Its All About You
feeling very cold now, the weather nowadays is so cool. anyway thanks to rux and wen for the treat at Breeks ytd, so sorry i couldn't finish my delicious beef lasagne cos my appetite wasn't that great. rushed home to watch another great episode of Desperate Housewives, i'm addicted! drama has never looked so good, with the premier of season 2 of The O.C. returning last thurs, sending me into hyperventilation. haha i love love love OC man. d/ling episode 2 on limewire now cos i can't wait until thurs. but sometimes the wait is worth it..
meeting the nj band peepz tmr for iceskating. i hope i don't fall on my butt. then meeting my darling for dinner, yay! haha. thurs is farewell gathering with jerry b4 he goes into NS and fri is NIE band prac. busy busy.
but i plan to look for a job soon. like after fri i'll get my ass down and seriously look. i want to try my hand at waitressing, hopefully at a cool restaurant. the slacking's got to stop, i need money for my trip and i need to work. yeah.
i had a weird dream last night. it felt so real that when i woke up i was crying. i can't remember most of it but it had to do with me fighting something while everyone looked on and nobody helped me :(

The Birthday Tale
wow its been a while since i've blogged and many things happened these few days man. haha i just got home btw, happening sia!
oh yes, a shout out to everyone who wished me a happy birthday (in chrono order)-
smses: beat, chun'en, minghui, sher, veron, jm, zq, mcdonalds (!!), liwei, wing, jianxiang, wen, benson, qilin, shunyu, yh, toon, joshua.
online: zhiyang, rhoda, eileen and ah 9 :)
in person: ailin, beat, faith, xiuwen, biquan, fab, jerry, daniel
presents: ailin, beat, faith, xiuwen, wenli+jm+benson, lili
oh and to the junior from o4a01, erm, yes, mr barber's notes are sufficient because they r to the point. as typical singaporeans we worry that he's giving us too little too but sometimes, less is more. when you have so much notes u have to sift thru the shit all over again it wastes even more time. as long as u guys concentrate in class to what he says and do ur homework.. gd luck.
right so many things happened, let me start from the day when i got home from bishan park at 10am (see previous post). the puppies wl brought along were super hyperactive and cute and they gamboled around like hares in a field. we walked them and fed the mosquitoes and talked.. which means we didn't jog. haha but walking is good for health too. the bak gut teh was not that nice actually its been a long time since i went back. a bit too ex at 5bux too when its only clear soup with a few pieces of spareribs. but for a light breakfast it sufficed.
so i came home at 10am and slept till 3pm when rux and wen came over to dye our hair. haha we had fun with all the dyeing.. but we are not profesionals so the result was quite.. DIY. i'm considering re-dyeing my hair again. but aiyoh dye so many times can die eh. after that around 6 plus went to NIE for band prac, with a lift there from chris with his spanking new car. reached home at 12 plus after a supper at s11 amk, and i was online till 5am that night.
woke up at 12 plus to meet the gang for kbox! yeah kbox rox esp in the later part when fabian joined us cos he sang all weird and we laughed until CMI. very funny. initially it was me, beat, ailin, faith + yitch, xiu and jerry. then jerry left and biquan came. then she left and fabian came. haha then we went to the PS foodcourt but the indonesian rice had a long queue so we ate other stuff. then daniel came along. then we all talked there for quite sometime and faith spilled a drink and we got an auntie to help us wipe it cos it was spreading dangerously on the table. the auntie came and she was like "shang4 shang4!" (meaning "up! up!" referring to our food). quite hilarious. then she flirted with fab cos he said something like "bu yong shang" (no need to up!) and she replied "you naughty boy, shang! is good!" hahahah.
