I've typed up a long quote that I really like. The parts best liked are bolded.

Let us now discover more specifically how he [man] is the image and likeness of God and what is the standard or criterion by which he can be measured and estimated. This standard can be no other than the divine virtures which are revealed in him. Therefore, every man imbued with divine qualities, who reflects heavenly moralities and perfections, who is the expression of ideal and praiseworthy attributes, is, verily in the image and likeness of God. If man possesses wealth, can we call him an image and likeness of God? Or is human honor an notoriety the criterion of divine nearness? Can we apply the test of racial color and say that man of a certain hue -- white, black, brown, yellow, red -- is the true image of his Creator? We must conclude that color is not the standard and estimate of judgement and that it is of no importance, for color is accidental in nature. The spirit and intelligence of man is essential, and that is the manifestation of divine virtues, the merciful bestowals of God, the eternal life and baptism through the Holy Spirit. Therefore, be it known that color or race is of no importance. He who is the image and likeness of God, who is the manifestation of the bestowals of God, is acceptable at the threshold of God -- whether his color be white, black, or brown; it matters not. Man is not man simply because of bodily attributes. The standard of divine measure and judgement is his intelligence and spirit.

Nevermind... the web works (reliable, rock-solid [I built it after all] )... means I can do my job, just not let anyone know I am doing it... :)

*yawn* better go home. Email does not work so I obviously can't do anything, right? If I go home now, then if it mysteriously comes back I will not have to work?

Hmmmmmmm... only 44 people short of having 500 visitors to my web site (www.valdosta.edu/~esfreelo not this pita site. According to Site Meter's prediction based upon traffic over the last week I might be able to achieve 500 visitors in a little over a week. Not too shabby I guess.

Guess I should respond more to email lists? Seems like a lot of my hits are people checking out my web site after I answer a question.

Finally got to see Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon in Atlanta. Happens that it came here this weekend, but I was in Atlanta not here. Really enjoyed it so I will probably go see it again. Maybe I will take my brother? Riiigggghhhht!

Nothing like being on the interstate weaving in and out of traffic... crossing to lanes to the right, slipping in front of the 2 people going so much slower in the left lanes... I don't get it, actually... the signs say "SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT". To me that means that if you are in the left lane and see someone approaching because they are going faster, then you should move over to the right. I understand situations when there is a car to your right or moving over would place you too close to another car, but there were so many cars that were tooling along a 65 mph in a 70 mph zone where I was going 85 with no other cars withing 1000 feet of the car. So I just slipped over into the middle (or in South Georgia the right) lane and passed them without even slowing down. Was that a sign? Nope... I saw in many instances the car stayed in that lane and other drivers had to do the same.

I get the impression that people like the left lane because it is less bumpy. So do I... that is why I drive as fast or faster than the other traffic so that I can be in that lane.

Don't worry... I am done! Back to being content.

Should be less overbearing and confrontational. Seems like I am getting into more and more arguments with people over pointless things. Guess maybe it is the old ethics debate over which is better, the end or the means?

Oh, yeah... George R. R. Martin is the slipperiest piece of **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** I have ever read. His A Storm of Swords has tricked me so many times I actually get nervous when he starts using this certain writing style. When the character becomes uncertain it seems to be some sort of foreshadowing. If you have not read A Game of Thrones get your arse over to Amazon and buy it now!

Wow... I detest broken links almost as much as I test an inability to fix things. Does that say something about my personality? [ Read obsessive-perfectionist disorder (okay, it is not a real disorder, but as OCD describes people who are obsessive and compulsive, this describes someone who is obessive and a perfectionist) ] If I can't fix it, then it will bother me until 1) I find a way to fix it or 2) I find someone else to correct the problem for me. Maybe that is why I got so obsessed with computer- and paper-based role-playing gaems as a kid? It was an opportunity for me to correct great evils...

Wow, that was a tangent...

Back to fixing links...

Ever want to know just who is linking to your web site? Well, these tools will tell you...

Popularity by AddMe checks who links to you from Hotbot, AltaVista, and Google.

The WebTrends Network: Site Popularity Check! compares your site to other sites on AltaVista. Here is a comparison of my pita to lacey's and both of our web sites.
Of course there are lots of other sites that do similar things.

Note for future reference... "Open Everywhere" does not mean literally that the movie will be available everywhere. Guess Georgia Theatre Company has better pursuits for making money like Left Behind or Sugar & Spice before they show highly rated or even anticipated movies like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. How soon I forget... Movies like The Color Purple and Elzabeth took months to appear here. Looks like I will be going to Tallahassee where they have real theatres any way to see CT,HD.

That is funny... got kicked out of a computer lab because they were going to have a class in there. Lo and behold, no one showed. Gee... a Saturday class? Riiiigggghhhhtttt. As a college student, we had a professor tell us that we would have to go to a Saturday class because we got the 4th of July off... 5 of the 30 of us showed. We got extra credit, but still... Saturday class? It should be unconstitutional!

My what a quiet morning. Woke up early as usual and just sat back and continued reading A Storm of Swords. Only on page 710 or so. At least I am nearing the end. Seems like George has managed to pull the rug out from under me a couple more times. Excellent writer and very hard to anticipate. The story has me entralled because just when I think I have something anticipated I find evidence that I am going to be wrong and then totally blind-sided.

[Rant]Find it amazing how people are so willing to use email lists to further their agendas. The harsh words and the stretching of facts... the anger. What is ironic is the perceived tone I get of bitterness really takes me from thinking "I would support this" to "I will not support this person". Someone so angry... so full of bitterness does not rationally approach the situation. I have seen people so mired in this desire to further the agenda that they will say and do anything to further it.

All they want is to make sure that they get what they want. I find this duplicitous manipulation of others emotions for a cause insulting. It is as though they think that I cannot see through this charade, this farce. By plunking at my emotional strings they think that everyone will come to their aid.
Then again... some people do. Some people are so easily manipulated that they will be manipulated by hate speech. Charisma is something that can be the most dangerous factor in any battle. Perception is everything to us. People will follow a dictator if they a gulled into believing the ones the dictator opposes are evil. Described by a skilled orator, an old man giving a little boy a candy cane a Christmas can be a pervert. [/Rant]

Now that I have become a hypocrite, I will stop... :)
