haha yest was so fun! really busy but fun nonetheless =) woke up veh early to go book keng area for some odac challenge ropes n high ropes thingie.. did abseiling n sone other high rope obstacles, but sadly didnt get to do flying foxx!! =( haha well it was still enjoyable though.
rushed down to renewal centre for tt ceremony lol was 2 hrs late but from what i gather i didnt miss much. haha n i met yap su-e!!! been a long time since we last saw each other hahahaha.. didnt noe she was in mentoring as well. president of vjc interact woah..
den i had to rush again to buona vista mrt to kayleigh's 2nd house for her bday bbq. n woahh i like her condo its soo beeeg with beautiful landscaping n like 4 swimming pools n a nice swing tts abit too low though i think its for lil kiddies not big monsters like us. i had alott of fun!!! ahaha n ate so much i felt i must haf gained like 5 kg tt very night. haha well really enjoyed myself. thanks simei!! =D

waahh long time no see. haha anyway my 17th birthday just passed 2 days ago! n i want to thank allll the ppl who made me feel so loved on tt special day!! to my qi jie mei gang, thanks for the prezzies n the love all of u showered on me! n my church friends juliet n gang for their beautiful prezzies too! n backseat gang! haha n thanks to all who smsed me to wish me a happy bday! i really did yayy. n of cos, not forgetting eunice!! haha it was a great wonderful touching n refreshing bday eve. =D
wah in short its been a WONDERFUL birthday haha my previous bdays havent really been much of a big deal n not many ppl will even rmb it haha.. i love all my friends!! n hope this will be a sweetsweet seventeen year for me =D

COMMON TESTS OVER!!! hahahaha must announce to the whole world. wah these common tests i really put in alot alot of effort. ive nv before spent so much time in the library man. the amount of effort i put in reminded me of the way i studied for my O lvls last year haha.
well but its over!!! =D veh happy n now i have a few weeks to enjoy myself before the pressure of promos start to haunt me. =D
wah today after the paper i had alot of fun. went out w darren vera minah eddi n charmaine. ate at ps cafe cartel haha den went basement to eat icecream. den we all laughed like crazy during the icecream man our conversation was so full of shit. hahaha den we just walk towards orchard n browsed centrepoint heeren paragon n fareast before going home. had so much fun man haha..

hellooo!! wah in a veh good mood =D cos the past 2 days have been great haha.. yesterday i had this adventure race thingie at e bkt timah area. it was soooo funn!!! =D n my team comprising eli-bimbo, minah n i came in 2nd for my category!!! n if im not wrong overall 3rd out of a total abt 20 teams. wahahaha... we took 4 hrs 47 mins, including the time penalties i think.. n the team in front of us was yeye, benny n vera, who did excellently tgt with us!!! =D
well it wasnt so much the winning tt i enjoyed, but rather the friendships tt were strengthened. my team n beanie's team cooperated at several instances during the race, n without each other, both teams certainly would have required a longer time to complete e race. our 2 teams went tgt for the second half of the race, n fati kept cramping on several occasions, so luckily we were all there to help n encourage her. the 6 of us definitely got closer to each other through this challenge, n tts the most worthwhile part of the whole thing! =D
after the race e 6 of us went to minahs house to shower, n wow shes rich mann.. her masterbedroom TOILET is as big as my room. n it has 2 washbasins though i dunno wad for. haha.. after bathing we went to serene centre for dinner, n den went home to zzZzzZzZz...
well this morning my beauty sleep was interrupted at 905 by my mum, so i ate breakfast, rushed to church, n thankfully reached just on time. after lunch i went to serene centre to study with eunice!!!! ahahahaha tt sotong really should open her eyes next time she takes a bus n know where the bus is taking her. so blurrrr man. grrr. haha but didnt get to try adam road food centre food today. another time must go n pigggg out there wahahahaha..

