Chapter 78 of Fruits Basket is out, and wow, if that doesn't convince people that Haru is not interested only in Yuki, I don't know what will. I still think that "love" he claims to have to for Yuki is still more of a friendship love than a romantic one.
Wow. I knew that people said Takaya-sensei was used to racier stuff, but I didn't think she'd bring it to FB. (It wasn't that bad... maybe a low R.)
I love Becky Marie's layout. hehehe.... and she has a really nice take on the Tezuka/Fuji relationship... and a recs site...
And screencaps! Wheeee!
Yes, I always have people thinking I am younger than I am, but rarely older. Never 10 years much older. But then again, at my grandmother's birthday gathering last night (where two more people winced at my chem major, bleh to them all), someone thought I was my nephew's mother.
But yet again, at the place where me and my sister got our hair trimmed, they thought I was my sister's daughter.
Conclusion: People are really bad at telling ages.

Uh, yeah, forgot to mention (and this REALLY made me feel old):
The program that I went to the alum day for is for middle school students. We were looking at old pictures from my first year (when I was in 7th grade). I was getting all nostalgic about it when one of the high-school boys asked me if I was there when the pictures were taken. I said yeah, and he said,
"Wow, so does that mean you were about 15 years ago?"
O_o
Uh, no. 15 years ago, I was 5. So no. But I feel old. Very, very old. Damn it, I'm 20, I'm not supposed to feel old. *whimper*

Went to the Alum day for my old summer school program. I feel **old**!!! I was the oldest (and for the first hour, only) alum there for a while until someone from my class showed up, happiness. Everyone else was from the last three years or so.
Very nice to get to talk to old classmate. Hadn't seen him in a year (since the last alum day). Ahh, fond memories.
Also saw old students of mine. One's going to Dartmouth, one's going to SFSU, and one's going to UCSC. So proud of them. :-)
Random Chem major thought of the day: Why do people wince/gasp when I tell them my major?
To answer you, I actually don't really want a straight perm. Sure, the promise of not having to brush my hair is enticing, but two hours of sitting there with chemicals on my head without something entertaining to do and without a hood? (Come on, chemicals on my head... I don't think so.) She was just trying to sell me the straight perm (and highlights).
See... cooking for yourself is just not that appealing, right? And you guys all made a deal about me not eating during my breaks.
Wow, that is an annoying question from your brother (about the jealousy thing). Very strange to me that people assume you (not you specifically, but the general "you") must want to be in a relationship.
Anyway, I think that listening to the shows are fun too... so now that you got 15, can you tell me if Karupin is mentioned in the Momo/Kaidoh hamburger skit (right before Momo steals the hamburger? or did I just make that up?
Yup yup, we will be decorating next year. Come on, would hell not be a good theme for the science center? I mean, you got your different levels, the perfect chemicals for a nice long burning fire, etc etc. I'm sure you'll feel quite at home. :-P
How on crack is YuGiOh? Kaiba makes his brother into a girl in a video game? Oh Kaiba, I love you, you're such the funniest sociopath.
I am beginning to really like this series.

Random chem major thought of the day:
Hairdresser lady: You should get a straight perm. I'm just giving you a sample now. The real thing uses chemicals.
Me: How long will that take?
Hairdresser lady: About 2 hours.
Me (thinking): Without a hood?!?
(I actually knew it took 2 hours and is still super-expensive in the states, but was humoring her since she was trying so hard to sell it.)
I think that Saeki is what Hatsuharu would look like if he grew his hair out a little. :)
Went into an anime store because last time I passed by it, I thought I saw a Furuba DVD. Apparently, I was right. Lots of stuff in there that I would love to get. Something that looked like Hyoutei also caught my eye last time, and guess what, it was the PoT DVDs! $20 each, though. I wonder if they are from Hong Kong or Japan. Also saw a copy of Shounen Jump, but as I had $0 in my wallet at the time, I got nothing.
Tam-Linh, when are the GREs? Standardized tests are EVIL, especially at the price we're forced to pay. Wait till you're at the MCATs. When I took them, it was $180, but I'm sure it's gone up.
Gloria, sorry to hear about the jury duty thing. Can you call them and tell them about your situation? In CA, you're allowed to tell them when you want to postpone the jury duty until. Hope it works out.
Put your econ brain to work at the MCATs!
Fuji raped Tezuka? That is so weird. And creepy.
Got the radio shows at Jen's blog and May's site. (Go to Blog and the link is under July 14's entry.) I should really not talk about people like I actually know them. I just leech off of the nice, nice people.
Still not sure what to call you online, but sorry to hear about your water problems. Which law school has a subscription to Shounen Jump? *sudden interest in law popping up*

