got an optic mouse! haha yay. oh, todae alexis very very blur. she nv go for the 2 hr measure for measure lit. lecture at 9.30(cos she din noe 1st intakers are included). she happily tot that there's just econs lec at 11.30 so when beatrice msged "where the hell are you?" at 10.20 she got the shock of her life, but it was too late to do anything, so she just rushed to school. just her luck, it rained heavily the moment she got off the bus, so she was stuck at the bus stop for 10 mins, before she walked into the sun and drizzle.
all in all, bad start of the day for alexis.
but things can't possibly get worse, so it turned better later. geog was one boring thing. but, never fear, cos there's band! yay. todae ying ci was not there, so alexis had to cover all his solos and stuff. >.< she realized that her tone sux compared to his. he made all the solos sound so ez..but when u try it urself, u find it very much challenging. Oh wellz, she shall try and improve!
oh, and her tentative post for band exco is librarian, together with swee yan. its more or less confirmed.. though she dun look like one at all! Haha! and, she completed all levels for the little man game! hee she's proud of that achievement. she wants to watch Finding Nemo! So many pple had rave reviews for it. no time no time! bowling for columbine, bruce almighty, ju on! all 4 she wan! argh...

had lessons todae. was totally confused over the lit lesson on Measure for Measure. stupid horny play. went to visit peihua at her workplace at Thomson Plaza afterwards. got myself 7 nail-ful of nail stickers! v.v.nice! haha. yeah, that's about it. tmr there's econs lec and p.geog(again!). and band! yay. i wan band. band. band rox!

she bought a new wallet today! it had pink stripes, came from Livia, and alexis loves it! Yay. She went to sch today for geog lesson at 8. When it ended she went to Wisma's Mac with beat and sharon for some good ol' breakfast. Egg with grape jam is nice k. Then they headed to far east to take neoprint. Hahaha. It was super funny. They did not realize the machine displays them laterally inverted, and the machine snaps shots with such a short delay, they did not have time to do anything except to smile foolishly at the screen. In the end, there's this shot with Alexis in mid-action, with yes, her mouth half open. She was saying something about moving to the center when the shot was taken! Damn farny. The three of them collasped laughing at the neoprints with decorated hearts all over, off-center, and had words such as "Pocky Munchers" on it.
after that interesting episode, alexis wickedly brough sharon and beat to Anatolia for some turkish ice-cream! LOL. the look on sharon's face is priceless. Was laughing so hard at the turkish man's antics with sharon and the elusive ice-cream. Hahahaha. went to Lips after for sharon's shorts. the shop assistant's an amiable gurl.
then they went around finding the perfect present sharon wanted. Donald Duck! How is that possible? Haha. alexis' sectionals was cancelled in the nick of time, before she boarded the bus back to nj, from far east. Phew. and its sale sale sale everywhere! she is determined to get her hands on a few bargains by the end of this june hols. that's her goal(instead for studying for common tests, heh).
the night breeze is so nice. =D she loves stars, but read somewhere that in urban cities, u can't see but a few dozen of em due to light pollution..how she wish to be able to see a whole sky of stars, for can u imagine, she had nv seen that before!