WINDSURFING IS FUNNNN!!! hahaha yesterday i had my first windsurfing experience. well the sea was really filthy n disgusting with a million plastic bags floating around so it was quite nauseating, but windsurfing is really sososo fun!! it can be considered one of e hardest things ive ever tried learning though. the whole of yesterday i nv quite got e hang of it so i spent more time in e water than out of it but it was still pretty fun haha..
in e evening i was with eunice celebrating our 5 mnth anni! hahaha time flies.. so sad man before i know it ill be mugging for A's, den leaving RJ. but dun wan to think abt it yet. must enjoy e present moment n times spent w my dearest friends!!
this afternoon went back to e same place to windsurf again, n this time e sea was sososo much cleaner n nicer cos it was high tide n the gunk was either covered out of sight or it was swept away or whatever i dun care cos it was so much better! haha but the sea was much more choppy today n the wind stronger so it made it more fun for the pros but more challenging for us beginners. i still didnt really manage to sail veh much n still spent more time swimming than sailing but nonetheless i really enjoyed myself! =D these 2 days have been a good exposure to windsurfing n we(my odac gang!) are definitely going to go back there, rent the board n sail, n try it again sometime! so coooll seeing the pros surfing, at a speed matching tt of a speedboat. whooooosh..

hiiee!! haha wah today veh happening man. in the morning woke up at 7 went to school for pw. den after tt went to christines house to play mahjong!!!! wahahahaha quite long nv play liao. damn fun!! k la i lost quite badly in e beginning first 12 games i played i lost all. but the 13th game i wonnn!!!! haha after that won 2 more times. played abt 20 games in total man only won 3 times. but somehow i actually managed to break even!! didnt win nor lose anything at all. miracle. haha
after tt went to toapayoh central to do maths. wahlao still got so much mugging to do so terrible man. need to buck up i veh scared cant finish on time.
tml going for windsurfing course!!! den after tt just hanging ard n meeting eunice in the evening lidat!! haha i pray for good weather tml!! =)

wah tired man. hehe this morning i went on a hike from rjc to the summit of bkt timah hill. we left school ard 0845, walked through macritchie, to this jelutong tower, den we made a detour to the HSBC treetop walk, n den walked to rifle range road, walked up it, n turned into bkt timah hill n climbed. hehe reached the summit abt 1230.. pretty fun lah actually. there were 8 of us, pretty pathetic attendence yarh but nvm la we had fun haha..
tml having lunch w my dad, den must go to church to prepare for canteen day on sun.. hmms n im supposed to be one of e leaders. sian man. haha well seeya!

heyy! long time nv blog liaos. been so busy. haha got soo many things to write abt man. firstly will be the ccal camp at bintan! erm well.. wad can i say. for a camp of that sort involving 250 ppl i must say it was pretty well run n organised. but comparing it to odac expeditions its really quite boring n lousy. haha..
but well i want to thank my dear liumei kangya for being so nice!! on e ferry on e first day she saw tt i wasnt veh happy cos i didnt have any friends in my grp at all so she veh kindly surprised me with a pkt of my favourite sour power!! =D yummm.. n it made me feel so much better =) thankew!! =D
haha well nth much to say abt the camp also la. luckily i managed to make a couple of friends though =) after we returned to school the odacians stayed back abit to check stores n collect bags, den some of us went to S11 for dinner.
the next day, which is yesterday, i went to school in the morning for interact whispering hearts camp. i got paired with this boy called cato, n spent the morning running abt n playing games w him n our group. hes veh nice n friendly n a pleasant person la thankfully haha. in the afternoon i had an odac exco meeting that lasted from 2 all e way to 6. hehe den we went to j8 to meet minah n darrenye for dinner at cafe cartel. yummm... after that darren vera minah n i went to ntuc n bought a tub of swensens sticky chewy chocolate ice cream to pigg on while waiting for our movie =D madagascar!!! goodness its soo good =D everybody's highly recommended strongly encouraged to go catch tt show =)

