de duh duh de duh duh de duh duh (Patton music)
Something comic just happened to me. I was going back downstairs & outside
after getting to work to mail a bill I'd forgotten to drop on the way in
(some moron thought it would be a good idea to stop taking personal mail
from the factory - afraid somebody here is a terrorist - how ridiculously
insignificant!) and I dropped the letter as I took the first step down. It
went flapping down through the open air staircase and disappeared. It was
really funny! I'm afraid it loses something in the translation (from
reality to language), though. The letter made it all the way to the first
floor (or ground floor depending on where you're reading this) and I
nonchalantly picked it up & went to mail it. I don't think anybody at all
saw any of this happen. It did its trick for no reason - it spent its
talent, blew its wad, lost its marbles, pushed its limits, pressed its
luck, no whammies, to no avail. Its stunt is forevermore only lore.
I think my sense of humor is slightly off kilter, not exceptional or
unique, but a little out of tune. God's tempermental tuning fork may have
been winding down when I was made and then He re-struck it upon the heads
of the angels after I was done. Or maybe I just think too much. Maybe I'm
just a little over analytical too! Whta do you think? Am I too literal? Am
I a softy? Am I a cynic? Am I full of love & wonder? Am I a leader of men!?
