Oh So Local

iarrhea Enrty # 116021148 The strike is going on outside. Mind, I'm not a scab, it's a union from downstairs that's striking, but I don't tend to sympathize with the mob, whatever its makeup. They're waving a big black & red flag down there and it looks like May Day, it's not as funny as May Day, but it is funny, walking around in the cold going broke. Actually, I'm on their side, but I don't like them as a mob. I don't think I'll ever do well in a union, even if it is wholly justifiable. You see, the idea of Belonging to Something does not appeal to me in the least. It's what I've avoided my entire life, except for brief regressions like the National Honor Society & 1993 NIC-9 Champion Cross Country team of which I was not an intrical part by any means but I was there and I am in the picture. Anyhow, I think they're striking the impossibility of them being given a raise until 3 years of work go by. Apparently this rule was only recently imposed upon them, and it is ridiculous. A year is too long to wait for a review, much less three. So let me put in my two cents of support, I just hope they get out of the way when I go to lunch. Let them celebrate their right to remain stupid! No really, they have a right to be treated with respect, even if they are prone to mob. (when you belong to something, it is very literally that)