alexis got into band exco! for some reason only the cosmic stars know, she managed to get into the 8-person committee out of the 19 nominees, together with sweeyan, benson, nicole, shuhui, rhoda, PK and haobo. She went to sch in the unearthly hour of 7.45 to take the chinese compo common test, then she breakfasted with ailin at adam food centre before going home to slack for an hour. She then travelled to nj again for the banner committee meeting. They came up with a few more interesting designs after brainstorming/stoning at the band room. Following that, selected instruments went to the Atrium to play for the IP launch. They played Stand by Me, but there's hardly any audience.
Next up is elections. Alexis and the rest of the nominees went in the band room, acknowledged the pple inside, and was given slips of paper to vote. then they were led out while they counted the votes. They stoned around the Oasis, before finally being called into the band room. The first thing Alexis saw on the whiteboard was her name, being the name starting with A. She was quite shocked. She did not expect her name to be there! She walked in a daze to the seat, her brain trying to digest this fact.
she don't know what to run for! BM, secretary, treasurer, librarians, quartermasters and welfare officer. Everyone started asking her wat she want to run for, but she did not have an answer. She decided to take on whatever post that is left over, but she can't count money, and can't be QM(guys are supposed to be QMs).
onward to TJC Band Concert! She and some of the band pple took a very long and hungry bus journey all the way from Bukit Timah to Bedok. When they got down, alexis met cheryl! She misses her so much, and she's super duper ultra mega happy that she met her again. =D then the band went around the crowded bedok central that looks exactly like the bigger version of AMK central. Ate BK, then took bus 229 to TJC. it was very crowded on the bus, and there's a mad man on board that keeps cursing in foul language. Poor benson was just beside him. The moment they got off, they were met with a sudden rain that made them run helter-skelter for shelter. Hahah. TJC is quite nice. At least there's the absence of the thousand flights of stairs that NJ have, and the toilet they went to was squeaky clean.
the concert gets a 7/10 rating in alexis' opinion. Bad points: The chairs are very uncomfortable, they did not start on time(20mins late), some of the songs are too heavy(repetoire arr.) and only the last row of the band is on stage. That means pple at the back can only see them. Wats the use of coming for a concert when u can only see 1/4 of the band? Good points: the stage band/skit was absolutely entertaining and funny. On which part of your body can you find Mickey Mouse? Ans: dis knee. *LOL* alexis lurves corny jokes like that. the 2nd half of the concert is better, having japanese graffitt 7, animation medley, copacobana and over the rainbow. She lurves all those songs! and memories flooded her when the band played the hokkien vol.1 or 2 song arr by naohiro iwai. snsb's fav. song!
she reached home at around 11.30. Saw alot of pple that day. Cheryl, yiting, debbie, felicia, jessica, and some sec4s now in snsb. She misses snsb suddenly. sigh. It was a worthwhile concert all in all. value for money! She luves going to concerts- they were more entertaining and interesting than going to the movies in her opinion. you get to see loads of pple, hear the live music, criticise the music and generally have fun, esp during the interval.
she realises its a long post. Well, the holidays are here! *celebrates* she's going shopping on Monday! *happiness!*

i have ten minutes before going to guzheng lessons. Shall add a quick blog here. Not in third person though. Hahaha. Occasionally shall revert back. Today is the last day of school, officially! That calls for some celebration. I can't believe half a year has passed. it only seemed like yesterday when i went to nj for orientation.
spent the last half hour of GP having breakfast in the canteen with Ms. Chong! rOx. its ms chong's sort-of last lesson with us, not counting the tutorial during the hols. Feel quite sad that she's going to be gone soon... miss her and the fun times we had together with ao1 v.1. There's gonna be a AO1 v.1 gathering in the june hols i think. =D yay!
received a cylindrical metal pencil case from ms. chong for topping the class in the 1st GP test. I was pleasantly surprised when she told me. Oh, and mr. barber gave us lollipops during Geog. lesson today! Hahah i'm going to think of it as his way of making up for forcing us stay back for his lesson at 3 when the 2nd last lesson ends at 12.20.
chinese compo test from 7.45 to 9.30, slack from 9.30 to 1, meeting for banner committee at 1, have to be ready for the Integrated Program Launch performance at 2, band exco elections start from 3 to 5 and the TJC band concert at 7.30. Wow. I'm amazed. 5 different events on the same day. There goes my whole Saturday.
haha but i dun mind, since there's gonna be lots of time set aside for SHOPPING soon! yeah the singapore sale! and i wanna watch Finding Nemo. So cute! hahaha. yeah.. oh, its 5 already. time to go, ciao!

argh the weather is so hot again! alexis can't stand hot weather, it makes her irritable and sleepy. It was 34 deg.celcius today, and an notable event caught her attention. There was a bush fire in some area of Singapore the size of two football fields. Alexis had never heard of bush fires in singapore before, so she is quite amused.
it is windy now, and she feels like sleeping, again. She officially declare Sleeping as her no.1 hobby, and she read somewhere that humans are supposed to spend 1/3 of their lives sleeping. :| alexis probably spends 2/3 of her life thinking of sleeping, and 1/4 of it actually doing it.
alexis' hair is really getting very very brown, and she doesn't even swim! She thinks that she's going to be a blonde soon at the rate her hair is browning. Stress? Genes? Both. Hahaha. she ate Rum and Raisins, Mango Alfronso ice-cream today again at Venezia! And she lurves the beef pie there too!

