I had an idea for a webring of some sort awhile ago, but I'm really wondering whether I should bother or not. I was thinking about creating a ring or clique for Chinese, Cantonese, HK, Taiwanese, Shanghainese, whatever, people and also Chinese speakers, etc. The only problem is that I really don't want to create a clique for the sake of Chinese pRyDE [you know what I mean], but because I wanted to create a sense of unity, if that makes any sense to anyone. I have a better explanation, but it's slipped my mind at the moment. I'm thinking, there's countless cliques related to Japanese culture, there's ones for Koreans and other cultures, but I haven't seen one for Chinese people. Lately I've noticed [not necessarily online but in reality] the tensions between people of Chinese heritage because of China-Taiwan problems and such, and it rather annoys me, frankly. For those and other reasons, I want to create this ring. [I'm thinking webring because it might get too big and complicated for a web clique. If anyone decides to join, that is... T_T] My second problem is that I cannot seem to think of a name. I was thinking of "wo men" [kind of like "we" in Chinese], except that looks a lot like "women"... But I can't think of anything else! Blah. Someone inspire me here! Please do, and I will love you forever. [Jenn has started bribing her love, haha.]

My friend was telling me about how earlier in the year, one of her classmate's mother was killed a block away from her house, and now this kid is murdered by his brother three blocks away from her house. I was at church today, and we were discussing old traditions and customs of China and other places. But anyways, even though I've always known about foot binding, I could never understand how people [namely men] could find it beautiful for women to have stump feet. I mean, I always thought I had relatively small feet [I wear a size six, but I always wear "roomy" shoes. I can wear a girls' size four.], but think about long ago [not even that long ago in fact, I think maybe even just two or three generations back] when women seriously had stumps for feet. It appalls me, but back then you had to do it or else you were nothing, you were a disgrace, you could never get a husband, you could never bear sons, you could not keep up your family name. And for that, you can never get a second chance. Your feet are forever mutilated.
Danielle, you should definitely remove that guy from your blog. It's a little defiling to your blog...

Yes Cat, I must say I know what you're talking about... The funny thing with university stuff [not time for that yet, thank goodness] is that my parents used to really want me to go those big names, Harvard and all. I know that if I made it, she'd go around telling every single one of her friends about it. Now my parents have calmed down [and set their standards nice and low for me, ^^;] and decided that if I can get into UM [University of Maryland] with a full scholarship, they'll be happy and send me off to Harvard for grad school. I have so much to look forward to. As much as I can't stand how some Chinese parents love gossiping about their children, I've gotten used to it over time. What else can they do, anyways? Haha.
Okay, everyone's telling me that the last layout was scary but had nice colors. I need to finish this layout for Chicoria, and it's a purplish TM Revolution one! Yay!
