santa is a great dude. he brought back to me the friendship of one whom i loved most dearly. he sent away the annoyances of my life. he rekindled my love for many special things. he made me feel like a truly blessed person! according to christina, santa must also be blind, because i've done nothing good this year- well then, dear santa, i promise not be naughty next year if you'll help me once last time by making my homework disappear!

on a quiet christmas eve morning, jolyn chua jinghui slumped in a pool, grabbed a half drunk bottle of cider (8.5% ABV), held it high in the sky, exclaimed 'Long Live Prince William' and dunked the drink at one go. then she almost drowned herself in the bathroom. funny i can't see how, since it was a shower stand after all. merry christmas to everyone else :)
p.s go choir!

didn't go on my hols after all... mom got sick, sis trashed a car and her back. yup tt's abt it. not that i care much anyway, kind of enjoy slacking at home spending time with myself.
watched lotr with my arch nemesis the Quack yesterday, to sum it up, it warmed our hearts with sights of innocent gay hobbits frolicking on a bed together. meizhen couldn't stop giggling and pointing at legolas. kind of embarassing. then we met up with sheil, who couldn't stop talking. we were only slightly late! (well see right, "meeting at 3" implicitly means "meeting at 3.30" since ppl are assumed to be late, and since 3.30 is almost 3.40, us meeting you at 3.45 makes us only 5 minutes late!) anyway, sheil and i tried buying our engagement rings, but bloody thing was out of stock. then we decided town was too crowded and ended up at her hse. zhen and i decided to be nice, so we left sheil alone to type out her debate case while we er, toyed around with her computer and produced quite a classic image design :) i've been sworn to secrecy over its content, but anyone interested cld try asking zhen. oh yea, she refused to clean up. how unsporting :P
christmas coming up. zh has a stupid idea.

and the quacking continues...

Posted at 05:09 pm

dearest moron,
i do not relish writing love letters across the internet. however you certainly need to be corrected! thanks but no thanks for your unflattering comments, i deny i deny i deny!
on the first day of school everyone had their hands full doing something so i figured might as well make myself useful right! in case you were wondering no one wanted to be the damn rep so i sacrificed myself for a greater good! thirdly your memory appears to be failing you, we got an E in sec3 for cleanliness. thank you very much and i'm not to blame! everyone (you included) hated duty ok.
oh yea and your last point: if you'll pay for my degree in botany, i'll gladly accept your err invitation to be your gardener! and even then, only if you pay me 10k per month :] only then can i ensure that your garden will be in tip-top condition!
finally, quacks are useful ok. i'm a living example. yoohoo.
p.s. 26th pls!
p.p.s. here's a good tip: to avoid cleaning up after messing it up, burn the place down.

dear quack,
i have no wish to entrench myself in a long drawn paper warfare with you either, but your stupidity pains me too much.
it is slightly weird to me, that on the first day of sch, when everyone else is happily chatting away, you can only amuse yourself with a broom. this says alot abt your popularity. but in any case, if you were happy to make yourself useful cleaning up the class on day 1 of school, i don't see why you won't be happy making yourself useful clearing up after our party. i'm merely acceding to your er.. special needs.
but i must apologise. an E grade for cleanliness under your Quack-ness impeccable leadership is an brilliant grade. I must apologise. E is brilliant, i mean we only just didn't fail. it's the best possible grade ever. E haha. E.
i'm giving you a gardening job out of my good generous nature. most people would mistake you for a weed.
living example of what?!
p.s. sheil said smth abt a family thing smth after christmas. i hope she's reading all this :)
p.p.s it's her hse so i don't really care. bring kerosene.

a note from my dear friend mz

moron alert: serene chew
Posted at 09:12 pm

dearest serene,

i don't know how & when you went away with the idea that i am your maid. well i will tell you now. I AM NOT YOUR MAID! my gosh can't imagine the horrors -- to be at your beck & call. yuck! well you can have a happy time cleaning up after yoursel(ves). not my problem not my problem!
p.s. oh yea i have training on the 27th. hmm.

gee, somebody obviously doesn't have any christmas spirit!

dearest meizhen,
it was sheila's idea to get you to clear up. in fact, if you were wondering when we got the idea that you enjoyed clearing up, it's prob when you started hogging the class broomstick on day one of school in sec 1. or maybe it's the fact that you volunteered (well okay, we volunteered you the third time) to be Cleanliness Rep for every freaking year in your secondary school career until you got sacked when we got a F grade for cleanliness in sec3. and i can't imagine having you as my maid. imagine having to live with a duck. besides, i thought we agreed you were going to do my gardening for me! anyway, you are nothing more than a quack(meizhen), merry christmas!
p/s hrm. haven't settled a date yet. wait till sheil decides on smth. :P when are you free?

work ended, holiday finally starts for real. debate training on sunday which by the end of it, evolved into a full-fledged mahjong game (to our credit, we actually stayed focused enough to finish what we set out to do first!) then, a get together with mich, crystal, rachel and rumin. sheila forgot to wake up :P it was great, get togethers with ex-classmates are always great. mich straightened her hair, i curled mine, the world is turning upside down :P never thought a french movie could be sold out in singapore, people obviously getting more horny these days... anyway, my holiday just started. chris and i came up with my to-do list, apparently i have 21 things to do in 21 days... well make that 21 things to do in 17 days now. actually 22 things in 17 days- i have a script to write *wink Jo*

Friday, December 12, 2003,11:28 a.m.