alexis waves hi to all! she is back to her bouncy hyper self~! hahaha she thinks its the Mentos Vanilla Coke that did the job. She bought a bottle of vanilla coke during lunch today, when ailin told her this interesting fact: dropping a mentos into any carbonated drink will make the drink flat after a while. Apparently, the mentos will have a reaction, and start bubbling and dissolving in the drink like some vitamin C tablet. Being an inquisitive brat, Alexis decided to try out this "experiment", since she prefers carbonated water uncarbonated. Fizz~! Alexis' eyes widen at the sight of the mint flavoured sweet dissolving right before her very eyes. Rapt attention was paid to the bottle. She took a few mouthfuls of rice while waiting for the reaction to be complete. Then, she shakes the bottle, and voila~! Not a single bubble!
hahaa alexis and her friends all thinks that alexis is mad. well, she is happily mad, so that's not too bad. she started going crazy right after chinese, having imbibed the whole 390 ml of mint vanilla coke during the dreary mother tongue lesson. oh, and alexis discovered that the mentos will turn rock hard after the reaction, before it dissolves completely. She urges everyone to try it!
this sat is going to be a busy one again for alexis. She has chinese compo exam from 7.45 to 9.30am, she's going for the TJC band concert at 7.30pm, and there's still the band exco election in the afternoon.
school still sarx. The Ultimate Siansation! but the worst days of the week is over for alexis, thank goodness. She looks forward to life again after 5 pm on Tuesday. Oh, and she is appointed together with shini to be the heads of the banner committee of the Etude XXVIII concert. Details again: 1 August, 7pm, VCH, $8(stalls), $10(circles). Sounds good? Get the tix from alexis, while tix lasts!

in the end, everything turned out fine. Alexis is such a worrywart. haha. its a nice sunny sunday for her, and she is currently feeling very slack and refuses to think about any homework that she has. One more week followed by another week of remedials/tutorials for her before the holidays start.
now, about yesterday. she did not have a good night's sleep, and woke up around 7 to msg pple. then she met up with yong kwang, who's also in deco com. at j8 to get the flowers. she had to miss the stage band practice because of that, and it made her very sad. however, they managed to get very nice roses at a very reasonable price from the flower wholesaler at thomson road. 60 cents for a stalk of dethorned and pretty champagne or pink/orange rose! Coming back to school, alexis had her lunch. Then there was a short 2.5 hr band practice. She enjoyed that. The american in paris is turning out fine! Then they were all given three hours to prepare their various things. She and her comm. blew up the balloons, tied them up, and set up the tables and chairs in the amphitheatre. the whole arrangement looks very pretty, with a long row of 5 tables with tealight on them.
she was famished by 5, the time the celebration/victory party is supposed to start. However, it was games first. the games were very very fun, although there were a lot of absentees. they are split into four groups. first up, two groups have to compete against each other in the Bite-the-apple contest. 2 apples were strung on the basketball hoop pole. Then, with the help of the group members, two of them have to go and bite the apples. alexis was the one being raised up, being the tallest. it was scary. she can't really describe it. imagine being hoisted up from the legs to take an air-bite out of the huge hanging apple. hahaha. she mananged to hang on to the beam with her arms. she landed sharply on one of her feet when she had to go down. all 51 kg of weight on a single ankle. ouch.
next, the group had to stand on a square canvas sheet and flip the whole sheet around without leaving the sheet. alexis' group won easily. it helps to have clever pple in her group(not her though). then the next game was to catch balled up newspapers with a cloth as the "basket" while standing on soapy canvas. Not very slippery but her group lost to the other, and a major factor is because the gamemaster kept throwing the balls to the left side.
and the most fun game of all is...Captain's (Water)ball! hahaha. she lurved the game. Instead of having a netball or basketball, the teams have to pass a plastic bag filled with water around. She got thoroughly wet. It was really very exciting and definitely adds a wet twist to the usual ball game. Try catching the ball when it was being thrown up in the air and get yourself drenched. the opposing team will usually try to burst the "bag" instead of snatching it. Wooooohoooo~ alexis loves the game!
next up was the dinner. they lighted up all the tealights, but the flames kept getting snuffed out by the wind. In the end, they gave up. it was very dark then, and since there are no lights in the ampitheatre, everybody can't see what they are eating. There was a 5kg blueberry cake that costs $145. it was large. And very delicious! gastronomical. YUm. alexis drools at the thought of the cake. the rest of the food was ok, but not very nice, since they are all cold.
distributed the roses, played with the sparklers. generally had good ol' fun. she's very tired though. she did not have a moment of rest ever since the day began and was glad when everything was over.
she is quite sick of talking in 3rd person. she wonders if she can talk in 4th person? hahaha.