Does anyone know of a good place to get cheap plane tickets? The cheapest I have been able to find so far is about $315 SFO to BOS, and I was hoping to find something slightly lower.
Listening to TeniPuri on the Radio 15, wow, they are so on crack. Kaida Yuki actually did a really good job of saying "Karou is taller than Takeshi" in English. Really having trouble understanding the rest even a little bit. The skit at the end had Momo eating Kaidoh's hamburger? Will have to confirm something with someone who actually speaks Japanese...
Also, there was an ad with Kaida Yuki and Eiji's seiyuu. Wondering what that was all about.
Funny how being in a dentist chair can really limit your thought processes: "Ow" "Ow" "More ow" "Oh my god, that HURTS" and "Why is his armpit in front of my face?" (he was reaching over my face to get something).
Found out that my uncle, aunt, and cousin are arriving from Hong Kong two weeks from today. I wonder where they're staying... Their daughter lives with us, but this house already holds 7 people, 1 dog, and 2 cats. 3 more people will be BAD. Also wonders how long they plan to stay... Also hope there will be no SARS-related isolation because that would be BAD. Can you tell, I'm not looking forward to their visit too much?

Alucard would understand me
when I say I HATE the sun. Curse you for your wretched heat!
Okay, so it was actually yesterday that was hot, but you get the picture.
Anyway, I find that picture of Yanagisawa soooo amusing. It's from the Prince of Tennis GBA game, Cool Blue, from when he does his special move. I really do think the people behind the PoT franchise are 1) really smart, 2) people with a great sense of humor and 3) really crackheads masquerading as legitimate business people.
Here's a pic of Yuuta, from the same game. (hmm, apparently, you can't put an iframe in a blog entry. Oh well.)
He's so cute... he and Jiroh are definitely high on my I-want-them-as-little-brothers list. Jiroh because he's just so darn cute, and Yuuta because he would just be SO much fun to tease. hehehe
I also find Wankage a wonderful source of amusement. I didn't really get into the parts without the PoT characters, but then they got into the dude's pregnancy and delivery and I was hooked. hehehe and now, they even have Kyou-kun in there! Woohoo!
Woke up much too early this morning because something caused ALL the dogs in my neighborhood to bark like crazy. I heard at least 5 different dogs, and my stupid mutt was one of them. He's been barking way too much lately. This morning, I was up from 2:45 to at least 3:30; the day before I was up around 6; Sunday, I was up from 4-something to 7:30. UGH.
Not enough sleep = cranky Candy
Hope I made sense when I tagged all that stuff onto your board about MCATs. But do work on your arithmetic before taking the test. That probably helped to screw me over. There are some formulas that you should definitely remember, like f=ma, the really basic ones. Otherwise, I *think* they give you something. (Sorry, can't remember it too well. I think I've repressed that particular memory.)

Woke up at a little after 4 this morning, and didn't fall back asleep until about 7:30. Around 6-something I got bored and listened to TeniPuri Radio 14, which I downloaded yesterday. see below if you're interested.
Yeah, so a day after I went in to get my x-ray results, I got my "normal letter" in the mail from Kaiser. **bangs head on table over and over again**
The worse part? There was one line in the letter, and it said "I am pleased to inform you that your radiology exam was normal." That's it. It wasn't even on hospital stationary, and it was a copy, not an original. Dude, if I had known it would look like that, I could have manufactured one of my own.
And it'd look hella more professional too.
Have an interview with the hospital Wednesday after next. Hopefully, I can start in the last week of July, which'll give me four weeks to do 64 hrs.
Otherwise, if anyone asks me what I did over the summer, I slacked off and became a bum.
So off of ranting and onto musings on PoT.
Koji has some screencaps up of the beach filler ep of PoT. Look at the last one, click on the word "pic" in "What's wrong with this pic, may I ask?" See Tezuka in the circle in the corner? See what color the background is in that circle? *cackle* Plus, he apparently is in his bathing suit too.
Listened to TeniPuri on the Radio 14, with hosts Momo and Kaidoh, guest Ryoma. There was a bath thing with Ryoma, Momo, and Kaidoh... and Karupin was mentioned. Wow, there is so much that can be so misinterpreted... if you're a yaoi fangirl who can't speak Japanese. Luckily, I am only one of those, so I do not have a yaoi-take on it. The school broadcast thing was mainly Momo and Kaidoh fighting. Momo is super high-energy... somewhat like what I would expect of Vash. Add in Minagawa Junko, who is also really high-energy, and it was nutty fun. Kaidoh's voice is not really what I expected. Though I didn't really have anything I was expecting.
But the biggest surprise (to me) was Kimeru's voice. There was a promo for the TeniPuri musical CD (I think), and Kimeru did the voice over for it. His voice is very different from what I would have expected from his singing voice. I thought he sounded like an anime character, the really nice side-kick type. He reminds me of Katsuo (the first-year Eiji and Momo dressed up as Oishi)! hehehe
And of course, it piqued my interest in the musical again. hehehe
Also, now really wants to hear Kaida Yuki's version of White Line. I really want to know which parts are sung by her and which are sung by Minagawa Junko in the AOZU version.
See.... I told you we spend too much time together... but then again, I don't know what other result you could have gotten. Anyway, I hope you get some rest. Being sick is bad.
Also, any interest in trying to get subbed YuGiOh when we get back to school? Apparently, Okiayu Ryoutarou (Tezuka and Shigure's seiyuu) does Honda's (Tristan's) voice and Eiji's seiyuu did one of the voices (maybe Joey's, can't tell) in YuuGiOu Duel Monsters? Yeah, I'm confused.