after that we stood around to decide where to go next after beat and faith left and we decided to go MS cos there's tis party happening at moloko. very happening, seeing so many nj peeps again. haha.
if you ask me what's the first thing i did on my 19th birthday, i'll tell you..
i got f*cking drunk.
yup. ok the story is like this. we got there around 11 plus, got in about 11.55, and we got our free drink. i had vodka sprite. then jerry da man opened a bottle wif his friends and gave 2 glasses to fab n dan, and i took a few sips from it. very strong stuff. then daniel tried to order some drinks and i was already quite high so i shouted to the barman that its my birthday! and guess what he did? he asked me to tilt my head back on the bar top and he went to stand on top of it and started pouring alcohol straight into my mouth with the whole pub cheering on. hahaha i'll nv forget that. it was a lot of alcohol, felt a burning sensation. then after a while dan ordered tequila shots and this time 4 of us repeated the same "tilt ya head back" thing on the bartop and got our shots. too much man.
and the rest is history..
i got progressively higher and more gone and in like 10 mins i couldn't walk straight. haha at first it was fun.. everything was in a haze and i couldn't care less and they carried me outside to sit at a lounge chair, where i stayed for most of the time, dead. but loads of things happened inside eh ;) yeah and i puked until i was heaving i felt so sick i just wanna die or something. DEFINITELY NOT nice.
but the people around me were extremely nice to me when i got drunk so it was alright, nothing happened to me. haha. all thanks to my guardians fab and dan. and xiu and jerry, though all of them are also quite gone. i'm glad i got drunk with them cos i have been with others they might not be as nice. so around 3 plus we cabbed home and dan sent me up. at least i can remember my address. and i did not puke on the cab. that's a great achievement.
so i got home and washed up and just slept thru the night till about 8am, when i woke up with the mother of all headaches. it was really bad, the throbbing. plus i was still feeling nauseous. but i continued to sleep till about 12 plus when the headache went away. the nausea still remained, so after eating a bite of pizza bread (i was hungry but i dun dare to eat cos i'm scared i'll upchuck it) i went back to sleep again, till about 4. felt about 90percent fine.
met up with zq in town for dinner which we had in nydc. it was great catching up with her again, and thanks zq for spending time with me and thanks for the nydc treat ;) her bling bling very bling hehe.
after dinner i met up with jm, benson, wenli and louis for some chilling at acid bar, where they ordered merlot. so i had a glass even though i decided to not touch alcohol for sometime. it was not bad though, mild and quite nice. thanks so much for the skirt ya! and guess what. when we were there they were playing soccer on the screen and the ambience wasn't really nice so i suggested going somewhere else. then wenli told me that she ordered a jug, and wants 15 mins to finish it. and i believed her!
cos the next thing i know, the waitress came up to our table with a cake with 19 candles. i was pleasantly surprised, i nv saw that coming. thanks so much guys, my last surprise cake was like during pri6. and the blueberry was delicious.
so we left around 11 plus to go to wenli's house to chat and we played cards, asshole daidee. haha wenli was so amused with the game. very fun. and her ah boi is obedient and cute! haha. yeah and we cabbed home at 3am.
The End. long story, whew. maybe i should have written it in installments but i can't hold it all inside, i need to write it down. if you have skipped the entire middle part, and is reading tis instead, 1 conclusion - i had the most happening birthday in my life. that is, until my 21st birthday. haha!

