Taking antibiotics, cough medicine with an expectorant, and tylenol when needed. Of course, here I am on the computer instead of getting bed rest. This is just like resting, right? Things have been crazy, but I think they are now in control. Went to Philly last week and had a ball. Great city with gorgeous parks and trees on almost every street. The temptation to visit New York and D.C. was very strong. Have you ever been somewhere and it just felt right? Philly is another place I can add to my short list of places that did that for me. Had a ton of email and reacting to emergencies all week. Lost some of my files from not properly backing things up like I should. I know, I know. Looking to start developing pages with MySQL and PHP. Plan is to start playing this weekend and see what I can learn. Think I can finally format my new (to me) computer. Looking to install maybe Win 98, StarOffice, and my HTML editor on it. Well, time to sign off...
Okay... if you doubted that even on vacation that I could not stay away from a computer, then you win the office pool! Day one and here I am. Got delayed in Dulles airport yesteday as 2 storms delayed my flight out of the DC. It was only 4 hours of delay which was not too terribly bad I guess. The worst part was where they let us get on the plane, made us sit an hour under false hopes and no air conditioning, and let us off the plane where we would have to sit close at hand where we could go at any time for 3 hours.
I so want to leave today. Instead I get to do an Orientation session on IT services for students at VSU. Will be gone pretty much without email or web access for a week. Hope I don't go into shock from not seeing a computer for so long!?!?! Seems that Microsoft had problems with hardware so people were up and down. It is my turn to be down. Thankfully I have other IMs on which I can rely... Plan is to make another dent in it at lunch today. Looks to be fun. Finally got the hard drive for the 233 Mhz MMX, 64 MB RAM computer my brother gave up. Had left it with him for him to connect it to his computer. When he found it chaining hard drives is not really plun and play he decided to give it up and let me put it in his old one and let him come over and grab his stuff would be a better solution. Watched A Fistful of Dollars 2 days before yesterday, For A Few Dollars More day before yesterday, and The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly yesterday. Okay, I admit it... I enjoy Clint Eastwood's spaghetti westerns.
Nice weather outside.... lightning, thunder, pouring rain. Wish I was at home... kick back on the porch and watch it. My dream house has a screened porch for just this kind of thing.
