It really gets to me when I walk into a store and ask for something and get "We will get some this week". So I come back in 5 days and get "we will get some sometime soon". So I ask, when exactly? Her response is this week. So I come back in 4 days. Nothing there.

Me: "When will you get them?"
Her: "This week."
Me: "That's what you said 4 days ago. Did you get them?"
Her: "They should be in this week."
Me: "Okay."

That last means, I really should make a more concerted effort to locate it somewhere else.

IE started acting goofy. Uninstalled Guard-IE and the problems disappeared. Probably it was in relation to the impending time to buy, but I didn't care for the problem.

Michelle is probably still at her father's funeral. *sigh*

When will I learn to make a copy of my Pita entries before submitting?

Downloaded Groove Networks' Preview Edition at Lacey's behest. Looks slick.

Took a look at my personal site's logs. Looks like I have 0.01% of 1 month's data quota in serving stuff off of it in the 6 months I have had it. How lame? Of course, it does not exactly get a whole lot of traffic.

People seem to think it is pretty cold today. It is only 45F. I mean, that is shorts weather!

Lots of work stuff happening. Password changes, updates to web sites, help desk questions. At least come next week things will be back to normal until a couple weeks before finals when everyone decided they need to be doing their school work.

Guard-IE handles cookies, web bugs, pop-ups, and their ilk. Very innobtrusive. Think I could actually buy this one.

We knew this would happen sometime. The Internet reached its peak in 1999. Survey: Internet shrinks as domain numbers fall. Fewer domains were registered than not renewed.

After almost 1.5 days of responding to email there are still 400 unread messages in my inbox... :)

That does not count the 2500 web design and 4400 RPG messages.

Could Info Select be the heir to the Personal Information Manager throne? Should not have said that. Now Microsoft will buy Micro Logic, integrate some of the stupider features of Info Select into Outlook and drop the rest.

It seems that it is snowing outside. At least the South Georgia definition of snowing. The ground is too warm for it to stick... :(

Back in 7th grade it snowed like this and we got out of school. Somehow I doubt we will get out of work. Of course that day after school I had to go play a soccer game. Maybe that is when I learned that the cold can be good?

The sun came out from behind the clouds and the snow has stopped. Oh, well. It has been 9 years since I have seen this much snow. A couple other times we have had flurries at night. I thought we would see some snow with this nice Winter Storm 2002.

Had a good break from work. A little out of it this morning from not enough sleep perhaps.

Some stuff from the break...

Day After Christas: When you get to kick back and attempt to understand what happened on Christmas. Watched Gallipoli and The Jackal on VHS (my DVD player is at mom's from the incompleted Robotech marathon). Played lots of Perfect Dark, beating levels with simulant assistants.

Found myself working on a list of favorites to publish to a web page. Decided to look through the dictionary for ideas of terms to use. Ran across the word emotion. Immediate negative connations flooded forward... confusion, anger, apathy. Maybe I am the Supreme Emperor of Pessimism? Naw. Felt guilty.

Lots of potential categories for a favorites list. Of course I had to subcategorize some of them like book has classic, fiction, nonfiction, and reference.

I am a member of the Baha'i Faith so I don't really celebrate Christmas. It really is kind of hard to completely abandon this holiday as most of my family and friends are Christian. So I try to be good and play along. It gets me a week of paid vacation so I play along.

It would be kind of kewl if I could work during Christmas and get 5 Baha'i hoildays off of work.

Got a suit, a 20 GB hard drive, and couple history books on our trip down to Tally today. Resisted spending a lot of money.

Got a great break on the suit.

Apparently Ultra ATA and ATAPI are not compatible. Hopefully I can acquire an adapter.

I got A History Of The Arab Peoples and Alexander of Macedon. Probably it is the least I have ever spent in a Barnes and Noble store ever. I had to work hard at convincing myself not to buy 11 other books.

Last night watched a few Kevin Smith movies. My bro and I were supposed to have a Star Wars marathon. All 4 of the movies back-to-back. We still have time, I guess.

Think I have contributed my part to LOTR: The Fellowship Of The Ring's opening. I have watched it 3 times and spent a over $15 on tickets. Usually I only see the movie once in theaters. I only hit twice if it is exceptional.

Have some pics of family and stuff my mom wants scanned. Should have something online pretty soon. Have already resized the 35 MB of pictures to a more realistic 612 KB. Still have to link them to HTML pages with names and make thumbnails. Should cheat, but I would rather do it right.

Got SSH working. Had to reboot, go into the mapped drive, find the installer and repair the install. That replaced all the files and the registry entries associated with the program.

Woke up early this morning. Maybe it was because I didn't do squat this yesterday? I think it was.

Came up to the university to check my email, but SSH on Galileo5 seems to be mapped to execute the AOL install. Think the people who install this stuff are one step ahead of the staff in preventing it. Telnet is a bust too. It is mapped to HyperTerminal (a phone program). Guess I will have to bite the bullet and use Campus Pipeline?

Saw Vanilla Sky. Thought it was going to be about a guy fending off the stalker, while falling in love with this woman, and reaching some epiphany. It was in a word... surreal. Much better than I expected.

Weird. Lots of hits to my resume. Here I was deleting all those email about jobs because I thought they were spam. Oops. If anyone sent me a job offer, please resend it.

I am impressed that google ranked me #51 for solaris resume.

For Joe: I love my job, really I do. Just curious about the offers.