ergh. im so 'sick of life' now as eli would say. hais.
firstly its the gp common test which i dun think i did well at all. but thats just a minor pt la. how badly can i possibly do. n i shant be like those self pitying irritating ppl who go around announcing "I SO SO SCREWED IT UP!!" just because they made one tiny lil spelling mistake somewhere or sth. haha ok maybe thats a lil extreme but yarh anw i just dun like ppl who do things like that. only complain if its genuinely bad.
wad im so sick of life abt is odac!! firstly, original june expedition was cancelled due to the absymal response. only managed to confirm 9 ppl going n adding those likely to go but not confirmed there was only an estimated 15. so we decided to plan another expedition instead one week earlier than the original one, n which is safer, cheaper, n we basically expected better response. but after one afternoon of work n calling the odacians up, we realised that response is still abt the same. so most probably that is going to be cancelled as well. =(
ive tried fighting for the expedition to be carried out as planned, afterall well the previous batch is about that size n they had no problems. i also feel that those who want to go can always get a few friends along since no qualifications are needed. n ok i admit basically i just really really want to go for an expedition. but apparently the main concern is still that we should go as a batch n promote bonding, that we should involve more ppl. so well its highly likely that courses will be conducted instead. hope theyre fun =(
n btw to odac exco members reading this, dun get me wrong, im not using this entry to bitch n complain. well maybe the complain part, but hopefully i dun appear like a spoilt brat. just writing down my disappointment. ergh.

yawn.. wah damn tired man. anyway today was exciting. odac's 21st exco elections!! chair n vice chairs were already previously decided, hulin chairperson, benny n daffy vice. so today was just the elections for the other positions, n to me i thought it was pretty lame actually ahaha..
but the last part veh exciting! the veh last position for the day, welfare ic, vera felly n me were vying for the 2 available slots. well in the first poll, vera got in through a small lead, but as the results of felly n i were so close, a second poll was done to decide who the 2nd welfare ic would be. n well, i lost that 2nd poll by a slight margin, n felly became the 2nd welfare ic. lol but it didnt matter anyway cos in the end eddison n i, the 2 poor ppl who didnt get any specific portfolio, were asked to be exco members too cos more ppl were needed to manage odac this year due to e sheer size of our batch. so we have no specific portfolio yet, but soon i guess the exco will find a certain niche for each of us.
but then i again actually i dun think anyone of us will really stick strictly to our positions since we're all so close to one another. itll most prolly be like the chem resonance hybrid theory whereby we'll all do everything tgt as odac's 21st exco. lol hais i know for me its like they roped me into exco to save my face or just for yi si yi si, but ohwell im happy anyway that im in n ill definitely do my best for odac. i love odac!

im baccckkk!! this trip was not bad, but definitely not as good as belumut. cos some things happened. hais but wells, i still enjoyed it!! =D
yest morning after meeting in school, we headed off for kota tinggi by coach, stopping over at kota tinggi plaza for lunch. after lunch, we journeyed for another short while before reaching the base of gunung panti. climbing it was tough, considering our backpacks were abt 10kg each, n we had to do our own navigating due to the lack of rangers. thankfully we didnt get lost though, apparently the batch 3 yrs ago got lost while attempting the mountain n nv made it to the summit..
after dinner that night, my odac clique gathered on a ground sheet somewhere in a dark n quiet corner of the campsite n just chilled, cos we were all feeling rather down, or as eli would say, sick of life, due to certain stuff. it was rather a good time though, we all felt much better after spending some quality time with each other, n though not much was said, just the company was enough. we all went to sleep at 1am feeling slghtly better, or at least i did. i love my friends!! =)
the next morning, we descended n went to the nearby resort to shower n clean up. we then took a coach back, stopping in between for lunch. hmm after we were dismissed, i went home, bathed, n promptly left for church. haha i nearly feel asleep in church though was nodding off uncontrollably n my eyes just wouldnt stay open for long. does anyone know wad to do in that kind of situation? lol cos i tried pinching myself as hard as i could but it still didnt really work..
ok im veh tired. haha i guess ill be sleeping veh soon. ill try to get some photos too. haha

