are u a group-ie?

music: i like the rasmus - its on repeat

males, they tend to cleave to the notion of rules set by the rest in the group/herds they call their frens. oblivious as they are to the detrimental effects of such group-ie rules, many, of course, refuse to admit that its actually doing them more harm.

the journey to group-ie hood starts out young. most group-ie members usually cannot sustain good relationships outside. when the group sinks, they sink too, and so does their relationship. and the need to group never cease to stop. bunkmates bcomes bruders, gangs, motor gangs and of late the skinheads. it never ends. wat happened to individualism? and men being independant? my ass...

those who refuse to bind themselves to such group rules tend to be high flyers. dont believe me? bill gates was a loner. but of course he has frens. he is not socially dysfunctional. but he dares to break out from such group-ie acts. not like it takes much of a courage to do so anyway.

having buddies does not mean following each other in terms of mentallity, u jump i jump, coz u did this, so must i. and most men/boys are eager to stick to a group merely to gain an identity. what i believe, is that, shared glorification, or pitfalls, should be kept within the dynamics of a team, in terms of working a person's values and personalities, not creating them.

hit me

music: the rasmus - in the shadows

sometimes u think u haf gotten over smthing when in actual fact, you have only stashed and dumped those thoughts to some dark recess of ur mind, more unconsciously than not. months or years later, you'll experience an emotional resurection that you wld rather not be reminded of.

hit me on the head with a hammer please. strike me hard so that the blow will leave me with a concussion so bad i might just lose my memory.

geeks time to rule

music: michelle branch - you set me free

caught average joe 2 and ya tuhan its hilarius! mister curly-skanky-but-adorable-geek man enticed me to stay tuned after he opened the show with that really bogus one liner, he met that gorgeous lady, asked for her birthdate, in which she replied was in september i tink, and wished her a happy birthday right away.

i pity the lady though. coz as accomadating as she tries to be.. underneath all that front im sure she must have been swearing her fate.

but hey not all geeks are deemed losers. look at mr hung-man. he's great! no? and clay aiken too has a geeky-like persona but no one is complaining *steps on podium* geeks rule the world! *steps off podium*

reality retail therapy

music: VE & ruffedge - khayalan

ever heard of choice theory? wat abt reality therapy? theyre having this, choice theory and reality therapy as a general elective module. and i almost took it up coz i thought it was retail therapy. yes how i wish. but nontheless the former does sounds pweeeeteeee interesting.

"Choice Theory (CT) is a new approach in understanding how we can achieve personal freedom by making responsible choices. CT developed by William Glasser, a psychiatrist, states that all we do is a matter of choice of behaviours to meet the five basic needs-survival, love and belonging, power, freedom and fun. Reality Therapy (RT) is the method of counseling to help people deal with their problems by making better choices. It differs from other psychotherapies in that it focuses on the present. It is based on the axiom of CT that no matter what happens to us in the past, we can be happy and effective by living and planning in the present for a better future."

yes im the wholesale pembaluter of the century...

talking bout retail therapy.. 4 tops and smthing i have no idea wat to call it. i tink im supposed to hang it on my neck. looks like a bookmark more than anything else though......

siti lili

music: joss stone - at last

this poor thing was stuck in between my balcony grills yesterday eve. one scared but very very hyper flyer. my bibik caught it and we put it under a wire basket for awhile coz a few lot of us in the house were quiet very jakunz, never being able to look at a pweetee lil tweeeteeee upclose.

and my visiting baby nephew had his share of rolling good time by going weet weet.. weet weet whilst tapping the wire basket on the top to get the bird's attention. but only to scare that little thing even more of course. and it was trying to escape tru those grills half the time anyway. little toddler boys will never look the same again to poor lil siti lili. yes we named it. we had to let it go coz my dad was making noise bout siti lili pooping all over the place. *sticks out tongue*

its a slack day.

2 consecutive days of going berserk and coming home lates. am so so tired. my supervisor called me up at 8.50 in the morning to brief me on next monday. oh so much for wanting to wake up late, thank u kak jamilah! i went straight back to sleep the moment i put down the receiver.... but of course......

i woke up to the sound of the teevee in my room blarring coz mama was watching the news. and mama never watch teevee with the volume below 30. sheeesh. pening kepala saya bila bangun tadi. feel like acking everytime i watch those news on teevee bout iraq. poor things. Noam Chomsky is my hero now. What he writes, i heart coz its the sad blatant truth. and i agree with him totally when he declared the occupation in iraq an astonishing failure.

oh i so feel like slacking at home today ppl. my fren jus asked me for some help painting her room. sorrie lah dearie. i know i promised ya but saya nak slack. *hehe* i have this stack of cds wic khairul burned for me and its screaming for my attention. i tink i shall dive into that over lunch today.

i jus bought a dress over at yahoo auctions. *yaaaahooooo* wearing that with black capri slacks wld be nice. think audrey hepburn. now if i can jus find the right bag.. toodooot tooodoooot tooodoooot

the golden ratio

1.61. a number that intrigues me much coz nature is ruled around it.

take a look at a standard sized credit card for example. take the length and divide it by its breadth. u will arrive at an answer approximated to between 1.4 to 1.8. or somewhere close to 1.6 bcoz humans naturally tend to like these shapes governed around 1.6.. or the golden ratio as its normally coined. rectangles with its length and breadth exactly equal to the golden ratio looks perfect. not lopsided on either sides. so where design aspects fall into place, many designers will draw up designs around these values simply bcoz its pleasing to the eye. try it on other rectangle shaped objects like ur book or ur room door and their ratios will tend to end up approximately around there.

We can extend this further biologically too. people with absolutely perfect features have 1.6 written all over them. the ratio of the width and height of their faces.. eyes.. lips.. or noses... would converge to the golden ratio..

well some knowledge wont hurt now would it. have a good weekend all!