Okay, Gloria and Julia.
Basically, Midnite Noodle has to be opened up. I made a subconference, but I don't know if you will be able to send stuff to it. Will have to work something out for that.
In ff.net news, True Friendship (the Tez/Fuji fic) is finished. Sweetness. Though the ending seemed kinda weird.
There is a Tez/Ryo fic named "Deuce" by Jennifer D, who is probably my favorite writer right now. Excellent Fuji and very, very cute story all together.

Kaiser is a soul-sucking hell hole.
Went in today and got my stupid x-ray results. Surprise, surprise, I do not have TB. Why did they make such a HUGE fuss about it on the telephone? "we'll mail it to you", "it'll take 2-3 weeks", "we don't mail those out", "you need to sign a release for them". Bull. It took them 1 minute to look it up and print it out and they didn't even ask for an ID. They didn't even need to see my patient card; all they wanted was my medical record number. So much for patient confidentiality.
By the way, it says on here that my doctor wrote a "normal" letter for me on June 10. Um, buddy, that was a month ago... what's the point of writing it if you're not going to send it to me? (The medical secretary didn't give it to me.)
So is it a surprise that I got these results? Taking quizzes online while pissed off gets you the funniest results:

You're Yami's 'Oh, it's YOU.' look, implying that
you think that most people don't have enough
brain cells to function normally or that Mai is
a ho. One or the other...

GRRRRRRRR
Two reasons I am quickly going gray. (Seriously, I've discovered that white hair does not blend in well with black hair.)
I called Kaiser today again and asked where my test results were. It's been 5 *bleepin'* weeks since I took the goddamn X-rays! They told me they don't send those out and I have to come and pick them up.
^%*&^%$$#$%^&%&^T#!%@@@#@Y*(*&!&@!&^@&(????????
You don't send those out? What the fuck?!?!????? You obviously have some employees that are on crack there then because I had 3 different people tell me they were going to send the damned things to me!!!! and not one of them mentioned that I could just go pick them up myself!!!! Damn you damn you damn you.
Second thing, my cat hurt his ear a couple of days ago. First it got infected, but luckily the infection went away. Then it was scabbing nicely before my stupid idiot cat scratched off the scab! and not only does he do it once, he does it several times and today, he made it bleed a lot. BAKA NEKO!!! Stupid stupid stupid cat. Now he's mad at me because I put something like a Elizabethan collar on him so he can't scratch it and he can't leave the house with the collar on. Dummy, dummy, dummy. Stop scratching your ear!
Though it is kinda funny to see him walk backwards trying to get the collar off. Can hear him running into things now in the kitchen.
Found out that my jury duty-free 12 months ends tomorrow. Wonder why I've gotten so many jury duty thingies in 3 years while other people I know haven't gotten so many in 10.
xanga vs. Pitas - the tag board is not a part of pitas. It's something you add on yourself. I didn't like xanga because for anyone to comment, they'd have to register and I'm too lazy to do that. By the way, Ms. Admin has fixed the tag-board so you should be able to say whatever you'd like.
Off to listen to TeniPuri on the Radio with Tez, Inui, and "beam-san" (Eiji). Very, very cute.