hii!! wah xiaomei n simei asking me to blog. heh anw today was chem spa! rather ok except that i sucked the KMnO4 into the pipette instead of the FeSO4, n i got this strange feeling sth was wrong, n when i realised i pipetted the wrong thing i looked up n saw the examiner looking at me. so i quickly rewashed the pipette n continued. hopefully i didnt get marked down too badly for tt.
after that went with piggy to ikea to eat fish n chips! =D it was not bad.. had quite a long chat with her, sth we've not done for a long time due to our busy school life =S
anw, im going off on odac expedition tml!! to gunung panti, malaysia. pray for me that ill be kept safe n sound ok? =D n all of odac too.

ergh. im feeling darn shitty now. cos of some things. n some other things. YUCK. but ergh nvm i shall not elaborate or gripe n whine here. instead let me focus on the more positive aspect of today.
interact truehearts has started! 8 of us went to first toapayoh sec today, finding e place after much difficulty. There, we played icebreaker games n the like, n though the mentees were very silent at first, they slowly began to open up more n get used to the presense of us old creatures among their midst. i feel that as a whole we did rather ok today, some ice was broken, n hopefully next week we'll be able to start work! their exams are coming soon so for now focus will be more on homework. i pray that by the end of the year, both sides will have enjoyed this programme thoroughly, n have gained much n learned much from each other =)
about a diff matter, ergh today i had to stand in bio tutorial again cos i didnt do my carbo summary. n i tried veh hard ok to fulfill my ambition of not standing, just that the workload is too heavy. but well its ok im still proud of myself anyhow, i feel ive done well regardless of what others think. heh =D
hmm ok back to feeling shitty again. lol. all's well in my school life, but my personal life at e moment is pretty screwed up. Jesus pls help me, give me patience n strength. I lift my troubles up to u Lord. Amen.

hehheh for some wierd reason e alarm clock in my mums room decided to go on strike this morning, refusing to ring when it was supposed to!! so it failed to wake my mum up, n as my mum's usually e one waking me up, i woke up late too! haha anw the first thing i remember about this morning was my mum bursting into my room, shaking me awake n saying "Shawn, wake up!!" i got out of bed to find the sun slightly too high in e sky for my liking n e clock showed 735am!! haha my mum wanted to call a cab for me but i thought since id be late anw n the bus isnt much slower afterall i might as well take e bus. so i reached school at abt 815, n went to join my class for pe. heh.
first white slip! but nvm la thankfully im not late very frequently. hehe but sorry piggy for making u wait for me for nothing this morning! =)

ATEMPO!! hehheh i just came back from e rjc symphonic band concert held at the esplanade concert hall. wow i enjoyed it man!! =D it was very goood.. esp since guni was performing!! =P its definitely worth e 16 bucks i paid for it =)
haha i went with darren jasmine n celine. they didnt fall asleep thankfully, hopefully they enjoyed it too =D

The pope has passed away! i know this is a little late to be blogging about this, but i think i still ought to. Pope John Paul II passed away last Saturday, and with his passing, the world lost a great man n leader. honestly, i never knew the pope well, just thought of him as some faraway head of the Catholic church. pretty sad, really, that i actually only got to know him n his achievements after his death.
with his passing, about 120 cardinals will now be gathering i think in Vatican city for the election of the new pope. may the Holy Spirit guide all who are involved in this selection, and i pray too for the new pope to be.