Party at Lala's house on the 26th/27th! Keep the dates free! To invite yourself, please sms us! Meizhen, you are cordially invited to clean up the place after we trash it! Last day of work!

i realise how, as much as i hate to admit it, i've drifted apart from many of my closest friends. i'm increasingly an outsider- even in get-togethers where we sit around and chat, i can only have a peripheral role in a conversation centred around their schoolmates and new social circles. i don't doubt that i made a great choice in going to hc, but sometimes like now, i wonder how much i've lost as a result. or whether i was even important to them to begin with, or merely incidental in their school life. obviously i maybe stretching it too far over here- we aren't that distant yet! but if a year apart can erode this much in a friendship, do i dare see us keeping it strong for years and years to come?

taking a break from SATs revision. not quite sure what to revise in any case, so i'm just playing around with analogies. working life, as i had imagined, is unglamourous and plagued with paper work. apart from the occasional doses of juicy information and excitment, it remains a perfunctory exercise of data-filing. i realise how sad a 9-6 type office career is... you get up way too early, and get home way too tired to do anything meaningful with your life. over a decade's worth of education simply to gear myself up for a lifetime of dullness/catfights/bitching seems terribly depressing. perhaps i'm being too idealistic over here... anyway, onto my other fledging career as a stock broker, i took up zhuanghui and christina's (ill) advice, and am now a proud shareholder of Asia Pacific Breweries :)

Friday, November 28, 2003,06:44 p.m.

almost 3 hours since touch camp ended, and i haven't spoken more than a word to anyone since. way too drained of energy to do that.

i don't think i gained much inspiration, or learnt anything more than a few games or songs from it. if anything, i think i re-affirmed my own belief of how poor my kid-handling skills are. but i admit, you gain a certain degree of satisfaction whilst watching the kids enjoy the games. there is always one or two adorable wide-eyed kids who make up for all the other brats. glad that i got to work with a great bunch of people.

oh yah, THAT night out was way fun too.

Monday, November 24, 2003,01:40 p.m.

someone just called looking for my dad. she asked for his office no. and it suddenly dawned upon me that i didn't know. anyway, searched the house for it and couldn't find it. then she asked me where his office was. then i realised that the last time i was there was about 5 years ago, and i think he's moved twice ever since. and then she gave me some company name and said if that was the right address. i thought for a moment, and it sounded vaguely familiar. but then again, i can hardly be sure. it's amazing how little i know of what he does- he could be a russian druglord for all i know. he mentioned something about electronics, but really, i wouldn't know if he made energizer bunnies or otherwise- it's a real shame that i've taken such a dim interest in what he does.

my tag board has been rather active recently... i shall pretty much ignore them. meizhen, i checked with my s7 friends, there are things like dormant viruses, except they are called something else which i can't remember. so there :) christina, haven't had the chance to go karting, been busy this week.

sats revision a big failure. i prob know more rugby players' name than potential sat words. still ploughing through the list desperately.

to all HC humans CAPers, rachel said "i found out the hc humans people are rather nice". well done all of you. "fauziah does malay dance very well...very graceful". even better fuzzy :) jo, i heard you tried to (strip?)dance. haha. maybe i should have offered you a pole.

Monday, November 17, 2003,09:33 p.m.

pw and drama camp wrapped up a busy busy week. pw was dumb, but noone expected it to be fun either, so i'm not complaining. drama camp was alright, i guess since i spent most of my time slacking in the humans staff room, or amusing myself with non-kids related stuff, i feel pretty indifferent about it all. fun though.

huixin forced me to watch My Sassy Girl on vcd. what she didn't tell me was that it happened to be a korean movie with only chinese subtitles. anyway huixin: i fail to see any resemblance between me and the lead actress apart from the fact that i'm probably alot cuter :P

mom sprained her back and still plans to dance latin cha-cha (whatever that is) tommorrow. and she complains when i say i was going go-karting.

news update: montoya's signing on for mclaren!

Thursday, November 6, 2003,06:24 p.m.

last day of school, but then again, it feels hardly like the last day of school. last days of school don't usually come attached with project work presentations, sats preparation, work attachment programs, community service projects etc.

jo and i wrote a script. murder mystery, no less. how austin powers and cleopatra got into the picture, i have no idea. but who cares. this marks the end of my budding script writing career. from now on, i will deal exclusively with holland village type plots, whatever they are.

tried the chinese lit s paper. didn't think i was way off the target when i suggested the poem was rather nice and the author was also rather nice. sounded like a fair comment to me. at the very least, it's original- take that, chengwei.

whee. weekend again. i've just wasted another week of my life doing almost nothing.

went to the Science centre today. amazing how we can act like little kids, totally fascinated by amateurish tricks. but then, shuping needed some well, mature pleasures, so we rode the "stimulator". she's rather upset we missed "Deep Sea" which featured a giant sperm whale and had to watch "Crashendo" instead, a rather sorry simulation of an accident-prone piano.

everything else that needs to be said abt this week can be found on everyone else's blog. so i'll just ignore that and try defend myself instead. to jo: all i ever said was "jo and i are offering our services for script-writing", don't remember mentioning your name anywhere else, unless of course, you are arrogant enough to assume you are the only budding porn actress in class :)

I've been conned

Postulate 1: Knowledge is Power.
Postulate 2: Time is Money.

