We're BACK! Act 10.2 is up...

I think we can tell where I got hungry, can't we?

Anyway, the final scene was very much a joint effort... I got the pilots into a room, and I knew what they were doing, but I ran into my basic problem with Heero, Wufei and Trowa... they just stare at me and say.... nothing. So Ger helped some.

Ger and I decided to add two more scenes to the act; technically we SHOULD drop scene V into the second part (it's designed to be that way) but we're damn busy! The HTML formatting just will have to wait. If ever, ne?

Next part should be up next week- Ger has one scene done, I only have one for it, and Ger has one more...

I'm actually moving into CLAMP fandom.... can anyone tell? ^_~ Let's hope it doesn't affect SNK too much!

date |:| Saturday, October 12, 2002

I hate to do this to you guys because I know you've been waiting the whole summer for SnK to start back up, but we're going on hiatus again. I have a deadline for ROTC that is coming up quite soon and I can't focus on my project and write SnK at the same time. We will begin updates again after November 8. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The midnightrevolution.org server is currently having problems. For you users with DSL/cable/roadrunner/etc, it should work fine, but for folks with dial-up, you might not be able to access it. According to our hosting company, nomonthlyfees.com, the server is "full" and they will be correcting this problem "shortly." From what we've seen of nmf.com, "shortly" means probably in half a year or so. We're also having problems uploading to the mirror site at gwaddiction.com. In other words, don't panic if you can't get to SnK in the next few weeks, though I've written to Tyr at gwaddiction and hopefully we can at least get the mirror site working. *crosses fingers*

transmission |:| I would respond in kind, but....
date |:| Wednesday, September 25, 2002

Well... I WOULD post a reply to Ger's post, but I don't have anything. While I DO have my parts for this part done (how you coming Ger bear?), and parts of eleven and twelve done, I have nothing... everything I have is very spoiler-intensive.

OH! I know!!

I have some of the Carrington sides... there's two planned... one is called "Trauma" and the other is called "Pieces". She really came to life for both of us in act nine....

I sat in my seat, tensed against the restraints. I had been piloting a suit for longer then my leader had been alive, but I was eager to follow him into battle. I had never see anything on this sheer scale, and I knew I never would again. This was a moment in history being made, and I was a part of it. It was something I would treasure, if I lived through it. Treize was the one who gave that to me, the one who gave me the chance to do something meaningful with my life.

There was tenseness in the air, humming over the intercom with each crisp command. Every now and then I imagined I could hear the others praying to their various deities, hoping that they would defeat the odds and come home safe.

Act 10 Teaser!

-----------------------

He had just rounded the bend in the corridor when he saw her, leaning against the wall with her eyes closed, by the huge window by the elevators that opened up to the night sky. His first thought was to turn the other way, go back into that lighted room, to escape her, because he had been working so hard to avoid her these past few weeks, ever since he had arrived in Geneva. The hallway was dimly lit, deserted except for the two of them. He turned to retrace his steps, looked at her again, and the force of her presence hit him suddenly and he took a deep, shuddering breath, his eyes closing because the sight of her was too much.

He heard her shift against the wall.

"Hello, Heero," she said.

He opened his eyes, looked at her over a space of two heartbeats, meeting her eyes.

"Hello…Relena."

She gave him a polite smile. "How are you?"

"Fine," he said hoarsely, his heart suddenly beating faster, though he didn't understand why. Her eyes were impossibly blue in the soft light of the wall lamps.

She met his gaze for moment, then looked away. "I have to go," she said stiffly. "I'm sorry to bother you."

"Don't…Relena," he said.

She'd taken a step away from the window and paused at his words, staring at the floor. He saw one fist clench against her thigh. "I don't think you should be ordering me around," she said tightly. "Heero Yuy."

"I-"

"We have nothing to say to each other." Her head came up, staring into the darkness beyond. "Do we, Heero?"

He didn't answer.

"You made that very clear that first day you came back, at the landing pad. There's nothing more to say."

"I'm sorry," he offered clumsily, wincing at the taste of the words in his mouth, wondering why. Why he had spent this entire time avoiding her only to be caught now. He hadn't wanted this. He didn't want to hurt her any more than he already had.

"Sorry…I'm sorry too." The blond tresses shook slightly. "But sorry can't change the past."

-----------------------

Don't look for this scene for a while...it's farther down the road. But I thought all of you deserved some sort of taste-whetter after waiting so patiently for 4 months. ^_~

date |:| Monday, September 23, 2002

Brand spankin' new layout for the new act...hope everyone likes it! I Hope You Dance is by Lee Ann Womack and is a reference to Trowa and Catherine's act "Dance of the Daggers" obviously. The lyrics are a nice sort of "image song" for Catherine too...maybe something she'd say to her brother. And yeah, it's a country song. I'm from Texas...so sue me. The cool pic is by SilverSphinx and can be found on our fanart page.

QS actually blogged earlier tonight, so if you missed her entry, be sure to go check the archives and read it. She has some tidbits about the upcoming act.

I also updated the fanart page and am too lazy and tired right now to put an announcement on the updates page, but if you have submitted fanart in the past 4 months to our email and it's not on the fanart page right now, please let us know! I don't think I missed anybody, but you never know, and I don't want to leave out any art because all the stuff we've been receiving is excellent.

Look for 10.1 soon!

It's here! The authors' weblog for Sainan no Kekka, so you guys can see what we're working when the world of SnK is hiding behind the webpage during the week. Just what you always wanted, right?

For those of you visiting for the first time, Sainan no Kekka is a fanfiction sequel to the anime Gundam Wing. SnK, as it's commonly abbreviated, discards the "canon" OVA sequel Endless Waltz and instead explores an alternate possibility. What if the identity of the Gundam pilots was found out by the general public two years after the war ended? What consequences would this have on the pilots? On the people who considered them to be friends? On the newly developed World Nation and Preventers military organization?

Sainan no Kekka is located at midnight revolution.org/gundam. We also are mirrored at Gundam Wing Addiction. We update every Saturday with a new part of the story. If you're interested, please drop by! If you're a returning reader, we hope this blog gives you something to laugh at, ponder, or just read when you're bored.

FIC SPOTLIGHT

As we are a fanfiction partnership, Quicksilver and I feel that it is only fitting that we introduce some of the great Gundam Wing fanfic works that exist. While Sainan no Kekka is our only GW fanfiction, there are certainly plenty other fics out there that deserve recognition. This column will spotlight one fic a month that we feel embodies the qualities of what makes a Gundam Wing fanfic great.

And the spotlight for OCTOBER is...Blessed by Lady Akemi
GO HERE TO READ IT
Category: drama
Type: oneshot
Canon: yes
Shounen-ai/yaoi: no

We meant to spotlight this in July, but forgot about updating the blog for a while, so here's an early October present for you. Be prepared for something serious, dark, and pretty depressing, but if you like Gundam Wing fanfiction that fits with the canon and explores some of the themes from the series, this one will surely satisfy you and then some.

Lady Akemi's portrayal of King Nathaniel and Queen Katrina of the Cinq Kingdom, the parents of Zechs and Relena, in the final days of their reign is a powerful and extremely moving one. She not only tells the story of the fall of the kingdom and the end of a line, but she delves down deep into the psyche of the royal couple as well as those close to them. Far from being the perfect monarchs memorialized in legend and in the memories of their children, Nathaniel and Katrina face the same weaknesses, worries, and jealousies of any human being as they struggle to save their kingdom.

I'll be honest and say this is one of the best GW fanfics I've ever read. Not only that, but it fits perfectly with the SnK storyline. If you haven't read this, what are you waiting for?