HAPPY EASTER!!! =D today, on the 3rd day of Jesus' crucifixion n death, he has risen from the dead~!! how wonderful it is to know that our Lord has triumphed over evil n death, n even more wonderful the fact that so can we as long as we believe in Him!! =D
yesterday was a great day for me. during the easter vigil celebration, many of my friends in RCIY were baptised! they also received their first holy communion shortly after that. the year-long RCIY journey has finally ended on a very high note with these ppl getting baptised n officially becoming children of God n true Catholics! =) im so so glad for them. yesterday was also for me a renewal of my baptismal promises, n of cos a celebration for the resurrection of Jesus Christ!! =D the mass was one of the longest ever though, starting at 730pm n lasting till abt 11pm. but its all for the Lord so its worth it! =)
after the mass the newly baptised tgt with the rest of RCIY jointly went to swensens holland v to celebrate the baptism of our friends. the food was excellent, i ate so much, n simply had a great time there! i left abt 2 in the morning, n alycia's mum fetched me n some others home =D
so happy easter once more!! n congratulations to those who have risen to a new life with Jesus! =D congratz on all your baptisms~

today is Good Friday. a day of mourning. it is the day whereby our Lord Jesus Christ was put to death 2000 years ago by crucifixion on e cross, to redeem all our sins n bring us to everlasting life.
n so yesterday, well, was Holy Thursday, the night before Jesus' death, when he instituted the Holy Eucharist during the Jewish Passover meal, also known as the Lord's Last Supper. Jesus also gave us another commandment, to love one another as he has loved us, n showed it by washing the feet of his disciples.
yesterday in church during mass, the priest washed the feet of 12 men chosen from e congregation to remind us of that. after mass, e RCIY sponsors prepared a special passover meal for us, to let us know more abt its origin, meaning, significance, n how it is eaten. after that we were supposed to go church visiting but because of the time constraints, we decided to just stay in CTK for the adoration of Jesus' body. stayed in church all e way till midnight.
hmm will be going church again later for Good Friday service. also, lets see if it will rain today at 3pm, the time of Jesus' death, as it happens most years. heh.

im bacccck!!! pretty sad though cos March Adventure Camp was soo fun! it was tiring too nonetheless, as can be seen that i slept all e way from 6pm yest evening till 830 am this morning, a whopping 14.5 hrs, record breaking feat for me.
Day 1: after meeting in school, we took a bus to kallang, where we started on our expedition to east coast. the sad thing was, we were against the tide, making our journey much more difficult. upon arrival, we had some practice with the proper launching n beaching up of e kayaks, n den went to cook dinner. for this meal, we the food ics really failed, as we underestimated everybody's appetites n ended up bringing much less food than was required, resulting in a whole bunch of hungry ppl.
Day 2: we set off from east coast on our journey back to kallang not long after the sun had risen. this day the tide was in our favour, n so we reached kallang slightly past 10am, much faster than expected. we went back to school, e 4 food ics n elissa went to ntuc to buy more food, den we bathed slacked n waited for the bus to bring us to m'sia. we stopped at one of e stops along e highway for dinner, n finally reached belumut at ard midnight. after pitching our tents, n doing all the misc stuff, we were finally able to sleep at abt 2 in the morning.
Day 3: mountain climb.. after a good breakfast consisting bread n milo cooked by the food ics, we left the base ard 9, n began our ascent, hitting the summit at 1+. we had our lunch n descended again, arriving back slightly past 5. we then went to the river to bathe, n it was soooo fun!!! =D the water was nice, rather clean n very cold n we all just had fun splashing abt in the water. dinner today was GREEAAT!! =D there was alot of good food. we cooked macaroni with campbell soup, with button mushrooms, sausages n tinned pineapples to go with it. we also cooked several large pots of barley water n it turned out excellently n everybody loved it, so it was a tremendous success =D the campfire after tt was pretty dead though n not very good. guess it was just cos everybody was so tired hehheh. stayed up till 2 plus that night slacking n playing cards before going to sleep.
Day 4: last day.. =( the food ics woke up earlier than everybody else in the morning to start preparing breakfast. pancakes!! haha it was something we thought to be impossible, cooking pancakes for 60 ppl, n we even went to mr low to ask if we could scrap that. but he asked us to try n im damn glad we did! =D it turned out very beautifully too, n we even stacked some of the nicer pancakes n decorated the top one with M&Ms to make a birthday cake for limin, for it was her bday. bet she was very touched =D hahahaha.. we then cleared up n took e bus to jb for a good seafood lunch, before coming back to sg =)
the trip was sooooo fun!!!! i love ODAC!! =D ive managed to train myself, have fun, n get to bond with the other odacians all at e same time. these 4 days has really been time well spent, n ive learnt things not found in any textbook =D looking forward to more such trips mann!!! =D

