Well I'm here again, but I've been home and come onto campus again, so that sorta makes it OK.
I've got a Metallica single, Until it Sleeps, which has got a remix by Moby that I've not listened to in ages. I found it at the weekend, thought 'hmm have to listen to that again' and then didn't get round to it. I put it on tonight before I came out... and I LOVE METALLICA!!!!
Not recently, but all the stuff up to Load that I used to listen to all the time. So I'm having a bit of a ROCK CHICK moment.
Paul's coming down tomorrow. I can see him hating this ;)

It's funny. I have three rings and a watch that I wear. About this time last year, the rings were getting tight on my fingers. Now, they're loose and fall off if I shake my hands too energetically or anything like that. My watch turns round on my wrist if I'm not careful. And all this without effort. Don't get me wrong, I'm still not thin by a long chalk, but I lost two stone by giving up dairy products. It's not easy actually doing it. Day before yesterday on my way into work I saw some daffodil plants that look like they're going to flower in the next week or so. Today I saw a bank of snowdrops in flower already. It may still be cold outside, it may still be January, but spring is on its way.

There was an interview on Breakfast News on the BBC this morning about British people not speaking foreign languages. They had on some bloke that I didn't recognise and some Australian woman called Kathy and they were both completely mad. Some choice quotes (probably not exact, but funny anyway!):
'I don't know what you're talking about, you're all bilingual anyway. You all speak Euphamism. You say "stay for another drink" when you mean "never darken my door again" and "you Australians, you're so refreshing" when you mean "rack off you bloody colonials"!'

It's Alan's birthday today (the housemate). I have to rush off home and make cake, but I just had to post a couple of things before I go.... Largely because my email isn't going fast enough for me to email people ;)
First, Marjorie, I'll miss lacquered, but I can't wait to see what you're doing with whispers. It'd better be up and running by the time I get into work tomorrow!! Oh, and I reckon Loria won't mind if you stow away in her luggage!

This makes me sick. How did he get away with it for so long? 236 people... if someone had realised earlier, how many might have been saved? It scares me... you're meant to be able to trust your doctor. Did his victims realise they were going to die, or did they just think they were getting an injection for pain or something? Horrible horrible thought.

There's no justice. Last night I had the longest night's sleep I've had in weeks (I don't remember the last full night's sleep I had, even at a weekend). This morning I woke up with a headache, started feeling sick about an hour later and it's just got worse since then. That'll teach me for having an early night... :(
