Well, it's been a while, but we're back!!
Really. A few things. The side, "Reunion" is up. This one is special because it features both Heero and Duo, and Lyra Stormrider wrote it with me! I had a blast writing it, really.
Next up is that titles for act ten have been posted- the links are all dead, don't try it. I need Ger to remove them- I think he was half-asleep when he was doing it, ne? But it's been so long it might have been because he'd forgotten SOP.
I am so glad I don't have to do the webpage.
Actually, Act 10 is slated to have TWO Heero scenes. Well, it needs it. And... Part One has been expanded to FIVE scenes. I have two, one of which is done- the Daughter of China. Sally. She way rocks. I'm working on Quatre (One more into the Breach) right now... and am on schedule.
We're officially going biweekly. Life is like that!

Just a short note to tell you that the Mission Logs are posted to the Betrayals Arc.
Also, if you haven't seen the new addition to the Soundtrack section, I've posted some image song "soundtracks" for all the characters. Go check them out. ^^ If you would like to make your own CDs, I've included some wav files for you.
Yup yup...should be uploading some lyrics tonight hopefully. It's been quiet around here lately. Is everyone on vacation?

Just got off the phone with Ger... He's doing well and sounded obscenely cheerful. Obviously we didn't get around to posting our ML before he left, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. He flew in an.... F15? something like that? and is getting plenty of fic ideas. Meanwhile, I am plotting, and have decided that fate of all the SNK characters!!! Bwa ha ha ha!!!!

Well, Ger bear is working on his Mission Log- mine is done. I was going to cover the power of a name, but... A name is something that defines a person, creates a definite shape, form and character. In many stories -from traditional folktales like Rumplestilskin to the modern Harry Potter's You-Know-Who- knowing someone's name means power over that person, or speaking the true name gives power. In SNK, the power of a name is shown numerous ways. How? ^_~

This is the script for a ceremony that is performed by military members called the POW table. In it, four people march towards a lone table covered with a white table cloth on which a plate, a glass, a vase, a salt shaker, and a rose are placed. Each person holds a hat under his/her arm to place on the table, one hat for each service: Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines.
I have participated in and commanded this ceremony quite a few times, and it is an important and powerful reminder to me of why I serve in the military. I'd like to share it with you as well.
There is a group who cannot be with us tonight. They answered our nation's highest calling and have yet to return from the field of battle.
They call them POWs and MIAs. We call them uncles, fathers, brothers, and friends.
The table at the front of the room is set in their honor and to their memory.
The hats from the four services remind us of the unity of purpose shared by our comrades in arms.
The lone table symbolizes the frailty of one prisoner against his oppressors.
The tablecloth is white, symbolizing the purity of their intentions to respond to their country's call to arms.
The single rose displayed in a vase reminds us of the families and the loved ones of our comrades in arms who kept the faith.
The ribbon tied so prominently on the vase is reminiscent of the red ribbon worn on the lapel and breast of thousands, which symbolizes their unyielding determination and demand for proper accounting of our missing.
A slice of lemon is on the bread plate to remind us of their bitter fate.
There is salt on the plate, symbolic of the families' tears as they wait.
The glass is inverted, for they cannot toast with us tonight.
The chair is empty. They are not here.
Remember, all of you who served with them and called them comrades, who depended upon their might and aid and relied upon them, for surely they would not have forsaken you.
A toast with water, to those who so honorably served and as yet are unaccounted for.

Sainan no Kekka is going on sabbatical for the summer since Ger will be away, but Quicksilver will still be around to answer the Email, and feedback is appreciated! Next week will be the Mission logs for this act, and then adieu! This is our Memorial Day post… dedicated to Veterans like Carrington, who are haunted by the past, and those who never made it back. May we never forget.

Well, we're going to hold off until Monday- this is my fault because A) I don't have my sections done quite yet, and B) I want to acknowledge Memorial day. I've been sitting in front of A&E and all their wartime programming, so... ^^;; well, let's just say I think I can compete with Ger on my angst mood.
Just a random musing. In September of 2000, the traveling wall came here.... and it really put things in perspective. I had no idea how huge Vietnam really was until that happened. It makes you wonder... and pray that it never happens again. Especially since I have friends in the service like Ger, or for my younger brother, who'll be enlisting in the Navy's nuclear power program (yes, he's a smart cookie) this September. It scares me.
While I was thinking of the military mindset, I starting writing the final scene of this chapter- it's primarily Une, but Carrington will feature, along with some of the other Preventers. To my surprise, I just found out something about Carrington that really expanded her in my eyes- I don't want to say WHAT exactly, but it's going to nessessitate a sidestory, which I've begun. The side might not be up till after our summer sabatical, though I'd like to see it up for Memorial Day.

transmission |:| new layout AGAIN
date |:| Tuesday, May 21, 2002
QS didn't like the last one so I changed it. I will say now that it takes me around 7-8 hours to do a blog layout, so I'm not doing another one for a while. -_-
This one is significantly...softer than the other one, and actually the song I was going to use for this was Britney Spears' "I'm not a Girl, not yet a Woman." I thought it fit with all three girls in the picture, but somehow the music didn't seem to match up with the image. I'm very picky about song lyrics that I use for layouts, and I wanted something that was a little more universal.
So finally I settled on Ishihara Chihomi's gorgeous piano ballad (and by the way, Konstantine in the last layout was also a piano ballad) Fuyu no Nioi ga Kieru Koro (When the Scent of Winter Fades). Yeah I know it's summer, but there's nothing like a touch of coolness in the summer heat. ^^ Even though the lyrics of the song are simple, I also think they take on added meaning when put to the picture of these three girls. The lyrics speak of loss and remembrance, and since all three of them lost a very important father figure in the war, the last line of the first chorus, "anata ga inai" ("you are not here") become poignant.
However, I added the dove and the budding flowers in the background because even though the scent of winter is fading, that also means that spring is around the corner. In the next few acts of SnK, we'll see these three girls grow into women in their own right. The dove symbolizes the peace that they hope to bring back to the world.
Umm...enough philosophy for today...
