Not been here for a while. Work has been immensely busy, but on top of that, I was feeling far too much pressure - to read my news update emails, to post constantly, to read everyone's site. I needed to get away for a bit. Work's been horrendously busy, but good too. I've been reading maybe one or two headlines before deleting my news update emails. I've rediscovered hissyfit's forums and been reading and posting there. I just needed to hide from everything for a bit.
I'll be back properly next week - albeit probably posting less than my frantic previous rate - but I heard this last night and I can't believe that noone is talking about this or making an almighty fuss (scroll down to the 'in other developments' about half way down):
'The International Red Cross say they have found between 400 and 600 bodies in the northern city of Mazar-e-Sharif following its capture by the Northern Alliance'
And noone's starting to think 'hmmmmm, giving so much credence to the Northern Alliance was maybe not such a good idea'? Maybe in the real world, they're not so much better than the Taleban.
I read a news article recently that had a quote from an Afghan saying 'the Taleban beat first and asked questions later. The Northern Alliance ask questions first and beat later'.
If I was an Afghan, I would be scared.