sing to the dawn
look at the time of the entry! yes, i'm still awake. this gotta stop soon, i'm turning topsy turvy. hmm maybe i can go one cycle and get to normal sleep soon. playing yahoo pool now to while away the time cos i'm meeting wenli at bishan park (its time i utilise tis park facility since its just outside my house) to go jogging and exercising and walking her dogs, after which we are going to enjoy a sumptuous breakfast of the famous bak gut teh at the foodcentre near the amk swimming pool.
long day ahead. oh and Happy April's Fool! and its my bdae in 2 days! that's not a joke ok. cheers!

sing swing sing
to think that pitas is actually one of the first few blogging systems around! it started in july 99, only 2nd to blogger (august 99).
anyway i'm suffering from blogger's block after all that huge chunk of prose. eergh.
oh oh but not before i give rave review of Swing Girls! catch it at cine before its gone, ok? 4/5 stars. the film's by the same director who made Water Boys. its a classic story of a bunch of girls who picked up jazz and eventually became very successful, after a lot of obstacles yada yada.. but the music is really good, and slapstick humour too. go see this for a swinging good time!

rhythms of a day
step out of the house at the break of dawn and the air is refreshing and cool. there is a tinge of hope as the new day begins and invigorated, you will feel as if the possibilities are endless. the day seemed to awaken from its resposeful night and the atmosphere is gently electrifying, sending little shivers of anticipation and positivity into your soul. the sky is barely bright, but the birds are already chit-chattering in their usual morning routine while the world slowly wakes up with a smile on its face.
then morning proper as it is descended in the form of a busy hustle, the light glow of the sun bathing the city in a clear view and mild breeze. coffee is brewed and the roads start to fill up with glittering cars, reflecting this way and that like scales of a fish on a winding spine.
then afternoon edges close, the morning bowing past the bright, hot lunch hour as people busied themselves with their little concerns. it is a time for plans to be made, for activities to gear up and for things to be done.
that said and done, late afternoon approaches. by then we are fatigued by our labours and the drive has died down, so we go for tea and leisurely activities. time seemed to stretch endlessly in the four-ish, five-ish pm in the tepid, sleepy day.
from then, it slowly gains speed and hurtles inevitably to dusk, so that the day is already over before you know it. as dusk gathers like the drawing of orange curtains, home is in the minds of everybody. from the scores of birds hovering about the dense foliage to the expressway, it is natural to want to go back to a place of rest and relaxation after a day's work. the sunset embraced the world and gave it a rosy hug, as if for a last, glorious spurt of effort at brightening the world while an indescribable smell of a hundred delicacies along the corridors of HDBs waft by in their distinct evening routine.
with the sun sliding past the horizon comes night. the early night comprised of dinners and tv and homework about the neighbourhood, where parents nag at their children, maids do the laundry and they all laugh at the tv shows. the bulge of after dinner settles us like a stone of contentment. it is time to breathe a slow sigh and enjoy the company of your family and pursue your activities like blogging, going online to chat or reading.
the night falls into a repose, and the rhythm of life toned down and hummed as people get ready for the next day and snuggle up in bed. the night is reminscient of soft jazz, of coolness, mystery and rest. it is as quiet as in a sleeping person's bedroom, where there are breathing sounds but in a steady, peaceful way. cats wake to prowl and play while bats flitted across the orange spheares of street lamps. the night recharges and slowly eases into the dead of the night where everything is so still, so quiet you can hear yourself think.
then, it begins all over again, as you step out of the house at the break of dawn and the air is refreshing and cool..

localbrand
that's it! i'm official. An official Localbrand supporter. i bought my shirt at an outlet in town. was quite daunted by supposing that i have to do That Expression to get the discount, but lucky for me the shopkeeper spared my agony, seeing how uneasy i was, but gave me the discount! yay!
anyway, my birthday is coming up this sunday, 3rd april where i'll be turning sweet 16 19. so, as a very practical person, i've decided to write down a wishlist so that you all know what to presents to get me. hehe. rux and wen, pls ignore the list. you all can get me "anything". lol.
here goes:
1. ipod shuffle!!! (ok unrealistic but.)
2. LAVA LAMP. hahaha. ok its only a fantasy.
3. white heels. size 8 or 38.
4. nice thick belt
5. another size S localbrand tee (i'm addicted!)
6. nice necklace chain that i can wear everyday
7. a small puppy- woof woof ;) ok unrealistic. books then.
8. glittery stuff
9. anything!
BUT! i'll be equally pleased if you guys get me something that's not in the list, cos i love surprises. be creative, pple! and, a simple handshake wishing me Happy Birthday will also suffice cos its the thought that counts. whatever it is, as long as it makes you happy to give.

lookie here! hope it turns out well.

puppies for adoption
WTF?!?
thru the wonderful help of Technorati, i found that my page is linked to a Everything You Need to Know About Adoption website. WTFH? lol. i don't believe it but the link to my blog is plastered under the guise of "what is adoption?", "problems related to adoption", "who to contact", "benefits of adoption" and "advice for adoption". that site is seriously screwed up. what a weird weird site.
*guffaws* considering the hilarity of this strange coincidence or mistake.
hahaha. dun adopt me, i got papa mama already! *runs away from strangers*

advancing tacknolorgi!
"Transparent" screens and a real topsy turvy room shows how bored pple really are. creative though and very amusing. admires banksy for his art. apparently he sneaked into 4 NY museums and put up his own art with name and all.
-links via lancerlord. becoming more and more interesting, that blog.
technorati.com is making me giddy. as well as wholinkstome.com. and i thought statcounter was zai.
ugly singaporeans here.
went to a party with loads of catered goodies (yam paste for dessert) and 2 birthday cakes. one shorkolat and one mango. very bad for waistline but omg how heavenly. my tastebuds are all very happy now, being so pampered :)
watched quite a bit of jay chou's Wu Yu Lun Bi concert DVD too. rocks man. and that part of wen lan dancing with the the tango guy is sizzling. he can die a happy man. i mean, wenlan's like *one big watermelon.. cut into half..* you get what i mean ;)

