Indirect Proportionality of Continuomness
Today marks the end of my first 1/4 century on earth. Tomorrow at about 10:30 in the morning (I was born in the Eastern Time Zone) I will have completed my first 25 years. No wait, I'm 26 tomorrow, so last year was the end of my first quarter century. Now I'm well into my second! Just around the corner from 50! What's more dramatic a change? Age zero to age 25 or age 25 to age 50? What about 50 to 75? And 75 to 100? Does it keep getting less dramatic even though it constantly goes faster? Time does go faster as one gets older, it never slows down, it only always gets faster. I don't mind this, for now anyway. I know that Christmas will be here in no time whereas fifteen years ago, when I was turning 11, Christmas was many lifetimes away. In another 15 years it'll go by even quicker, although I imagine it's indirectly proportional...
