shall update and improve my stand on the relief support provided by singaporeans. i think it is really heartwarming to see so many spontaneous donations. hotlines, smses, blogs, companies.. all sprang to action within 2 days. a massive natuaral disaster triggered a massive humanitarian reaction. there's hope yet.
anyway its the last day of work today with Apple Centre, the roadshow. finally, the mind-numbing boring rot at the smelly, windy tent is over. bye bye shaw house, bye bye orchard crowd.
i'm tired. shall go sleep, bye. and oh, happy new year :)
anyway had boring work the next day again. sucks cos the roadshow ran out of everything and i'm just sitting there stoning.. and stoning.. and stoning.. lucky the company was not the naggy ol' guy on the 26th. it was super cold that day, drizzled the whole day and i sit directly under the fan! brr.. made arrangements to hang out wif zq n geri for movie. so i watched phantom of opera again, courtesy of zq. it was 10.30pm at PS.. ahh i wouldn't have gone if not for the lovely company :) anyway the show's quite nice la, watching it again allows me to notice previously unnoticed details. and the tunes are fabulous.
had burgers at the still-open wonderful PS mac. haha yeah cabbed home. had to wake up next day for work, argh. oh, its today. haha yeah seemed like a long while, probably cos today was super boring too. lucky i had benson to talk to man.. otherwise i would have decomposed and the booth will be my grave.. oh yeah the 20gbs and the minis are IN! yes, finally in stock. business is still slack at the rdshow though. anyway, its my last day at work for Apple tmr, at the roadshow. i won't be missing it man! the pay is good but its definitely not fun to work.
might be relief-teaching in stnix pri. the pros are weighing against the cons.. its just 10 mins away frm my house, the pay is good, hours regular, i get to eat orange-bowl noodles... but the thing is, its a PRIMARY school crammed with screaming, mad kids! *horrified* darn. i'll give it a try anyway. though i really want to be UNEMPLOYED actually. darnified darn.
there were tears in my eyes when i flipped open the Straits Times ytd morning, seeing all the images of dead bodies and relatives mourning. heard dan and grace on perfect10 ytd discussing it and how singaporeans are just plain oblivious to such disasters, even though it is so close to home. a large majority of the pple don't care, or just dismiss it simply because it does not concern them or their well-being. i wonder what has become of our society- are we numb? or just too ill-informed? do we only reach out and help only when there is a televised circus offering huge prizes for reward when you dial 1900-?
there are comforting signs that pple do care though, reading all the reports on the donations that singaporeans had made, some in huge amounts of money, some offering to collect food, clothes etc. and yes, echoing jm's view, i can't believe the Gahmen is only offering 2 mil in support. we are just right next door, we are the ones that can do the most, being at the peak of economic strength right now, and the gov throws in a measly 2 mil? i'm quite sure we have more in our coffers. sigh.
Everyone is equal in the face of death. so why grudge how much you give when you are going to leave with nothing? give whatever you have, and expect nothing. this way you will be rewarded with everything, someday. peace.
anyway i took a day off originally with the thought of celebrating.. oh, happy birthday wen! hahaa yay now u can legally get into clubs :P yep. dunno what am i suppose to do later but yeah it'll be good. haha. went for prata supper again after work ytd. super happy cos alot of pple went, in total there were 11 of us! that's like the max alr man. me, ben, yl, ql, yh, ahyee, cy, qy, jm, chunen, toon! ahah once in a full blue moon i say. prata was satisfying, yummy i'm getting fat.
sigh right now everything is happening so fast and my days are so packed, they just drop into oblivion the next day when i wake up. no time for me to have my sweet syrupy lipton in the morning, to flip the newspaper and savour the luxury of free time. its just rush rush plan plan all the way. sigh i'm really looking forward to january where i hopefully will be unemployed. i need a break man, just to catch up with friends, to catch up with myself and just enjoy the gap months.
knew about the tremendous earthquake that happened ytd last night. can you imagine the horror, looking at a 3 storey high wave advance upon you? such tragedies remind us that we must treasure the people around you. one moment you can be talking with them and the next minute they might be gone. what did these pple do to deserve such a fate? the quake will also send tremors to the asian economy, no doubt. oh the irony, with the report just a day before about the booming Thai economy.
God Bless.
darn i got work tmr. watched phantom of the opera with rux just now. it was good! go watch.. its quite well made. walked around the much more tame orchard crowd tonight and went for prata supper. woohoo.

erm, and we didn't pay for our steamboat. (shhH!!!) hahaha for some reason there was a confusion at the counter and smart cy and benson just took the plates w/o showing the receipt. saved 12 bux and it went to the Christmas Outing Fund. you'll see why in a bit..
after that super full dinner we headed to Orchard. wonder why we do that, its quite sadistic actually knowing that you are definitely gonna be squeezing with millions of other pple. realised that i go to orchard every yr during xmas w/o fail for the past few yrs already. haha anyway its an experience not to be missed la. its the only 2 days of the year (the other being new yr) that you get to litter, vandalise and terrorise other pple without ending up in jail. haha orchard is total madness and mayhem. the crowds were unbelievable. and all that spraying!!! Singaporeans are deprived of snow that's why- we go around with cans of aerosol foam that stank to high heavens to "celebrate" xmas. haha it was quite pretty though. anyway me and yulin were protected by the 4 other guys.
