Amnesty International is not particularly impressed by Bush's u-turn on holding some of the prisoners under the Geneva protocol.
Back Monday. I will be losing my guestbook soon when Tricia's domain expires. Please let me know if you think I should get another - otherwise you'll just get email and my livejournal to comment to.
Have a great weekend.

David Blunkett's been offending people again. He doesn't seem to respect other people's way of life.
He's been saying that British Asians, while they may wish to continue the practise of arranged marriages, should confine their practise to people already in the UK and that they should not bring people out from the countries they originate from.

I just don't know what I feel about this any more. I think that most people who actually want British citizenship would be doing most of this anyway. And I'm scared it will put off genuine refugees from trying to come over here.
And I wouldn't swear an oath like this anyway. And I like being British.

Does it not seem to anyone else that America is spoiling for a fight since the Taleban collapsed? All that adrenaline and testosterone brewed up and nothing to do... I know, we'll get Iraq again! That should be more of a challenge!!!!
Me, getting bitter? When Blair and Bush have been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize? Not bloody much.

Oh, I don't like this. Compulsary ID cards? That's a scary scary idea. Why should I carry a card round just to prove who I am? Yes, I have hundreds of cards that I carry round daily, but if I want to, I can leave them at home and not have to worry that it will stop me getting emergency medical treatment or whatever.
Did any UK readers out there go to fax your mp to register your concern about my last post last week? I hope so. I emailed all the UK people I know but I doubt even one of them bothered. I asked my doctor about it yesterday - I was going to go next week but didn't want to take the chance - and he's 99.9% sure it will never get through, but I think it's important to register our views on this.
