Korea Korea, gal where you been so long? Beautiful game this morning. Funny how I hate being part of a crowd but I love sports crowds, especially the nationalistically maniacal ones of the World Cup. The Italian guy who scored ran around pointing to the crowd and putting his finger to his mouth in a "shhhhhh" gesture - but they just got louder. I missed the overtime because I still do have to go to work, but I'm very happy that Korea won. I hope the Italians don't become a mob, though, the worst example of human tendency is the mob. It's all fun & games until a bunch of people simultaneously lose their wits & principles and go on violent selfish rampages that are recklessly cold-hearted and mindlessly shameful. If the Cubs win the World Series in my lifetime I'll go nuts for sure, but I like to believe I wouldn't go destroy storefronts & overturn police cars. As we're globalized I guess that will diminish and then we'll look fondly back upon our collective monstrosity.
