. got eileen and PK for company. anyway it was not so bad, it felt alright actually. and i'm super excited over playing a trombone once again! am very rusty, as stuck as the intrument trigger but still managed to play a few parts out. haha i'm now currently listening to the POTO OST. nice nice nice :) i love how the the different songs blend so well together to create a grand, tragic melody.
i'm reading the book, i'm playing the piece, i'm listening to the soundtrack. ahh.
ok nothing much. haha look at this its super funny (click on the "this")
the sun is finally shining after the afternoon shower, so its nice and cheery while the breeze remains cooling. i miss the sun- its been a while since it decides to show itself. ooh all the plants can take the chance to photosynthesize. haha.
definitely in a good mood after the past 2 days. why? primary cos i'm enjoying the feeling of not waking up at 6.30am to go sch blurred-eyed and corpse-like. i've been looking forward to it for so many years and finally it is here. wats more i get to gloat at my siblings, all obediently in school now. haha my sis is in AJC having her j1 orientation, my bro is in j2 starting his gruelling year and my youngest bro in sec 3, the year when things start to get serious. me? sitting at the computer after waking up leisurely at 2. haha!
so why, you ask, are my past 2 days shitty? well on the 1st of jan i decide to start off the year with a tidier room. however as year 2005 would have it, I lost 50 bux mysteriously and till now its not yet found. like what the.. my mum put the note on the table in the afternoon, i saw it b4 i went for lunch. after lunch, decide to start packing my desk and by then the note was gone. and since i nv see it then i forgot all about it. its only after everything was packed at night and i was staring at my desk in satisfaction when i suddenly realised there should be a 50 bux around somewhere. crap shit all hell broke loose and i searched high and low, combed everything from my dustbin to vacuum cleaner, to no avail. what a horrible day.
2nd jan- woke up still very mystified and puzzled by the disappearance of so big a note. it was pouring, bloody cold and i'm supposed to go for a kbox session with the class. stomach starts hurting and mood turns unpleasant, ended up holing at home. felt miserable for a while but things cleared up and watched yummylicious Brad Pitt on Ocean's 11. haha he is super super delicious. don't ask me why i use that adjective, i don't know either. it just suits him.
anyway i'm very much unemployed now. and i think i need to start thinking about getting my next job cos things at home are not that great, my parents don't grow money out of trees and i can't keep asking them for money. i'm becoming something of a spendthrift haha and i'm scared i'll bleed the family dry man. i spend about average of 25 bux everytime i go out. that's very scary if i go out everyday.
oh yeah, Lush 99.5fm is worth a tuning to. what i heard so far is quite agreeable and different from the usual- its more jazzy, salsa, latin, laidback and chill. more of That CD Shop kinda flava. whatelse. phantom of the opera soundtrack is great, its like listening to the entire movie again. and speaking of music, here's some of my fav songs:
Jesse Mccartney- Beautiful Soul
Ryan Cabrera- True
John Mayer- Daughters
Jem- Maybe I'm Amazed
Ashlee Simpson- La La
that's all folks! enjoy your stay in lovely, safe singapore!

so let me reflect on what this past year have been like. i know i am very lucky, because i'm blessed with such wonderful people that i've gotten to know in the past 2 years. i have band, the success of Etude, the pple inside that i'll never forget and the memories of the luxurious band room. 2005 sees the arrival of the juniors, who have proven themselves to be very capable of succeeding the legacy. always there, nicole, shunyu, PK, swee, eileen, shuhui, benson, marcus, victor, haobo, huifang.. the konglongs and zhutous forever unite!
then there was of course our class. we went through so much together, from lit marathons to dreary maths lessons. we went through the big As and came out battered but ready to face the future. i've grown to love our class peepz, hilarious, lame, eccentric, comical, caring, light-hearted. even though it is highly possible that we are not going to be meeting much, i'll still remember you guys. how can i forget the times we the pockymunchers trio had? beat and sharon will always be my best frens in sch. then there was maly layz ailin. i love those pple to bits, we went to the m'sia trip and everything and had so much together. special shoutout to WING! cos she's my darling :D
a01 will never be the same without the guys. a fine mix of comical, eccentric, serious, lame, ernest pple, i've really gotten to know and appreciate them in class this year. there was the fab, daniel, jerry, robbin, junlin combo, very lethal and guaranteed Laughter. damn these guys are good. hahaha. zhengyu! hahah i think he's damn cool man.
then there was the hist gals like faith, xiu, jo, siimaan, sam, biquan who are such lovely pple. even though we are less familar with each other, we will definitely remember each other. esp faith for her generousity, xiu for her stef sun singing, jo for her appetite, siimaan for her appropriate comments, sam for her uniqueness and biquan for her crappy-lame ricola personality.
of course not missing out the Study Gang, members consisting of Jerry, ZQ, and Phil haha you guys have no idea how studying for A levels was made much more bearable cos of your company. i know we will continue to meet up and go for movies, dinners and outings. right? :) there's Geri aka jerry who is damn funny and O-so-pretty. that guy rox and he knows it :) and of course, i've gotten to know zq so much more tis year and i'm glad. i love that cranky, attitude and real zq. hear that? haha yes yes everything about you is funky!
then of course there was R.A.W., standing for Rux Alex Wen, ala S.H.E style. heh cool right. these peepz will always be my dearest girlfriends. spent the new year with them, watching Meet the Fockers (there was a giggle in the cinema everytime the cast says that word). Gaylord Martha Focker is super bad. hahaha. watched till 11.45pm before going out of lido to get sprayed by foam for new year on orchard road. an experience that could be missed.
went to yulin's house after that around 1 plus. hanged out with the atsb gang in the afternoon before catching the movie, then rejoined them. a night of mahjong, cards, and just company with people that i've spent more than a decade with. pple like cy, benson, jm, yulin, ruth, yh, ql. i know we will still be around after another decade. no doubt.
ok this is starting to feel like a mini testimonial writing for friendster. to sum it up, i've learnt so much in the past year and made so many firm friends. everyone please invite me to your weddings ya. or company launch. or karaoke. or whatever. haha yes i'll be glad to attend and offer you a toast. Cheers to all!
A list of new yr resolutions:
be happy about my a-level results no matter what they are cos i've tried my best.
learn something exciting like another language or cooking etc
manage my finances well.
get a job that i like
stay in contact with my friends and be there for them still
do silly stuffs that i'll laugh at when i look back :)
that's it. and if you are reading this, know that i know you are reading and i love you too. (aww!) for that and this and then and there.