today was day of recollection in RCIY, a day of reflection, prayer, n preparation for the upcoming baptism of the elects. today was a wonderful day for me, one in which my faith was refreshed, n i also spent really quality time in prayer, n praying for each other as a batch in RCIY.
i especially liked the last session of e day. we watched a video, showing how a man with severe disabilities managed to live on bravely n actually be contented with what he had. his name was Joel. this man was involved in an accident when he was a baby, when a huge truck crashed into the car he was in, n his car started burning. it was a while before someone rescued him from the burning car, n by that time he was already severely burnt, his ears, nose n mouth had melted, he didnt look like he had eyes, his hands had also melted, n his feet werent much better. miraculously, he managed to survive. doctors couldnt even find enough skin on him to reconstruct him with, as with most cases of plastic surgery, as he had so little skin left after being so horribly roasted.
as a result of the accident, he had no ears, n just holes in the side of his head. his nose n eyes looked like they were made of plaster, it was surprising they worked at all. he didnt have lips, just a hole where the mouth ought to be. surprisingly again, he's actually able to speak pretty clearly. his left hand had no fingers at all as the whole hand was burnt right off, n his right had two large lumps which functioned as fingers to pick things up, with much difficulty of course. his feet had no toes either, but he's miraculously even able to run. in summary, basically he didnt have a face that much resembled that of a human being. but still, he was alive, n lived life to the full. he had friends, he jogged, he laughed, he played basketball, he was cheerful n optimistic. he also believed in God.
n thats not all. when the truck driver was finally caught when he was about 20 years old, Joel actually managed to find it in his heart to forgive the man whose negligence changed his life so drastically for e worse. in the court trial, he said sth along the line of not wanting to fill his heart with hatred, but instead filling it with love. he also said sth like, others can take away his ears n fingers n toes, but nobody can take away his being, the person that is him.
dont u find this life story so touching? i was really touched by this man, firstly at how he's able to continue living despite having such severe disabilities, n remain content n happy with everything he had. what courage n resilience that must have required. secondly, how he was able to forgive totally the driver who caused him so much agony. relating this story back to our lives, how can we learn from Joel? so many times, dissatisfied with the way we are, we have complained ceaselessly about sth or other in our lives that we wanted to improve. yet we are still never satisfied. we always highlight the things that we do not have, yet remain blind to the fact that we have been blessed with so many things. i know all of u reading this have heard this many times, n in fact so have i, but why are we still so dissatisfied n full of jealousy n envy?
long entry, but in my opinion one that requires some reflection. hopefully everyone reading this gains sth from Joel's story. also, sth out of point, i just saw my friend's msn nick n i think its pretty meaningful. It goes "The way to love anything, is to realise it can be lost". Do we really need to lose something before we realise its importance n value?

todays been a tiring day. i never knew that being e food ic would be so tough. but really, providing food for 65 ppl for 3 days isnt simple, especially with teachers that want us to cook pancakes for one breakfast.
well after school today celine vera haoyi eddison n i went shopping at j8 ntuc for our food, n haoyi went to jurong after that to get our muesli bars. spent a total of abt $680+. wow. thats a looooottt of food. for some items we totally stripped the racks of ntuc bare. hahaha..
but afterall its really part of the experience. it was tiring, but fun nonetheless =D i really dont mind doing all this, cos ODAC ROCKS!! =D
