went a la carte wif rux todae.. travelled long and far in our quest for the best item worth our dough. there's so many pretty pieces of clothing in this world however, with matching incredible price tags, all we could do was to sigh and walk away, the thought lingering but fading with every step. taka, wisma, far east, heeren. yep all the places worth the walk.

feeling kinda queasy bout my new hair cut. haha but with the right attitude anything will look good man! (self-consolation). uh huh. still hovering on the edge of whether to just get it super layered till i can spike. heh heh that's uber cool ya!

my blog's kinda un-creative, don't you think? my poems and prose are like so crappy when i see other pple's imagery/metaphorically filled posts. my inspirations regarding random stuff always comes when i am doing something else totally, but when i sit in front of the cathode ray tube my mind's a blank. out flew the stuff i've been burning to express, out drains the point i've been wanting to make. oh well nevermind. dear reader- excuse me for my bland rantings.

"I've already gave my best and i have no regrets at all."

:: mind her mind ::

the brilliance of her knife dulled
its blade rusty from old age.
it used to be sharp, chop
slice and nice.
why is it then that it must be so
that she now talks to herself.
remembers the past of yester year
yet things one minute ago she
grasped like spidery webs, faint but
not there. linking her by a thread to now.

:: god is a DJ ::

happy holidays! ah slacking slacker doing just that happily at home. so many nice tv programmes! diva concert rocking my tv now, after the 12 girls band miracle concert(the guzheng is sadly under featured, in my opinion.) you could get so much out of music. love the pink lyrics:

If God is a DJ
Life is a dance floor
Love is the rhythm
You are the music
yeah.. celine dion crooning effortlessly on tv. hm nothing much, had quite a good time last night yeh. but guessed it'll be quite some time before i go again cos as rux reminded me, the As are this yr. i'm like "oh yar." talk about exams being irritating. ooh bought like 3 tops at future state ytd! oh my the sale was incredible. if my purse strings were looser i could have easily snapped up another 3 tops. i wanna go back there~!

shall do some work today. maybe finish reading Lord of the Flies too, and get started on The Great Gatsby. i din read Hamlet for s paper.. err guess i should. haha.

away to winged heaven.
shits of precipitation making us blue

:: The Physics of Santa and His Reindeer ::

No known species of reindeer can fly. BUT there are 300,000 species of living organisms yet to be classified, and while most of these are insects and germs, this does not COMPLETELY rule out flying reindeer which only Santa has ever seen.

There are two billion children (persons under 18) in the world. BUT since Santa doesn't appear to handle the Muslim, Hindu, Jewish and Buddhist children, that reduces the workload to 15% of the total - 378 million according to Population Reference Bureau. At an average (census) rate of 3.5 children per household, that's 91.8 million homes. One presumes there's at least one good child in each.

Santa has 31 hours of Christmas to work with, thanks to the different time zones and the rotation of the earth, assuming he travels east to west (which seems logical). This works out to 822.6 visits per second.

This is to say that for each Christian household with good children, Santa has 1/1000th of a second to park, hop out of the sleigh, jump down the chimney, fill the stockings, distribute the remaining presents under the tree, eat whatever snacks have been left, get back up the chimney, get back into the sleigh and move on to the next house. Assuming that each of these 91.8 million stops are evenly distributed around the earth(which, of course, we know to be false but for the purposes of our calculations we will accept), we are now talking about .78 miles per household, a total trip of 75? million miles, not counting stops to do what most of us must do at least once every 31 hours, plus feeding and etc.

This means that Santa's sleigh is moving at 650 miles per second, 3,000 times the speed of sound. For purposes of comparison, the fastest man-made vehicle on earth, the Ulysses space probe, moves at a poky 27.4 miles per second - a conventional reindeer can run, tops, 15 miles per hour.

The payload on the sleigh adds another interesting element. Assuming that each child gets nothing more than a medium-sized lego set(two pounds), the sleigh is carrying 321,300 tons, not counting Santa, who is invariably described as overweight. On land, conventional reindeer can pull no more than 300 pounds. Even granting that "flying reindeer" (see above) could pull TEN TIMES the normal amount, we cannot do the job with eight, or even nine. We need 214,200 reindeer. This increases the payload (not even counting the weight of the sleigh) - to 353,430 tons. Again, for comparison - this is four times the weight of the Queen Elizabeth. 353,000 tons traveling at 650 miles per second creates enormous air resistance - this will heat the reindeer up in the same fashion as spacecraft re- entering the earth's atmosphere. The lead pair of reindeer will absorb 14.3 QUINTILLION joules of energy. Per second. Each.

In short, they will burst into flame almost instantaneously, exposing the reindeer behind them, and create deafening sonic booms in their wake. The entire reindeer team will be vaporized within 4.26 thousandths of a second. Santa, meanwhile, will be subjected to centrifugal forces 17,500.06 times greater than gravity. A 250-pound Santa (which seems ludicrously slim) would be pinned to the back of his sleigh by 4,315,015 pounds of force.

In conclusion: If Santa ever DID deliver presents on Christmas Eve, he's dead now.

a person can never really hate until she experienced love, for she is incapable of hating someone when she does not have love to compare it to. it is the question of the chicken and egg. i can't remember hating anybody and this is because i have never experienced the other end of the spectrum.

cho
You're chocolate. You're the old soul type, people feel that they have known you their entire life. Many often open up to you for they view you as thoughtful and trustworthy. Although people trust you, you have a hard time trusting them. You prefer to keep your feelings bottled up inside, or display them very quietly. It isalright to open up every once in a while.

:: pierced lobe ::

ah ha! another design in three days! serendipity struck as i chanced upon this funky layout, just in time to welcome the new year! i was just reading about paul frank and his julius monkey on today's Life! papers. spent a lazy sunday, just to recharge for the following week, which i forsee is gonna be a hectic one. haha i din have any homework though, maybe except for econs. oh and did i mention that i just had a 3.5 hr tuition on fri for my first maths tuition? man my brain was so seriously overworked. i cleared all my hw though and understood most of them so its quite a good deal. watched the extended vcd version of LOTR2. haha LOTR still rox man. din wanna go town.. the weather is so nice for juz stoning at home man.

by right i should be obediently in bed now. ah but i slept just now from 6 to 9, hence the insomnia now. alright alright, i better go and try sleeping. nitez world!

:: busy ::

there you go, a lighter and more refreshing template for january. couldn't be bothered to design templates nowadays, just took 'em off the net. i got a concept already though, but i need to find the right pictures. i like this cos its so petite and dreamy and yeah, everyone noes that skoolsux anywae..

had a v.busy day today. band orientation in the morning was quite fun and memorable. i think the yr1s rock! ya then stayed around before going to toa payoh's sizzler for band exco dinner. din go for the OGL outing in the end :( the sizzler was good. i mean, the food was gastronomical. haha there's so much of everything and we still get to make our own sundaes. missed the lively seniors much.

after the long dinner some of us went to chinatown. my god its so crowded, you just see black heads bobbing on every inch of the street. you have vendors extolling in the top of their voices the virtues of this product and that, drinks sellers attracting people with calls of refreshment amid CNY tunes as well as the hanging waxed sausages and shiny plastic ornaments. makes me feel like CNY-ish. haha that's the spirit man. there's something about CNY that no other festival can replace, not even xmas.

i haven done my CNY shopping yet. haha mebbe tmr will be a good time to purchase the skirt i'm eyeing on a for long time ^_^