its quite funny, actually. hahaha as in, its quite fun. yep despite being slightly traumatising. at first we din have the cans of crazy ribbon/foam but we decided to fight back and join in the madness so we bought 6 for 10 bux using our Christmas Outing Fund. man do they earn huge profits, since 1 can is probably only 50cents. yeah so we were armed with our "weapons".. whenever someone tries to spray at me or yulin the guys will corner that person and spray at them/him till they admit defeat. hahaha. and oh yaa.. for some reason the street is filled with Bangalas. like.. 50% of them are those pple and quite a number of them are also armed (so rich hor!). lol there's this incident where a group of bangalas snow-sprayed-fought with us and its damn funny. cy became Frosty the Snowman!
met julian on the way and wah kao he spray at me!! how can i fren leh! haha but its only soap so i forgive him. next time i shall have my revenge. muahaha speaking of which, lol i sort of "bullied" tis little girl who sprayed at me, so i just put my hand down on her aerosol to block it and sprayed back at her. i'm like how tall and she's like a little kid.. then her mum came to help, but i still win! hahaha so funny.
oh ya saw some trans too and i pity them cos they were bullied by all the pple who just sprayed at them mercilessly, even though they were unarmed. esp this really ugly one, she got sprayed up her mini skirt!!! oooh poor thing ya, and bad luck. hahah the pple din realise she actually might have man-strength. hm too bad she din retaliate.
ah i'm tired. hope i don't exert too much energy tmr, i don't wanna stand nor walk! give my legs a break~ cheers all, and gong xi fa cai! haha.

anyway its quite screwed up, am suppose to go for a pri sch gathering but it got screwed cos of the communication breakdown. then my pri sch band annual christmas dinner is also quite screwed, we only have like 5 pple going. the numbers dwindle by the year. in time there will be no one. actually right now all i want to do is stay at home and chill- slack and watch tv and just take a breather. don't feel like going out this christmas eve.
yesterday's dinner at yr's house was excellent. jerry's mum's ham and turkey was fantastic! man its the first time i ate such wonderful turkey! ahhh and we played mahjong after that. haha i won 2 times, not bad! its damn funny to play wif jun, jerry and fab cos they will keep screaming in excitement. haha too bad i had work till late so i reached her house quite late. darn, i really like to hang out with those wonderful pple! i'm keeping my fingers crossed on attending more of these gatherings ya? :)
yeps was blasting out xmas songs on the speakers ytd at my booth to get pple in the mood! playing Feliz Navidad now, i have no idea why that's a xmas song but nvm haha. ooh my neck is still slightly itchy. i got a feeling i'm allergic to alcohol. either that or smoke. this is not good. where did both come from? jhouk! went there on wed for uberture's crave. first time to zouk.. the pageant was alright, they looked hot. but aiyohhh it was really quite boring eh the club. mambo was sheer retardity. had a bit of fun there laughing at the retards on the podium doing para para.. then we tried to go phuture but it was wayy crowded, there was mass squeezing! can't even move properly much less dance. so we kept on trying other venues eg. velvet underground (nice place, not crowded, but they playing techno shit!) and going back to mambo, back to phuture etc. Arrggh the agony. why can't pple just open more clubs and play proper music? oh well, i'll just chalk it up as an experience. maybe it won't be so crowded next time (tho i doubt so). haha and rux, dun be so "hum" next time!!! go fer it! wuahaha. rux and wen r seriously cute man. love them to bitsy bits, we are R.A.W.!!!
ahh what else. tues was seniors farewell at crystal's house. oooh and before that i went wif rux to a salon at chinatown to do our hair! haha she rebonded, i cut mine! it is super funky now, i like it very much. i think it suits my personality more :P and its quite low maintenance cos it looks styled when i wake up (bedhead!!), i just have to set it with either wax/gel/clay/mud/mousse (!! wat the..)
anyway wats up with me inserting so many brackets all over the place. bah.
later better be good because i'm leaving my house for it and its a huge sacrifice. oh yeah, i'm off today and tmr. and 27th. and 31st. that's all folks,
what a wonderful picture. i hope i can at least experience that once. the mood in orchard is contagious. haha and we will play xmas songs on the speakers as the night approaches and the decorations light up. if only everybody will lighten up when walking along the street and smile. i realised how it is very nice when pple smile to you when they walk past or take the flyers. it doesn't hurt to smile, i don't understand why there are pple who just pretend you are invisible or just look plain grumpy. Christmas is not a time to be grouchy! smile and sing along with the christmas songs! :) cheers
will be at the tent again tmr, i really wonder why the Apple pple bothered with the roadshow. the cheapest item there costs 8 (40gb) and do you think you will just walk to the tent on the street and say "hey give me one of those"? no right? want to buy also go to the Apple Centre to buy.. haha but there are really cases of pple who just walk in and say "i want this, this and this. how much?" loads of rich pple in singapore. get to pple watch at the tent and you see Zara bags, Gucci, DFS.. esp the japs, they are in high-end shopping haven!
oooh jessica simpson's Little Drummer Boy is super nice. haha it sounds fresh.
