I hope last night's entry wasn't misleading to anyone. I actually had a very good day and really enjoyed going to the movies with Kate. We did a lot of catching up, had a great dinner and saw a very entertaining movie.
I was just very tired by the time I got to bed last night. I had been up since 7 and had worked from 8-2 then went out with Kate at 5. It's good to be back at Bracket Street and all but I had forgotten how non-stop the action is around there. It's draining.
Anyway. Life is good but I'm starting to experience Brandeis withdrawal already... I must go forth in search of a life.
After work.

About a Boy was a cute movie. Yes, it was a chick-flick. I guess any movie with the word "boy" in the title and Hugh Grant in the lead role would have to be. Unless it was called something like...Boy of Death... and had Hugh Grant playing an overgrown toddler that amused itself by smashing people with a sledgehammer...
It's been kind of a long day.

Hi Ho! It's a lovely day and I am actually looking forward to my first day back at Brackett Street... sorta. I'd rather hang out here and be lazy but I think even I would grow tired of that if I didn't have work to break up the monotony. I know, it sounds strange, but I had a very social and productive year of school... I'm starting to enjoy responsibility.
Anyway, I just had a good weekend in Farmington. Mom, Kali and I (and Bridget) went up Sunday and spent the night. On Monday we watched the Parade and visited the cemeteries with Grandma and Grandpa. Then the Wales crew came up (minus Abby and Tommy) and we began the process of opening up camp. It was very hot and buggy out to Varnum's but it was absolutely beautiful as always.
My apologies to Karen, Eliz and Andrew for not dropping by to visit with you all in Lewiston but I had this uncontrollable urge to get home and I wasn't really thinking. I do want to see Karen's apartment though and I'm sure there will be opportunities in the future. Or, some morning Karen may wake up to find me sitting at her kitchen table eating milk and cookies and whistling a tune. Who knows?

Okay, so I have updated my link to Andrew's blog so I and others don't have to traverse his sadistic relay of defunct blogs to get to the real one. Now the fire in my brain shall die.

Why would anyone want to be a dentist? It's gross. And no one will ever be impressed with your occupation.
Instead of enjoying a nice, restful morning, I am leaving soon to go to my dentist appointment. This is so unfair.
On the other hand, I did enjoy watching Big trouble in Little China last night. Kurt Russell is the man.

Well, Star Wars was cool. It was more interesting and certainly darker than Episode One. Ewan McGregor, Samuel L. Jackson and even Natalie Portman did well with what they were given. The dialogue still sucked pretty much, Hayden Christensen was fairly unimpressive and I still miss the muppets. The digital effects make everything very... cold (although in the case of Yoda they were highly entertaining).
Mostly I was just happy to spend time with Tasha and Koosh on the last night we are all here together. Though I want to go home very badly I am going to miss them and all of my friends here. *sigh* Oh well. Time to get organized...

Well, DeRoy and Renfield are essentially done, excepting the people who are staying late. I have been doing this stuff since 11am and I am quite tired. Especially since the only thing I have eaten today is a bagel with cream cheese which Stella was kind enough to smuggle out of the dining hall for me.
Oh shoot... my laundry is still in the dryer... and has been done since 11:30....

I wish I could go home tonight. :( I'm sick of this place. And all of the facilities issues that are cropping up are driving me CRAZY. My residents left their rooms clean but kind of trashed the common areas on their way out meaning if I don't clean up a little the entire floor is going to get billed. Great, huh? This includes cleaning up one of the most disgusting kitchen areas I have ever come across. I am seriously pissed. And hungry.

DONE!
What a feeling. The bio final was a black, soul-devouring mass of evil but at least it's over.
Theme of the Moment: Footloose - Kenny Loggins

Wow, I haven't been this full in awhile. I just had really good Chinese food, Kosher Chinese food to be precise, with the entire Massell RA staff, plus Rob. It was great and I was surprisingly relaxed throughout the evening despite all of the studying I have to do.
But it's hard to stay focused when already I'm thinking ahead to next year. It was exciting sitting around talking with some of the RA's who will be returning to Massell next year as well as Kerri and Rob(our new assoc. director!!! yippee!!!). I have already moved past this year and I am not nearly as concerned about this bio final as I should be. But we'll see. I did some good studying today and Luda and I will do some more tonight. EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE. :)

The only problem with not having any classes to go to is that I have way too much time to sit around and watch cheesy movies on TV. For example, Major League, Major League: Back to the Minors, Junior, Executive Decision, Jaws, Mrs. Doubtfire, Tin Cup, Stakeout, Die Hard, True Lies, I.Q., The Way We Were, and the great classic.... Summer School.
I have to get away from this place. Soon.
Not that I won't miss all of my friends here, but... I'm losing my mind.

The Maine Speech Lessons
Lesson 10:
Attempting to mimic a "Maine accent" is a good way to get your ass-kicked.
Lesson 9:
An "Italian Sandwich" doesn't include anything remotely Italian.
Lesson 8:
If you hear Mainers mention "Angus" or "the independent on the motorcycle", they're referring to the governor.
Lesson 7:
If you hear a Mainer refer to "The County" he or she is referring to Aroostook County, the one that comprises about a third of the state.
Lesson 6:
Mainers are NOT Bostonians. We like our R's and are generally happy to pronounce them. R's at the end of words can be softened occasionally but are rarely dropped completely.
Lesson 5:
The town Calais is pronounced "Cal-us" not "Cal-ay". No one is sure why but it is best not to question.
Lesson 4:
There is only one kind of clam chowder in Maine.
Lesson 3:
The word "wicked" is an acceptable substitute for the word "really" (in moderation) and has no implicit connotation, positive or negative.
Lesson 2:
The town of Bangor is prounounced "Bang-gore" not "Banger".
Lesson 1:
The word "Ayuh" is an appropriate answer to any question.