do something by britney spears
i am so flattered! haha the singapore official porn site had decided to feature all the sexy female bloggers and i'm included, making me very thrilled indeed. thanks zhiyang! ;)
anyway yeah to respond to the kind suggestions by cowboy caleb and zhiyang, i would very much like to get a site feed for my blog, but thing is, i am not using blogger! am very saddened. using a very prehistoric and ancient blogging host (which i liked very much simply cos it IS simple). therefore i have no idea how to put my entries up. i've signed up on bloglines though and found it a breeze to use to read other blogs. pity bout pretty templates though, they will go obsolete with such new-fangled quickies.
and i've decided to stick with cowboy's #4 be consistent in your content rule on blogging. i shall bitch, rave, swoon and complain whenever i want. and throw in pretty prose occasionally. its too tiring to maintain and high-profile blog.
on another totally different note, i saw wong qing hai (the wushu guy?) and aaron aziz near my house after a shoot. i think its for an episode of Heartlanders. they looked exactly like on they did on the show, contrary to the "real person look better than television" (direct translation from "zhen ren bi dian shi hao kan"). which is a pretty funny term actually since anybody looks better than a square, electronic box. haha.
BUT! i did not see julian hee! so disappointed. he's supposed to be on heartlanders, no? oh- he's on last season. aziz is back now. that's so sad. haha he's like my fav. male local artiste, and wen agrees with me! hee rocks!
sounding totally like a mindless teenager now but i don't care. i'm turning 19 in like a week. and after that its 20, where your age doesn't end with a "teen" anymore so you are considered an adult. very scary indeed.
currently loves these songs:
Dishwalla - Angels and Devils
Kelly Clarkson - Because of You
Britney Spears - Do Something
3 Doors Down - Let Me Go
Daniel Beddingfield - Wrap My Words Around You
Bowling for Soup - Almost
Pug Jelly - Ransom Letter
The Bravery - Honest Mistake

1. Team America
2. Pooh's Heffalump Adventure
3. Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events
4. Hitch
5. Howl's Moving Castle
6. Shutter
Movies i Want to Catch
1. Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous
2. Constantine
3. Ray
4. Swing Girls
seems like quite a lot of movies showing now are kiddy kiddy ones. haha.
had a fun night out yesterday with my favourite boys, all cleanly shaven and high. haha. my body clock is SO screwed.
recently the singaporean blogosphere has been receiving much attention due to the "I'm too sexy for my blog" project, with mb providing newspaper coverage and all the blogs suddenly popping up with photos of tongue and rolling eyes. lookie here!. heh.
anyway i'm having an identity crisis right now. or shall i say my blog is having one. or is it me? (see? i can't even figure out if blog=me or me=blog) should i continue in my daily ramblings of an average 19 yr-old or should i strive to become popular like wat cowboy caleb says? and adhere to the rules of blogging like what tony pierce says? or just screw them all and stick to my mind-numbingly boring posts, bad grammar and all? sigh.
it is a full moon tonight. according to my sec sch physics/psychic teacher, full moons bestow more power to a person so that his/her capacity to achieve things are expanded. he says full moon nights are good for studying. haha i can still remember crap like these. and he told us weird stuffs like black magic and all that. one particular interesting experiment involves suspending a ring from a thread at the rim of a cup of water and slowly the ring will start to swing sideways and hit the rim of the cup. you are supposed to concentrate on asking a question involving an answer in numbers while holding the ring. so for example if you ask "how many kids will i have?" the number of times the ring hits the rim is your answer. interesting huh.
i have no idea how to get a RSS feed for my pitas blog :(

10 Reasons Why I Use Pitas
1. because everyone else is using Blogger and i'm unique.
2. because blogger screwed up my archives once by disappearing them and i was emotionally scarred. Never will i repeat this traumatic experience. (my archives are back though). NEVER.
3. because you are allowed to use Imagestation photos on it, blogger just shows them as little red crosses. and no, i don't use Flickr.
4. because blogger used to have a banner ad on top and i hate imperfection. now that banner is a useless "search" and "blog this" bar.
5. because pitas is easy to use and design. no blogger tags and everything else.
6. because pitas is the most stable. it has never "page not found" on me once.
7. because i will not become lazy with pitas entries. i know html and i use it, not like blogger with its auto font colouring and embellishing function.
8. because pitas is shorter than blogspot when you type it on the url bar.
9. because pitas is purple and very minimalist.
10. because you don't have to publish after you post. very LPPL, that.