Haven't gotten the rest of Fuji's songs yet because I got distracted by TeniPuri on the Radio. Bleh bleh bleh. Those things take forever to download and I don't really understand what's going on, but I'm addicted to them. hehehe
I was listening to the Tezuka, Inui, and Fuji one, and it is so damned cute. I was right in thinking Tezuka's seiyuu is nothing like Tezuka and more like Shigure. I don't know why, but I think he was chanting "obaachan" at one point. (I think that they were reading letters and Kaida-san got one that said something about "obaachan" and it stayed with them throughout the show.) The "dream match" thing was funny with the rope-jumping and such. hehehe
I just got a jury duty summons in the mail today. It hasn't even been three years since I've qualified for jury duty, and I've gotten the summons three times already. Bleh, bleh, bleh, bleh.
Also got a nice card in the mail today. :)
Gloria-chan, I hope you get some sleep soon. If Sarah ever finds out about your late-night carousing, she will lock you in your room and never let you out this semester.
I haven't gotten to see what the page looks like since I've added iframes. Anyway, if you're using something earlier than IE 3.0 or Netscape 6 (or is it 7?), then you suck and you'll see a messed up version of what's on here. Bye bye!
PS_ I am not a hentai. ff.net has a ratings cap of R, so there. :-P
*Breaks out my Psych 101 vocab* You're experiencing a Superego/Id conflict, which causes anxiety, leading to a the unconscious utilization of the defense mechanism of projection. :-P

More Fuji album:
Walk On - One of the show's themes. I can't remember if it was a OP or ED... but it's a different arrangement I think. (I don't really remember the one used for the anime.) Anyway, this one is pretty slow, and Kaida-san sounds low and quiet. Then there's the snoring... not sure why that comes in, but cute. Wonders what he mumbles at the end.
Hitomiwo Instrumental - Violin instrumental to Fuji's Best of Seigaku Players single. Not really worth downloading if you didn't really like that song.
The Ache of My Heart - Song that was previewed during the radio show with Yuuta and Shiba. Very pretty song. Very, very, very pretty. It's slow and sounds sad. :( I think this is my favorite song so far. Romanji lyrics and translation can be found on Mako's blog.
Downloaded more TeniPuri chibi episode screencaps from CaptiveHearts and am cackling over them right now. Much cuteness. :-) :-) :-)

Christmas in July. Listening to the background song makes me happier. Too bad it's a partial and it takes a while to load. Somehow, got it in my head that the club is throwing Ryoma a party and he either comes in late or wants to leave and they tell him to sit or something. Can't tell what they yelled at him. hint hint Anyone want to translate? hehe
Feeling really grumpy today; don't know why. Maybe because I was woken up at 8:42 this morning and I could have actually broken 9:00 for the first time in a while. So the last 3 days have been 6-something, 7-something, and 8-something. I am really tired.
I am slowly downloading Fuji's album from Penal-Tea.net. Am rather fond of the songs, but Kaida Yuki still sounds like a girl, and that is disconcerting.
Semper com irmao - The Fuji kyodai duet is so cute!! They sound so sweet!!! hehehe It cracks me up. I wonder what Yuuta says at the end.
Days of Moments - Fuji's duet with Taka-san is nice, but I don't think their voices mesh that well. It seems like Kaida-san's voice is better suited for slower songs (the ones where she REALLY sounds like a girl) and Taka-san's voice is better suited for faster songs. I think I would really like to hear a duet between Kaida-san and either Oishi's or Tezuka's seiyuu. Anyway, I like the slower parts better than the faster ones.
My Time - Somewhat fast song. Kaida-san sounds more like Fuji in this one. Has a lot of English that I can't really make out. It sounds like at one point, the word is "syncopation" which is rather strange to me.
Syatta thansu... - I like this one. Both this one and My Time was stuck in my head from before the album was actually released (same goes for Jiroh's song) thanks to TeniPuri on the Radio.
Will have to continue dling tomorrow. It takes ~30 mins for each one to finish so I will probably get all the songs by Wednesday or so.
Seme vs. uke - I think personality is a big part of it, but it also is part appearance. I think that sometimes they just have the one who looks more feminine as the uke. The major exception, I think is Fuji/Taka. Most of the time, Fuji's the seme I think.
The most likely semes I have seen are Tezuka, Oishi, Momo, and Inui. Now.... in the Tez/Inui or Tez/Oishi pairings, who would be seme? What about the ever-popular Atobe/Tez pairing?
How about in cases where the personalities are less obvious? Like Vash/Wolfwood or Shigure/Hatori? (I don't read shounen-ai stuff for Trigun or FB, so I don't know how it usually is.)
Why am I wondering about this?
You actually made it this far, wow! Here's a treat for you: Who do these pictures remind you of? I won't be insulted... That's my nephew, with some modifications courtesy of those choose-your-hair style picture booths.