and then there are times when alexis can go real down, like right now. she don't know why too. mood swing-a-ling. like it might have something to do with tmr, since there's a lot of things happening simulataneously at the same time, and it is giving her stress. she is in the deco committee of the celebration party, and she is supposed to get flowers and arrange all the decorations, but there is simply not enough time to manage everything. she also wants to attend the maths remedial for GP and summation cos she can't do them at all. she got a 7/40 for her maths test on that few topics. she is also going to miss the sec. 4faith gathering at sentosa due to band.
she is also very unhappy as she wants to buy a better guzheng but her parents refused to. the one she has is old and very inferior. she just feel that she can play better if only she can hear what she is playing clearly, as she needs to hear all the resonance to get the correct sound. she knows that it is quite impossible to get the good guzheng- she'll have to stick with the old one. alexis will try and bear with it.
she finally have the complete recording of NJC's SYF rendition of Vesuvius. it is so unbelievable, that njcsb actually produced that. sure there's audible flaws, but overall it was fantastic. she wonders if they are able to get back to that standard for the finals. An American in Paris is also in her mp3 player. That's the 2nd finals piece. very fun song, alexis says!
she feels so so tired. her muscles are still aching, her bones feel disjointed and her eyes strains to look at the screen. all she want to do now is to sleep till her next birthday. oh, and speaking of birthdays, alexis would like to wish Junlin a Happy Birthday. The a01 class celebrated the bdaes of the may babies today and had a chocolate cake. it was very very fun. brings back memories of the old a01 class. poor junlin. the class went around to ask all the teachers to scold him as a joke, so the whole day he was being reprimanded by all the teachers. the look on his face when we told him the truth was priceless. hahah it sure is a memorable birthday for him!
haha alexis still laughs when she thinks about today's incident when she and beatrice were walking down the steps of the overhead bridge outside nj. beat nearly tripped, and just right in front of her there was this typical grandmotherly ah-ma who was innocently trying to climb the stairs. so i said, "see chiobu is it?" (referring to that ahma) when they got past her. Hahahaha they were laughing so hard. oh yar, alexis cheong's elvish name is Nátulcien Minyatur. hee.
oh well.. she's listening to jay now. melacholy, child of error. ah, lit class.

alexis feels happy. she don't know why, but she just have this warm glowy feeling that surfaces at irrational times. =D although school still sucks, but she does have fun during lessons with the crazy a01 bunch. its the information part of lessons that she dislikes. otherwise its just fine. she thinks that it is just like running the 2.4 km. u feel crappy when running, yet it will be over very shortly, and after that you get to experience a sense of satisfaction and the aching legs means your muscles are used and toned, which is like how u can gain a lot from school.
little joys, such as eating red longan jelly with evaporated milk during lunch with alexis' two best friends, laughing at junlin's lameness during maths and having fun during band is enough to make her content. the days pass by like the twinkling of a sleepy eye. oh, and an interesting thing happened today. Alexis' classmates seemed to think that she resembles Eunice Olsen. she thinks that it's so funny and wierd. its the first time pple say she resembles that wheel of fortune girl.
alexis is also starting to realise something. it dawned slowly, but surely on her. she feels that when she goes to work next time, its gonna be something that is totally unrelated to the subjects she studies now. she wants to do her thing and so not need to work everyday, but to enjoy what she does most every second. that makes her wonder why is she mugging like the rest of the 1200 students in Enjaycee. but still...