off to sleep
update: problem solved! pretty template again! :)
Thursday, March 24, 2005, 01:30 a.m.
sentence ensemble
am very frustrated over statcounter and its ability to screw up my nice pretty girl blog template (i changed it back already). its blank everytime i insert the counter code into my html. having a big old headache right now searching for a good template and talking to everyone else and uploading pics and listening to jazz. what i need is a template that allows me to put up loads of links, and other general stuff while being aesthetically pleasing and interesting at the same time. this layout is good and simple but the links are all squeezed up in a dropdown form. argh.
i think my headache comes from sleeping at 2 am last night and waking up at 5pm. yes. i actually woke up at 5pm.
darned weather.
oh tony pierce says we can't blog about the weather or what we did today or stuffs like that cos nobody wants to hear it :(
i'm opening so many windows my toolbar has an arrow on it for me to scroll to view the windows. my fingers feel tingly.
this is a very very disjointed blog entry. pardon me i just feel like writing this way.
i love hula and co. clothes. they have a selection there which is so.. me. my cupboard is running out of space.
i have yet to start on my gz lessons. procrastinating indeed.
saw this entire tank of bullfrogs outside an eatery in geylang. so cruel! they looked sad.

lamest show on earth
herro! wuahaha Team America is the funniest shit i've ever watched. omg. its really.. fuck yeah!
interview today was very short. interview results out by early april. shall find other job opportunities in the meantime.
submitted my NUS and NTU applications. appraisal form had to wait until this saturday.
hey guys, do you realise that when you take the mrt you will almost always get to listen to vulgarities? yep that's rite. "ada barang barang.. dlkjealrkj... si mi lan, si mi lan, si mi lan" i think the person was trying to say 999 in malay, which is sembilan, but for some reason it sounds exactly like a vulgar question to me. heh look out for it next time and listen hard ya ;)
oh my oh my, if you show the "I'm too sexy for my blog" expression at all localbrand shops you get 20 percent off their shirts! me running off to a localbrand store to do weird expression now! here's my take on it, brown me! haha.

spiky tail and horns
finally, watched Pooh's Heffalump Adventure with wing today! it was really really cute and enjoyable, loves it! haha i mean some people might think that it is really dumb to pay 6.50 to watch some 63min 2D cartoon in a theatre, but i think it is more than that. it is taking a trip down the memory lane, to enjoy a innocent film and be a child again. lumpy was super cute and i liked his accent. haha and pooh and gang had IQs of room temperature, there were really dumb. beat was like telling me that the movie was supposed to have some political meaning to it in a very subtle way, something about prejudice and venturing into the unknown to terrorise something because of fear. hmm.
the friendship between roo and lumpy was also very nicely portrayed. felt that they had accurately represented Friendship, with its ups and downs. sometimes your friend might let you down but they don't mean to or it did not come out the way they wanted. however in the end, if they trust in each other everything will be alright and the friendship is made stronger because of that :)
anyway it was great catching up with wing and i've not seen my darling in a while. we took some neoprints too and it was funny how we managed to -not- decorate the prints cos we are sotongs. heh. eating her cookies now wif milk. yummy, thanks darling!
i'm going for an interview tomorrow at 9.30am for a job as a household surveyor for Ministry of Manpower. i hope i can get the job, i'm excited just thinking about all the office wear i can buy! and after working for a month i'll hopefully be rich enough to afford to travel.
PS: the long john silver's new hot and spicy chicken thingy was not spicy at all- its like eating the normal chicken on just that it had green spices on the crust (which is tasteless). it was literally hot though. as in temperature hot, not hot in taste. haha.

new template
right i'm really quite sick of the white ninja template so i've decided to do something about it. its freakin 3.20am now i wonder why am i not sleepy yet. i suspect its the 4 cups of tea i drank at my last day of work today. auction was alright, i had to try really really hard to stay awake while clicking thru 1056 powerpoint slides from 9.30 to 6.30. just watched Tak Giu. seems like another royston tan but i liked it too :) local films rock.
funny how coincidences work, cos i met this girl called alexia during my first day of work and found out that she's from nj too. and we are going to be related! albeit in a very long distance kinda way but still.. haha and its like our names are so similar and we are both aries. waay coincidental.
i've not yet submitted my application. gonna apply under discretionary criteria so i need a certain someone to help me fill out the appraisal form and that can only happen on wed. quite determined to get into SCI, NTU. it is my dream course, i realised. seriously hope that i can get in.
d/ling spongebob movie on lime wire now. team america is also on the way. whee~ i love slacking.
oh oh don't you think the girl on the blog template looks like Emily Browning? she was Violet in Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. i enjoyed the show btw, despite bad reviews from other people. i think the costume design and the settings were really unique and superb, the film deserve the oscar it got for that category. jim carrey was his usual Ace Ventura/The Mask self, and the exciting bits like how the house on the cliff broke apart was really quite a feast for the senses. the ending was also quite good. 4/5 stars. what's more sunny was super cute, and of course violet's like damn chio, and she's like only 17!