As every engineer knows,

Work
---------- = Power
Time

Since Knowledge = Power, and Time =Money, we have

Work
--------- = Knowledge
Money

Solving for Money, we get:

Work
----------- = Money
Knowledge

Thus, as Knowledge approaches zero, Money approaches infinity regardless of the Work done.
Conclusion: The Less you Know, the more money you Make.

drama fest 2003: arts fac script outlines

with jo and i offering our services for script writing, a radical and unconventional plot awaits! we are still working on a good outline... got a few ideas but still working on it. after all, it's hard to decide when you've got so many great ideas!
our faves:
1. The Pool Game: an avant-garde attempt... a pool table on the stage with one person playing pool on his own, no dialogue required. in the middle of his game, jo will crawl up onto the table and do her pornstar thing then walk away. and the game continues... sequence continues repeatedly.
2. The Porn Star : a touching real life story of a young 17 year old budding porn actress trying to make it big time... definitely an inspirational watch. no prizes for guessing who's the lead actress.

whee, i'm convinced the only reason somebody invented promos were for the post promo activities. hectic few days, think i've exerted far more energy enjoying myself in the past 5 days than i did studying for a month! started with the orchard shopping, indulging in our favourite activity- buying new hair accessories. then my place for the superduper table tennis training regiment. oh and some idiots got themselves toasted out at sun. then the long awaited visit to eng siang's hse, where despite the pretty scenery (& lots of the girls in the pool!) i'm not sure if it is to our credit that zh was left drooling over Bring it On instead. Save the last dance was cool enough, my bridge playing skills suck (diane = lousy teacher) and huixin is progressing in her mahjong skills. everything captured on petrina's arthouse made-in-china camera.

festival of sport. table tennis was funny, we played 3 single matches instead of 2 singles and a double, only because sheryl stood there and forgot to play. volleyball's funny, we managed one brilliant serve in 2 games. soccer was dumb, i didn't manage to use my wonderful diving skills. our first decent result came with basketball! or and we progressed pass round 1 of netball through a walkover (the staff team were having staff meeting. and then my extremely forgettable and regrettable love affair with the mike. terribly unimpressive performance for tag interview and netball again! whee!

Rio Ferdinand

England is stupid... they can't attack so i guess now they don't plan to defend either. i hope the turks drown them. i guess it's alot more comforting to have in the squad a guy who takes part in mass orgies than him. gah, promos start in about 10 hours and i'm wasting my time over here :)

Tuesday, October 8, 2003,08:35 p.m.

Happy Birthday Lisa

serene: Is it your birthday today? If it is, happy birthday! may you grow to be as cute as me!

lisa: ya... it is... but if i grow to be as 'cute' as you are... i'd rather not be born :P

some of us have no sense of humour.

Tuesday, October 8, 2003,02:34 p.m.

Things I want to do after Promos

1. pierce my ear (wanna join me, petrina?) 2. go shopping 3. watch that russian roulette thing. 4. plan my vacation. 5. paint my room 6. buy the latest jon mayer album. 7. convince dad we need one of those funky plama TVs 8. fix up the lousy ethernet thing 9. revamp this site. 10. haha. *points at picture*

for now. muggy time.

Thursday, October 3, 2003,08:27 p.m.

Sorry if i seemed depressed today. Received a certain unfortunate piece of information this morning that i never really got time to digest since i was rushing away to school, so i guess that sense of shock carried through the day. :)

Monday, September 29, 2003,11:09 p.m.

riddickulus! my chances of getting promoted, s papers, not getting killed by my parents, future, life (ok i'm stretching it a bit)... hinges on a 17th century horny bastard. i love lit.

picked up from mz's site for your entertainment: Gep Bashing

Friday, September 19, 2003,04:48 p.m.

this week was muggy week. i get progressively more tired everyday so what the hell. i'm slacking for the day. school is very educational. today i learnt that bolsters were primitive air-cons which were known as dutch wives cos they had about the same sex drive. i also learnt that somewhere in between south america and africa lies a tiny spot called Shag Rocks. Oh and amazingly enough, i learnt abt my Mozambican boyfriend Richard. and then i realise how socially inept i am, even when i try, i don't seem to understand anything that is going on. as for the webpage layout. haha. glad you liked it. it's erm... a result of my terribly imaginative mind... don't read too much into it :) i can't seem to figure out how to change the tagboard thingee from red to some other colour.

Hehhehhehheh, my first entry!
